John J. Tokarz
John J. Tokarz, 85, of Covington, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006,m at Broad Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wellsboro.
John was the husband of Faye (Smith) Tokarz with whom he would have observed a 58th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2006.
John was born on March 23, 1920, in Arnot, a son of Ignac and Mary Tokarz.
He retired from the J.P. Ward Manufacturing in Blossburg, where he was an electrician for 30 years.
John was a member of the Bakerburg Community Church, he enjoyed spending time with his family, caring for his sisters, making lawn ornaments, gardening and mowing lawns.
John is survived by his wife, two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and Betsy Tokarz, Douglas and Tina Tokarz all of Mansfield; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Philip VanNess of Mainesburg, Kathy and Steven DeHaven of Covington, Nancy and David Stanton of Mansfield, Kristen Tokarz of Covington; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Collins of Wellsboro, Ann Staron of Blossburg, and Wanda Harnas of Corning, N.Y.
Five brothers, Frank, Walter, Edward, Stanley and Joseph preceded him in death.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 25 from 10 a.m. till noon at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St. Mansfield. Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at noon at the funeral home with the Pastor David Dressler officiating. Burial will be in Gray cemetery, Covington.
Leighton L. Hartman Jr.
Leighton L. Hartman Jr., 59, of Hockley Hill Road, Turbotville, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Evangelical Community Hospital.
Arrangements will be announced tomorrow from Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville.
Clifford Bausinger Jr.
Clifford Bausinger Jr., 80, of 420 Mulberry St., Montoursville, and a guest at Valley View Nursing Center, died Tuesday March 21, 2006, at the home. He was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Williamsport, a son of Clifford A. and Estella A. Tice Bausinger.
He was a retired member of Laborers Union Local 708.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville and was a life member of the Willing Hand and Hose Volunteer Fire Company in Montoursville. He was a Navy veteran, having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Also, he drove a landing craft at the Normandy Invasion. Clifford was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved eating his wife’s cooking.
On May 29, he would have celebrated his 47th wedding anniversary with his wife, the former Ruth W. Robbins.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Steve C. (Nancy) Weiman of Searcy, Ark., and Paul A. (Mary) Bausinger of Montoursville; a daughter, Diana L. (Kevin) McElwee of Muncy; a brother, Duane Bausinger of Bruhl, Germany; a sister, Shirley Ferris of Williamsport; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild
The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. J. Jeffrey Zetto, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Montoursville cemetery with military rites accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Dr. Betty J. Sundheim
Dr. Betty Jean Sundheim, 89 of West Chester, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Newtown.
She was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Altoona, the daughter of the late William and Ethel Harer Madden and lived most of her life in the Philadelphia area.
Betty Jean was married to the late Herman L. Sundheim for 30 years prior to his passing in 1985.
Betty Jean received her under graduate with honors from Swarthmore College, her Masters from Temple University and her doctorate from Columbia University.
She retired from Temple University after 40 years as a professor of psychology.
She served on the board at the Chester Co. Adult School and was involved in a number of Professional Associations.
Betty Jean is survived by three cousins, Mrs. Thomas A. Frazier of Williamsport, Mrs. John Atkinson of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Carl Goettel of Montoursville.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wildwood cemetery with the Rev. Maurice C. Frontz III officiating.
In Betty Jean’s memory memorial contributions may be made to Penn State University State College, PA 16801.

Virginia M. Missigman
Virginia M. Missigman, 80, of 2021 Round Top Road, Montoursville, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, in the Williamsport Hospital.
She and her husband, Charles J. Missigman, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 12.
Born Oct. 12, 1925, in Rochester, N.Y., she was a daughter of Charles and Marie Welteroth Krisher. Virginia graduated from St. Joe’s and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
She and her husband owned the News Center in the Loyal Plaza from 1969-1979, and she retired as an assistant purchasing agent from Penn College. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Michelle L. Rickard (Michael) with whom she lived; three grandchildren, Brian and Taylor Gray and Jillian Rickard; two step-grandchildren, Chad Rickard and Lori Bradley; four step-great grandchildren, and a sister, Irene Heckman of Florida.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Credito.
A memorial Mass will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, with the Rev. Michael J. Zipay officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday in the church lounge. Burial will be in Wildwood cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Donald A. Bernardi, 79, a resident of Cogan Station, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Williamsport Hospital.
Born in 1926 in Williams-port, he was a son of Sam and Virginia Bernardi.
A 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School, he attended Dickinson Jr. College and was a WWII Navy Veteran.
Donald was an engineer for Textron-Lycoming for 26 years. He was a member of SAE, where he was past President of the local chapter, and a member of Quarter-Two Flying Club.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Betty J. Rice; a son, Steven and his wife, Tina of Penns Creek; a daughter, Lynn and her husband, Harold of Baltimore, Md.; and a grandson, Macen USMC stationed in San Diego, Calif.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Eugene.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 635 Hepburn St., Williamsport, PA 17701 at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Michael McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. The family will provide the flowers.
