Betty (Boch) Kemerer, age 85, on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in Manor Care Nursing Home. Wife of the late Raymond ``Lou" Kemerer; mother of Russell R., Rodney T. and Chris F. Also survived by grandchildren, Craig, Jeffrey, Julie, Laura and Adam. Born in Paintertown, Pa., she grew up in Irwin and was valedictorian of the Norwin High School Class of 1934. A graduate of Seton Hill College and resident of Gibsonia since 1960, Mrs. Kemerer was a founding member of the Friends of Richland Public Library. As she was a teacher and avid lifelong reader, memorial contributions are suggested to the Northern Tier Regional Library, Richland Center, 4015 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044. Stephen L. Kossuth Jr., 59, of White Oak, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in his residence. He was born April 12, 1942, in McKeesport, the son of Stephen Sr. and Frances V. (Morris) Kossuth. Mr. Kossuth was a member of St. Angela Merici Church, White Oak. He was employed as a service manager at Mick's Dodge, McKees Rocks, and was a member of American Legion Post 701 and the Croatian Club, McKeesport. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Stella A. (Pipp) Kossuth; two  daughters, Sandra DiPerna of White Oak and Jeanette Judith McAdoo of Glassport; two sons, Stephen L. Kossuth Jr. of McKeesport and Shawn L. Kossuth of Irwin; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Smith of McKeesport, Lorraine Evans of Versailles Borough and Maryann Richard of Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WILLIG FUNERAL HOME, 220 Ninth Ave., McKeesport. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Angela Merici Church, White Oak, with the Rev. Stephen Chervenak as celebrant. Entombment in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park. The American Legion will hold a service Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a disaster relief fund.

Linda Joann Seremet Mellquist, 49, of Napa, Calif., formerly of Latrobe, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in Latrobe, in the presence of her family. She was born Dec. 18, 1951, in Latrobe, the daughter of Floy Juanita Walker Seremet of Latrobe and the late Walter J. Seremet. She was a retired marketing consultant, and a professor of agriculture business at Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo, Calif. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, John B. Mellquist; and three brothers, Ronald of Scottsdale, Ariz., Kenneth of Youngwood and Gary Seremet of Orlando, Fla. Friends received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Unity Chapel with the Rev. Donald J. Mondello officiating. Interment , Unity cemetery, Unity Township. George Namie, 87, of Fallowfield Township, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. A son of the late Michael and Habose Dahma Namie, he was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Monongahela. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, Monessen. A lifelong barber, Mr. Namie owned and operated his barber shop in North Belle Vernon from 1948 until 1991. Survivors include a son, Russell G. Namie and wife, Carla, of Youngwood; two  daughters, Patricia Marsden and husband, Lloyd, and Georgiann Michener and husband, George M., all of Belle Vernon; and five grandchildren, Mark Dolfi, George D. Michener, Dean Michener, Adam R. Namie and Allison J. Namie. A private service was held Thursday, Oct. 18. Arrangements by the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., Belle Vernon.

Hazel Grace Parker, 89, of Hunker RD1, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in her home. She was born Jan. 31, 1912, in Kingview (Scottdale), a daughter of the late John H. and Mary Adeline (Kinneer) Hudkin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Geisel; her second husband of 20 years, Fleetwood R. Parker, in 1970; three brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her children, Eileen Geisel Felice, Betty Geisel Thompson and husband, William S., Randy Lee Parker, Saundra Lynn Parker, all of Hunker RD1, Calvin Zane Parker and wife, Janet, of Greensburg and Joyce Faye Parker Diehl and husband, Karl, of Hunker RD1; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, Emma Grace, named after her great-great-grandmother; a devoted niece, Phyllis Hudkin Grossi and husband, John, of Syracuse, N.Y.; and a number of other nieces and nephews. She attended Calvary Baptist Church, New Stanton, and was a member of the Hempfield Grange. Friends received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Sappie Sr. and Rose Sappie Farina. aunt of Theodore Sappie, Helen Steimer, Clare Byers, Norma Jean Grooms, Eleanor Bosco and the late Paul Sappie. Friends received in JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC., 4900 Centre Ave. at Devonshire Street (Oakland), on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church (Wilkinsburg) at 11 a.m. Mrs. Reif resided in Wilkinsburg for over 30 years and was a member of St. James Parish. She was an office manager for Beverly Farms Inc. Dairy for many years.

He was born March 12, 1915, in Crabtree, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ruscin. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Richard A. Ruscin; three brothers, John, Steve and Michael Ruscin; and two sisters, Eva Solkolsky and Helen Marcinko. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bertha Bradish Ruscin; a son, Joseph M. Ruscin and his wife, Cynthia, of Auburn, Ala.; a daughter-in-law, Nadine Ruscin of Wilson, N.C.; two brothers, James Ruscin of New Jersey and Vincent Ruscin of Florida; three sisters, Sister M. Alexander J. ``Sandy" Stewart Sr., 65, of Fellsburg, Rostraver Township, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, in his home. Born Feb. 10, 1936, in Rostraver Township, he was the son of the late George R. and Sara (Greenwood) Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a former employee of American Chain & Cable in Monessen and also owned and operated his own tractor-trailer, hauling for Perkins Furniture Transport at the time of his retirement in 1998. He was a former fire chief of Rostraver Central Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Scottish Clan of Donora. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn (Shoemaker) Stewart; a son, Sgt. Alexander Jay Stewart and wife, Min-Gi, of Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.; three  daughters, Amy Kent and husband, Ronald, of Roscoe, Audrey Richardson and husband, Brian, of Greensburg and Aurlie Dover and husband, John, of San Pedro, Calif.; a brother, Ret. Col. George R. Stewart of Universal City, Texas; a sister, Thora S. Hazy of Beaver; and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis O'Donnel and Jean Volk. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAMES C. Mr. Trout was a former buyer for Guardian Industries in Floreffe, Pa. He was a member of Leesburg First Assembly of God Church in Leesburg, Fla., and All-Faith Bible Study at Spruce Creek Country Club in Summerfield, Fla. Survived by his wife, Judith (Umbel) Trout; sons and stepson, Fred Trout Jr. of Douglasville, Ga., Jeff Trout of Lithia Springs, Ga., and Jamison Foster of Elizabeth; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Trail of Elizabeth; six grandchildren; and cousins. Arthur M. Uncapher, 71, of Irwin, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Export, a son of the late Thomas M. and Margaret Klingensmith Uncapher. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a bus driver for the Gateway School District. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Manor American Legion Post 472. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet A. Parsons Uncapher, in 2001; and a sister, Lucille Pfeifer. He is survived by three sons, Thomas A. Uncapher and wife, Donna, of Greensburg, Randy S. Uncapher and wife, Glenda, of Greensburg and David L. Uncapher of Wegley; a daughter, Pamela R. Kuhn of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, Charles Uncapher of Export, Wendell Uncapher of Jeannette and Ralph Uncapher of Florida; four sisters, Ruth Povrzenich of New Jersey, Irene Dodds of Elizabeth, Blanche Strubble of Jeannette and Beck Hayhurst of Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, followed by interment in the church cemetery. A parish wake service will be held Wednesday in the funeral home.

Fannie Jane Yount of Brighton Heights

John Winfield Yount of South Park Township

Fannie Jane Yount, 70, of Brighton Heights, died Friday, May 25, 2001, in an automobile accident in Armstrong County. Her brother, John Winfield Yount, 80, of South Park Twp., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, as a result of the injuries he sustained in the same accident that took his sister's life. They were both preceded in death by their parents, Harry Edwin and Lena Shaffer Yount, and a brother, Merle Ray Yount. Survived by a loving sister, Betty Lou Yount of Avalon. John was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann (Simmons) Yount. He is also survived by Betty Ann's sons, Craig Simmons and his wife Debbie and their son Matthew of Virginia, and Barry Simmons and his wife Jan of New Hampshire. Fannie Jane Yount was retired from US Steel, USX where she had been an executive secretary in the engineering department. John Yount was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and was a retired pharmacist from the Allegheny County Board of Health. During World War II, he served in Europe with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a member of the VFW. Both graduated from Oliver High School. A memorial service in celebration of their lives will be Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at 3 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, Centre Avenue at Aiken in Shadyside. Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the church, Animal Friends on Penn Avenue or a charity of choice. Arrangements are by the ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME INC.
