Albert G. Barker, 76, on Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was born in Duquesne on April 16, 1925, son of the late Albert E. and Janet M. (Smith) Barker. Mr. Barker was a retired metallurgical specification analyst with U.S. Steel, Duquesne Works. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Duquesne, a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #8980 in Garden City, S.C., and past Faithful Navigator of San Miguel Assembly in South Carolina. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, receiving both the George Meany Labor Award and the St. Joan of Arc Award. Husband of Margaret Ann (Harrigan) Barker;  Father of Albert G. Barker Jr. of Liberty Boro and Susan Lynn Manning of Pittsburgh; brother of Velma ``Toots" Whitney of McKeesport, Janet Oyler of Newark, Calif., William Barker of Duquesne, Theodore Barker of Delmont, James Barker of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dewayne ``Pete" Barker of Torrance, Calif.; grandfather of Jessica DeFrancisco, Samantha Barker, Sydney and Marisa Manning. William J. Brallier, 76, on Monday, Oct. 8, 2001. Mr. Brallier was a World War II veteran, serving on a P.T. boat in the Pacific Theater. He was former owner of Brallier Auto Repair Shop in Braddock and retired from the the General Service Department of Allegheny County. Husband of Nancy J. (McElroy) Brallier;  Father of Kerry Stafford and husband Marshall of Fox Chapel, and David J. and wife Jill of Forest Hills; brother of Betty Lloyd of Swissvale and the late Margaret Brallier; grandfather of Megan Stafford and Summer Brallier. Linda L. Briskey, age 52, suddenly on Monday, Oct. 8, 2001. Daughter of the late Andrew J. and Ann Briskey. Beloved sister of Jeanne Fennell, Marian Hucko, Thomas and David Briskey. Also survived by 13 nieces and nephews. Ms. Briskey was treasurer of the Three Rivers Paddling Club and historian of the Longvue Garden Club. She was also a member of the Pittsburgh Explorer's Club. Helen G. Bryan, 80, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born June 22, 1921, in Indiana, Pa., a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Alice Silvis Bryan. She was a retired employee of the Old Republic Insurance Company in Greensburg and was the owner of Helen Bryan Hobby and Flower Shop. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Beth Circle, the Concert Hand Bell Choir and the Senior Choir of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Bryan; and a sister, Jane Bryan. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Saturday at 10 a.m. with Mr. Gus Keiser officiating. Angeline Capparelli, 89, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in Beverly Health Care, Murrysville. She was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Magnloia Scarlett. She was formerly employed by DeLallo's kitchen in Jeannette. She was a member of Ascension Church and the Sacred Heart Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Capparelli, in 1966; a son, Peter D. Capparelli; a great-granddaughter, Laura Kocevar; two brothers, Frank and Louis Scarlett; and a sister, Mary Scarlett. She is survived by two  daughters, Joyce and her husband, Larry Weimer, of Greensburg and Mary and her husband, Bob Reeger, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Harrison City; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Joseph and his wife, Irene Scarlett, of Jeannette; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers in the funeral home Saturday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Ascension Church, Jeannette, with Monsignor Nicholas A. Mitolo as celebrant. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart cemetery, Penn Township.

William Carroll Cecil, age 64, on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001. Mr. Cecil was a retired machinist from Westinghouse.  Father of William Dean Cecil of E. Pittsburgh, Gary Allen Cecil of Turtle Creek and Carol Ann Cecil of Mt. Pleasant. Brother of Lila Garrett, Floyd, Nile and David Cecil, and the late Lloyd, Carl, Jesse and Madeline. Also survived by five grandchildren. Former husband of 26 years to Lois Ann (Horton) Cecil. Lily E. Coffman, 84, of White, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, in the Greensburg Care Center. Nora M. Connolley, age 82, a resident of LGAR Home in Turtle Creek, formerly of Braddock Hills, on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001. Born and raised in Homewood, Ms. Connolley was a 1939 graduate of Holy Rosary High School. She then resided in Wilkinsburg for over 50 years and was a member of St. James Church. She was a retired cashier with Stabile Parking Company, working mainly at the Manor Building. Ms. Connolley was a member of Catholic  daughters of America in both Swissvale and Braddock and was past grand regents of CDA. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Senior Citizens, Mulberry Senior Citizens and Turtle Creek Eastern Area Association. She was also a member of the Catholic Business and Professional Women's Association and the Pittsburgh Gaelic Arts Society. Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Lydon) Connolley. Sister of Michael Connolley of Braddock Hills. Preceded in death by brother and sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth and William Connolley and Sarah Hanlon. Also survived by nieces and nephews, and cousins in the United States and Ireland. Friends received Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PATRICK T. Survived by one son, Drew Dorner; one daughter, Susan Dreier; six grandchildren, William E. Dorner, Elizabeth R. McClain, Jeffrey S. Dreier, Bryan A. Dorner, Meri A. Dorner and Kari A. Dorner. John E. Eichelman

John E. Eichelman, age 81, on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in UPMC Passavant. Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John Philip and Josephine (Ruach) Eichelman. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice J. Eichelman. Survivors include his son, Charles J. and his wife Judith A. Hartman of Allison Park; daughter, Judith M. Tunney and her husband John of Allentown; sister, Edna Bergman of Reserve Twp.; also two grandchildren, Jennifer and John Tunney Jr.. Mathilda Helen Hayes Frey

Mathilda Helen Hayes Frey, 89, of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001. She was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late William Rankin Hayes and Wilhemina Hayes. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Frey, in 1973; and two brothers, William R. Hayes and Nevin T. Hayes. She worked for Green Thumb, a program of the California Center in the Woods, as a resource and referral specialist. She was active in the Friday Evening Club and the Eastern Star. Left to cherish her memory are her son, William Paul Frey of Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Paula Anne Frey Gamble of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Darrin Paul Gamble, Heather Dawn Gamble Mihalek, David Jeremy Frey, Amanda Elizabeth Frey, Nathan Christopher Frye and Jordan Paul Frye; and three great-grandchildren, Tabitha Storm Gamble, Lauren Elizabeth Mihalek and Patrick James Mihalek. A memorial service will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. in California United Methodist Church, 227 Third and Liberty streets, California, Pa., with the Rev. David Lindberg officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa. Mary Ann Iorio
Delmont

Mary Ann Iorio, 69, of Delmont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Florida. She was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Smith) Wermlinger. Mary Ann was a dedicated Mom and Grandma who enjoyed cooking and charity work. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Wermlinger; and a sister, Gertrude McKee. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Dominic Iorio; six children, Deborah Bucciero and husband, Anthony, of Export, Yvonne Jaehne and husband, William, of Gibsonia, Dominic Iorio and wife, Janice, of Sarasota, Fla., Dr. Craig Iorio and wife, Andrea, of Park Ridge, Ill., Dr. Clark Iorio and wife, Beth, of Medina, Ohio, and Gina Iorio Higgins of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Jack Wermlinger and wife, Margie, of Plum Borough; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also will be missed by her 13 grandchildren. Irene Jakab, age 88, on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in Jefferson Hills Manor Nursing Home, Jefferson Hills. She was born Jan. 29, 1913, in McKeesport, daughter of the late Steve and Regina Kovatch. Mrs. Jakab was a homemaker and seamstress who worked out of her home. She was a member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Church in McKeesport. Wife of the late John Jakab; mother of George S. Jacob of Clairton, John R. Jacob of Bend, Ore., Andrew L. Jakab of Romulus, Mich., and Dennis P. Jakab of Powell Butte, Ore.; sister of Steve Kovatch of Butler. Also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, where Parastas Service will be Thursday at 7:15 p.m. Memorial Service in the funeral home Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, McKeesport, at 10 a.m. with  Father John Cuccaro as celebrant. Kin R. Johns

Kim R. Johns, 46, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in Beaver County. He was born Jan. 18, 1955, in Okinawa, Japan, a son of Robert and Kazuko Johns. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Beth Ann (McGinnis) Johns, whom he married in 1981; two  daughters, Rachel and Sarah; two sons, Zachary and Jacob; a sister, Valrena Schultze of Grove City; and two brothers, Steve Johns of Natrona Heights and Todd Johns of Adrian. Kim was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and a member of Elks Lodge 203, both in Kittanning. He was a 1972 graduate of East Brady High School, a Democratic Committee person and member of the Executive Board of the Armstrong County Democratic Party. He was on the Board of Directors of Kittanning Little League, a former softball manager and present manager in Kittanning Little League. Kim was a carpenter in the Heavy Construction Union 2274. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. A wake service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kittanning, with the Rev. Emil Payer officiating.

Joanne Jones Kalp

Joanne Jones Kalp, 56, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born May 6, 1945, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Merle and Thelma Ross Jones. She was a employee of Westmoreland County and a member of the Acme United Methodist Church. Joanne is survived by her husband, Dale E. Kalp; and two  daughters, Lori Kalp Klingensmith and her husband, Wade Jr., of Southwest Greensburg, and Michelle and her husband, Nathan Ashbaugh, of Greensburg. Friends will be received at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell & East Church streets, Ligonier, Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Audrey J. Bell officiating. Interment will be held in Stahlstown cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, S.W. Joseph Komar, 92, of Mt. Pleasant RD6, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001. He was born Oct. 5, 1909, in Mt. Pleasant Township, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Tomechko Komar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Polansky Komar, on Aug. 16, 2001; and a sister, Mary Smail. He was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, and the UMWA District 2. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a road worker for PennDOT. He is survived by nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Florian Catholic Church with the Rev. John M. Foriska as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Florian cemetery, Trauger. A wake service was held in the funeral home Wednesday at 3 p.m. Sandra L. Hoffer, funeral director.

John William Kutshinsky
Latrobe

John William Kutshinsky, 54, of Latrobe RD5, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in Unity Township. He was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Latrobe, a son of Albert W. Kutshinsky Sr. of Latrobe RD5 and the late Lydia Jean Todd Kutshinsky. John was a nuclear engineer, having served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Enterprise and formerly worked for Stone-Webster in Boston. He worked for the Literacy Council helping people to read and tutored at WCCC. In addition to his  Father, he is survived by a sister, Karen Laurene Rhome of Bradenville; and a brother, Albert W. Kutshinsky Jr. of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry, with the Rev. David D. Wilson Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
