MARIE F. BUSSMANN
Marie F. (Carr) Bussmann, 54, of North Wales, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
She was the wife of Joseph G. Bussmann Sr. They had been married for 32 years. Formerly a resident of the Lawndale section of Philadelphia for 40 years, she lived in North Wales for the past seven years.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Mary E. (Leitner) Carr. She attended St. William School, Class of 1960 and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1964. She attended Gwynedd Mercy College and graduated from Philadelphia Community College School of Nursing.
She pursued her bachelor's degree in nursing at LaSalle University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
During her nursing career, she was employed at Einstein Hospital, the VNA of Greater Philadelphia and Elm Terrace Gardens. Her first love was being a mother and wife. She was devoted to her family and friends and all the residents of Elm Terrace Gardens. Marie never thought of herself as someone special, but all those who met and knew her were aware that she was indeed a very special person, who touched the lives of so many people.
She was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Wales, where she taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes and served on the Parish Nurses Council.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Amy Ruth, Joseph G., Jr. and Holly Lynn; her sisters, M. Jacqueline Carr and Joyce McClenahan, both of Philadelphia; and her mother-in-law, Ruth B. Bussmann, of Philadelphia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday, Sept. 13 at 8:30 A.M. from the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave., (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain and her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Church in North Wales. Interment to be at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Cheltenham. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. at the funeral home. MARION B. DAVIDSON
Marion B. Davidson, 97, died September 9, 2001 in Gwynedd Square Center in Upper Gwynedd.
She had been married for 68 years to the late William Davidson, who preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Davidson resided on Cherry Street in Lansdale for 35 years prior to entering the nursing home in 1999. Prior to that, she lived in Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Emma (Bauer) Watson. She was educated at the Philadelphia High School for Girls and was a former member of the Elizabeth B. Nicholson Order of the Eastern Star in Philadelphia.
She was a member of Lansdale United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters-in-law, William A. and Mary of Warrington Twp., Richard P. and Sydney of Ambler and James S. and Iris of Souderton; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward A., in 1998. His widow, Joan Davidson of Lancaster, survives. A brother, Allen Watson, also preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service, Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 A.M. in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Derstine and Cannon avenues, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends after 9 A.M. Interment , Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

CHALMERS H. HALLMAN SR.
Chalmers H. "Chuck" Hallman Sr., 79, companion of Stella Mininger of Montgomeryville and husband of the late Virginia W. "Ginny" (Wampole) Hallman, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center-Cedar Crest, in Allentown.
He was a resident of Schoolhouse Road in Pennsburg.
Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Percy and Sadie (Heilman) Hallman. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served on the USS Boise during World War II.
He was the owner of the Sup-Erb Brush Company in Pennsburg for the past 36 years. Prior to that, he was employed at the company, which he purchased in 1965.
Mr. Hallman was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg.
He belonged to the Industrial Bowling League in Lansdale for several years and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his companion, he is survived by two sons, Gary Hallman of East Greenville and Chalmers H. "Skip" Hallman, II of Pennsburg; a daughter, Deborah Hendricks and her husband, Clark, of Sewell, NJ; a brother, Richard Heilman of Sanatoga; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville.
Interment will be in St. Mark's Lutheran cemetery in Pennsburg. Friends and relatives may call Friday morningfrom 10 to 11 A.M., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand View Hospice Program, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960.
EDWIN HOPKINS
Edwin Hopkins, husband of Lyn (Koehler) Hopkins, died August 14, 2001.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale.
ELIZABETH C. JOHNSON
Elizabeth C. Johnson, 85, of New Hanover Twp., formerly of Upper Gwynedd Twp., died at her home Monday morning, September 10, 2001.
She was the wife of the late James W. Johnson.
Born April 19, 1916 in Salem, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Kotlas) Kurian.
Mrs. Johnson had lived in the North Penn area for 59 years prior to moving to New Hanover two years ago.
She was a self-employed dress designer as well as an employee of the former Glasgo Co. in Lansdale and Spadea Patterns in New York City.
Mrs. Johnson attended Gwynedd Mercy and Ursinus Colleges and also taught pattern making at the former North Penn High School, which was located on Penn Street in Lansdale, for their evening curriculum.
She enjoyed painting portraits in oils.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Wales.
She was a member of the Lansdale Women's Business Association and the Norristown and Abington Art Leaques.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Bechtel of New Hanover Twp., with whom she resided, and Pearl Waldspurger of Cary, IL; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Martha Coyle, Mary Koenig and Margaret Whitley.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Friday, September 14, 2001, at 1:30 PM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 428 S. Main St., North Wales, where friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Interment , Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

EDNA B. LANDES
Edna B. Landes, 82, died Monday, September 10, 2001, at Souderton Mennonite Homes.
She was the widow of the late Daniel M. Landes.
The viewing hour will be Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6:00 to 7:15 PM at Doylestown Mennonite Church, 590 North Broad St., Doylestown, PA 18901. The funeral service will follow at 7:30 PM. Interment will be Thursday, at 9:00 AM, in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the address above. RONALD F. LaSPINO
Ronald F. LaSpino, 54, a resident of Harleysville for more than 20 years, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001.
He and his wife, Susanne J. (Carson) LaSpino, celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary last Feb. 1.
Born Dec. 5, 1946 in Lansdale, he was a son of Vito, Sr. and Anna (Manero) LaSpino of Harleysville. He was a 1964 graduate of the former North Penn High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. LaSpino was a self-employed carpenter.
A born again believer, he was an active member of Ridge Valley Evangelical & Reformed Brethren Church of Tylersport.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren more than anything else.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Gina R. Maloney and her husband, Jonathan P., of Kulpsville and Nichole A. Clemmer and her husband, Adam S., of Harleysville; a brother, Vito LaSpino Jr. and his wife, Judyth, of Lansdale; a sister, Sandra McIlhenny of Harleysville; and six grandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Ashley, Rebecca and Rachel Maloney and Taryn and Ronnie Clemmer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service, Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 11 AM at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, (Route 113), Franconia, where friends may call from 10 to 11 AM. VINCENT C. PAOLONE JR.
Vincent C. Paolone Jr., 48, of Lansdale, died Sept. 10, 2001 at North Penn Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1953, he was the son of Vincent C., Sr. and Rose Ann (Sciuto) Paolone of Lansdale.
He was a tradesman. An avid billiard player, he loved to fish and also loved people.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Joy Buono of Coopersburg.
Viewing hours will be at the Boyd Horrox Funeral Home, 200 West Germantown Pike in Norristown, Wednesday, from 7 to 9 PM, and Thursday, from 8 to 9 AM. BERNICE E. HOBSON
Bernice E. Hobson, 82, of the Dock Woods Community in Towamencin, formerly of Philadelphia, died Sept. 24, 2001.
She was the wife of Wilfred N. Hobson. The couple had been married for 55 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Gary, and his wife, Dianne, of East Greenville, David and his wife, Ann, of Annapolis, MD and Lee and his wife, Sharon, of Ellicott City, MD; and three grandchildren, Bradford, Sarah and Matthew.
A service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 A.M. at Christ United Church of Christ, 2200 Sumneytown Pike, P.O. Box 322, Kulpsville, PA 19443.

Demmie K. (Nice) Kelly, 56, a lifelong resident of the Indian Valley area, died Sunday evening, September 23, 2001, at her Souderton residence, following a long illness.
FLORENCE A. SALEMMO
Florence A. Salemmo, 65, of Hatfield, died Sept. 24, 2001 in Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.
She was the wife of Anthony F. Salemmo. They had observed their 45th wedding anniversary, June 2.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Alma (Nagel) Schneider. She resided in Hatfield Township since 1976.
Mrs. Salemmo worked as a cashier at Genuardi's Market in West Point. She had been an avid bowler at Town and Country Lanes in Lansdale.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, one son, Michael C. Salemmo of Albuquerque, NM; and two daughters, Lisa A. Everett of Chalfont and Diane S. Gerlack and her husband, Ron, of Woodbridge, VA. She was fond of her two granddaughters, Niki and Alyssa Everett. Also surviving is a brother, Eugene Schneider and his wife, Mary, of Warminster.
