EDWARD HOLMES
Edward Holmes, 71, of Hatfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 at Grand View Hospital.
He was the husband of Joan Moyer Holmes. They were married for 51 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Archibald and Helen (Trampe) Holmes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Edward was a member of Victory Fellowship Church of Tylersport.
Employed by Landis Supermarket in Telford for 20 years, he retired in 1990.
He was a pastor for Campers Bible Ministries for nearly 30 years, going into campgrounds in various states and holding services. He also served as the organization's president.
His hobbies were camping and his grandchildren.
He was a former Telford Borough councilman and held the position of vice-president.
Edward was a charter member of the board of directors for area Little Leagues.
He was the founder and the first scoutmaster for Perkasie Boy Scout Troop No. 88, scoutmaster for Telford Boy Scout Troop No. 14, founder and cubmaster for Telford Boy Scout Troop No. 421 and neighborhood commissioner of the Telford Boy Scouts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stephen E. Holmes and his wife, Christine, of Quakertown and Gary A. Holmes and his wife, Diana, of Franconia; a daughter, Debbie L. Bissland and her husband, Donald, of Pottstown; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Harr of Perkasie, Betty Girou and her husband, Harry, of Bethlehem, Margaret Moyer and her husband, Harold, of Sellersville and Dorothy Weider and her husband, Ralph, of Perkasie; and two brothers, Thomas Holmes and John Holmes.
Services will be at 2 P.M., Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Kantner Funeral Home, 623 W. Market St., Perkasie, where friends may call Saturday from 1 P.M. until the service time. Interment , in Trinity Lutheran cemetery in Perkasie. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Victory Fellowship Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 310, Tylersport, PA 18971.
GEORGE W. OERTER
George William Oerter, 76, a 46 year resident of Blue Bell, died September 18, 2001 at his home.
He was the husband of Elsie (Betz) Oerter, to whom he would have been married 43 years in November.
Born August 7, 1925 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Robert Nelson and Sarah (Lavinia) Oerter. A graduate of Central High School, Mr. Oerter served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then received a degree in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.
He was a retired computer programmer, employed by the former Leeds and Northrup, Fisher and Porter, and Unisys.
He was a member of the Central Schwenkfelder Church of Worcester.
Mr. Oerter was an avid bird watcher and woodworker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; two daughters, Dr. Karen Klein of San Diego, CA and Ellen R. O. Lindsey of Chicago, IL and a son, Robert N. Oerter, Ph.D. of Riverdale, MD; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John W. and Robert N. Oerter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service in Central Schwenkfelder Church, Valley Forge Road in Worcester, Friday, Sept. 21, at 1P.M. The family will receive friends following the service. Viewing and burial are private for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in George's memory. SEDAN FRASER SKINNER
Sedan Fraser Skinner, 82, of Altavista, VA, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 in Lynchburg General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Sam Skinner and was first married to the late Myers Stroman.
Born Nov. 6, 1918 in Groveton, TX, she was a daughter of the late S.B. and Ethel Mae (Jackson) Fraser.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Stroman and his wife, Carol, of Wynantskil, NY and Jack Stroman and his wife, Patricia, of Lansdale; four daughters, Annette Hearn of Columbia, SC, Catherine "Jo" Walling and her companion, George Files, of Altavista, Martha Neyhart and her husband, Richard, of Orangeburg, SC and S.L. "Tracy" Kopchak of Altavista; one brother, William B. Fraser and his wife of Bishopville, SC; four sisters, Martha F. Hahn of Columbia, Jane F. Bowen of Greenville, SC, Rosemary F. Hasbrouck of Richmond, VA and Grace F. Beene of Texas; a sister-in-law, Louisa Frazier of Bishopville; a brother-in-law, John Taylor of Boiling Springs, NC; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; and a great-great-grandson.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 P.M., Sunday, Sept. 22 in Finch & Finch Chapel in Altavista, by the Rev. Fletcher Rawls and the Rev. Joseph Hallman. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Altavista Life Saving Crew, P.O. Box 1, Altavista, VA 24517.
RONALD A. WHITE SR.
Ronald A. White Sr., 72, a 35 year resident of Lansdale, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 in Temple University Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara A. White, in 1999.
Born in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Albert Renford and Martha (Schubert) White. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. After being honorably discharged in 1949, he attended Duffs Iron City College in Pittsburgh where he attained an associate's degree in business administration.
In 1956 Mr. White was named secretary for the Borough of Canonsburg. He assumed the position of secretary for Lansdale Borough in 1969, continuing until his retirement in 1971.
During his retirement he was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by four children, Deborah Madonna and her husband, Bruce Wilson, of Philadelphia, Ronald A. White Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Lansdale, William A. White of Phoenix, AZ, and Daniel G. White and his wife, Karen, of Lansdale; and four grandchildren, Michael and Kathleen White and Samantha and Ryan Wilson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 A.M. in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home in Lansdale, where friends may call after 10 A.M. Interment , Greenlawn cemetery.

Horace Wright, 84, died September 10, 2001 at his home in Seal Beach, CA.
ELIZABETH R. BRADBURY
Elizabeth R. Bradbury, 80, of Norristown, died Oct. 4, 2001 at the North Penn Convalescent Home.
She was the wife of Burke Bradbury Jr.
Born in Orono, ME, she was the daughter of the late Donald P. and Myrtle (Pratt) Richardson. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, she served as a secretary to a general in Washington, DC, during World War II.
Mrs. Bradbury was a housewife.
She was a very active member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, where she formerly served as an elder and taught Sunday school for several years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Bradbury of Greenville, SC and Donald G. Bradbury of Quakertown; and four grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, Oct. 13 at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 350 W. Ridge Pike, Norristown, PA 19403, where the family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:00 A.M. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. ROBERT J. DAVIS SR.
Robert J. Davis Sr., 65, of Harleysville, died Monday morning, October 8, 2001, at North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp.
He was the husband of Deborah (Rathburn) Davis.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late William P., Sr. and Earlmond (Cunning) Davis. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War. He graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Mr. Davis was the founding president of Specialty Filtration Products Inc. of Perkasie, which was founded in 1979.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Kulpsville.
Mr. Davis was a loving and caring Father.
In addition to his wife of 16 years, he is survived by the following children, Robert J. Davis Jr. and his wife, Anastasia, of Ft. Polk, LA, Edward Price Davis of Denver, CO, Marjorie B. Wheeler and her husband, Kevin, of Moorestown, NJ, Katherine J. Banks of Buies Creek, NC, and Michael O. Banks and his wife, Claire, of Basking Ridge, NJ; two sisters, Caroline Davis Brown and Sally Ann Davis, both of Ashland, NY; one brother, William P. Davis and his wife, Ann, of Perkasie; and seven grandchildren.

William I. Freeman, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center in Richlandtown.
ADA F. GROFF
Ada F. Groff, 81, of Willow Valley Community in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, formerly of Harleysville, died Oct. 9, 2001 at the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Groff, in 1996.
Born in Lederach, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Katie (Benner) Fretz.
She was employed by the former Gra-Brams Meats of Harleysville. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
Mrs. Groff was a charter member of Calvary Church of Souderton, where she was a Sunday school teacher for the two and three year olds for more than 30 years.
She is survived by a son, Steven R. Groff and his wife, Karen C., of Willow Street; a daughter, Laurie J. Kenney and her husband, Thomas J., of Milan; a twin brother, Asher Fretz and his wife, Verna, of Souderton; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Fretz.

WILLIAM C. HARTZELL
William C. Hartzell, 79, of Telford, died Sunday, October 7, 2001, in Allentown Sacred Heart Hospital, where he was a medical patient for one week.
He and his wife, Florence A. (Onstott) Hartzell, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in July.
Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late William Henry and Eva (Schafer) Hartzell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Hartzell was employed as a floorman for the former Weaver Steel Co. of Lansdale for 23 years, and later worked for Bergey's Inc. of Franconia for 10 years.
He was a member of Little Zion Lutheran Church, Telford.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William W. Hartzell of Telford; a grandson, Chris Hartzell; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alexis Hartzell.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Hartzell.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, at 3:30 PM in Little Zion Lutheran Church, Morwood and Bergey roads, Telford. Arrangements are by the David R. Sadler Funeral Home in Telford.
