MABEL P. HENDRICKS
Mabel P. Hendricks, 90, died Friday, August 24, 2001, at her Green Lane residence. She was the wife of Marvin H. Hendricks for 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Annie Gross.
Viewing hours are Wednesday, from 12:30 to 1:45 PM, at Wellspring Church of Skippack, formerly Upper Skippack, 1183 Cressman Rd., Skippack. Thefuneral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial in adjoining cemetery. Arrangements are by the Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home in Souderton.

Patricia A. Jelinski, 56, of Franconia Township, died August 25, 2001 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp.
EDITH SAYLOR
Edith (Hartzel) Saylor, 93, died Sunday morning, Aug. 26, 2001, in the skilled nursing unit of Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Twp. She was the wife of the late Melvin B. Saylor, who died in 1983. A former longtime resident of Colmar, she lived in Lansdale for 14 years before moving to the Rockhill Mennonite Community in 1991.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Russell M. and Elsie D. (Frick) Hartzel. She graduated from the former Doylestown High School, Class of 1925, and from Hood College in Frederick, MD in 1929.
When she was younger, Mrs. Saylor taught school for several years in Prospect Park, Delaware County. She then worked in the offices of the former F.D. Hartzel & sons, Inc., her late Father's businesses in Lansdale and Colmar. In 1961, she retired from the office of Central Sprinkler in Lansdale after 10 years of service.
Mrs. Saylor was a longtime member of Montgomery Baptist Church in Colmar, where she served as financial secretary for 25 years, was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir.
She was a past president of the PTA at the former Hatfield Joint Consolidated School and volunteered for 15 years for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean D. Shaw of Wapakoneta, OH; a son, M. Charles Saylor and his wife, Lucy, of Rahns; 10 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and lifelong friends, Victoria and Stanley Kober of the Rockhill Mennonite Community.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, J. Franklin Hartzel, in June of 2001.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 1 PM in Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home in Lansdale, where the family will greet friends after 12:30 PM. Interment , Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Montgomery Baptist Church Missions Fund, 510 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, PA 18915.

Robert J. Bynon Sr., 86, of Collegeville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, in Montgomery Hospital, Norristown. He was the widower of Mildred (Shire) Bynon.

Myrtle H. Duckworth, 84, of Hatfield, died August 31, 2001 in ManorCare Heath Services, Montgomery Township. She was the wife of Elwood S. Duckworth. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary January 25th.
EMMA K. HACKMAN
Emma K. Hackman, 79, of Pennsburg Manor Inc., died Friday, August 31, 2001, in the Manor's skilled nursing unit, where she had been a patient for several years. She was the wife of 43 years to Laaden M. Hackman, who died in September of 1990.

Eleanor S. Rothenberger, age 81, formerly of Lansdale, died Aug. 31, 2001. She was the wife of the late Stanley K. Rothenberger
OLGA ZERBENSKI
Olga Zerbenski, 75, of Lansdale, died Friday, August 31, 2001, in her home. Formerly of Spring House, she lived at her Lansdale address since 1976.
BERNEICE JONES
Berneice (Talley) Jones, 81, of Tylersport, formerly of Telford, died Aug. 28, 2001, at her home. She was the wife of 55 years of Charles E. Jones, formerly of Winnebago, IL.
THOMAS L. RICHARDS
Thomas L. Richards, 84, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001 in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Elizabeth (Munkenbeck) Richards, in 1998. Formerly of Ambler and Lansdale, he lived at Gwynedd Estates in Lower Gwynedd for 22 years.
Born in Fort Washington, he was a son of the late David and Frances (Edwards) Richards. He graduated from the former Ambler High School, Class of 1935.
Mr. Richards had been employed as a supervisor by the former Keasbey & Mattison Co. in Ambler. He retired about 1980 from Penn Mutual Insurance Co. in Philadelphia.
He was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Fort Washington. He enjoyed sports.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Margaret Bendernagel and Jean Munkenbeck, both of Spring House.
A funeral service for relatives and friends will be Friday, Sept. 7, at 11 A.M. in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, where friends may call after 10:30 A.M. Interment , Beulah cemetery. JACOB M. ALDERFER
Jacob M. Alderfer, 88, formerly of Souderton, died Monday, April 16, 2001 at the Rockhill Mennonite Community in West Rockhill, where he had lived since 1986. He was the husband of Sadie (Gehman) Alderfer for 66 years.
Born in Souderton, he was the son of the late Clement and Martha (Alderfer) Alderfer.
As a younger man, he was employed as a knitter by the former Granite Hosiery Mill in Souderton. Later, he was a vacuum tester at U.S. Gauge in Sellersville and a milk deliveryman for the former West View Dairy of Souderton. His other pursuits included delivering gas for the former Farm Bureau of Souderton, selling produce, poultry, eggs and meats as a commission merchant in Delaware County and managing the Goshow Jewelry Store in Quakertown. Most recently, he was an oil burner serviceman for Farm and Home Co. in Sellersville.
Mr. Alderfer was an avid golfer and enjoyed flying his own airplane.
He was a charter member of Calvary Church of Souderton and helped with the construction of the original building.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Rodney L. Alderfer and his wife, Rae, of Harleysville; two daughters, Charlene Judie Clymer and her husband, James H., of Loveland, CO and Zoie Rae Fitzsimmons and her husband, Raymond, of Newtown Square; nine grandchildren; five great-grand children; and one sister, Sally Ruth and her husband, Winfield, of Sellersville.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Florence Kulp, Miriam Stover, Bertha Gross and Marian Filling.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7 P.M. in the chapel of the Rockhill Mennonite Community, 3250 State St., West Rockhill. The funeral service will follow at 7 P.M. Interment will be in Calvary Church of Souderton cemetery. Arrangements are by the Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home in Souderton.
IRENE R. KRIEBEL
Irene R. (Reiff) Kriebel, a homemaker, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the Dock Woods Community in Towamencin Twp., at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude K. Kriebel, in 1987. Formerly of Lansdale, she resided at Dock Woods for the past nine years.
RAYMOND J. STROUP
Raymond J. "Ray" Stroup, 57, died early Tuesday morning, April 17, 2001, at the home of his mother in Lower Salford, with whom he had lived for the past year, due to his illness. He was under hospice care. An area resident for most of his life, he lived in Lower Salford for about three years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Anna (Hackenberg) Stoup and the late Raymond R. Stroup. He graduated from Souderton Area High School, Class of 1961.
He had been employed as a deliveryman and later in the office of the former Jonns East Furniture Store in Montgomeryville. Prior to that, he was a driver for Krupp Myers and Hoffman in Lansdale.
Mr. Stroup was an avid flower gardener and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Kulpsville.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Christopher Stroup and his wife, Linda, of Harleysville; a daughter, Tanya Dunning and her husband, David, of Lansdale; his former wife, Sofia Stroup of Lansdale; and two sisters, Lucille Hedrick and her husband, Wilmer, of Telford and Saundra Undercoffler and her husband, James, of Denver, CO. Several generations of nieces and nephews also survive.

DOROTHY MAE BURKE
Dorothy Mae Burke, 84, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in ManorCare Health Services in Montgomery Twp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward K. Burke, in 1983. Formerly of North Wales, Lansdale and Hatfield, she lived in Fleetwood prior to entering ManorCare.
Born in Upper Gwynedd, she was the daughter of the late Reuben D. and Rose (Smith) Disdale.
As a younger woman, she was employed by the former American Olean Tile Co. in Lansdale and had also been an Avon Lady. An excellent seamstress, she worked from her home, sewing not only for family and friends but also professionally for weddings and bar mitzvahs .
Surviving are two sons, Edward "Jerry" Burke and his wife, Peggy, of Souderton and Norman P. Burke and his wife, Jane, of Perkasie; and four daughters, Dorothy M. Grosch and her husband, Charles, of Quakertown, Bonny L. Miner and her husband, Ronald, of Hatfield, Judi Morrell and her husband, William, of Holland and Marie A. Turner and her husband, Michael, of Elkridge, MD. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grand-children; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Daniel Burke, in 1957.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Derstine and Cannon Avenues in Lansdale, Monday, May 28 after 7 P.M., and attend the service at 8 P.M. Interment will be Tuesday at 12:30 P.M. in Greenlawn cemetery, Upper Gwynedd.

DARLENE J. MAHURIN
Darlene J. Mahurin, 63, of Orefield, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at her home. She was the wife of the Rev. Ronald C. Mahurin. They celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary last September.
Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Eleanor M. (Bauman) Wild of Orefield and the late Russell Wild. She attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and Eastern Michigan State Teacher's College in Ypsilanti, MI.
Mrs. Mahurin was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church in Allentown and a past member of Bethany Bible Fellowship Church in Hatfield and Denville Bible Fellowship Church in Denville, NJ. She was very active in the women's ministry, children's ministry and counseling. She taught women's Bible study and leadership seminars at all three churches, for a total of 44 years.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Ronald P. Mahurin of Silver Spring, MD and Timothy A. Mahurin of Alburtis; three daughters, Laura L. Klase of Orefield, Stacy L. Miller of Safford, AZ and Melissa J. Adams of Emmaus; and 23 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 24, at 7 P.M. in Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, PA 18103. Calling hours are 5 to 7 P.M., Thursday, at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church memorial fund at the address above. Arrangements are by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home Inc. in Allentown.

Abigail Ann "Abbey" Myers, age 25, of Perkasie, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001 in the emergency room of Jersey Shore Hospital in Jersey Shore.

Frieda Mielke, 78, of Telford, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital.
HELEN M. ROSENBERGER
Helen M. Rosenberger, age 86, died Sunday, July 22, 2001 at Normandy Farms Estates, Blue Bell.
Born in North Wales on February 4, 1915, she was the devoted daughter of James Abram Rosenberger and Marietta Beam Rosenberger. Miss Rosenberger lived in North Wales until moving to Normandy Farms in 1984. She graduated from North Wales High School in 1932.
As a life-long member of North Wales Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School, was active in a Women's Circle, and, at one time, served as the church's Treasurer. She retired from the American Baptist Convention in King of Prussia after sixteen years of service and had also worked at the former Kleen Products in North Wales and Coatesville.
Miss Rosenberger enjoyed knitting and needlework and and made lap quilts and blankets to donate to charity.
She is survived by her brothers William C. Rosenberger, husband of the late Amena Rosenberger of Normandy Farms Estates, J. Arthur Rosenberger and his wife Vivian of Alexandria VA, G. Ralph Rosenberger and his wife Jean of Martinsburg, PA, and Albert P. Rosenberger and his wife Edith of Gibsonia, PA, two nieces and four nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
