LOIS T. YOCUM
Lois T. Yocum, 65, of Hilltown Twp., died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. She was the wife of Earl J. Yocum. The couple had celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on October 6, 2000.
Born in West Rockhill Twp., she was the daughter of the late Willis D. "Smokey" and Mamie (Smith) Trauger. She was a 1953 graduate of the former Sell-Perk High School.
Mrs. Yocum had worked for many years as the secretary for Yocum Electric, West Rockhill Twp. From 1953 to 1958, she worked for the Pennridge School District in the high school office.
Mrs. Yocum was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Sellersville, where she had been the church organist since the church was founded in 1961.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Cindy L. Rhoads and her husband, Richard F., of Sellersville and Gail R. Eberhardt and her husband, Michael J., of Perkasie; a son, Mark D. Yocum and his wife, Marianne, of Richlandtown; and four grandchildren, Lauren and Joshua Rhoads and Carolyn and Natalie Eberhardt.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral services to be held Friday, July 27, at 7 PM in Faith Baptist Church, 700 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Interment will be in St. Stephen's United Church of Christ cemetery in Perkasie. Friends may call Friday evening from 5 to 6:45 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Faith Christian Academy Teacher Benefit Fund, at the above address. EDITH G. HECKLER
Edith G. (Greaser) Heckler, 81, passed away late Monday evening, July 30, 2001, at Souderton Mennonite Homes, where she had resided since May of last year.
She was the wife of the late Paul K. Heckler, who passed away in 1963.
Born Sept. 26, 1919 in Skippack, she was a daughter of the late Quay Z. and Sarah (Grater) Greaser. She resided in Souderton almost her entire life.
Mrs. Heckler had been employed for numerous years at Deli Shop West in Souderton and had formerly been a cashier at EMC Elementary School in Souderton.
She was a longtime active member of Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, but more than anything, spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, P. Scott Heckler and his wife, Lynne A., of Salford; a daughter, Dorothy J. Tyson and her husband, Robert E., of Schwenksville; four sisters, Dorothy Harrar and her husband, Thomas, of Hatfield, Eleanor Hagan and her husband, Elmer, of Colmar, Bernice Gilmore and her husband, Ronald, of Souderton and Dawn Detweiler of Kissimmee, FL; a brother, Leroy Greaser and his wife, Gloria, of Telford; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Greaser.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service Monday, Aug. 6, at 11 AM at Zion Mennonite Church, 149 Cherry Lane, Souderton. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, PA 18964. ALFRED F. MOEHRLE
Alfred F. Moehrle, age 78, of Doylestown, PA, died at Doylestown Hospital on Tuesday, July 31, 2001.
He was the husband of Ruth J. (Tasker) Moehrle, with whom he celebrated their 53rd Wedding Anniversary last December.
Born in Nonnenhorn, Germany, he was the son of the late Richard and Elsa (Zerwick) Moehrle.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army as a Technical Sergeant in the 1151st Engineer Combat Group. His military specialty was in Intelligence. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the American Campaign Medal.
He graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY.
Mr. Moehrle retired in 1998 as a Quality Control Manager for PCI in Philadelphia, a pharmaceutical packaging company.
He was a voracious reader, a gourmet cook, as well as enjoying photography and horticulture.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Ruth Pastori and her husband Michael of Buckingham, Elizabeth Blasko and her husband Robert of Riegelsville, PA and Gretchen Moehrle of Easton, PA, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Walter, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Pastori.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, August 3, 2 PM at Bethany Bible Fellowship Church, 75 W. Broad St., Hatfield, PA 19440. The family will receive friends after 1 PM. Interment , Doylestown cemetery.

DANIELLE N. PETTER
Danielle N. Petter, 18, of Souderton, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. She had undergone a heart transplant in August of 1998 and had been experiencing ongoing difficulties.
Born in Abington, she was a daughter of Leroy A. Petter, and Eugene M. and Carol L. (Hunsberger) Nycum of Souderton.
Ms. Petter would have been in the senior class at Souderton Area High School this fall. Prior to her health problems, she was active in the school band, color guard and cheerleaders. One of her special interests was cosmetology.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansdale.
In addition to her parents, survivors include two sisters, Melissa and Jennifer Petter, both of Souderton; one nephew, Justas Petter of Souderton; her maternal grandparents, Florence and Ira Hunsberger of Chalfont; aunt Shirley and uncle Bob of the Chalfont area; and other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 6 to 9 PM at the Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home, 130 E. Broad St., (Rt. 113) Souderton and Thursday, from 9 to 10 AM, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale. There will not be a viewing. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery, Telford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, to assist with medical expenses, may be made payable to Eugene and Carol Nycum and sent to 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964.
E. MERRILL PFLUEGERE.
Merrill Pflueger, age 88, died August 11, 2001, in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. A former longtime resident of Oreland, he moved to Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale five years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Virginia (Rogers) Pflueger in 1982.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Edwin H. Pflueger, M.D. and Cora (Myers) Pflueger.
He graduated from Simon Gratz High School and attended Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Mr. Pflueger operated a service station on Ogontz Avenue in the city for about 20 years. During WWII he was employed with the Budd Company and later worked in plant engineering with Wilmot Fleming and the Biddle Engineering Companies.
Mr. Pflueger loved to drive. He was creative and built an electric car that he enjoyed.
Surviving are four children; Susan P. Benner of North Hills, Judith L. Wilson, M.D. and her husband, Gary, of Collegeville, Andrew M. Pflueger and his wife, Barbara, of Lansdale, Dorothy P. Koehrsen and her husband, Paul D., of Hong Kong; eleven grandchildren.

WESLEY A. RACE
Wesley A. Race, age 90, died August 11, 2001, in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. He was the husband of Dorothy (Alderfer) Race. They had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on April 1st. Mr. Race lived at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale since 1998, moving there from Chalfont where he resided about 20 years. Before that he was a longtime resident of Lansdale.
Born in Germantown, he was the son of the late Martin Lewis and Julia (Adkin) Race.
Mr. Race graduated from Hilltown High School in 1931, attended Temple University and graduated from the Philadelphia Textile College.
During WWII he worked for the Army Engineers in Philadelphia. Following this he was self employed in painting and paperhanging and later worked for Philco in Lansdale. In his later years he was employed with Clemens Market in New Britain.
Mr. Race was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Lansdale since 1924. He had been a Sunday school teacher and superintendent and also served on the Vestry. He was also a member of Shiloh Lodge No. 558 F & AM, Lansdale.
Mr. Race liked to garden. He also enjoyed spending time doing needlepoint, latchwork and crossword puzzles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children; David Race and his wife, Beverley, of Lansdale, Julia McKenney and her husband, John, of Newtown, D. Elaine Warren and her husband, Joseph, of Easton, Marilyn Feusner and her husband, Donn, of Perkasie, Phyllis Brennan and her husband, Charles, of North Wales; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kerstan; and two grandsons, Michael McKenney and Joseph Warren.

MARY E. SCATTON
Mary E. Scatton, 75, of Lansdale, died August 11, 2001, in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M. Scatton, in 1991. Mrs. Scatton lived in the Lansdale area for 37 years.
Born in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, she was one of 12 children born to the the late Waltert Edward and Mary Madaline (Waggoner) Forney. She was valedictorian of the business program at Hershey High School upon her graduation.
Mrs. Scatton was a an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, Lansdale and participated in the United Methodist Women, the Rebecca Circle and Church Women United. For more than 20 years she was a member of the Auxiliary of the Towamencin Volunteer Fire Co.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are five children; a son, David R. Scatton of Telford; four daughters, Patricia A. Scatton of Quakertown, Barbara S. Lauro and her husband, Kirk, of North Wales, Sharon M. Scatton of Lansdale, and Brenda S. Hild and her husband, Douglas, of East Greenville; three grandchildren, Erica, Tyler and Marshall Hild; one brother, Wilson Forney of New Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Scatton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service Wednesday, August 15, at 11 AM in Christ United Methodist Church, 1020 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale. Interment , Greenlawn cemetery. Friends may call at the church Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 PM or Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 AM.

MILDRED B. WACKERMAN
Mildred B. Wackerman, age 92, of West Rockhill Twp., and formerly of Sellersville, died Saturday, August 11, 2001, in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Twp. She was the wife of the late John Wackerman, who died in March 1950.
MARY C. WENHOLD
Mary C. Wenhold, 65, of Edgemont Avenue in Quakertown, died Saturday, August 11, 2001, in her home. She was the wife of the late Donald C. Wenhold.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Wohl) MacGillivray. She was a graduate of Quakertown Community High School, Class of 1953 and in 1988 received a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from Gwynedd Mercy College.
She was the Director of Accounting for Gwynedd Mercy College in Gwynedd from 1985 to the present. Previously, she worked in the accounts receivable department of Delaware Valley College, Doylestown and was controller for the former Crouthamel Potato Chip Co. of Quakertown.
She was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and served as a soloist. She was a member of the the Voices of Gwynedd, a choir composed of staff, faculty and students from Gwynedd Mercy College.
During the Korean Conflict she worked with the USO as a member of the Allentown Metro Opera. She was an accomplished and well known local vocalist, performing at many weddings, funerals and charities. She sang the Canadian National Anthem for the Philadelphia Flyers and Fire/Police Officers benefit game and recorded a song on a cassette produced to benefit a local youth who had suffered from the flesh eating bacteria. She also recorded with the local Cantata Singers.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Ann, wife of John Schoenly of Quakertown; four sons, Donald E. and his wife, Kim, and Brian N., all of Quakertown, Kevin J. and his wife, Beverly, of Easton, and Sean P. of Media; three sisters, Marguerite, wife of Emmanuel Mesel, and Dr. Anna, wife of Larry Graham, all of Tucson, AZ and Kathleen, wife of Joseph Rittenhouse of Quakertown; and two grandsons, Jason and Michael.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday, Aug. 16, in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Quakertown. Interment will follow in the Parish cemetery, Quakertown. Helen Louise Winslow, 61, died Thursday, August 9, 2001, following a long illness, in Ashtabula County Nursing Home, North Kingsville, Ohio.
NANCY A. BARNDT
Nancy A. Barndt, 68, of Souderton, died Aug. 2, 2001 at her residence, following a struggle with cancer.
She was the wife of 44 years to J. Roy B. "Barney" Barndt, who died in April of 1999.
Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late John Warren and Eva H. (Nyce) Allebach. She had resided at her current address for more than 36 years.
Mrs. Barndt was a homemaker for most of her life. For 10 years, she worked in the Grand View Hospital Children's Center in West Rockhill, for early childhood education. Since 1999, she worked in the Bux-Mont Oncological Unit of Sellersville.
She was a longtime, active member of Little Zion Lutheran Church in Telford, where she served on the Altar Guild. She volunteered at Grand View Hospital for many years. She belonged to the Auxiliary of the Lutheran Community At Telford and the Perkasie Historical Society.
She is survived by a son, James A. Barndt and his wife, Patricia, of Souderton; three daughters, Cindy A. Linse and her husband, John W., and Sheri A. Detweiler and her husband, Christopher W., all of Souderton, and Connie A. Barndt and her husband, Guy LaRue, of Marysville, WA; three grandchildren, Connor and Alec Linse and Tahlia E. Detweiler; two brothers, Warren N. Allebach of Lansdale and Paul N. Allebach and his wife, Nancy, of Tylersport; and a sister, Shirley A. Marles and her husband, Frederick, of Perkasie.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 7 P.M. in Little Zion Lutheran Church, Morwood and Bergey roads, Telford. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment was private at the convenience of the family in the adjoining cemetery. Those desiring, may make memorials in her memory to the Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960. LEROY C. CROUTHAMEL
Leroy C. Crouthamel, age 70, died at his residence in Emmaus, August 13, 2001.
He was the son of the late Milton and Martha (Ott) Crouthamel.
He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was wounded just prior to the end of the war. He received the Korean Service Medal, and Infantry Badge, the Presidential Unit Citation and the United Nations Service Medal.
His only immediate relative is his late brother Milton's daughter, Nancy Schnabel, and her children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 17, 2:15 P.M. at Hatfield cemetery, Penn Avenue, Hatfield.
