DOROTHY H. CRAMER
Dorothy H. Cramer, 100, of North Irwin, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at her home. She was born July 28, 1899, in Bagley, Iowa, a daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Fitz Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Cramer; three brothers , Paul, Sterling and Bryce Anderson; and five sisters , Blanche Mingus, Winona Adams, Frances Bass, Kathryn Edgington and Maurine Anderson. She is survived by a son, James Cramer and his wife, Dorothy, of Skidmore, Texas ; two daughters , Mrs. Benito (Mary) Cottone of North Irwin and Linda Legere of Sarasota, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; several great-grandchildren and stepgreat- grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rose Wilson; and nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Leslie D. Detar, 69, of Adamsburg, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at home. He was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Irwin, a son of the late Chester Detar and Sara Ritson Detar McClintock Wisser. He was employed as a greenskeeper for Westmoreland Country Club. He was a member of Brush Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hempfield Township, and the Collier Hunting Camp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Saddler. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Oplinger Detar; two sons , James L. Detar of Dover, Pa., and Richard A. Detar of Lancaster; a daughter, Kathleen A. Kunkle of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Tiffanie, Timothy and Nicole Kunkle; a sister, Donna Lauffer of Elyria, Ohio; three half sisters , Patty Jones, Faye Tiech and Norma Griffin, all of Ohio; a half brother, Norman "Dan" Detar of Oklahoma ; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Henry Taliercio of Word of Life Ministries, Greensburg, officiating. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
NANCY RUTH MARTINI DIERS
Nancy Ruth Martini Diers, 46, of Bakersfield, Calif., died Sunday, June 4, 2000. She was born April 16, 1954, the daughter of Fred "Nundo" and June Condo Martini of Penn Township. She was employed by Wesco Inc. in Bakersfield, Calif., and was a graduate of Penn-Trafford High School in 1973. She was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Martini, in 1991. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Ruth Condo of Jeannette; two sons , Beau and Brandon Diers of Fremont, Neb.; two brothers , Jimmy Joe and wife, Carol Martini, of Jeannette and Mark and wife, Judi Martini, of Penn Township; and nieces, Juliann Martini and Brenda Veverka of Jeannette and Stephaine and Laura Martini of Penn Township. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.

David C. "Red" Geiger, 65, of Pitcairn, died Saturday, June 10, 2000. Husband of Margaret R. McKenzie Geiger; Father of Susan E. (husband, Mark) Bogonovich of Pitcairn; and brother of Bernard M. Geiger of Denver, Colo. David was a member of First Baptist Church of Monroeville. Before retiring, he was employed by Backus Motor Co. of Pitcairn for 35 years. Judith Grant Horan, 56, of Monessen, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2000, in the Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Clyde E. Jones, 83, of Norvelt, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at his home. He was born March 8, 1917, in Whitney, a son of the late Alvy and Emma Lisbon Jones. He was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Greensburg, and a past member of the Laryngectomy Club. He retired in 1979 from the Elliott Co., Jeannette. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters , Bessie Sherrow, Freda Verneau and Hetty Bell Jones; and two brothers , David and Donald Jones. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Porterfield Jones of Norvelt; two daughters , Sharon Smith and Hope Jones (and William Dempsey), all of Norvelt; a sister, Jean Davis of Norvelt; and six grandchildren, Barbara Jean Smith, Tina Matevish, Robert Smith, Christopher Jones, Cory Jones and Brandon Dempsey. Friends will be received at the JAY A. MAUREEN E. (JONES) LOBALZO
Maureen E. (Jones) Lobalzo, 64, of Bakerstown, ended her fight with cancer on Friday, June 9, 2000, at UPMC Passavant. Born Sept. 17, 1935, a daughter of the late Richard and Eleanor (Boyle) Jones. Wife of the late Henry J. "Lou" Lobalzo, who died in 1992. Beloved mother of P. Michael Lobalzo of University Place, Wash., and Elizabeth and her husband, John A. Setzenfand, of Saxonburg. Two sisters , Dorothy Vidra of Annapolis, Md., and Virginia Neiber of Atlanta, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Sarah Marie Setzenfand. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 6 p.m. in Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church with Father John P. Maloney as celebrant. Interment will be private at Bakerstown Cemetery. Mrs. Lobalzo was a registered pediatric nurse, a graduate of Shadyside Nursing School and a member of Holy Sepulcher Catholic Church. Thomas B. Mashey, 58, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Gibsonia, died suddenly Tuesday, May 16, 2000. Beloved Father of Edward T. Mashey of Penn Hills, James A. Mashey of Penn Hills and Lynn Mashey of Asheboro, N.C.; grandfather of Meghan, Melanie and Justin Mashey; and loving and caring companion of Mary Kilpatrick of New Port Richey, Fla. Harold C. Piper, 72, of Latrobe RD4, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at home. He was born May 8, 1928, in Cook Township, a son of the late Albert C. and Minerva Piper Piper. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Standard Steel, Latrobe, and was a union mechanic for Carpenters Local 333 of New Kensington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert C. Jr.; and two grandchildren. Harold is survived by his wife, Shirley M. Rupert Piper; six sons , Larry and his wife, Nora, of Sligo, Harold C. Jr. and his wife, Stacie, of Ligonier, Clayton and his wife, Teresa, Albert and his wife, Nancy, Leroy and his wife, Erin, and Bryan and his wife, Angela, all of Latrobe; three daughters , Mrs. James (Sandra) McKeel, Mrs. John (Joyce) David and Mrs. Craig (Becky) Stairs, all of Latrobe; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger and his wife, Mary, of Latrobe; three sisters , Mrs. Ralph (Patricia) Campbell Jr. and Mrs. Donald (Thelma) Overly, both of Latrobe, and Mrs. Charles (Geraldine) Olinger of New Bethlehem; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann Roman, of Saltsburg RD3 (Loyalhanna Township), died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at her home. She was born in Foster (Indiana County), a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Valgas Roman. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Slickville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters , Dorothy Roman in infancy and Mary L. Tkach in 1988; and by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Virginia Hall Roman Sr., in 1994. She is survived by a sister, Josephine Roman, with whom she resided; eight nieces and nephews, Judy and Franklin Doverspike of Salina, John and Kim Roman of Clarksburg, Donna Lee Rhoades of Carlisle, Beverly and Ed Vozar of Delmont, Tammy and Joe Wilson of Nowrytown, Tom and Leslie Roman of Saltsburg, Steve and Sheila Roman of Avonmore and Mike and Felicia Roman of Saltsburg; a number of grandnieces and grandnephews; and her best friend and "adopted sister" Kay Cicio of Saltsburg RD3. Julia V. Sheffler, 92, of Greensburg, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in the St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 12, 1908, in Export, a daughter of the late Anton and Mary Hribar. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Sheffler, on Aug. 2, 1989; and by several brothers and sisters . She is survived by two sons , Thomas B. and his wife, Charlene Sheffler, of North Springfield, Va., and Dr. Alvin W. and his wife, Frances Sheffler, of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Dr. Thomas J. Sheffler of San Francisco, Calif., Gregory J. Sheffler of Oakton, Va., David A. Sheffler of West Palm Beach, Fla., Laura Kuzniar and Carissa Sheffler, both of Chicago, Ill.; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. WAYNE WHITE
Wayne "Slats" White , 74, of Jones Mills, died suddenly Saturday, June 10, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born April 13, 1926, in Melcroft, a son of the late Gilbert H. and Nellie Brown White . Wayne was a lifelong resident of the Jones Mills area and was an owner/partner in the White Lumber Company in Champion. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Donegal VFW Post 6743. He attended the County Line Church of the Brethren in Champion. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy J. Cunnard White ; a son, Douglas White of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Valerie White , also of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters, Ashleigh and Andrea White , both of Acme; two brothers , Bernard White of Jones Mills and Paul White and his wife, Nancy, of Indian Head; and a sister, Fern McGinley of Acme. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers , Reed and Merle White .
