CARRIE M. HAWK
Carrie M. "Mimi" Hawk, 100, a longtime Lansdale resident, recently of Quakertown, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester R. Hawk, in 1957.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, she was the last surviving of 16 children of the late Henry and Sadie Mease. She moved to Lansdale from Allentown in 1941 and had earlier lived in Schuylkill Haven and Cressona.
Mrs. Hawk was a cashier in the cafeteria of the former Philco plant when it was located in Upper Gwynedd.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Boyertown.
Mrs. Hawk is survived by a daughter, Virginia Pomeroy, of Quakertown with whom she resided; a son, Lester Hawk, of Quakertown; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Scheetz; sons-in-law Paul Scheetz and Charles Hensel, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service Tuesday, April 3 at 1:00 PM in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Derstine and Cannon Avenues, Lansdale, where friends may call noon to 1:00 PM. Interment Greenlawn cemetery, Upper Gwynedd.
ROBERT H. BRICKER
Robert H. Bricker, 80, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at his Kintnersville residence. He was the husband of Eleanore (Shumard) Bricker. The couple had been married for 59 years.
Born in Jeffersonville, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Julia (Dennis) Bricker. A resident of Lansdale for many years, he graduated from the former Lansdale High School. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as a sergeant during WW II.
Following the war, he worked at his Father's company, Charles H. Bricker Studebaker. During the 1950s, he was a Lansdale Police Officer. Following that, he was employed as a mechanic by J.L. Freed Cadillac in Hatfield Township and retired in 1986.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Robert J. Bricker of Langhorne and Jacalynne L. Dieterichs of New Britain; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services and interment will be private at the request of the family. Arrangements are by the Wittmaier-Scanlin Funeral Home Ltd., in Chalfont.
PANSY H. STEIGERWALT
Pansy H. Steigerwalt, age 76, of Harleysville, Montgomery County, died Wednesday morning, April 18, 2001 at Grand View Hospital in West Rockhill, after being stricken at her residence. She was the wife of Russell Adam Steigerwalt, to whom she was married for 58 years.
CHARLES R. STREHLE
Charles R. Strehle, 69, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, April 17, 2001, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. He was the husband of Sally L. (Wenzel) Strehle and they would have observed their 38th wedding anniversary in June. He lived in North Wales before moving to Colmar 20 years ago.
He was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Albert John, Sr. and Esther (Danzeisen) Strehle. He graduated from West Chester University and served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Strehle taught mathematics in Springfield Twp., Montgomery County, for 37 years, retiring in 1991. For some of that time he served as department chair and athletic director of the junior high school.
He was an active member and elder of Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, Upper Gwynedd and a past commodore of the Greater Wildwood Yacht Club.
He loved gardening and following the Phillies. He especially enjoyed attending their spring training games in Clearwater, FL. He also enjoyed volunteering at Habitat for Humanity in Norristown. Giving back to his community was very important to him.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Strehle is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Viscusi and her husband, Jim, of Lansdale; a son, Robert G. Strehle and his wife, Lisa, of Charlotte, NC; and three grandchildren, Sara, and James Viscusi and Kayla Strehle. Also surviving are a sister, Esther Hendricks and her husband, Donald, of Boyertown; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Strehle and a brother, Albert John Strehle, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service in celebration of his life Friday, April 20, at 4 P.M. in Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family will greet friends following the service. GAIL W. WILLIAMS
Gail W. (Wert) Williams, 60, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 17, 2001, at her Harleysville residence, after an illness. She and her husband, Robert L. Williams Jr., would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary August 10.
Born May 14, 1940 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late M. Rossman and Bertha S. (Buzzard) Wert. She was a 1958 graduate of Upper Darby High School and a 1962 graduate of Penn State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education.
Mrs. Williams taught in the Rose Tree Media School District prior to moving from Drexel Hill to Skippack in 1965, when she and her husband purchased the former L.H. Dotts Funeral Home in Skippack Village. They resided at the funeral home until 1972, when they built the present R.L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home Inc. of Skippack. At that time, they moved their residence to Harleysville.
She was a former substitute teacher for the Souderton Area School District and an instructor for the Art Goes to School program, in the district. She and her daughter started Williams & Co. Fine Jewelry of Worcester in 1989. She was a former sales associate at Apropos Dress Shop in East Norriton, and in 1999, was one of the founders of the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home Inc. of Franconia.
Mrs. Williams was a very active member of Central Schwenkfelder Church in Worcester. She sang in the Chancel Choir for more than 30 years, accompanied with piano and flute, and sang in a special singing group called the Meister Singers. She served on the church Diaconate, Board of Trustees, Music Committee and Ladies Aid, where she headed the Auction Committee for the Central Schwenkfelder Fair for more than 25 years.
Having a great interest in antiques, she was a member of the Skippack Antiquers, a branch of the Questers, a national antiques organization. She belonged to the Delaware Valley Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Her hobbies included tennis and antiquing. Most important to her, was spending time with her family and giving of her time to others.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott R. Williams and his wife, Christine M., of Worcester; a daughter, Wendy Williams Hartman and her husband, Dr. Jeffery F. Hartman, of Lansdale; and three grandsons.

EVELYN BELOTT
Evelyn Belott, age 62, of Telford, formerly of Lansdale, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in Grand View Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Belott.
GRETA COOPER
Greta Cooper, age 88, of Doylestown, died early Thursday morning, March 22, 2001 at Lakeview at Pinerun in Doylestown, where she had been a resident since 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cooper, in 1976.
Born in Turkey, she was a daughter of the late Malcon and Takouhi (Barsemian) Avrigian. She was a refugee to Greece in 1922, during the Greek Turkey War. She later lived in France for three years prior to coming to Philadelphia in 1935. She resided in Hackensack, Bergin County, NJ from 1938 to 1994, before moving to Doylestown.
Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
She enjoyed making Armenian lace and embroidery. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking traditional Armenian cuisine.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris E. Kodikian and her husband, Hal, of Doylestown; a son, Robert Cooper of Wilmington, DE; and three grandchildren, Raffe and Melanie Kodikian and Christina Cooper.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Cooper, in 1998; a brother, George Avrigian; and two sisters, Violet Attarian and Mary Kricorian.

ABRAHAM H. HARTZELL
Abraham H. Hartzell, 76, of Sebring, FL, died March 21, 2001 at his Sebring residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Fluke) Hartzell. Formerly of Telford, he moved to Lake Placid, FL in 1992 and Sebring in 1996.
DOROTHY HUNSBERGER
Dorothy (Auman) Hunsberger, 82, of Gilbertsville, formerly of North Wales, died Feb. 23, 2001, in her home. She had been married for 49 years to the late Bryon H. "Pete" Hunsberger, who died in 1992.
Born in Coburn, Centre County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Confer) Auman.
She had been employed for many years by the Green Tweede Co., currently located in Towamencin, until retiring.
Mrs. Hunsberger is survived by a half brother, Franklin Auman of Spring Mills.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Hale Hunsberger.

Howard K. Royer, formerly of Hatfield, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 in Phoenix, AZ, where he lived with his current wife, Dorothy (Ford) Royer for the past 11 years.

Marie (Dill) Sandford, 96, died Monday evening, March 19, 2001 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan S. Santos of Hilltown Twp.; and two grandsons, Paul Douglas Santos of Phoenixville and Scott Kimo Santos and his wife, Susan, of Hilltown Twp.

Emma H. Callen, age 79, of Towamencin, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 in North Penn Hospital, where she was a patient. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Callen.

Edwin L. Ellis Jr., 77, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Ellis, in 1997. A resident of Kulpsville for many years, he entered the North Penn Convalescent Center last October.
DOROTHY GUENTTER
Dorothy "Dot" (Gehr) Guentter, 77, formerly of Lansdale, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at the Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert F. Guentter. She had been a resident of Lansdale for more than 35 years, before moving to Sarasota, FL, 15 years ago. She returned to Lansdale in April of 1998 before moving to Zanesville in December, 1998.

Ida Batey Kay, of Dearing, GA, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at McDuffie County Hospital in Thomson, GA.
E. PAULINE MANN
E. Pauline (Cooper) Mann, 83, of The Village of Neshaminy Falls, Montgomery Township, died Monday, March 19, 2001 in North Penn Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linford C. Mann, in 1970. Mrs. Mann had lived for many years on West Hancock Street in Lansdale, prior to moving to her current address.
JOHN R. PROCK
John R. Prock, 94, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Dock Terrace Nursing Center in Towamencin. He was the husband of Dorothy (Crotty) Prock, who also resides at the center. The couple observed their 44th wedding anniversary last November.

Gregory J. Ruffo, 58, of Glenmoore, Chester County, formerly of Lansdale, died Monday afternoon, March 19, 2001 in the emergency room of Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, after becoming ill. Mr. Ruffo had lived in Glenmoore since 1965.

Alice C. (Hoff) Brown, 87, died Friday morning, March 23, 2001 in Dock Meadows, Hilltown Twp. She was the wife of the late Lester C. Brown, who died in 1997. Mrs. Brown lived in North Wales for 58 years, moving to Dock Meadows two years ago.
THEODORE F. GREGER
Theodore F. Greger, 88, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, in Dock Terrace, Towamencin Twp., where he resided for several days. He had lived in the Lansdale area all his life, and moved to Dock Meadows in Hilltown Twp. in August 1998.

Janice (Davies) Hagen, 73, a resident of Towamencin Twp. since the early 1950s, died early Friday morning, March 23, 2001, in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. She had been married for more than 33 years to the late Stanley E. Hagen, who died in 1993.
LUDMILLA J. ROSSER
Ludmilla J. "Luddy" Rosser, 95, a longtime resident of Lansdale, died February 21, 2001 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, where she had been a resident since 1992. Mrs. Rosser was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Rosser, in 1957.

Janet (Alexander) Clark, 62, a resident of Montgomery Twp. since 1972, died early Saturday morning, March 17, 2001 in the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, following an extended battle with leukemia. She was the wife of Roger G. Clark. They had observed their 36th wedding anniversary last September.

William M. Collier III, 73, of Pocono Lake, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at his home. He was the husband of Beatrice (Werkheiser) Collier.

Jean R. Puia of Alexandria, VA, died March 18, 2001. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore "Fats" Puia and the daughter of Frances B. Luker.
MARY A. SHUZDA
Mary A. Shuzda, age 85, of Kearny, NJ, died Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2001 at Gwynedd Square Center in Upper Gwynedd. She had been in failing health. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Shuzda, on Oct. 28, 1979.
RICHARD SCHULTZ
Richard Schultz, 72, of Daly City, CA, died May 8, 2001. He was the husband of Grace (Uribe) Schultz.
HARRY F. BACH
Harry Bach, age 82, died Wednesday morning, June 13, 2001, at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth Bach and they would have observed their 61st wedding anniversary at the end of this month. Mr. and Mrs. Bach lived in Montgomery Twp. for the past 30 years.
Born June 7, 1919, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry and Ethel Bach, who had resided in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia. After graduating from Olney High School, he worked for the Reading Railroad before joining the U.S. Navy in 1938, as a hospital corpsman. He was a World War II veteran and participated in Operation Torch in North Africa, prior to serving with the U.S. Marines on Iwo Jima and Guam. He was on active duty until 1961.
While stationed at NAS Willow Grove, prior to retirement, he was employed as a police officer in Lansdale and Hatfield Twp. In 1964, he was hired full time by the Montgomery Twp. Police Department. He retired as a police lieutenant in 1984. After retirement, he returned to the police department's communications center and administrative division. He was on active duty until shortly before his passing.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Fleet Reserve Association and the Hannings-Linderman Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
He was an avid steam railroad enthusiast and had numerous other hobbies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Betty-Cheryl Judd and her husband, Vincent; and two grandsons, Brett Samanns and Bryan Judd and his wife, Lisa.

PHILOMENA CATANZARO
Philomena (Guiliano) Catanzaro, 71, a lifetime resident of Lansdale, died Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2001, in North Penn Hospital, Hatfield Twp. She had been married for more than 42 years to the late Joseph S. Catanzaro, who died in 1994.
Born in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Raffaele and Rose (Corrado) Guiliano.
Mrs. Catanzaro enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale.
Surviving are four daughters, Joanne Halberstadt and Anita Skotleski and her husband, Ron, all of Lansdale, Maria Catanzaro of Towamencin and Janet Forbes and her husband, Robert Scott, of Hatfield; five grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Guiliano of Lansdale.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Romeo; and a brother, Ralph "Reds" Guiliano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, Monday, June 18, at 10 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Church, Lansdale. Interment , adjoining cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church from 9 to 10 A.M. VINCENT A. DelCONTE
Vincent A. DelConte, 58, recently of Norristown and formerly of Ambler, died Wednesday, June 14, 2001, at his residence.
Born Nov. 15, 1942, in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Matthew Joseph and Mildred Palma (D'Addesso) DelConte.
Mr. DelConte had worked in the restaurant business.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Kramer; two sons, Matthew and Justin DelConte; two sisters, Anna Marie Smith of Lansdale and Rose Marie Bowers of Horsham; three brothers, Ralph DelConte and Matthew DelConte, both of Philadelphia, and Joseph DelConte of Ambler; and several nieces and nephews.
