MARY R. SINEMUS

Mary R. "Granny" Sinemus, 93, of Derry, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at home. She was born Aug. 18, 1906, in Wyoming, Wyoming County, Pa., a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Chiprach Gamble, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Derry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Sinemus, on June 9, 1977; a daughter, Florence L. Sinemus; a granddaughter, Anna Mae Yordy; great-grandchildren, Angela and Joseph Sinemus; three brothers , Andrew, John and "Mitch" Gamble; and four sisters , Helen McManamy, Anna Short, Rose Kern and Catherine O'Donnell. Mary is survived by five sons , Herman and his wife, May, of Floral City, Fla., Lewis and his wife, Marilyn, of Red Creek, N.Y., Victor and his wife, Cass, and Lon and his wife, Judy, all of Derry, and Ronald and his wife, Linda, of Latrobe; five daughters , Mrs. Merle (Anna Mae) Yordy of Espanola, N.M., Mrs. James (Mary Edna) Neighly of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Frances Olson of New Alexandria, Mrs. Adolph (Rose) Planensik of Youngstown and Mrs. Larry (Linda) Deal of Torrance; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters , Sophie Bollinger and Julia Parker, both of Latrobe, and Mildred Musho of Ocala, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Derry, with the Rev. Ronald A. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Derry or the Bruno Ferrari Cancer Center at Latrobe Area Hospital.

MICHAEL E. BODNAR
Michael E. Bodnar, 88, of Hunker, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born March 25, 1912, in Greensburg, a son of the late Michael J. and Emilia Bodnar, and stepmother, Susan J. Bodnar. He was retired from Walworth of Greensburg and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, New Stanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Bodnar; a stepbrother, John Michael; and a grandchild, James Foschia. He is survived by his wife, Olga Bodnar; a son, Daniel R. Bodnar and wife, Helga, of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Foschia of Hunker; three grandchildren, John Foschia of Greensburg, Christine Foschia of Hunker, and Sylvia Christopoledge of Fort Myers, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Heidi Birkl of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Robert Foschia of Hunker, J.J., Tessa Marie, Samantha, and Cassandra Lynn Foschia of Greensburg; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hope Birkl of Lehigh Acres, Fla. Friends were received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. A.J. Domines officiating. Interment Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.

MERRILY JAD DANIELS

Merrily Jad Daniels, on Wednesday, June 7, 2000. Beloved wife of Mark Daniels. mother of Diane Daniels and Thomas Matsey. Daughter of Helen and the late Frank Jad. Sister of Melissa, Kimberly and J. Frank Jad. aunt of Alexandra, Gabrielle and Matthew Zabierek. Friends received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC., 4900 Centre Ave. at Devonshire Street, Oakland, Thursday and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Lakewood Memorial Gardens.

NICHOLAS J. FEALS

Nicholas J. "Nick" Feals, 80, of Rillton, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in his home. He was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Rillton, a son of the late Peter C. Sr. and Anna (Sumonoka) Feals. Prior to his retirement, "Nick" was self-employed and co-owner of Feals brothers Garage in Rillton, where he was in business from 1946 through 1985. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. His memberships included: St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, where he served as an usher for many years. Also the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Herminie S.N.P.J. Lodge #87, a life member of the Rillton VFW Post #8518, and was a founding charter member of the Rillton V.F.D. Station #14, where he served as its first secretary treasurer for 10 years. Mr. Feals, "Nick," is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julia (Ricci) Feals; three sons , Robert and his wife, Rita, of North Huntingdon, Richard of Rillton, and David and his wife, Deborah Feals, of Portsmouth, N.H.; a daughter, Claudia Ziegler and her husband, Derick, of Augusta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; two brothers , Harry of North Huntingdon and John Feals of Rillton; a sister, Ella Samulski of Rillton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Feals, "Nick," was preceded in death by a brother, Peter C. Feals Jr.; and three sisters , Mary Colussy, Katheryn Paroline, and Anna Pickerine. Friends received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas as celebrant. Interment with full military honors accorded by the Greensburg VFW Post #33 Honor Guard will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The Rillton Volunteer Fire Department Station #14 met for services Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A St. Edward parish rosary will be recited Friday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rillton VFW Post #8518 will meet for services Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

THOMAS L. FICCO SR.

Thomas L. Ficco Sr., 89, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in the Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. He was born Sept. 28, 1910, in Greensburg, a son of the late Dominic and Genevieve Teet Ficco. He had been employed as a foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1929 until his retirement in 1975. Tom, known fondly as "the personality kid of New York City," was well-known throughout the Eastern United States as an entertainer, stage and radio star. He was also a well-known master of ceremonies at beauty pageants, night clubs, and amateur nights at talent shows and dance clubs. He was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara E. Mroczkowski Ficco, on Dec. 11, 1993; a grandson, Scott A. Ficco; five brothers , Tony, James, Nick, Dan, and Joseph Ficco; and a sister, Mary Carnevale. He is survived by three sons , Thomas L. Ficco Jr., Robert J. Ficco, and Jerry A. Ficco, all of Greensburg; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Rose Leonard of Southwest Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at noon in the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, with the Rev. Leonard W. Stoviak as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, Delmont.

DOROTHY J. (COVERT) MULLENNIX

Dorothy J. (Covert) Mullennix, 69, of Delmont, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in William Penn Care Center, Jeannette. She was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Marienville, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary (Gadley) Covert. Dorothy was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers , Robert and Donald Covert; and a sister, June Shipe. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert Mullennix; two sons , John Mullennix of Johnstown and Richard Mullennix of New Castle; a sister, Bette Covert of Hermitage; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends were received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Dottie's funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frederick Heitzenroder of Salem Lutheran Church of Delmont officiating. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. FRANK R. PERFETTA SR.

Frank R. "Banjo" Perfetta Sr., 95, of Slickville, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28, 1905, in Sandy Creek (Allegheny County), a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ventresca Perfetta. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a coal miner and construction worker, primarily for Dick Corp., Large. He was a member of St. Sylvester Church in Slickville and the Holy Name Society of the church; an honorary life member of the Slickville Volunteer Fire Department; a member of Laborers Union #373 of Pittsburgh; the sons of Columbus in Export; the Slickville Sportsmen's Club; and a social member of the Slickville Civic Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia M. Mikolajcik Perfetta, in 1998; a son, Frank F. Perfetta, in 1991; two daughters -in-law, Mary Maruca Perfetta and Mary Santucci Perfetta; three brothers , John, Telio, and Domenic Perfetta; two sisters , Philomena "Minnie" Marnell and Pandelia Perfetta; a stepbrother, John DeNaro; a grandson, Anthony W. Perfetta; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Jean Perfetta. Survived by three children, John R. "Wallio" Perfetta of Slickville, Richard J. Perfetta and his wife, Peggy, of Export, and Louise A. Shawley and her husband, Harold, of Slickville; a daughter-in-law, Judith A. White Perfetta of Slickville; a stepsister, Rose Colarusso of Pitcairn; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends received at the JOHN L. BASH FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, (724) 468-8381, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral home hours: Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. A parish vigil service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Sylvester Church, Slickville, Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Raymond E. Riffle as celebrant. A chapel committal service and interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Should friends desire, memorial remembrances may be made in Mr. Perfetta's name to the American Heart Association, 615 S. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601.

JANE (SNODGRASS) REEB

Jane (Snodgrass) Reeb, 71, of Ross Township, on Tuesday, June 6, 2000. Beloved wife of John R. Reeb Jr.; beloved mother of Andrew C. Reeb of Minneapolis, Minn.; beloved sister of C. Don Snodgrass of Orinda, Calif.; and beloved aunt of Donna Sanderson of Vallejo, Calif., and Denise Wight of Martinez, Calif. Mrs. Reeb had retired from Kaufmann's Department Store, Downtown, where she was a sales associate for 22 years. Upon her retirement, she had volunteered for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Oakland. Mrs. Reeb was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral as well as a member of the Order of St. Luke, The Physician. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME INC., 1032 Perry Highway, Perrysville. Funeral service will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Interment Allegheny County Memorial Park. HAZEL SHRADER

Hazel Shrader, 95, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 23, 1905, in Madison, a daughter of the late Enos and Ella Henry Shrader. She was a retired employee of the former ITE Plant in South Greensburg and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her three sisters , Stella Craig, Mary Hamman, and Beulah Berkebile. She is survived by two nieces, Katheleen Gillotti of California and Jane Rugh of Sarver; and two nephews, Don Craig of Maryland and Charles Hamman of Greensburg. There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Hillview Cemetery Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert C. Wilson officiating. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, South Maple Avenue, Greensburg. KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, Greensburg, in charge of the funeral arrangements.

GUERINA M. SOSINSKI

Guerina M. "Gueda" Sosinski, 83, of Claridge, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born April 27, 1917, in Brush Hill, a daughter of the late John and Louise Marsiglio Viecelli. She was a member of St. Barbara Church in Harrison City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander F. Sosinski, in 1980; two brothers , Angelo and Moses Viecelli; and a sister, Louise Derry. She is survived by a son, Robert and wife, Carol Sosinski, of Claridge; three brothers , Albin P. and William E. Viecelli, both of Westmoreland City, and John Viecelli of Uniontown; and four sisters , Eleanor Schnupp and Jennie Cruder, both of Westmoreland City, Marie Golobish and Crona Struzzi, both of Harrisburg. Friends were received in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Harrison City, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Barbara Church, Harrison City, with the Rev. V. Paul Fitzmaurice as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Barbara Cemetery, Penn Township. A vigil service was held Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

WILLIAM F. ZAJDEL

William F. Zajdel, 92, of South Greensburg, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in the St. Anne Home, Greensburg. He was born April 21, 1908, in Barnum, W.Va., a son of the late Frank and Louise Wojtowicz Zajdel. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the former Walworth Valve Co. of South Greensburg. He was a lifelong member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg, a life member of the Roosevelt Club of Hempfield Township, a former auxiliary policeman for the Borough of South Greensburg, and a former Civil Defense Warden during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes E. Sedlacko Zajdel, on April 5, 1993; by five brothers , Albert, Tony, Stanley and Joseph Zajdel and Edward Vincent; and two sisters , Nellie Sirock and Verna Turek. He is survived by three sons , William E. and his wife, Irene Zajdel, of South Greensburg, Frank J. and his wife, Bertha Zajdel, of Greensburg RD6, and Thomas R. and his wife, Diane Zajdel, of Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Joan) Kraisinger-Lackner of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Robert, Dr. William, Pamela, Susan, Jill and Thomas Zajdel, Jerome, Dr. Paul, Charles and Andrew Kraisinger; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Vincent of Armbrust; a sister, Anna Vincent of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. JOHN E. BERGER

John E. Berger, 67, of Irwin (Hempfield Township), died Friday, June 9, 2000, at home. He was born May 27, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Martin Berger. He was a proud employee of Kreiser Aluminum of North Huntingdon and a member of St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, Herminie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict. He is survived by his wife, Carole M. Curci Berger; two daughters , Susan Crowe of North Huntingdon and Sharon Gogets of Greensburg; a son, John G. Berger of Irwin; five grandchildren, Jared, Nicholas and Austin Gogets, and Jordan and Lindsay Crowe; and a sister, Evelyn Needham of Monroeville. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, with Father Anthony Carbone as celebrant. Interment will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles. A parish wake service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society.

FRANCIS M. FLANNERY SR.

Francis M. Flannery Sr., 68, of Penn, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John J. and Nellie Regan Flannery. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Volkswagen of America in New Stanton. He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin, and a member of the St. Joseph Polish Club in Westmoreland City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella M. Mitchell Flannery, in 1988; two daughters , Theresa Ann and Marcella Ann Flannery; and a brother, John Flannery Jr. Surviving are five daughters , Mary T. Flannery, Gerri Lynne Flannery, Patricia Raling and Eileen J. Burgman, all of Penn, and Kathleen A. Lobodinsky of New Florence; two sons , Francis M. Flannery Jr. of North Huntingdon and Timothy L. Flannery of McKeesport; nine grandchildren, Jason Kelley, Anthony, Heather and Andrew Burgman, Jake and Jesse Lobodinsky, Allyssa Raling, Brandon Stanoszek and Juliana Flannery; a brother, Leonard Flannery of Oklahoma ; three sisters , Geraldine Newlin of Oklahoma , Patricia Kozel and Kathleen Gorman, both of Pittsburgh; and a sister-in-law, Marion Flannery of Beaver. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
