Mrs. Jane Bowers
Jane H. Bowers, 74, of Frederick, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008.
Born Oct. 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Sr., and
Mildred summers Hildebrand.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick.
She had a love for gardening, was a avid Nascar fan and enjoyed time spent
watching football and baseball. Mrs. Bowers was employed at Union
Manufacturing in Frederick and later worked at Frederick Electronics
(Plantronics) until her retirement in 1998.
Mrs. Bowers is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hollister and husband,
Mark, Sandra's Father, Charles E. Bowers and friend, Barb; her sisters,
Florence Reightler, Marci Rice, Ruby Fleischman and June Grant; her sistersin-
law, Ethel and Carol Hildebrand; and many nieces and nephews. She was
additionally survived by her very close friends, Donald and Jeannie Shaw and
many others.
Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her bothers, Elmer and Raymond
Hildebrand Jr., and her brothers-in-law Chet Reightler and Clyde Rice.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the
Resthaven Memorial gardens cemetery, Frederick. Rev. Dr. David G. Oravec
will officiate. Interment to follow at the cemetery. Those wishing to attend
services are asked to meet at the entrance of the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.

P.A. Funeral Home, Frederick.

Mrs. Sarah Lucille Bowings
Mrs. Sarah Lucille Bowings, 87, of Knoxville, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the
Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1920 in Knoxville as a daughter
of the late Clarence E. and Alice Stewart Moss.
She had worked for many years as a presser for Frederick Tailoring, Sagner's and
Muse Tailoring. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the
AARP, Juniors Fire Company Auxiliary, and the Francis Scott Key American Legion
Auxiliary.
Surviving is one brother, Lenwood Moss and wife, Sherley of Walkersville; one sister,
Rosie Moss of Frederick; a niece, Linda Moss of Knoxville; a nephew, Thomas E. Moss
of Kearneysville, W.Va.; three great-nephews, Timothy Moss and Carrie, Daniel Moss
and Heather and Shawn Moss and Emily; also surviving are two great-great-nieces
and two great-great-nephews.
She will also be remembered by a former sister-in-law, Dorothy Moss, of Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Keeney and Basford
Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, with the family receiving friends one
hour prior to services. The Rev. Ronald E. Reaves, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.

Mrs. Mary Brown
Mrs. Mary Gertrude Brown, 90, of Walkersville, died on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, after a lengthy
struggle with Alzheimer's disease, at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick. She was the wife of
the late Harold Eugene Brown, her husband for 61 years, who died on Feb. 10, 2007.
Born in Boston, Mass., on June 20, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anna M.
Held Lynch.
Mrs. Brown was an airline stewardess before she was married. She then was a homemaker for most
of her life, as well as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving her are her three children, Steven E. Brown and wife, Judy, of Thousand Oaks, Calif.,
Douglas T. Brown and wife, Mary Clark Brown, of Kensington, and Christina M. Kraimer and
husband, Brett E., of New Market; three grandsons, Nicholaus Edward Kraimer, Matthew Brett
Kraimer and Andrew Clark Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Eddie Lynch and one sister, Anne Cate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Keeney and Basford
Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A wake service will be held at the funeral home at 8:30
p.m. on Wednesday, Mass of Christian Burial will be held-- at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 28, from
Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church on East Second Street, Frederick.--Rev. Daniel Goulet,
associate pastor, will-- be the--celebrant. Interment will be in the Saint John's cemetery, Frederick.

Mrs. Ruth Burall
Mrs. Ruth Jeanette Burall, 75, of Frederick, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Frederick
Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Ralph L. Burall. They were married in August of 1950.
She was born in Frederick County, May 6, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Hazen B. and Lola
Belle Neal.
Mrs. Burall, for many years, had worked as a secretary for several local businesses. She was a
member of the Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, and she was an active member of the Women
of the Moose, #347, where she was a past Senior Regent, and she was also active with the
Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary #1067, where she was a past Madame President. She was a
life member of the United Fire Company #3, and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Mrs.
Burall was an animal cruelty investigator for Frederick County Animal Control, and she had a great
love for animals and was an animal advocate.
Surviving her in addition to her husband are three sons, Ralph T. Burall and wife, Susan, Jeffrey N.
Burall and wife, Kathy and Martin H. Burall and wife, Terry, all of Frederick; one brother, Kenneth
Neal and wife, Evelyn, of Frederick; and two grandchildren, Meredith and Aaron Burall; and several
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the Keeney and
Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Memorial services will be held Friday evening
at the funeral home, by the Women of the Moose at 8 p.m. and the Eagles Auxiliary at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, from the funeral home. The Rev. Dr.
Elsabeth Hilke, pastor of Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in the
Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of ones choice.
John M. Burdette
John M. Burdette, long time resident of North Side Drive, Frederick
recently of Country Meadows, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2008.
He was the husband of Evelyn V. Burdette. He was born in Damascus,
MD on July 25, 1913 to the late Claude and Sally (Boyer) Burdette.
Mr. Burdette was part owner of Watkins and Burdette Motor Company
from 1959 to 1986. He became a chartered member of the Francis
Scott Key Lion's Club in 1961. He received the Melvin Jones Award in
1999. He served as Vice President, President and Treasurer as well as
being on the board of Directors. He was a member of the Frederick
Presbyterian Church in Frederick, the Francis Scott Key American
Legion, and Amvets Post 2.
Mr. Burdette was the loving Father to John G. Burdette and his wife
Beth of Frederick. He was the grandfather of two, Lynley and Hillary.
He is also survived by a sister, Catherine Pearce of Damascus, MD and
several nieces and Nephews. He is predeceased by four brothers,
Basil, Earl, Claude, Charles and two sisters, Sara King and Mildred
Day.

from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 9 PM where funeral services will be held in
the Etchison Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1:00
PM. The interment will be at Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick. Rev.
Dr. Eric T. Myers and Chaplain Thomas J. Huff will officiate.

Mr. Lee DeGrange
Lee S. DeGrange, 90, of Frederick, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. He was the husband of Agnes Holt
DeGrange.
Born Sept. 13, 1917 in Middletown Valley, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Mary Cline
DeGrange.
Mr. DeGrange was a retired roofer with Jack White Contractors of New Market and later formed his
own roofing and carpentry company. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in
the Philippines, 1st Battalion 20th Infantry, and received the Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals.
Mr. DeGrange was the last of 20 brothers and sisters, all from Frederick. He was a member of the
Lutheran Church, a Life member of the VFW John R. Webb Post # 3285 , Frederick, a Life member
of the American Legion, Francis Scott Key Post 11, Frederick and Life member of the AM VETS Post
2, Frederick. Mr. De Grange enjoyed wood working, mirror making and spending time with his
family.
In addition to his wife, Agnes of 65 years of marriage, Mr. DeGrange is survived by his son, Steven
Lee DeGrange of Frederick; his grandsons, Chris DeGrange and wife, Tammy of Frederick and
Jeremy DeGrange and wife, Misti of Frederick; his great grandchildren, Danielle, Warren and Brittni
DeGrange all of Frederick; several nieces and nephews, and will also be missed by a brother and
sister-law, Schley and Ella Toms; and a great niece, Tina Houck.
Visitation with family will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Keeney and
Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, from the funeral home. Rev. Dr. David
G. Oravec will officiate. Interment will be at the Mount Olivet cemetery, Frederick.
Pall bearers for service will be, Jeremy DeGrange, Chris DeGrange, Warren Teague, Bill Teague,
John E, DeGrange and Schley Toms.

Mrs. Marybell Everhart
Mrs. Marybell Castle Everhart, 92, longtime resident of Frederick, passed away
Friday, Jan. 4 at the Northampton Nursing Home. Mrs. Everhart was the daughter of
the late Otto Beall and Rose Bell Hinea, however she was raised by the Castle Family
from a young age. She was the wife of the late Dr. David G. Everhart Jr., a
prominent dentist, whom she married Dec. 7, 1935. Dr. Everhart died March 18,
1984.
After graduating high school, Mrs. Everhart attended the Maryland Institute of Art in
Baltimore, graduating with a degree in Art. She also studied tailoring and interior
design at Frederick Community College. Mrs. Everhart was a member of various local
organizations, and enjoyed gardening, reading and oil painting.
Mrs. Everhart is survived by two very special friends: Eva Brand, a longtime friend;
and Tiffany Hebenton, the former activities director at Northampton. She will also be
remembered by her many wonderful friends and caregivers.--

Marian Adams Feaga
Marian Adams Feaga, 95, of Frederick, MD, passed away at the Frederick
Memorial Hospital on Monday, January 14, 2008. Born on December 3,
1912, she was the daughter of the late Vernon S. and Bess Bell (Dixon)
Adams. She was the wife of the late Lester B. Feaga, who passed away in
1977. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Janet B. Wallace and husband
William of Bendersville, Pennsylvania; David A. Whip, of Brandenton, Flordia;
Stephanie Broderick, and husband Denny of Finksburg, Maryland, and Robert
Whip of Oregon, Wisconsin. A graveside memorial service will be scheduled
at the convince of the family. All arrangements are with the Keeney &
Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
Mrs. Anna Goulden
Mrs. Anna Louise Goulden, 74, of Woodsboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at Frederick Memorial
Hospital. She was the wife of Norbert Vincent Goulden, whom she married in 1952.
Born Dec. 21, 1933 in McSherrystown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Marcellus Charles and
Marie Catherine Niederer Bolin.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Charles Vincent Goulden and wife, Leona of
Ohio; one daughter, Shirley Marie Goulden of Woodsboro; two grandchildren, Bethany and Geoffrey
Goulden of Ohio; one brother, Edward P. Bolin of Fairfield, Pa.; and one sister, Sarah G. Wherley of
New Oxford, Pa.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary C. Bolin and Virginia C. Jeffers.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Mr. Leon Hegner
H. Leon Hegner, 68, of Frederick, died Thursday, Feb. 7, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wellsburg, W.Va., Jan. 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Hermann L. Hegner and Angela
Emig Hegner.
He was a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit College, Wheeling, W.Va., Class of 1961 with a bachelor's
degree in English/dramatic writing arts. He was commissioned in 1963 and served in the USAF,
stationed in the U.S. and Europe as a liaison between Army and Air Force communication units; and
was honorably discharged at the rank of captain. After which he made a career in publishing, sales
and investment management. He was a loving and devoted husband and will be missed by all that
knew him.
His is survived by his wife, Barbara C. Hegner.
Also survived by his sisters, Jacqueline Dunlavey of Washington, D.C., Margot O'Herron of Laurel,
and Susanne Cominotti of Steubenville, Ohio.
In addition, are his former wife, Eileen Iseley Hegner of Mount Airy; and their children, Derek Leon
Hegner of Laurel, Jennifer Hegner of Baltimore, Emily Hegner of San Francisco, and Heather
Hegner-Voss of Suffolk, Va., also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106
E. Church St., Frederick. A service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, from the funeral
home. Interment to follow at a later date.
