Margaret K. Lesher
Margaret K. Lesher, 96, a resident of Penn Hall Nursing Center, Chambersburg, and formerly of 12710 Grant Shook Road, Greencastle, died at 1 a.m. Friday March 23, 2007 in the nursing center.
Born March 26, 1910 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Media A. (Frantz) Miller.
Mrs. Lesher was a homemaker and a member of the Shanks Church of The Brethren near Greencastle.
She and her husband, Ross Lesher were married Nov. 28, 1934. He died Oct. 27, 1989.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris Marie Lesher, a resident of Penn Hall, Chambersburg; a sister, Lorraine Stine, of Greencastle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Irene M. Brindle and Elsie V. Wishard; and a brother, Arthur Miller.
Services were held the afternoon of Tuesday, March 27 in Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. John Shelly officiating.
Burial will be in the Cedar Hill cemetery, Greencastle.
Cynthia Leigh Springs
Cynthia Leigh Springs, 66, of Lakeland, Fla., died of complications from diabetes on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Florida Baptist Hospital, Plant City, Fla. She was a native of Mercersburg. She moved to Lakeland, Fla. in 2003 from Greencastle, after retiring from Hagerstown Community College, Hagerstown, Md. with 20 years of service.
Douglas S. Ryan
Douglas S. Ryan, 75, of Greencastle, and formerly of Hagerstown, Md. died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 in his home. Born April 10, 1931 in Magnolia, W. Va., he was the son of the late Alfred Millard and Alta LaVern (Shock) Ryan. He had retired from Mack Truck, Hagerstown, Md. and was currently employed by Direct Mail Processors of Hagerstown.
Eva F. Kolda
Eva F. (Frank) Kolda, 94, of 120 S. Oller Ave., Waynesboro, died at 8:18 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2007 in the Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro. She had been critically ill for the past three weeks after suffering a stroke March 4, 2007.
Born Nov. 10, 1912 in Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late William N. and Anna Catherine (Powell) Frank. She spent her early life in Greencastle.
Mrs. Kolda graduated from Greencastle High School with the Class of 1930.
She and her husband of over 59 years, Henry R. Kolda, were married Oct. 25, 1947 in Northumberland, by her twin brother, Rev. Nelson H. Frank. They moved to their present residence in early 1950s.
Mrs. Kolda was employed as a clerical worker for Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro for 14 years and 14 years in the Christ United Methodist Church office before becoming a homemaker.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, since the mid 1930s where she taught in the Primary Sunday School Classes for 25 years. She was also a member of Nightingale Sunday School Class, later the Adult Sunday School Class. She also served on the churches Administrative Board for 24 years and was presently an honorary member of the board. She served on the Altar Guild and was secretary for the membership and evangelism for 30 years.
Mrs Kolda was a longtime member of Wayne Heights Homemakers; member of Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering 7 years in the gift shop; and the national AARP. She was a past member of the former North Chapter 739 AARP.
Mrs. Kolda enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and working with flowers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Genieve Frank, Ethel Fetterhoff and Alverta Kriner; and five brothers, Rev. Nelson H., LeRoy, Wilbur Frank, Harold Frank, LeRoy Frank and Neibert Frank.
Services were held the afternoon of Thursday, March 29, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating.
Burial followed in Green Hill cemetery, Waynesboro.

George R. Marville
George R. Marville, 89, of 3739 Williamson Road, Greencastle, died at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, where he had been a resident since May 2006.
Born June 2, 1917 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Thurman B. and Mary Alice (Sanner) Marville.
Mr. Marville attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute.
He served in the United States Army Air Corps as a pilot during World War II where he flew 116 missions over the "Hump" (Himalayas) from India to China. Among his many decorations were the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the China War Memorial Medal and the Wright brothers Master Aviator Award for 50 continuous years of safe flying.
He married his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Evelyn M. (Prettyman) Marville in 1938. They had two sons, Wayne and Gary. She died May 23, 1997. They lived in Easton, Md. for a number of years before moving to Willingboro, N.J. and then to Greencastle in 1981.
Following his Honorable Discharge from the military, Mr. Marville was employed as a corporate pilot for A.R. Roberts; as a pilot for Maryland Airlines, Easton; and then as Parts Manager for the Cavanaugh Ford Motor Co. in Salisbury, Md. Then his love of flying brought him back to aviation. He flew out of Cambridge and Easton before going to Hagerstown, Md. in 1962 to start the Hagerstown Commuter with Dick Henson. In 1970 he went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as a General Aviation District Office Operations Safety Inspector until his retirement in 1982.
While living in Easton, Mr. Marville was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life member of Easton Elks Club. In Greencastle, he was a member of Greencastle Baptist Church.
Mr. Marville always enjoyed his family and in his earlier years, enjoyed hunting and sailing.
He is survived by one son, Gary R. Marville of Beaufort, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Meghan Marville, Bryan Marville, Ashlee Marville and Shane Marville; a daughter-in-law, Debbie L. (Haines) Marville of Greencastle; and a second wife, Clotilda Satchell Marville.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Wayne R. Marville, who died Dec. 8, 2006; and a sister, Margaret Marville Bowman who died July 4, 2003.
Services were held the morning of Friday, March 30, in the Greencastle Baptist Church, Greencastle, with the Rev. David F. Rasmussen officiating.
Graveside services were held the afternoon of Saturday, March 31, at Spring Hill cemetery, Easton.

Beulah M. Angle
Beulah M. Angle, 93, a resident of the Morning Glory Retirement Home, State Line Pa. and formerly of Greencastle, died at 11:35 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 in the retirement home.
Born Aug. 21, 1913 in Claylick, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Estella Mae (Smith) Angle.
She retired in 1975 from the former Stanley Company, Chambersburg.
Mrs. Angle was a lifelong member of the Greencastle Church Of The Brethren, where she also was a member of the Berean Sunday School Class.
She had attended the Greencastle Senior Center and was a member of the national AARP.
She and her husband, Albert R. "Whitey" Angle, were married Feb. 1934. He died Feb. 14, 1994.
She is survived by a son, Larry A. (husband of Cathy) Angle of Greencastle; two granddaughters, April L. (wife of Chris) Smith of Hagerstown, Md. and Holly A. (wife of Travis) Blubaugh of Greencastle; a sister, Sarah Jane Horst of Hagerstown, Md.; a brother, Robert Angle of Mercersburg; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Services were held the morning of Wednesday, April 4 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Leon Yoder officiating.
Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery, Greencastle.

Helen A. Stotler
Helen A. Stotler, 84, of 310 Tyrone St., Greencastle, died at 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2007 in the Quincy United Methodist Home where she had been a resident for the last several months.
Born March 9, 1923 in Middletown, Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Martha (Legg) Hottel.
She and her husband, Charles W. Stotler were married April 10, 1947. He died Dec. 22, 2006.
Mrs. Stotler was a homemaker and in her earlier years had worked at the former Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, Md.
She was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Needham of Greencastle; a son, David W. Stotler of Maytown; a sister, Bethel Printz of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Hottel.
There will be no public funeral service.

Preston B. Musselman
Preston B. Musselman, 82, of 4193 Marsh Road, Waynesboro, died at 1:45 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2007 in his home. He had been in failing health for the past year and critically ill for one week. Born May 24, 1924 in Mercersburg, he was the son of the late Jacob William "Bill" and Nora (Hornbaker) Musselman. He lived his early life in Mercersburg later moving with his family to Greencastle.
Russell T. Nicholson
Russell T. Nicholson, 87, a resident of the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, and formerly of 14875 Sherwood Drive, Greencastle, died at 11:22 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Born April 18, 1919 in Wilkensburg, son of the late Thomas Russell and Catherine (Holmes) Nicholson.
Jeffrey L. Daley
Jeffrey L. Daley, 44, of 5434 Kennedy Ave., Williamson, died at 12:01 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2007 at his home. He had been in failing health for the last year and critically ill for the last two months.
Born Dec. 11, 1962 in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Richard and Betty (Wolfe) Daley of Greencastle.
Mr. Daley graduated from James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg, with the Class of 1980.
He and his wife, Tamara S. (Oberholzer) Daley, were married on July 24, 1982 in Mercersburg and moved to their current residence.
Mr. Daley was employed as a superintendent by Bonded Applicators, Waynesboro, for 24 years before retiring due to his illness.
He was a member of Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, Maugansville, Md., Harry Lackhove American Legion Post 517, Mercersburg, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1790, Mercersburg.
Mr. Daley enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his son, Jason M. Daley of Williamson; two sisters, Juanita Barto and her husband Bill, of Lemasters, and Pamela Ash and her husband, Alfred of Ft. Loudon; two brothers, Richard Daley of Greencastle and Jerry Daley of Freeland, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3 in Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Ave., Maugansville, with Pastor Dick Heckman officiating.
Burial will follow in Spring Grove cemetery, Lemasters.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday in Miller- Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle and for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the Church.

Audrey J. Elway
Audrey J. Elway, 70, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, and formerly of Greencastle, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born, April 2, 1937 in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Forshey and Elizabeth (Barrett) Forshey of Altoona.
She and her husband, Harold L. "Bud" Elway, were married June 17, 1955 in Altoona. He died Jan. 8, 2006.
Mrs. Elway was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church where she helped for many years with the cradle roll and the bus ministry.
Mrs. Elway enjoyed ceramics.
She was a graduate of the Bellwood Antis High School, Bellwood.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Debbie Sue (wife of Ernest) Hewitt of Altoona and Betty J. (wife of Scott) Kephart of Greencastle; a grandson, Ernie Hewitt Jr. of Altoona; seven brothers, Dean Forshey, Robert Forshey, James Forshey, Richard Forshey, Harold Forshey and Gary Forshey all of Altoona and Ernest Forshey of Honey Brook; three sisters, Shirley Teeter of Altoona, Sally Hostler of Blandon and Betty Jane Hostler of Rock River, Wyo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jackie Forshey.
Services were held the morning of Monday, May 7 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastors Paul Hutchison and Jeff Dunkle officiating.
Burial was in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to a charity of ones choice.
H. Elmo Angle
H. Elmo Angle, 88, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, and formerly of 8890 Stottlemyer Road, Waynesboro, died at 8:55 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2007 in the nursing home. He had been in failing health for the past six weeks.
Born Oct. 9, 1918 in Welsh Run, he was the son of the late Albert Elliott and Emma Kathryn (Niswander) Angle. He lived his early life in Welsh Run.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Eileen S. (Anthony) Angle, were married Dec. 23, 1940 in Hagerstown, Md. They moved to their Stottlemyer Road address in December 1983. He entered the nursing home Feb. 2, 2005. Mrs. Angle died Dec. 8, 2006.
In his early life, Mr. Angle was employed as an upholsterer for Beechy Furniture, Hagerstown. For most of his life, he was employed as a farmer. He began farming with his family, later farming the Oller Farm on Mentzer Gap Road and the Johnson Bittner Farm on Gehr Road, both of Waynesboro. He later rented the John Knepper Farm on Tomstown Road, Waynesboro, where he farmed for 33 years until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Angle was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren where he served as Deacon and on various committees and was a member of Christian Home Builders Sunday School Class.
He also was a member of South Chapter AARP 2977 and national AARP.
Mr. Angle enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Ernest B. Angle and Stephen M. Angle, both of Waynesboro; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Lester E. Angle of Welsh Run; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony E. "Tony" Angle; a granddaughter, Wanda Kay Gauger; five sisters, Rhoda E. Straley, Anna B. Buchanan, Thelma L. Arnold, Adaline D. Wenger and Mary E. Yeager; and five brothers, Lee R. Angle, Aden E. Angle, John Donald Angle, Albert R. Angle and Glenn E. Angle.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 10, in Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 South Church Street, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Prudence B. Yelinek officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hill cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro.
