ETHEL I. LIPNICKY

Ethel I. Lipnicky, 82, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, June 5, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Clymer, Pa., a daughter of the late Bert and Nina Mae Hoover Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Lipnicky, in 1978; a sister, Blanche Harper; and four brothers , Paul, Carl, Leroy, and Monroe Buchanan. She is survived by a son, John L. Lipnicky II of Vienna, Va.; four daughters , Judy Marze of Avalon, Kathy Kee of Ardara, Mary Ann Fiume of North Irwin and Dianne Lopez of St. Peters, Fla.; a brother, Laverne Buchanan of Indiana, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Ardara United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Carlisle Lloyd officiating. JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, in charge of arrangements.

ANNA H. PAULSON

Anna H. Paulson, 101, a resident of Easy Living Estates, Ligonier, formerly of Irwin, died Sunday, June 4, 2000. She was born Dec. 27, 1898, in Irwin, a daughter of the late Martin and Ida Olson Paulson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Eric, Martin and Roy Paulson; and a sister, Ruth Hockenberry. She is survived by a sister, Martha Tevendale of Hermitage; and nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. Private interment was held in Irwin Union Cemetery. WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Irwin, in charge of arrangements.

ROSE V. STOUGH

Rose V. Stough, 90, of Stahlstown, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, in Nedrow's Personal Care Home, Stahlstown. She was born April 13, 1910, in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late William and Mary McLain Barkley. She was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Donegal. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Ligonier Valley Telephone Co. in Stahlstown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Stough Sr.; a son, Elmer J. Stough Jr.; three brothers and four sisters ; and an infant. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Neiderhiser Stough; three grandsons, Jeff Stough and his wife, Kathy, of Indian Head, Neil Stough of Ligonier, and Mark Stough and his wife, Doris, of Stahlstown; five great-grandchildren, Lisa Fencil, Anjel, Rusty, Kristine, and Marsha Stough; a sister, Grace Orner of Youngwood; and two sisters -in-law, Carol Barkley of Youngwood and Mary Barkley of Florida. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the L. BOYD SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., Church Street, Donegal, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Donald G. Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Porch Cemetery. Jamie Snyder Brown, funeral director.

DESIDORE EDWARD SVITIL

Desidore Edward Svitil, 93, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, June 2, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1907, in Europe, a son of the late Theodore and Mary Princik Svitil. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist for Westinghouse Electric. He was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Ann McCarron. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Anna Pruzensky Svitil; a son, Edward Svitil and his wife, Ruth, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Rosemary Lacey of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

JOSEPH A. ZACCAGNINI

Joseph A. "Pap" Zaccagnini, 69, of Export, passed away into God's hands Sunday, June 4, 2000, at UPMC Shadyside. He was born May 13, 1931, in White Valley, a son of the late Luigi and Carmella Cocintella Zaccagnini. Joseph was a lifelong resident of Export and retired after 30 years from the U.S. Postal Service, serving as a rural carrier for Export RD1. He spent his entire life doing things for his family and with his friends. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Export, and served on the pastoral council. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, and was a member of the American Legion Post 858 and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Samuel and Louis Zaccagnini, and a sister, Louise Bergant. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Louise Hanacik Zaccagnini; two sons , Joseph "Joe" and wife, Patty, of Export, and Father Kenneth "Ken" Zaccagnini of St. Theresa Parish, Uniontown; a precious granddaughter, Alyssa; a brother, Anthony and wife, Josephine; and a sister, Mary Torockio and husband, Samuel, both of Latrobe. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Export, with his son, Father Kenneth Zaccagnini, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Export. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name to St. Mary's Church, Export.

FLORENCE M. ZAPPONE

Florence M. Zappone, 85, of Greensburg, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Cosmo and Frances Felice Zappone. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers , Come and Mike Zappone; and two sisters , Mary Rocco and Julia Verdone. Survived by a brother, John N. Zappone and wife, Antoinette, of Greensburg; a sister, Mary Lena Lynch and husband, Gilbert, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, www.pantalone.com, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Greensburg. CARMEN E. BONACCI

Carmen E. Bonacci, 72, on Saturday, June 3, 2000. Beloved brother of Theresa Grieco; loving and caring companion of Jeannie Griffith; son of the late Angelo and Georgina Bonacci. A U.S. Navy veteran. Friends were received Monday and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES LTD./MORASCO CHAPEL, 9406 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. RUSSELL L. BRUNECKE

Russell L. Brunecke, 75, of Murrysville, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Murrysville, a son of the late Lawrence and Ethel Cole Brunecke. He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, Delmont. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Jane Erbe. He is survived by a brother, Carl Brunecke and his wife, Jean, of Saltsburg; four sisters , Anna Mary Johnson of Butler, Betty Cain and her husband, William, of Delmont, Marion Polahar and her husband, Daniel, of Saltsburg and Joie Smith and her husband, John, of Stroudsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday (time later) in St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, Delmont, with Father William McGuirk as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 332 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA, or to St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, Delmont.

WILLIAM F. CARUTHERS SR.

William F. Caruthers Sr., 80, of Irwin, died Saturday, June 3, 2000. He was born March 6, 1920, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Carroll V. and Adele Rince Caruthers. He was a retired attorney of the law firm Caruthers and Caruthers, recently attaining his 50th year of practice. He was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1938, the University of Michigan, Class of 1942, and attained his law degree from Dickinson College Law School. He was a 50-year member and past president of the Westmoreland Bar Association, past president of the Western Pa. Trial Lawyers Association, and former assistant district attorney of Westmoreland County. He was a lifelong Democrat. He was former vice president and a member of the board of directors of the Irwin Bank and Trust Co., and a former director and officer of Penn State Tool and Die of North Huntingdon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations. He was a former AARP statewide legislative committee member and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Irwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Caruthers. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Blair Caruthers; a daughter, Ann C. Taylor of Julian, Pa.; two sons , William F. Caruthers II and J. David Caruthers, both of North Huntingdon; five grandchildren, Kathleen Ann Caruthers, Margaret Blair Caruthers, Anne McHugh Caruthers, William Joseph Caruthers, and Justin James Taylor; two stepgrandchildren, Heather Taylor and James Taylor; also three stepgreat-grandchildren. Friends were received Monday and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. R. Bruce Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. RONALD A. CONFORTI

Ronald A. Conforti, 69, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, in McKeesport Hospital. He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Antonio and Theda Zelenski Conforti. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an auditor for the federal government, DCAA of Pittsburgh, and currently employed as a consultant of Powerex. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon, a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean conflict, and past president for three terms with the Federal Government Accountants Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Conforti Jr. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Thiem Conforti; three sons , Michael A. and his wife, Michele, of Monroeville, Ronald A. Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, and Carl T. Conforti, all of North Huntingdon; a brother, Kenneth Conforti of Georgia; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Anthony Conforti; and two stepgrandchildren, Andrew and Richard Campbell. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.

PHILIP J. DeNEZZA

Philip J. DeNezza, 57, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, in the Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. He was born Nov. 3, 1942, in Greensburg, a son of the late Carson and Mary Garlotta DeNezza. Prior to his death, he was employed by Radford's BP of North Huntingdon. He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Irwin, the McKeesport Sportsmen's Club and was a master baker for more than 30 years. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Rose Mary Cassidy DeNezza; two sons , Sean Patrick and his wife, Kara DeNezza, of Manor and Regis DeNezza and his fiancee, Debbie Allan, both of Greensburg; a grandson, Jesse Roscosky; and three brothers , Eugene, Robert and Dennis DeNezza, all of New Jersey. Friends were received Monday and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Wilkinsburg, PA 15221.

ROBERT C. HARMAN

Robert C. Harman, 55, of Stahlstown RD1, went to be with his Saviour on Saturday, June 3, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. Friends were received Monday in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Dunaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Acme Open Bible Church Building Fund. Robert Harman was a true friend to all and he was his family's mentor through life.

DELORES M. HOENSHELL

Delores M. Hoenshell, 72, of Jeannette, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, in her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late John M. and Maude J. Fennell Loughner. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by GenCorp in Jeannette. She was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Loughner; and two sisters , Naomi Rupe and Geraldine Hyde. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Henry L. Hoenshell; two sons , Wayne and wife, Cathy Hoenshell, of Ocala, Fla., and David and wife, Veronica Hoenshell, of Mesa, Ariz.; three brothers , Elmer and Huey Loughner of Jeannette, and Orrie Loughner of Greensburg; two sisters , Juniata "Junie" Music of Jeannette and Vera Jury of Penn Township; four grandchildren, Wayne Jr., John, Rachel and McKayla Hoenshell; and a great-grandchild, Colin Cavada. Friends will be received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held with her pastor, the Rev. Frank Lewis, officiating. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
