Elizabeth M. Shaffer, Lake Ariel, died Monday morning in the Mercy Hospital after an illness. She was the widow of Edward A. Shaffer who died in 2004.
Born in Lake Ariel, daughter of the late Otis and Ethel Wetherill Catterson she was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School and was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly of God Church, Hamlin. Prior to retirement she had been employed asa seamstress.
Surviving are daughters Lois Mousley and Lucille Chapman both of Lake Ariel and Louise Whitacre of Phenix City, Alabama; a sister Edith Black of Hamlin; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10am in the Penetecostal Assembly of God Church Route 191 Hamlin.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm in James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel and Wednesday morning from 9:30am until time of service.
Interment, Hamlin Cemetery.

Noreen B. Beischer-Bohannon

Noreen B. Beischer-Bohannon, Sterling, died Saturday at home after an illness.
Born in Newark, New Jersey daughter of Martha Anne Francis Beischer of Sterling and the late Richard W. Beischer, Sr. She was a 1976 graduate of Farliegh Dickinson College earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology.
Surviving are children Loreen A. and David R. Bohannon at home; brothers Richard W. Beischer, Jr., and Andrew Okolovitch; former husband David Bohannon, II.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30am in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with Mass to be celebrated at 10am in St. Thomas More Church corner of Tresslarville and Gravity Rds. Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
Interment, Simontown Cemetery, Greentown.

Salvatore Barba, Jr.

Salvatore Barba, Jr., Lake Ariel, died Monday at home after a long illness. His wife is the former Mona H. Houde.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Mauro Barba, Sr. Prior to retirement he was self-employed as a fuel oil and gas station owner. He was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel and St. Luke’s Church, Long Valley, NJ. He was a veteran of the Unites States Navy.
Surviving are a son Michael and his wife Andrea Barba and their son Andrew; a daughter Suzanne Barba, all of Long Valley, NJ; brothers Jerry and Cosmo Barba , both of New Jersey; sisters Anna Keldanowicz, of Pa., Elizabeth Magotch, Helen Barba, Florence Bottge, all of New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by brothers Jackie and Anthony; sisters Mary and Josephine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 am in St. Luke’s Church, 265 West Mill Rd. Long Valley, NJ.
Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.

Elwin Grover Conklin, III, Hamlin, died Saturday in the Moses Taylor Hospital after an illness.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Elwin Grover and Addie Hawk Conklin, Jr. he was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School class of 1960. He had been self employed as a heating and plumbing contractor. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving with the Mobile Construction Battalion during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are several aunts and cousins.
Interment private at the convenience of the family in Zion Cemetery, Sterling.

Adam L. Alunni

Adam L. Alunni, Pacific Palisades, Ca., a former resident of Lake Ariel, died January 14, 2006 in California.
Born in Peckville, son of Alice M. Case Alunni, Lake Ariel and the late Alfred A. Alunni he attended St. Thomas More Church and had been employed by General Motors.
He loved to play baseball in various company leagues.
Surviving are brothers Elmer and Joseph both of Lake Ariel and Alfred, Jr. of Virginia; sisters Lorraine Michalowski and Caroline Edwards both of Lake Ariel and Linda Ball of Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by paternal grandparents Adad and Annunziata Anelli Alunni and maternal grandparents George and Mabel Kizer Case.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:30am in St. Thomas More Church corner of Tresslarville Rd and Route 296, Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Friday morning from 9am until time of Mass at the church.
Interment, St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup.

Wilhelmina A. Cooper

Wilhelmina A. Cooper, Mt. Cobb, died Saturday morning at home in the care of her loving care givers and VNA services after a long illness. She was the widow of Glenn T. Cooper who died in 2005.
Born in Factoryville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Bartridge Miller and was a member of the Elmdale Independent Bible Church. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Cooper’s Poultry Farm.
She was a beloved wife and mother. Willy had a zeal for life and worked hard at whatever was before her. She was known for her good cooking and green thumb vegetable gardening. Family picnics at the pond were among her favorite activities. She loved her church where she served as church and Sunday school secretary for a number of years. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. But because of her personal faith in Jesus Christ’s atonement for sins, she had the assurance of an eternal home in heaven.
Surviving are a daughter Grace Klees of Mt. Cobb; sisters Florence Jervis, Frances Gibbons and Carolyn Smith all of Factoryville; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers Henry Dickson and Frederick Miller; sisters Mabel Wickizer, Viola Krachanko and Irene Mooer.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Willard Black, pastor of the Elmdale Independent Bible Church.

Judith S. Fahrenbach

Judith S. Fahrenbach, Lake Ariel, died Friday morning in the VNA Hospice at the Moses Taylor Hospital after a long illness. Her husband is William R. "Bob" Fahrenbach, Jr.
Born in Lake Ariel daughter of the late Robert A. and Imogene Moon Samson. She graduated from Lake Consolidated High School in 1951 and was a member of Lake Ariel United Methodist Church. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Harriet Greene Chapter 198 Order of the Eastern Star. Prior to retirement she had been a hostess at Twin Rocks Restaurant and an office manager at Weis Market in Hamlin.
Surviving are sons William R. III and wife Pat, Johnson City, NY, John Jared and wife Susan, Lake Ariel; daughters Karen de-la Cruz and husband Manny of Carson, Ca. Barbara Dempsey and husband Richard of Clarks Summit; grandchildren Matthew and Justin Fahrenbach, Daniel R. de-la Cruz and Megan Bergsma, Brenda Hopkins, Deanna and Sydney Fahrenbach; great-grandchildren Tyler and Nicholas Bergsma; step-grandchildren Jerry, Emil, Mandy, Francesca, Rosanna de-la Cruz, Maria d-Iazzo.
Preceded in death by brothers Robert and John Samson; a step-grandson Ben de-la Cruz.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Ron Onder.

Michael J. Lane, Lake Ariel, died Saturday in the Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born in Liberty, New York son of William and Virginia Young Lane, Lake Ariel he was a 1992 graduate of Western Wayne High School. He was employed by the Wayne County Human Resource Center.
Surviving are a brother Andrew Lane of Lake Ariel; sisters Tami Lane of Bethany, Holly Lamberton of Waymart and Linda Lane of Lake Ariel; two nieces; one nephew.
Services and interment are private at the convenience of the family.

John "Jack" Williams

John "Jack" Williams, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, died early Thursday morning in the Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit after an illness. His wife was the former Bertha Kinzel who died in 2002.
Born in Brooklyn, son of the late Charles and Florence Williams he attended Kingsborough Community College were he received an Associates Degree in Nursing. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Ledgedale and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7403 Lake Ariel. He had been employed as a Firefighter in Brooklyn stationed at Rescue 2 and retired as a Registered Nurse at the Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn.
Surviving are sons John of Holbrook, NY, Charles of Brooklyn, and James of Chatham, NJ; daughters Mary Ann Nichols of Staten Island, NY and Regina Tronolone of East Stroudsburg; sisters Florence "Sissy" Dickerson of East Northport, NY and Louise O’Connor of Anaheim, Ca; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by a brother Chuck.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15am from the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with Mass to be celebrated at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, Ledgedale by Rev. Ronald Altrui.
