Frederick A. Schmitt

August 21, 2005

Frederick A. Schmitt, of 697 The Hideout, Lake Ariel went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday morning at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo Senior Care Center. His widow is the former Joan Rakocy.

Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of Frederick J. and Marjorie Gilles Schmitt. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Saphier, Lerner, and Schindler, Associates, New York City as an architectural office space designer. He had served in the United States Naval Reserve. He was also active in the churches he attended, serving as deacon and leading Bible studies through the years. He also enjoyed tennis, golf, painting and home improvement projects.

Surviving are a son Frederick S. of Nutley, N.J.;  daughters Denys Pfeiffer of Lansdale, Pa. and Debra Hoyt of Berryville, Va.; 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call Wednesday 5:00-7:30pm with the funeral service at 7:30pm by son-in-law Glenn Pfeiffer in the James Wilson Funeral Home Rt.296, Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment will take place Thursday morning at 11:00 am in the Cresthaven Cemetery, Clifton, N.J.

Joan Truswell Ohlson

August 18, 2005

Joan Truswell Ohlson, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, Lake Ariel died Thursday evening in Wayne, New Jersey. Formally of Union, NJ. Beloved wife of the recently deceased Keith Alton Ohlson.

Born in Newark, N.J., daughter of the late Viola and Bill Truswell. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Sears and was a former employee of the the FBI.

Surviving her is her sister Eleanor Lerman of Union, N.J. as well as  daughters Stymie Ohlson and her husband Kevin Graham of San Diego, Karen Ohlson Howe and her husband Skip of Wayne, N.J. and Kristine Ohlson Walby and her husband Christopher of San Diego; grandchildren Jordan, Paige, Chandlar, and Grant; grand dogs.

Friends may call Sunday, August 21, 2005, from 4-6 PM, service at 4:30 PM at the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, private at convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Passaic Valley Hospice 783 Riverview Dr. Totowa, NJ 07511.

Filomena Rivezzi

August 11, 2005

Filomena Rivezzi, Lake Ariel, formerly of East Rutherford, NJ died Thursday in the Brighten at Julia Ribaudo Senior Care Center, Lake Ariel. She was the widow of Andrea Rivezzi who died on 2003.

Born in Donora, Pa., daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine Simone Campioni. She was of the Catholic faith. Prior to retirement she had been employed as a seamstress working with the Amalgamated Cloth and Textile Workers Union.

Surviving are sons Vincent of Lake Ariel, Mario of Delaware, and Joseph of East Rutherford, NJ; sisters Maria Dirrubba and Antoinette Simone both of New Jersey; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a brother Luigi Campioni.

There will be no public calling hours.

Entombment will take place Tuesday at 11am in the Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, N. Arlington, New Jersey.

Arthur J. Reynolds

August 7, 2005

Arthur J. Reynolds, Lackawaxen, died August 7, 2005 in the Brighten at Julia Ribuado Senior Care Center after an illness. His wife is the former Helen E. Fox.

Born in Pottstown, son of the late David E. and Florence Shaner Reynolds he was of the Christian Science faith. Prior to retirement he had been employed as a Steam Fitter in Philadelphia. He was a United States Navy veteran.

Surviving are a daughter Sandra L. Petty and her husband Louis J. "Jerry" of Mesa, AZ; sons Michael D. Reynolds of Boyertown and Patrick A. Reynolds of Stroudsburg; sisters Phoebe Rothermal and her husband Robert of Millsboro, Del, Rita Simmons and her husband Gordon of Sacramento, Ca, and Marie Hartline and her husband David of Douglassville; grandchildren Brian Lewiski, Dawn Infante, and Lee Reynolds; four great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 1pm at the family residence in Lackawaxen.

Interment, private at the convenience of the family.

Philip A. Frisbie, Sr.

August 10, 2005

Philip A. Frisbie, Sr., Milford, died Wednesday in the Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, NJ after an illness. His wife is the former Janice Stoll.

Born in Cortez, son of Alvie B. Frisbie of Maplewood and the late Estelle Williams Frisbie. He was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School. He was employed as a manager with the Eureka Stone and Asphalt Company.

Surviving are sons Philip A., Jr of Rosetto and John of Easton, Md; a daughter Kathryn Frisbie of East Rutherford, NJ; a brother Loren Lown of Cortez; a sister Veldora McCann of Maplewood; three grandchildren Philip A., Brendan, and Kristine Frisbie; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister Lois E. Laabs.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Ron Onder.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.

Interment, Kizer Cemetery.

Charles W. Klim, Sr.

August 9, 2005

Charles William Klim, Sr., 68, of Madison Twp. died Tuesday evening in the Community Medical Center after an illness. His wife is the former Betty Reese and they celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary on April 7th.

Born in Cortez, Jefferson Twp. son of the late Michael and Mary Evancho Klim. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School. He served his country honorably in the Navy Reserves. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Dunmore.

Prior to retirement, he worked at the Trane Co., Dunmore for many years and in the North Pocono School District, Moscow.

He was a loving  Father, husband, and grandfather who spent most of his time caring for his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Austin.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are sons, Charles, Jr. and his wife Linda, Moscow, Michael and his wife Karen, Lake Ariel;  daughters, Carla Antidormi and her husband Skip, Hamlin, Tina Sheehan and her husband Robert, Thornhurst, Kimberly Sicovitch and her husband Steve, Springbrook, Helene Goreschak and her husband Joseph, Springbrook; sisters, Veronica Cooper and Mary Ann Scott, Hollisterville; a brother, Albert Klim, Zephyr-Hills, Fl.; 13 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Michelle; three brothers, Michael, George, and John; a sister Anna Mecca.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Margaret Klimasauskas

August 7, 2005

Margaret Klimasauskas, Lake Ariel, died Sunday at the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton. She was the widow of George F. Klimasauskas.

Born in Danville, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Flanagan Trace. She was a graduate of Danville High School. She attended St. Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel.

Surviving are a son George Klimasauskas of Moscow; a daughter Shirley Sobatka of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Kimberly and Matthew Klimasauskas and Jason and Branda Sobatka.

Preceded in death by two granddaughters Stephanie and Holly Sobatka; brothers William and John Trace.

A Graveside Blessing service will be held Wednesday at 11am in the Garden of the Cross Section of the Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst by Msgr. F. Alan Conlon.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Edward J. Germain

August 2, 2005

Edward J. Germain, a resident of The Hideout, Lake Ariel, died Tuesday in the Mercy Hospital, Scranton. His widow is the former Joan Coleman.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Herbert and Margaret Ward Germain he was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Staten Island. Prior to retirement he had been employed as a Vice President with Goldman Sachs working in Commodity Trading.

Surviving are sons Edward of Rutherford, NJ and Robert of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter Kathleen Greco of Cranford, NJ; three grandchildren Megan, Michael, and Caitlyn Germain.

Preceded in death by a brother Herbert and a sister Patricia.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00am in St. Patrick's Church, Staten Island."

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery, Staten Island.

Evelyn Kohut Hoffman Brock

July 29, 2005

Evelyn Kohut Hoffman Brock, 96, formerly of Scranton, died Friday morning at the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Hoffman in 1955 and her second husband Lewis Brock in 1971.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Philip and Anna Tarnowski Kohut. She was a member of the Green Ridge Assembly of God Church where she had been active for many years.

Surviving are a daughter Aloma Hoffman Peters and her husband Robert of Lake Ariel; two sisters Helen Sileo and Anastasia Eboli both of Dunmore; a sister-in-law Alberta Kohut of Scranton; two grandchildren Kimberly Ann Jackson of Cold Springs, Pa. and Robert Paul Chumard and his fiancé Kristen McHale of Hamlin; two great grandchildren Brett James Jackson of Cold Springs and Schuyler Stephen Chumard of Ledgedale; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two brothers Martin and Stephen Kohut; two sisters Mary Yakamavitch and Catherine Newell.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home Route 296 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Ron Onder.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm.

Interment, Arlington Cemetery.
