Pennsylvania Obituary and Marriage Records, 1947-2010

Harry H. Clark
Statesville, NC - Services will be held at a later date for Harry H. Clark, 90, of Statesville, NC, who died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Davis Medical Center, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Loewenstein Clark.
Born on Jan. 9, 1918, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Hobart Clark and Martha Clarke Clark. He served as a Merchant Marine in World War II and was a retired chef. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
He is survived by two sons, Gary and wife, RaeMarie “Re” of Statesville, NC; Craig and wife, Rose of Connecticut; one sister, Martha Quitoni of Florida; four grandchildren, Raelynn Clark, Eva Clark, Adelle Clark, Eric Clark; and one great grandchild, Brianna Maxine Clark.
He was also preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Hobart and Charles; and a sister, Emily Schwarz.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

August Anschuetz, Jr.
Greeley, Pa. - Services will be held for August Anschuetz Jr., 95, of Greeley, who died Sunday February 24, 2008 at his home.
The son of the late August Sr. and Mary Schuetzle Anschueu, he was born February 9, 1913 in Greeley. He was a retired maintenance man for Reber Restaurant, Barryville, NY. He was a US Army World War II veteran.
He is survived by great nieces and nephews.
Services and cremation will be at the convenience of the family.

Catherine M. Chuprevich
Honesdale, Pa. - Funeral services will be held for Catherine M. “Punkie” (Compton) Chuprevich, 78, Honesdale, who died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale. Her husband Edward J. Chuprevich predeceased her in March 2005.
Born February 6, 1930 in Honesdale, she the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Quick) Compton. She was a graduate of Hawley High School and was employed as a Seamstress by Sherman Mills, Hawley. She was a loving mother and grandmother, states a family statement.
She is survived by  daughters, Barbara and husband, Tom Zalasky of Milford and Susan Guccini of Paupack; a son, Edward “Chip” and wife, “Chickie” of Monmouth, ME; two sisters, Marion McKean of Shohola, Jean Herbert of Matamoras; grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Anne, Christopher, Gregory, Brian, Jeff, Sara, Jill; and several aunts, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Feb. 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley.
The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 11 at 10 am at the BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 319 Chestnut Ave., Hawley where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor.
Interment, B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.

Veronica Simonson
Lackawaxen, Pa. - A Memorial Mass will be held for Veronica Simonson, Lackawaxen, who died February 7, 2008 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Simonson.
Born in Bloomington Twp., NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha Smith Whritenour. She was of a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Shohola.
Surviving are a brother, Roger and a sister, Pauline both West Milford, NJ.
Also preceding her in death are two brothers and five sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated today, Saturday, February 23 at 10 am in St. Ann’s Church, 123 Richardson Ave., Shohola.

Agnes E. Whitman
Lackawaxen, Pa. - Funeral Services were held for Agnes E. Whitman, 101, of Lackawaxen, who died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Milford Senior Care, Westfall Township. She was married to the late Percy Whitman.
Born February 6, 1907 in Lewiston, ME, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Bosse Morris. She was a retired chef in various restaurants in California.
Surviving is her daughter, Dorothy Urban of Hawley; and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday May 6, at 6 pm at the Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford.
Interment, St. Ann's Cemetery, Shohola at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to Dessin Animal Shelter, 143 Miller Rd., Honesdale, PA 18431.

Robert Albert Miller
Rowland, Pa. - Services will be held for Robert Albert Miller, 81, of Rowland, and formerly of Staten Island, NY, who died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at his home. His wife, Thelma Solli Miller, survives.
Born October 20, 1926 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Marjorie (Reischour) Miller. He was a retired police officer for the City of New York; a loan officer for Chase Bank, Manhattan, NY; and manager of Farrell Lumber Co., Staten Island, NY. He was an active member of the sons of Norway and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.
Also surviving are two  daughters, Janet Miller and Lynn Maschietto, both of Staten Island, NY; a brother, Jay Miller, Matasquan, NJ; four grandchildren, Joseph, Tori, Dennis, Jayme; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Robert.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Interment, Rowland Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, Church Road, Pa 18457.

Philip Frank Kuhn
Shohola, Pa. - Private services will be held for Philip Frank Kuhn, Sr., 70, of Shohola, who died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He was married to Emma Pirino Kuhn, who survives.
The son of the late Philip E. and Barbara Loebline Kuhn, he was born August 28, 1937 in Honesdale. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local # 445 and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his son, Philip Frank Jr. and his wife, Elaine of Eldred, NY; two  daughters, Sherry Wolf and her husband, Paul of Shohola, and Chantel Kunkeli and her husband, Todd of Eldred, NY; five grandchildren, Philip Kuhn and his fiancé, Mel of Middletown, NY, Donald Kuhn and his wife, Stacey of Eldred, NY, Keith Kuhn and his fiancé, Kelly of Jacksonville, FL, Ty and Todd Kunkeli of Eldred, NY; and two great grandchildren, Kyleigh and Don.
Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Alvin L. Zeruth Jr.
Hawley, Pa. - A Memorial Service was held for Alvin L. Zeruth, Jr., of Dade City, FL, who died on January 18, 2008, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center. His beloved wife, Kathleen Zeruth of Dade City, survives.
Born April 7, 1947 in Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Alvin L. and Arminda Zeruth. He was a Navy veteran attached to Squadron HS3. He was a member of American Legion and was a resident of Dade City for seven years.
Also surviving are two sons, Christopher of Weston, Fla., and James of Murfeesboro, TN; a daughter-in-law, Lori Zeruth of Murfeesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Jake and Jennifer Zeruth of Murfeesboro, TN; and three dear friends, Kathy Bessette and Kenton Harper, both of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Ed Perry of Quinlan, Texas.
A Memorial Service took place on Friday, January 25, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 U.S. Highway 301.
Interment, Florida National Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hernando- Pasco Hospice.

Eileen J. Rider
Hawley, Pa. - A Funeral Service will be held for Eileen J. Rider, 61, of Milestone Estates, Hawley, formerly from Union City, NJ, who died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, following a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Henry Meldau.
Born September 25, 1946, in Weehawken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John (nee Scholand) Rider. A graduate of Union City High School, she was employed as a switchboard operator for the Union City Police Department prior to her retirement. She had also been employed with White Rose Food Distributors. Formerly of Pleasant Apartments in Union City, she had been an active member of Democratic Club in Union City prior to moving to the Hawley area in 1996. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Also surviving are her sister, Clara Rider of New Jersey; and a niece, Clara Scism of Hawley.
Calling hours will be Saturday, March 29, from 1 to 2 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 405 Church St., Hawley.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 pm at the church with Rev. David Heckler, Pastor, officiating.
Cremation, Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
Placement of her urn will be held at a later date at Garden State Mausoleum, North Bergen, NJ.

Grace Gillespie Hall
Ponca City, OK - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Grace Gillespie Hall, resident of Ponca City, OK, who died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Ponca City. She was 94. She married Janion "Jack" Hall on Dec. 24, 1939 in Pittston, and was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years.
Born on Thursday, August 21, 1913 in Pittston, to the late Francis Patrick Gillespie and the late Mary Alice (Wegge) Gillespie, she attended boarding school along with her twin sister Katharine at Marywood, Scranton. She went to Marywood Seminary and graduated from Marywood College, Scranton, in June 1935 with a B.A. degree. They resided in Paupack on a farm on which she lived all of her life. She was employed by the Wallenpaupack Area School District as a teacher for 29 years. She never missed a day of teaching. Grace moved to Ponca City to live with her daughter in 1997. The family visited the farm each summer. She will be remembered for her undefeatable spirit, her love of people, and her inordinate sense of fun, reads a family statement.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Grace Yates; two granddaughters, Grace Katharine Yates Davis and husband, Court Davis of Ponca City and Anne Elizabeth Yates of Bath, England and great-grandson, John Michael Davis; and a sister-in-law, Adaline Gumble Schumacher of Ponca City.
She was preceded in death by a brother Frank; and her twin sister, Katharine Hennigan.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 10, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Michalicka Celebrant of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating.
Interment, Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack.
The family greeted friends at on Sunday, March 9 and at the Teeters Funeral Home in Hawley on Wednesday, March 12.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, OK 74601 or to the charity of the donor's choice.

George R. Kehlhem
Blooming Grove, Pa. - Memorial Services will be held for George R. Kehlhem of Blooming Grove, who died Saturday February 16, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Nancy L. Richards, who died in 2005.
Born in New York City on November 26, 1938 to the late George and Helen Poelmann Kehlhem, he grew up in the South Bronx; graduated from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan; and attended evening classes at Samuel Gompers Vocational School for automotive repair. He served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He and and his wife moved to Pike County in 1967 and eventually became the owners and operators of Milford Auto Repair. He was a member of the American Legion Post 139, Milford, and an active member in the Tri-States Dog Obedience Club for 25 years.
He is survived by his cousin, Valerie Bernhardt of Milford.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Internment, Milford Cemetery, Dingman Twp., Pike County.
