Joseph Harold Acker

Joseph Harold Acker, 58 of Hawley died unexpectedly Friday, September 11, 2009 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born July 22, 1951 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Harold B.
and Anna Bociarski Acker. He was employed at the Human Resource Center in Beach Lake. Joe enjoyed eating, bowling and was an avid fan of the World Wrestling Entertainment. He was fascinated with space shuttles and on a trip to Florida he was able to attend a launch. He loved outings with the Human Resource Center and visiting the family farm. He was baptized at St. John the Evangelist Parish.

He is survived by his brothers Chuck and wife Kathy of Prompton and Pete and wife Annette of Honesdale; sisters Helen Martin of Honesdale and Mary Mandeville of Beach Lake; nephews Brian and Cody Acker and Joseph Mandeville Jr.; nieces Shana Acker-Delaney, Autumn Acker, Heather and April Mandeville and Elizabeth Bortree; aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews; and his extended family at the Human Resource Center.

He was preceded in death by his brother Philip; his friend Ruth Sailer; nieces June and Rebecca Acker and Angel Mandeville.

A blessing service will be held at Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St.
Honesdale on Tuesday at 6 PM by Fr. William Langan, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4 to service time. As per his request, cremation will follow at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Human Resource Center, 294 Bethel School Rd., Honesdale, PA 18431 or the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Rd. Honesdale, PA 18431.

Dakota Lee Williams

Dakota Lee Williams, 18 of Honesdale, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at CMC in Scranton from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born July 14, 1991 in Honesdale, she is the daughter of Tony and Amy Williams of Honesdale. She attended Honesdale High School and worked as a waitress at Narrowsburg Inn and Main St. Cafe in Narrowsburg. Dakota enjoyed being with family and friends, the
outdoors, and animals especially her dog Harley. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Honesdale.

Also surviving is her sister Alyssa "Gunk-Gunk" of Honesdale; paternal grandparents Russ
and Nancy Williams of Hawley; maternal grandmother Hazel Williams of Honesdale; paternal
great grandmother Marion C. Williams of Honesdale; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded by her maternal grandfather Vannie B. Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran
Church on the corner of 7th and Church Sts. in Honesdale by Pastor Kenneth Buckwalter.
Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church
on Friday from 4 to 8. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Rd.
Honesdale, PA 18431.

Peter O. Kneier

Peter O. Kneier, 46 of Pleasant Mount, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer at his home. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, the former Carol Gruszczynski. The couple married June 16, 1990.

Born October 6, 1962 in Queens, NY he is the son of Ewald and Edeltraud Krauland Kneier of Ridgewood, NY.

He loved living in the country and enjoyed working on projects with his family. Peter was a true family man who loved spending time with his wife and children. He was a township auditor and a member of St. Juliana's Church in Rock Lake. Peter worked at Sallie Mae for 18 years as a manager.

Besides being a wonderful husband,  Father, son, brother and uncle, he was admired and
respected by friends and co-workers.

Peter's life was his family. Also surviving are his 3 beautiful children, Nicholas 15,
Morgan 13, and Ashley 11 all at home; his sister Christine Rom and husband Robert of
Glendale, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Juliana's
Church in Rock Lake. Interment will follow in St. Juliana's Cemetery. Friends may visit
the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kneier Family Fund,
Honesdale National Bank, 733 Main St. Honesdale, PA 18431.

Anne V. Fiorenza Mullen

Anne V. Fiorenza Mullen of Honesdale, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo in Lake Ariel. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald "Don" J. Mullen. The couple married May 14, 1960.

Born in the Riverdale section in New York City, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the Joseph and Frances Corrente Fiorenza family. She was educated in the city school system. Upon graduating from high school she became employed as a clerical worked in New York City, until she left Owens Corning as an executive secretary to marry Don and move to Honesdale and become a housewife and mother.

Prior to her illness she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and its societies.

Also surviving is her son Kevin of Brooklandville, MD; a brother-in-law Dr. George F. Cassidy of Ithaca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother and 4 sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St.

Honesdale on Tuesday from 6 to 8.

Memorial contributions may be made to Honesdale EMS, PO Box 71 Honesdale, PA 18431 or to donors favorite charity.

Rose D. Cramer

Rose D. Cramer, RN, 84 of Honesdale, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Brighten at Julia
Ribaudo.

Born December 24, 1924 in North Adams, MA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and
Rose Dupree Dufraine. In 1941 she graduated from high school in Dolgeville, NY and in
1945 received her nursing degree. Later she worked at Binghamton Lourdes Hospital before
working at Binghamton State Hospital. After moving to Delaware, she worked at a nursing
home in Smyrna before retiring in 1979.

Rose was very active in the Honesdale Senior Center doing crafts and playing cards in the
pinochle club. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.

Surviving is her son Stephen Cramer of Casselberry, FL; her  daughters Rita Fletcher of
Binghamton, NY and Kathleen Goble and husband Neal of Honesdale; sisters Lorraine Bunting
of Milford, DE and Marie Pike of Ashville, NC; daughter in laws Patricia Cramer of DE and
Lori Cramer of FL; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great
grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sons Thomas and David Cramer; her daughter Anna Quillen
and a brother Pete Dufraine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. John the
Evangelist Church in Honesdale. Interment will be Thursday at 11 AM at the Milford
Community Cemetery in Milford, DE. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main
St. Honesdale, PA on Monday from 3 to 6.

Gladys M. Ritzler

Gladys M. Ritzler, 90 of Honesdale died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Brighten at Julia Ribaudo. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Otto Ritzler Sr. in 1959.

Born May 5, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Coyne Rhodes. A housewife and mother, she enjoyed crocheting and watching the New York Mets. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish.

Surviving are her sons Edward Ritzler Jr. and wife Rita of Pleasant Mount, Tim Ritzler of Honesdale and Joseph Ritzler and wife Patricia of Buffalo, NY;  daughters Carol Ann D'Aquisto and husband Paul of Spring Hill, FL and Regina Ripper and husband Donald of Lancaster, NY; beloved friends Fran and Vinny Valenti of Bethpage, NY; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Leonard "Sunny" Rhodes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St.

John the Evangelist Church. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Sunday from 1 to 4. As per her request, cremation will follow with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Brighten at Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home, Attn: Activities Dept., 1404 Golf Park Dr. Lake Ariel, PA 18436.

Olga Yadlosky Moll

Olga Yadlosky Moll, 91 of Honesdale, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Marian Community Hospital in Carbondale. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard L. Moll who died Dec. 31, 2002. The couple married June 14, 1941.

Born April 18, 1918 in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Gratson Yadlosky. In 1936, she graduated from Waymart High School and soon after began working at Katz Underwear Factory where she was employed for 46 years. She was life long member of St.

Tikhons Monastery in South Canaan. She and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the US and Canada.

She is survived by her sister Catherine Lilholt of Cinnamenson, NJ; a cousin and caregiver Marlene Smith and husband Donald of Honesdale; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Sophie Radice and Vera Polesnak and a brother Paul Yadlosky.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 AM at Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 9 to service time.

Janice Arlene Iacovino

Janice Arlene Iacovino, 67 of Honesdale, died Monday, July 13, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick A. Iacovino on March
27, 1999. The couple married July 14, 1959.

Born September 15, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the
late Walter and Lillian Kjeldseth Olsen. For many years, Janice was a
devoted employee of Wayne Memorial Hospital working in the billing
department. She took great pride in job and was always willing and
happy to take time to help others.

Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed traveling and was well known for
her sewing and seamstress talents. She attended St. John the
Evangelist Parish in Honesdale

Janice was a loving mother and grandmother. Friends considered her to
be there adopted mother always looking to her for guidance.

Surviving is her son Frank Iacovino, RN and wife Mary of Honesdale;
her daughter Donna Cortright, RN and husband Michael of Hawley; a
sister Barbara Scocozzo and husband Joseph of NC; grandchildren
Joseph and Jeremy Cortright and David, Madison, and Lillian Iacovino;
nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at St. John the
Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10 AM. Interment will follow in St.
Mary's Cemetery. Friends may visit the Hessling Funeral Home, 428
Main St. Honesdale on Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Memorial contributions can be made to Wayne Memorial Hospice, 601 Park
St. Honesdale, PA 18431.

Cornelius J. "Neil" Murray III

Cornelius J. "Neil" Murray III, 65 of Honesdale, died Monday, July 6, 2009 after a
valiant battle with cancer.

Born August 8, 1943 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Cornelius J. and Marcella
Ennis Murray Jr.. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1961 and served
in the National Guard Co. A 109 Mechanized Infantry of Honesdale. Neil was employed as a
service technician at Agway Petroleum Co. until retiring.

Neil was very sports minded and participated in many sports activities in the community.
He played and coached for the Hesslings Softball Team forever. Other activities include
the Halfway House and Leunes pool team, the Wayne Industrial Bowling League, and played
in the Wayne County Hozzie League. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
Aerie# 1858, the Texas Rod and Gun Club which he was the past president and Road Warrior,
Honesdale Golf Club and St. John the Evangelist Parish.

He enjoyed trips to Ontario fishing, Myrtle Beach to golf and especially frequent trips
with the family to Utah to visit his son.

Surviving is his son Cornelius J. "CJ" Murray IV of Sandy, UT; his daughter Julie N.
Murray and fiancee Cody Gilbert of Honesdale; his former wife and long time friend
Victoria Frindt Fritsch; a brother James J. Murray and wife Joanne of Honesdale; a sister
Maureen A. Pykus of Cold Springs; nephews Billy and Tony Pykus and Taylor and Travis
Murray; an uncle Gerald Ennis and an aunt Jeanne Ennis, RN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist
Church in Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may visit
the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale from 4 to 8 on Thursday.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Texas Rod and Gun Club, 664 Grove St. Honesdale
or to the donors favorite charity.
