Thirty Seniors Recognized As Leaders
Clubs, Athletics, Attendance, Scholastic Standings Upheld By Graduating Group
Every age has had its leaders. Alexander, Caesar, Napoleon, Wilson, Edison, Lindbergh and Roosevelt, among a host of others, have held their respective places on the
ladder of outstanding achievements. Every movement owes its success to the tenacity and ability to do of a few men and women.
It is no less true of our own 1934 graduating class that its organizations, athletic teams, attendance and scholastic standings have been led and upheld by certain
outstanding members. The picture of these people appears in this issue of the Spotlight.
For the most part, these seniors of 1934 represent those who have gained recognition through leadership, scholarship or athletic ability. There are cases, however,
where others not pictured have been equally as active and have done their share in making the class of 1934 one of the most outstanding to be graduated from
Coatesville High School. We cannot all be leaders, there must be followers.
The respective positions which have qualified these people for this picture are: William Batteiger, president of Dramatic Club; Margaret Bickham, president of Girls
Hi-Y Club; Robert Callahan, vice-president of senior class of 1934; Mary Cifranic, honor pupil; Elizabeth Copeland, honor pupil; Priscilla and William Cuff, perfect
