MICHAEL L. HEILMAN SR.
Michael L. Heilman Sr., 31, of Uniontown, won his battle with his family at his side and went to be with God, Sunday, March 5, 2000, in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland. He was born April 15, 1968, in Uniontown, the son of Robert L. Sr. and Dolores (Burgess) Heilman of Uniontown. Mr. Heilman was preceded in death by a son, Cody Heilman; and his grandparents. He was a security specialist for Loss Prevention Inc. in Pittsburgh, a member of the Hutchinson Sportsmen's Club in Hopwood, and a member of the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, and a 1987 graduate of Laurel Highlands Senior High School. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Susan E. (Stefancik), whom he married Feb. 14, 1991; four children, Michael L. Heilman Jr., Bailee M. Heilman, Cole M. Heilman, and Max M. Heilman, all at home; a brother, Robert L. Heilman Jr. of Connellsville; a sister, Lisa DeMaiolo of Monaca, Pa.; grandmother, Ruth Kay of Uniontown; his Father - and mother -in-law, Emery and Irene Stefancik of Harrison City; and many caring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and numerous special friends. Lillian Hoffman, 90, of Greensburg, formerly of upstate New York, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in the Woodhaven Care Center, Monroeville. She was born Sept. 29, 1909, in Claridge. She was retired from Lederle Laboratories, upstate New York. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Tina Luzetti; and a brother, Harry Prioni. Survivors include a son, Doyle Gillespie and wife, Joan, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Sean Gillespie and wife, Rita, of Irwin, Drew Gillespie, and Kristen Miller and husband, Timothy, all of Greensburg, and Jason Gillespie of Moon Township; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kalyn and Brennen Gillespie and Jade, Brooke and Bailey Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Paul A. Kmetz, 74, of Crafton (Pittsburgh), on Saturday, March 4, 2000. Beloved husband of Lois Gradler Kmetz. Dear Father of Paul A. II (Mary Catherine) and Robert Kmetz; and three grandchildren. ADAM J. KRAVICE
Adam J. Kravice, 78, of Brown Street, Everson, died Sunday evening, March 5, 2000, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, where he was admitted Saturday. He was born in Monarch, Pa., April 10, 1921, a son of the late Adam J. Kravice Sr. and Agatha Bolda Kravice. Adam was a longtime and faithful member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson, and its Holy Name Society. He previously served on the church Parish Council and was a former usher. Adam was the leader of the "Music Masters," a well-known Polka band in the area with which he was active for over 20 years. He was a retired welder with 33 years of service with Gould Electronics, the former I.T.E. of South Greensburg. Adam was a 4th Degree member of the Catholic Knights of Columbus, Bishop O'Connor Assembly, Mt. Pleasant. He was an active and lifetime member of the Polish American Club of Everson, a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Scottdale, the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post, the Scottdale Firemen's Club, and was a former member of the Everson Volunteer Fire Department. Adam leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Cecelia Sknerski Kravice, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage on April 15, 1999; his children, Adesta J. Keefer and her husband, Jim, of Pennsville, Larry E. Kravice and his wife, Barb (Meckley), of Mt. Pleasant, Karen A. Posta and her husband, Keith, of Inverness, Fla., and Mary Helen Ferrell and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Gertrude) Iannini of Aliquippa; and a very special friend and neighbor, Marty Adobato. In addition to his parents, Adam was preceded in death by five sisters , Mary Stryczek, Catherine Mosholder, Vickie Banasick, Martha Martin, and Nellie Piesecki; and a brother, Joseph Kravice. Louise Baughman Krnosky, 81, of Mt. Pleasant RD1 (Norvelt), died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Pleasant Unity, the daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha Kachera Baughman. She was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, in August of 1995; and a brother, Clarence Baughman. She is survived by two children, Barbara Yanuck and her husband, Stanley, of Mt. Pleasant, and Gerald Krnosky and his wife, Irene, of Mt. Pleasant RD1 (Norvelt); three grandsons, David Yanuck of Bear Rocks, Michael Yanuck of Scottdale, and Douglas Krnosky of Greensburg; six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jeffrey, Kristen, and Mackenzie Yanuck, and Alex and Eric Krnosky. Lottie L. Loughner, 85, of Penn Township, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. She was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Harrison City, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Nora Hill Bollinger. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Harrison City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Loughner, in 1981; and two brothers , Benjamin and Herbert Bollinger. She is survived by a son, Milton J. and wife, Mary Loughner, of Penn Township; a daughter, Janet and husband, Wayne Watson, of Larimer; a brother, Daniel Bollinger of West Middlesex; five sisters , Mary Cline of Harrison City, Dolores Kebler of Export, Audrey Poole of Greensburg, Mae Stull of Donegal, and Betty Bollinger of West Middlesex; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Anna Rebecca Miller Nicholson, 89, of Mt. Pleasant RD1 (Norvelt), died Monday, March 6, 2000, in IHS of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Calumet, a daughter of the late Logan F. and Dora Belle Hamilton Miller. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the American Heating Company, Greensburg. She was a life member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trauger, with 34 years of perfect attendance. She also was a member of its ELCA and a retired Sunday school teacher; and a member of the Mt. Pleasant and Norvelt Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and the following brothers and sisters : Laura Lowers, Hazel Peffer, L. Francis Miller, Henrietta Miller, Elizabeth Baker Ault, William F. Miller, Robert J. Miller, Martha Miller and Dora Belle Angus; and three nephews, George Lowers and Donald and Robert Peffer. She is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Iome Peffer, Jean Anspach, Logan Lowers, Helen Bell, Lois Shaffer, Lorraine Marshall, Erna Marie Borland, Paul Miller, Carl Miller, Howard Baker, Leona Lewis, William, Wayne, Clair, Arthur and Logan Miller, John Duane Angus, and Karen Lipyance (who lovingly attended to her aunt's needs). Barbara Jean Orf, 63, of Punxsutawney RD4, Porter Township, Jefferson County, formerly of Derry Township, Westmoreland County, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, in her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1936, in New Alexandria, a daughter of Frances Porter McCune and the late James McCune Sr. She was the owner/operator of Orf Catering, Punxsutawney. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Congregation, Punxsutawney. In addition to her Father , she was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Henry. Survivors include her mother , Frances Porter McCune; her husband, Clarence Oliver Orf II; a daughter, Deborah L. Coley of Garfield, N.J.; three sons , Lyle R. Stein of Haverhill, Mass., Todd A. Stein of Clarksburg, Pa. and James A. Stein of State College; a sister, Ruth Sebring of Florence, Ariz.; a brother, James McCune Jr. of New Alexandria; and four grandchildren, Zachery T., Kaitlyn M., Ivy R. and Benjamin K. Stein. Philip L. Pacelli, 79, of Jeannette, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at home. He was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Jeannette, a son of the late Antonio and Martella Crete Pacelli. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Electric Co., Electro-Mechanical Division in Cheswick. He was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette, a member and past president of the church's Holy Name Society and also past president of the Deanery. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers , James, Michael, Joseph and Edward Pacelli. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rose Williams Pacelli; two sons , Robert and William Pacelli, both of Jeannette; four sisters , Teresa Pacelli and Elizabeth Rugito, both of Jeannette, Mrs. Harry (Dolores) Baird of Florida and Antoinette Hensberger of Laurel, Md.; two brothers , Victor Pacelli of Greensburg and John Pacelli of Jeannette; five grandchildren, Donna, Paul and Diana of Lower Burrell, and Kristin and Anthony of Jeannette; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nellie O. Osenkoski Pierce, 89, of Irwin, died Monday, March 6, 2000, in the Presbyterian Senior Care Center, Oakmont. She was born Jan. 24, 1911, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline Golkoski Osenkoski. Prior to retirement, she was a telephone operator for the Department of the Army. She was a breeder of teacup poodles and other fine breeds of dogs. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel "Slim" Pierce; a son, Joseph R. Jackson; a grandson, Joseph B. Jackson; and six brothers and sisters . Surviving are six grandchildren, Cheryl Jackson, Darla Paganini, Lisa Danza, John Jackson, Heather Squire and Randy Jackson; seven great- grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Jackson of North Hills; and several nieces and nephews. Paul "Turk" Serbanjak, 77, of Herminie (Evanstown), died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born April 19, 1922, in Evanstown, Hempfield Township, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Boltes) Serbanjak. Paul "Turk" was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II with the 364th Fighter Group. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a coal miner with Consolidation Coal Co., having last worked in the Hutchinson Mine. Paul "Turk" also was self-employed as owner/operator of Paul's Mobil, which included gasoline and groceries, and also was the neighborhood gathering place and official "card room." Paul "Turk" was one of the founding members of the "Little Sewickley Anglers." He was a member of the Herminie S.N.P.J. Lodge #87, and was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed east coast fishing trips with his family and friends. He also coached boys baseball and girls softball. Paul "Turk" is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Rebecca (Karr) Serbanjak; sons , Paul "Turk" at home, John "Pickles" and his wife, Tammy, of Jeannette and Russell and his wife, Joni Karr, of Evanstown; daughters , Karen and husband, David Murray, of Darragh and Patty and husband, Jim Smith, of Wyano; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Serbanjak and his wife, Donna, of Evanstown; a sister, Mary Sova and husband, Ed, of Keystone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
