ELIZABETH TETKOSKI

Elizabeth "Betty" Tetkoski, 78, of Ligonier, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born March 13, 1922, in Wilpen, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Powanda Fitchko. She was a member of St. John Eastern Orthodox Church, Wilpen, and the Ladies Altar Society. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Fitchko; a sister, Helen Horansky; and an infant sister, Maria. Betty is survived by her husband of 51 years, Vincent M. Tetkoski; three sons , Charles M. of Morgantown, W.Va., David V. and his wife, Denise, and Robert P. and his wife, DeAnne, all of Ligonier; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Derek, Casey, Kori, Alyssa, and Jess; three sisters and three brothers , Anne Fitchko of Ligonier, Mary Fitchko, Mrs. Ernest (Jeanne) Petrucci, John and Peter Fitchko, all of Wilpen, George Fitchko of Palm Coast, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and Panachida service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Church, Wilpen, with the Rev. Ronald Kovac as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Wilpen. Elizabeth Snyder Bloom, funeral director.

IRENE ZVARYCH

Irene Zvarych, 75, of Scott Township, after many months of suffering, shortly after midnight on Sunday, May 21, 2000, Irene breathed her last and went to be with the Lord. Beloved wife of Eugene. Beloved mother of Adrian Zvarych of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Christine Cammarata of Scott Township. Grandmother of Matt and Natalie Cammarata and Tina Marie Zvarych. Friends will be received at the VLADIMIR S. CORBA FUNERAL HOME, 300 E. Main St., Carnegie, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carnegie. Parastas Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

MARLENE F. APODACA

Marlene F. Apodaca, 52, of Greensburg, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. She was born Feb. 24, 1948, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Helen Linhart Retondola. She was a member of the Ascension Church, Jeannette. Marlene was a lung transplant recipient. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Vottero. Surviving are her husband, Joe Apodaca; three daughters , Wendy M. Perkins and husband, Dan, of Jeannette, Danielle M. Apodaca and Michelle M. Apodaca, both of Greensburg; a son, Anthony J. Apodaca and wife, Phaedra, of Luxor; a sister, Mary Ellen Steppits and husband, Marty, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Erica, Courtney, and Alex; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family. The JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., Jeannette, is in charge of arrangements.

BARBARA A. AZZARELLO

Barbara A. Azzarello, of Leechburg, died Sunday, May 21, 2000. mother of Raymond, Charles and George Hays of Natrona, James Hays of Natrona Heights, and Kelly Mitch and Elizabeth Hays of Leechburg. Sister of Dolores Layne of Bethel Park and Betty Detisch of Nevada. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Azzarello was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Azzarello; and a son, Thomas Azzarello. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SPERLING FUNERAL HOME INC., 408 Cedar Ave., North Side. Funeral Wednesday, notice of time later.

MARGARET M. JENNINGS BARRETT

Margaret M. "Tillie" Jennings Barrett, 70, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at home. She was born June 2, 1929, in North Huntingdon, a daughter of the late Emil E. and Mildred H. Kerr Jennings. She was a graduate of Irwin High School Class of 1948. She is survived by her husband, R. Dale Barrett; a son, Gary O. Barrett of Reynoldsville; three grandsons; a sister, Sally Johnson of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and a brother, Edward R. Jennings of Greensburg. There will be no viewing. Private interment will be in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Irwin, in charge of arrangements.

CATHERINE I. BONGARTZ

Catherine I. Bongartz, 45, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Sept. 19, 1954, in McKeesport, the daughter of Irene Zyra Izbicki of Irwin and the late John Izbicki. She was employed as a professor of nursing by Allegheny County Community College and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her mother , she is survived by her husband, Aloys G. Bongartz; her son, John A. at home; and a brother, Timothy J. Izbicki of Everett, Wash. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Church, followed by interment in St. Mary's Polish Cemetery, McKeesport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westmoreland-Fayette Boy Scout Council, Cabin Hill Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.

CLIFFORD G. FRISKY

Clifford G. Frisky, 89, of Latrobe, died Monday, May 22, 2000, in the Loyalhanna Care Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1910, in Manato, Pa., a son of the late Theodore and Margaret Boley Frisky. He was the owner for 53 years of Cliff Frisky's Barber Shop, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the church choir, and was a former member of the church council and of the Latrobe B.P.O. Elks 907. Mr. Frisky was a longtime volunteer for the Latrobe Area Hospital, where he and his late wife were representatives of Priority Care. Mr. Frisky loved to walk his little dog, Cuddles, who was a faithful companion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Rebecca Igo Frisky, in 1993; a daughter, Rebecca Jean Frisky; a granddaughter, Baby Davis; and a brother, Charles Frisky. He is survived by two sons , Robert C. Frisky and his wife, Michelle, of Latrobe and William K. Frisky and his wife, Jane, of Ohio; two daughters , Mrs. James (Mary Lou) Davis and Mrs. Jack (Ilene R.) Keefe, both of Latrobe; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Margaret West of Latrobe; five nieces; and a nephew. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family R.C. Church. Interment in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township. The Holy Name Society will recite the rosary Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

KIM S. KURUC

Kim S. Kuruc, 46, of Allegheny Township, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in her residence. Born March 1, 1954, in New Kensington, she was a daughter of Glenn and Jean Allen Klingensmith. She had lived in the Kiski area all her life. Kim had owned the Markle Mall in Allegheny Township and had written for the Valley News Dispatch; had been the Allegheny Township secretary for a number of years and helped start the Crime Watch Program in the township; was a placement person with NORTHCO V-Tech for the physically challenged; had been a deputy prothonotary with Westmoreland County; earned a degree in computer science at Penn State; was active with local politics and enjoyed gardening, word puzzles and writing. Survivors include her husband, Steve Kuruc; her mother , Jean Klingensmith of Allegheny Township; her Father , Glenn Klingensmith of Harrison, Ind.; and two sisters , Terri Katora of the Markle section of Allegheny Township and Jann Pollick of Allegheny Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME, A Golden Rule Member, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

JOHANNA SAVOR LASLAVIC

Johanna Savor Laslavic, 88, of Etna, on Sunday, May 21, 2000. Beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Laslavic (JL); mother of Patricia Oresic, Joanne Shuker, Joseph M. Laslavic III, and Jim Laslavic; also 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Sister of Elizabeth Costanzo, Tillie Marsico, and the late George Savor, Helen Bursich, and Joseph Savor. Friends received from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the OGRODNIK-HAHN FUNERAL HOME, 333 Butler St., Etna. Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Church, Etna, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Parish vigil at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Laslavic was a member of S.N.P.J., All Saints Christian Mothers, and Ladies Social Club. Family requests memorial contributions to All Saints School.

JAMES A. LAYMAN

James A. Layman, 61, of Ruffsdale RD1, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at home. He was born April 7, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Clement and Anna Delona Crouse Layman. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Geraldine Layman and Shirley Layman. He is survived by two sons , James Layman and wife, Susan, of Ruffsdale RD1 and Craig Potoka and wife, Lisa, of Scottdale; five grandchildren, Brad and Taylor Layman and Brandie, Brina and Bobbi Jo Potoka; two brothers , Phil Layman of Greensburg and Wayne Layman of Youngwood. There will be no viewing. Visitation Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael A. Milinovich officiating.

JOHN E. LEESE

John E. Leese, 99, of Delmont, formerly of Jeannette RD1 (Penn Township), died Monday, May 22, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, one week short of his 100th birthday. He was born May 29, 1900, in County Derry, Ireland, a son of the late John E. and Fannie Hopper Leese. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Delmont and was a member of the former St. John's Lutheran Church in Boquet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Ortha M. Bush Leese, in 1997. He is survived by two sons , John H. Leese and his wife, Kathleen, of Greensburg RD9 and Earl D. Leese and his wife, Lois Allene, of Greensburg RD3; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Leese's family will receive friends at the JOHN L. BASH FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, (724) 468-8381, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral home hours: Wednesday 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Frederick C. Heitzenroder, officiating. A graveside service and interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Should friends desire, memorial remembrances may be made in Mr. Leese's name to the Salem Lutheran Church, 301 E. Pittsburgh St., Delmont, PA 15626.

AMANDA A. LONG

Amanda A. Long, 92, of Ruffsdale RD1, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in the Hempfield Manor. She was born Oct. 6, 1907, in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late James I. and Jennie Stimmel Hough. She was a member of the former Kingdom Missionary Church, South Huntingdon Township. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Long, in 1974; a brother, Clarence Hough; and two sisters , Viola Hebenthal and Ella Barnhart. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Krofek of Ruffsdale RD1; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 136, Madison, Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Raughley officiating. Interment will follow in the Alverton Cemetery, East Huntingdon Township.

IDELL F. McCUTCHEON

Idell F. McCutcheon, 85, of Delmont, formerly of Washington Township, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Washington Township, Westmoreland County, a daughter of the late Clarence M. and Flora A. Iseman McCutcheon. She had lived in Washington Township most of her life. She taught at Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in Pittsburgh and worked for many years at Kaufmann's in Pittsburgh. Also, she was a member of Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Washington Township. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers , Leonard C. and Gene H. McCutcheon Sr.; and two sisters , Hazel M. McCutcheon and Margie M. Shuster. Survived by a sister, Mrs. Irene B. Hawk of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 100 Owens View Drive, Apollo. Service from the funeral home Friday, May 26, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Upton officiating. Interment Poke Run Presbyterian Cemetery, Washington Township.

John Stuart Pringle Sr., on Sunday, May 21, 2000. Beloved husband of Mary McEvoy Pringle. Father of Mary Lou Dickerson, Linda Ann Rudzinski of Ohio, Cynthia C. DeFilippo, John Stuart Pringle Jr. of Florida and Dr. Jacqueline Pringle Gendell. Also survived by 10 grandchildren. Funeral from McCABE BROS. INC. FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut St., Shadyside, Thursday at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Raphael's Church at 10 a.m. Visitation with the family Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Angels Fund at St. Raphael's Church, 1118 Chislett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
