EMILY A. (DOLENSKY) McFADDEN
Emily A. (Dolensky) McFadden, 91, of New Stanton, formerly of Turtle Creek and Wilkinsburg, died Friday, May 19, 2000, in Greensburg. Born March 30, 1909, in Shafton, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Lacina) Dolensky. Prior to retirement, she was employed as an LPN by the United Presbyterian Home for the Aged in Wilkinsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer McFadden, in 1965; a brother, Harry Dolensky; and four sisters , Florence McElfresh, Josephine Hazel, Anna Wegley and Violet Dolensky. She is survived by two sons , Homer A. (wife, Phyllis) McFadden Jr. of Oriental, N.C., and Robert L. (wife, Noreen) McFadden of Provo, Utah; a daughter, Emily A. (husband, Thomas) Kelly of Hempfield Township; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Samuel Scheiderer officiating. Catherine Maloney McSorley, on Saturday, May 20, 2000. Beloved wife of the late John McSorley Jr. mother of John McSorley III, M.D., Michael M. McSorley, Cathleen M. Stanton, David P. McSorley and Mary H. McSorley. Grandmother of Michael M. McSorley Jr., Devon C. McSorley, Ann McSorley Stanton, Blake Stanton, Quinn Stanton and Mercedes Bian McSorley. Sister of Eva M. Lawson. Mrs. McSorley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. and Mercedes Vilsack Maloney; two sisters ; and a brother. Friends will be received at JOHN A. Russell H. Naylor, 76, of Elizabeth Township, died Saturday, May 20, 2000. He was a retired draftsman from Mesta Machine Co. of Homestead. He is survived by his wife, Alice Talbot Naylor; a son, Russell M. Naylor; and three granddaughters, Amber, Kristen, and Lauren Naylor, all of North Huntingdon; two sisters , Louise Brennan and Betty Bright; and nieces and nephews. Daniel Anthony "Dan" Nicoletti, 54, of Monroeville, suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2000. Beloved Father of Dina Nicoletti Krause and Father -in-law of Eric Krause. Pap to Logan, Justin, Ryan and McKenna Krause. Beloved son of William and Nellie Nicoletti. Former husband of Michele Nicoletti. ROBERT RUSSELL OSTERWISE JR.
Robert Russell Osterwise Jr., 53, of Scottdale, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 20, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, April 28, 1947, a son of the late Robert Russell and Violet Jean Watson Osterwise. Bob was a member of the Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton. He was a former dispatcher for the police, fire and ambulance in the borough of Scottdale for many years until the inception of the 911 emergency system for the borough and surrounding communities. Bob was also a former member of the Civil Air Patrol for 12 years where he held the rank of second lieutenant. He was an associate member of the Mon Valley Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #87 and a member of the Scottdale Fraternal Order of Eagles. Bob was an avid Citizen Band radio operator going by the handle of "Ironside." He is survived by two sisters , Dr. Ethel Marjorie TaVoularis of Bakersfield, Calif., and Olive Violet O'Mara of West Valley City, Utah; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sisters , Odessa Jean Ward, on Feb. 25, 1990, and Ruth N. Benford, on Jan. 6, 1977. ADOLF PENDRO
Adolf Pendro, 92, of Level Green, formerly of North Braddock, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in the UPMC Braddock. He was born June 9, 1907, in North Braddock, the son of the late Stephen and Mary Evans Pendro. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Air Brake, Wilmerding. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church and the Greek Catholic Union SOKOL Lodge. He was an avid sports enthusiast and played semi-pro football in the 1920s and 1930s. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Sarah Blasovich Pendro. Loving Father of Rose Marie DeCastro, Patricia A. Coulters, Adolph S. "Bud" Pendro and Thomas E. Pendro. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends were received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DAVID A. Martin Thomas Perichak, 94, of North Braddock, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in Beverly Manor, Monroeville. He was born Jan. 9, 1906, in Braddock Hills, a son of the late Martin and Cecelia Martinich Perichak. He was the husband of the late Ann Ragan Perichak. He was retired from USX Edgar Thomson Plant, and was a member of the Swissvale Bowling League. He is survived by two daughters , Juanita McFeeters of Monroeville and Barbara Penman of White Oak; a brother, Stephen Perichak of Norwin; a sister, Katherine Kost of Evans City; an aunt, Eva Perichak of Swissvale; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Perichak; and two sisters , Theresa Garshak and Barbara Perichak. Friends are welcome Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DREW J. Mary Rinaldi Peters, 97, a resident of Westmoreland Manor, died Friday, May 19, 2000. She was born Aug. 5, 1902, in Italy, a daughter of the late Carmine and Eufemia Caparosa Salvatore. Mary was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Nick Rinaldi, and her second husband, Fred Peters; three sisters , Pansy Salvatore, Susan Fiorina Capone and Margaret DePonte; a brother, Joseph Salvatore; and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte "ChiChi" Rinaldi. She is survived by four sons , Arthur J. Rinaldi and wife, Carmella, Anthony P. Rinaldi, Louis V. Rinaldi and wife, Bea, and James D. Peters and wife, Christine, all of Jeannette; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Jennie Povirk, 82, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Collinsburg, Pa., died Friday, May 19, 2000, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Jan. 11, 1918, in Collinsburg, a daughter of the late Matthew and Jennie Bugatei Povirk. She was Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Coccoli; and a brother, Victor Povirk. Surviving are two brothers , Frank Povirk of Yukon and John Povirk of Missouri; three sisters , Mary DeCenzio of Pittsburgh, Matilda VanSummers of Wayne, Pa., and Pauline Petroka of Charleroi; and several nieces and nephews. Helen Korcinsky Sam, 77, of West Newton, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born April 3, 1923, in Rankin, a daughter of the late Paul Korcinsky and Susan Fortuna Artim. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Sam, in 1983; and a brother, Joseph Korcinsky. She was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton, and a former Sunday school teacher. She had received a B.S. in 1970 and an M.A. in 1972 in elementary education from California State College. She was an elementary school teacher for the Yough School District, and former principal of the Sutersville Elementary School. She was a member of the Catholic daughters of America Court Miriam 1350 and a former Girl Scout leader. She is survived by two sons , Robert Vuyanich of West Wilmerding and Paul Sam of West Newton; two daughters , Susan McBride of Sutersville and MaryEllen Lewis of McKeesport; seven grandchildren; a brother, Mike Korcinsky Artim of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three sisters , Mary Korcinsky Jacobs of Cleveland, Ohio, Ann Korcinsky Fedor of North Versailles and Margaret Korcinsky Fenchak of Monroeville. Friends will be received at the RICHARD F. DODSON MEMORIAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton, Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family R.C. James L. Schrock, 62, of Missouri City, Texas , formerly of Boswell, Pa., passed away Friday, May 19, 2000. John J. Sherbuck, 70, of Greensburg, formerly of Norvelt, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Mammoth, a son of the late John and Mary Vojeck Sherbuck. He was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, and also attended the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. He was a veteran of the National Guard, having served in Germany during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters : Margaret Fialla, Mary Hanrey, Agnes Stewart and Pauline Funk and Frank, Andrew, Joseph, John Jr. and Steve Sherbuck. Surviving are two sisters , Mrs. Stanley (Catherine) Bosich of Norvelt and Mrs. Anna Thomas of Latrobe; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JAY A.
