MARY F. KASTAN BROZAK

Mary F. Kastan Brozak, 82, of East McKeesport, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at UPMC McKeesport. She was born July 16, 1917, in United, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Scntylany Kastan. She was a retired employee of Gimbels Department Store, North Versailles, and a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Brozak; and a brother, Joseph Kastan. She is survived by two sons , John E. "Jack" Brozak of Springdale, Pa., and Gerald J. Brozak of West Newton; a daughter, Barbara J. Margueriet of East McKeesport; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Stephen "Fuzzy" Kastan of Yuba City, Calif.; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Interment will follow at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

ISABELLE T. GALLAGHER

Isabelle T. Gallagher, 96, formerly of Belmont Road and North Main Street, Butler, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at 1 a.m., in Outlook Pointe Commons, Saxonburg. Born in Sharon, Pa., Jan. 10, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Cameron Thomson. She was a former legal stenographer, having worked for various attorneys in Butler. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, Butler, and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #45. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noel H. Gallagher, on March 23, 1984; five brothers ; and a sister. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. James A. (Mary) Dunbar of Port Clinton, Ohio; a stepson, Robert S. Gallagher of Greensburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a niece. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., 124 E. North St., Butler, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with her pastor, the Rev. James L. Smith, officiating. Interment in North Side Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 N. Main St., Butler, PA 16001.

MILFRED ERWIN McCORMICK

Milfred Erwin McCormick, 80, of Laurel Gardens, on Thursday, May 18, 2000. Beloved husband of Alice Mazzoni McCormick. Father of Peggy Mahoney of Penn Hills and Raymond M. McCormick of Upper St. Clair. Grandfather of John Oglesby, Christian Mahoney, Ryan McCormick and Brett McCormick. Mr. McCormick was a World War II veteran, having served eight years with the U.S. Army Air Force. He was with the 338th Bomber Squadron - 96 Bomber Group, serving in air offenses in Europe-Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. In recognition of his services, he had received the Distinguished Unit Badge, the European-African Service Medal with six Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. McCormick had retired from J.B. Reynolds Glass Co., where he had been a glazer for 15 years. He held memberships with the American Legion - Oakland Post, the International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied Trades, West View Hunting & Fishing Club, and the Faith Lutheran Church of Laurel Gardens. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME INC., 1032 Perry Highway, Perrysville, where funeral service will be held Monday 1 p.m. Entombment Lakewood Memorial Gardens.

NELLIE L. ONDICK

Nellie L. Ondick, 80, of North Versailles Township, formerly of Carrick, on Wednesday, May 17, 2000. Widow of Michael E. Ondick. Survived by daughter, Carol Boros and her husband, John Boros; two sisters ; a brother; nieces and nephews. Friends received at the DANIEL F. VERNON P. PAGANO

Vernon P. Pagano, 56, of Florida, formerly of Braddock, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in the Holmes Regional Medical Center, Florida. He was born Sept. 23, 1943, in Braddock, a son of the late Rocco and Madelyn Douglass Pagano. He was employed as marketing manager for Intersil of Palm Bay, Fla., for the past 15 years. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Palm Bay, Fla., and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Pagano of Florida; a daughter, Marie Southwick of San Diego, Calif.; a stepson, Scott Taylor of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Linda Kolaya of Chicago, Ill.; and two brothers , Dan Pagano of Denver, Colo., and Ray Pagano of Madison, Wis. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment and graveside services will be held in Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 2800 Aurora Road, #I, Melbourne, FL 32935-2099.

PAUL E. PARK

Paul E. Park, 86, of Latrobe, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at the Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center. He was born April 17, 1914, a son of the late John Park and Kathryn Park. He was a retired supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, a member of the Latrobe United Presbyterian Church, and was a graduate of St. Vincent College. Paul was a veteran serving in the Army during World War II, and was a member of Loyalhanna Lodge #275 F&AM and the American Legion Post #515. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde E. Park; and a sister, Kathryn C. Park. He is survived by his nephew, C. Roger Park and his wife, Colleen, of Latrobe. Friends will be received at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Friday from 6 until 8 p.m., at which time service will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald W. Graff officiating. Interment Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Masonic funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and a veteran service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Friday, both in the funeral home.

ROBERT G. SHIREY

Robert G. Shirey, 81, of Ligonier, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Ligonier Township, a son of the late Lawrence J. and Ruth Nicely Shirey. Bob and his brother, Dean, owned and operated Shirey Farms and the former Shirey Hotel in Ligonier. He also was a real estate agent for more than 10 years. Bob served as a Westmoreland County commissioner from 1972-1976. He was a lifetime member, elder, deacon and trustee for the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ligonier. He served as president and treasurer on the Ligonier Valley School Board for 12 years; former board member and secretary for the Eastern Area Vo-Tech School Board; former chairman, treasurer and secretary for the Ligonier Township Republican Committee; former president of the Bells Protective Association Sportsmen's Club; and he served as Republican chairman for the 59th Legislative District. He was a member of the Ligonier Lodge #331 F&AM and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Millicent "Millie" Brant Shirey; a daughter, Mrs. Morgan (Mary Louise) Barclay of Elkhart, Ind.; two sons , Robert D. (and wife, George Anne) Shirey of Draper, Utah, and Larry E. (and wife, Georgie) Shirey of Ligonier; grandchildren, Robert, James, Gary and Jessica Shirey, Christopher and Ryan Barclay, and twins, Benjamin and Alexander Shirey; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Fry of Greensburg; a brother, L. Dean (and wife, Barbara) Shirey of Ligonier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, Sunday from 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ligonier, with the Rev. Robert D. Cummings officiating. Interment in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier. Memorial gifts may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church or Ligonier Valley Library. Ligonier Lodge #331 F&AM will hold services in the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

JOSEPH J. SIMA

Joseph J. Sima, of Cinnaminson, N.J., on Wednesday, May 17, 2000. Age 90. Loving husband of Mary (nee Humenansky); dear Father of Dora Mae Piacentino and her husband, Rudolph, of Jeannette, Thomas Sima and his wife, Margaret, of Mountain Top, Pa., Mary Ann Dicken and her husband, Ronald, of Willingboro, N.J., and Barbara Tumolo of Cinnaminson, N.J.; dear grandfather of Debra, Richard, Deanna, Danielle, Dawn, Kelley, Sean, and Thomas; and great-grandfather of eight. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. in SNOVER-GIVNISH of Cinnaminson, N.J., 1200 Route 130 North, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo, New Jersey. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, New Jersey. Viewing will be 7 to 9 Friday evening and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cooper Trauma Center, 1 Cooper Plaza, Camden, NJ 08103, Attn: Leslie Mars.

LAURA MARSH WENGERT

Laura Marsh Wengert, 87, of Greensburg, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, in the Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center, Greensburg. She was born April 18, 1913, in South Greensburg, a daughter of the late Frank F. and Mary Lawlor Marsh. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William W. Wengert Sr.; a brother, Frank Marsh; and four sisters , Mary Louise Goulding, Lillian Marsh, Patricia Saunders and Jean Hindman. She is survived by a son, William W. Wengert Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Greensburg; two daughters , Barbara Ann Wengert and Mary Elizabeth Hays and her husband, George, all of Greensburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers , William Marsh and his wife, Mary, of Greensburg, Robert Marsh and his wife, Margaret, of Greensburg, and Thomas Marsh and his wife, Florence, of Jupiter, Fla. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. Dean A. Davidson officiating. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be placed with the First Baptist Church, 1228 Brinkerton Road, Greensburg.

ELEANOR (ODELLI) ANGELO

Eleanor (Odelli) Angelo, 81, of Smithton, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Dec. 31, 1918, in Smithton, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Reghini) Odelli. Eleanor was the owner and operator of Eleanor's Hotel in Smithton for 55 years. She loved serving her customers daily and became well-known for her fried chicken on weekends. Eleanor was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Smithton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Miles Angelo; and two brothers , Donald and Delmar Odelli. Eleanor is survived by her first husband, Joseph Bosetti of Fitz Henry. She was the beloved mother of Mrs. Marlene Fabean and her husband, Jack, of Smithton; beloved grandmother of Jack Fabean and his wife, Sherrie, of West Newton and Mrs. Mona Shaffer and her husband, John, of Smithton; and beloved great-grandmother of Jonathan, Justin and Jared Shaffer and Jimmy and Stefanie Foster. Eleanor was also the beloved stepmother of Mrs. Judith May and her husband, Mike, of Sutersville and James Angelo of Belle Vernon; and beloved stepgrandma of Sherry and Scott May and Jimmy, Miles and Donna Angelo. She is survived by a brother, Melvin Odelli and his wife, Joyce, of Smithton; a sister, Mrs. Gwen German and her husband, Pete, of Smithton, with whom she resided; and a sister-in-law, Ann Odelli of Smithton. Eleanor was also the beloved aunt of Mrs. Lisa Nickels and her husband, Francis, of Herminie and Donald "Hutch" German and his wife, Diana, of Pittsburgh; the beloved great-aunt of Erica and Hilary Nickels and Lexie and Tyler German; and beloved aunt to Delmar, Darlene, Darryl and Terry. Also numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, many of whom were customers during her 55 years in business. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, (724) 446-7251, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at noon in St. Timothy R.C. Church, Smithton, with the Rev. Paul R. Stivason as celebrant. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery. A St. Timothy parish rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

WAYNE C. BARCHESKY

Wayne C. Barchesky, 69, of Latrobe RD5, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Derry, a son of the late Buddix and Melva (Dando) Barchesky. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Derry. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Retired after 36 years of service at Teledyne Vasco and he owned and operated Barchesky Service Station since 1957. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Carrie. Surviving are his loving wife, Helen Shick Barchesky; three sons , Richard A., Terry W., and Edward T. (and his wife, Diane), all of Latrobe RD5; his daughter, Linda Barchesky of Charleston, W.Va.; two brothers , Donald of Derry RR3 and Burton of Derry; four grandchildren, Joseph, Andy, Beth, and Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Derry, with the Rev. Stephen West as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Church Cemetery, Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to Latrobe Area Hospital Cancer Clinic.

BONNIE L. (FORBES) BLAKE

Bonnie L. (Forbes) Blake, 61, of North Irwin, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at McKeesport. She was born Sept. 25, 1938, in McKeesport, a daughter of Grace (O'Bryon) Forbes Burchell and stepfather, Eugene Burchell, of North Huntingdon, and the late Cletus John Forbes. She was a member of Norwin Christian Alliance Church and a former member of North Irwin Women's Club. She is survived by her husband, James P. Blake; two sons , David Blake and wife, Karen, of Penn Township and James Blake and wife, Amy, of Larimer, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Vickie Ethier of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Bill Forbes of Ruffsdale; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Ethier, Jay Ethier, James Tomko, and James Perry Blake III. In addition to her Father , she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Dube. Friends received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Norris officiating. Interment Irwin Union Cemetery.

DOLORES RUTH SHAW BROWN

Dolores "Dede" Ruth Shaw Brown, 77, of Dravosburg, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at UPMC McKeesport. Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Glassport, she was the daughter of the late John L. Shaw and Ethel Barbetta Shaw Hayes. Prior to retirement, she was the student supervisor at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church, Dravosburg; Dravosburg Women's Club; and Golden Triangle Bull Terrier Club. A 1940 graduate of Glassport High School, she was also a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She is survived by her husband, John M. "Jack" Brown; a daughter, Joyce L. Brown of West Newton; a son, John R. Brown of Latrobe; two brothers , Bill Shaw of Ocean City, N.J., and Roy Shaw of North Huntingdon; and three grandchildren, Ashley and Jaclyn Brown and Richard Sano. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerrold D. "Jerry" Brown. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the I.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 Fourth St., Dravosburg, where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Mounts officiating. Interment in Richland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amity Presbyterian Church.
