RITA SCHMUCK CORNALI

Rita Schmuck Cornali, 77, of White Valley, formerly of Claridge, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000. Born Jan. 1, 1923, in Claridge, a daughter of the late F. Louis and Mary (Cima) Calgaro. Rita was a retired employee of Sterling Box in Jeannette. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Export, S.N.P.J. Lodge #7, Claridge, and the Bushy Run American Legion Auxiliary and the A.U.F. #149. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Schmuck, in 1969; and Arthur Cornali, in 1986. Also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Calgaro. Surviving are two sons , Jerald Schmuck of California and Edward Schmuck and wife, Lois, of Harrison City; a daughter, Rita Saulle and husband, Tony, of Greensburg; four stepchildren, Roberta Fix and husband, Carl, of Trafford, Bart Cornali and wife, Barb, of Latrobe, Bernard Cornali and wife, Mary Beth, of White Valley, and Robert Cornali and wife, Pam, of North Huntingdon; a brother, Louis Calgaro and wife, Rita, of Jeannette; and a sister, Viola Kelly and husband, Jim, of Wexford. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Export, with Father Dismas Young as celebrant. Interment St. Barbara Cemetery, Penn Township.

ODELLA GRACE DUVALL

Odella Grace "Mickey" Duvall, 80, of Harris Street in West Newton, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born March 9, 1920, in Alicia, Fayette County, a daughter of Manila Mae Prosser and the late William J. Prosser. Mickey was a 33-year member of the First United Methodist Church of West Newton, where she served for a time as a Sunday school teacher and the reporter for the United Methodist Women's Organization until 1990. She attended the Brownsville Area School System, graduating in the Class of 1939. For the last seven years, she joined her husband, the Rev. John E. Duvall, as he served as the pastor at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Greensburg. Mickey is survived by her husband of 55 years, the Rev. John E. Duvall; sons , John E. Duvall Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Dayton, Tenn., and Todd A. Duvall and wife, Darlene, of North Huntingdon; daughters , Jill A. Stewart and husband, William, of East Millsboro, Pa., Deborah L. Landsperger and husband, Larry, of Valley, Ala., and Pamela L. Lowanse and husband, Kenneth Sr., of West Newton; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, plus two more soon to arrive. She is also survived by her 101-year-old mother , Manila M. Prosser, formerly of Brownsville, currently residing in the Posis Nursing Home in Charleroi; two sisters , Mildred Teasdale of West Brownsville and Betty Gene Bernhagen of Brownsville; a brother, William J. Prosser Jr. of New Eagle; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the RICHARD F. DODSON MEMORIAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton, and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, West Fourth and Euclid Avenue in Greensburg, where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Services will be conducted by the Rev. C. Russell Kerr and District Superintendent the Rev. Gerald Schmidt. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Milinovich presiding. Memorials may be made either to the First United Methodist Church of West Newton or the Trinity United Methodist Church in Greensburg.

HELEN JANE GESS

Helen Jane Gess, 81, of New Alexandria RD2, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born July 2, 1918, in Penn, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Elvira Brown Morgan. She was a member of the Congruity Presbyterian Church, New Alexandria RD2. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Gess, in 1960; by a son, Lawrence W. Gess Jr., in 1981; and by a number of brothers and sisters . She is survived by three children, Nina Jane Hullenbaugh and her husband, Russell, of New Alexandria RD2, Donna Lee Platko and her husband, Dennis, of Avonmore, and David R. Gess and his wife, Karen, of New Alexandria RD2; a daughter-in-law, Margaret T. Gess of Saltsburg; a brother, Donald Morgan of North Carolina; a sister, Faye Highberger and her husband, Howard, of Madison; a grandson and a granddaughter, David Robert Gess and his wife, Hope, of Export, and Shelly Lynn Cope of Greensburg; and two great-granddaughters, Caitlyn Gess and Kealy Cope. Mrs. Gess's family will receive friends at the JOHN L. BASH FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, (724) 468-8381, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral home hours: Friday 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. H. Clifton Foster officiating. A chapel committal service and interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

SYLVESTER J. GRAY

Sylvester J. Gray, 91, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Loyalhanna Care Center. He was born Aug. 10, 1908, in Boytington, Pa., a son of the late John C. and Maude Starr Gray. He was a retired inspector for Teledyne and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn M. Desmonde Gray; a son, Arthur W. Bailey of Stahlstown; three daughters , Mrs. Robert (Esther) Seranko of Latrobe, Mrs. Paul (Rosella) Tripodi of Indiana, Pa., and Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Meredith of Johnstown; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Thomas M. Lukac as celebrant. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Unity Township.

ROBERT J. HEDBERG

Robert J. Hedberg, 81, a lifelong resident of Southwest Greensburg, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, in the Integrated Health Services of Greater Pittsburgh in Greensburg. He was born July 29, 1918, in Southwest Greensburg, a son of the late Aaron and Elise Martinsen Hedberg. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the former Walworth Valve Co. of South Greensburg. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Greensburg, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith M. Harshell Hedberg, on Jan. 30, 1993; and by a sister, Eleanor Sapper. He is survived by a brother, Harry and his wife, Mildred Hedberg, of Greensburg RD2; and five nieces, Audrey Otero of Lorain, Ohio, Shirley Glatstein of Germantown, Tenn., Donna Watters of Greensburg, Lois Richards of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Jean Ray of Irwin. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gene R. Stuckey Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.

KATHRYN HENDERSON

Kathryn Henderson, 90, of Bolivar, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Bethlen Home, Ligonier Township. She was born Nov. 2, 1909, in Fairfield Township, a daughter of the late Paul S. and Elsie Seigh Yeager. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the U.S. Post Office as a clerk in Bolivar for 28 years. She was a lifelong member of the First Church of Christ, Bolivar, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 60 years. She was a member of the Laurel Valley Senior Citizens, a volunteer at Indian Haven Rest Home and coordinator for the Bolivar Well Baby Clinic for 18 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. Graeson " White y" Henderson, in 1954; a son, Wayne Elliot Henderson; sisters , Ruth Henderson and Virginia Moore; and brothers , Paul Sherman, William Robert, and Davis Lee Yeager. She is survived by a son, Ralph W. (and his wife, Barbara) of Greensburg; grandchildren, Allison, Kevin (and his wife, Kim) Henderson, Jodi (and husband, Tom) Schneider, and Alan Henderson; great-grandchildren, Nicole Denier, Ryan and Asia Henderson; two sisters , Alice "Ash" Yeager (and friend, Don Mock) of Bolivar and Mildred "Mootz" Yeager of Bolivar; a nephew, whom she helped raise, Cory (and wife, Cindy, and daughter, Courtney) Yeager; two nieces, Mrs. Ron (Lana Gale) Lear and Mrs. James (Sandy) Carter; a great-niece, Mrs. Wayne (Jill and daughters , Kelsy and Kassidy) Warfel; and several other nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, Bolivar. Service will be held Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. in First Church of Christ, Bolivar, with the Rev. Jay Eastman and William Flickinger, elder, co-officiating. Interment Fort Palmer Cemetery, Bolivar. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, P.O. Box 23, Bolivar, PA 15923.

ROBERTA M. KITTELL

Roberta M. Kittell, 81, of Porter Avenue, Scottdale, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 17, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born in North Braddock, Oct. 20, 1918, a daughter of the late William Edward and Elizabeth Kerner. Roberta married Al F. Kittell in February 1942, and they resided in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh for many years. Roberta was the first woman president of the Shadyside Chamber of Commerce, which she helped to organize. She graduated from North Braddock High School and the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in education. She and her husband moved to Meadville during the 1970s, where she served as an employee and bookkeeper for the Kebort Construction Company. She was Protestant by faith. Roberta is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Al F. Kittell; a son, William Edward Kittell of Erie; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Dignified cremation arrangements are under the direction of the ROBERT B. MICHAEL REGRUT

Michael Regrut, 91, of East Pittsburgh, on Wednesday, May 17, 2000. He was a retired employee with 42 years of service at USX, Edgar Thomson Plant, retiring in 1971. He was a well-known amateur bowler and an avid golfer. Husband of the late Catherine C. (Snopko) Regrut; Father of Ronald G. Regrut and Betty Jane Payne, both of East Pittsburgh; grandfather of Kristine Orosz and Lori Payne, both of East Pittsburgh; and brother of Anna Motto of Ross Township and Steve Regrut of North Huntingdon. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters : Peter, John, Andy, Sam and Mary Regrut and Julia Marchinski. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at PATRICK T. IRENE D. SUPINSKY

Irene D. Supinsky, of Broughton, Pa., on Tuesday, May 16, 2000. Beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Supinsky. mother of Theresa A. Smith of Bridgeport, W.Va., Joseph M. Supinsky of Reading, Mich., and Irene B. (McComb) Daly of Pittsburgh; also eight grandchildren. Sister of Frank Szymanski and Henry Szymanski. Friends received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GRIFFITH MORTUARY INC., 5636 Brownsville Road, Broughton-Curry-South Park Township. Funeral prayer Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Church at 11 a.m.

THEODORE STEPHEN TRZOS

Theodore Stephen "Tadju" Trzos, 68, of Export, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C. He was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Export, a son of the late Jennie (Rulyak) Trzos and Karl Trzos. In his youth, he was a flight simulator trainer in the U.S. Navy. He had a career in sales, and was a talented saxophonist and accordion player, as well as percussionist in the Navy Band. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Slickville American Legion, the PNA and the Italian American Club, both of Export. Mr. Trzos relocated to Wilmington, N.C., where he enjoyed spending his retirement years watching classic movies, cooking, and taking scenic driving excursions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann, in 1989; and a sister, Louise, in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Wilmington, N.C., and former wives, Annabell Trzos and Peggy Trzos; a daughter, Mrs. Aaron (Margaret) Ferris of Boston, Mass.; two sons , Carl of Export and Ted of Wilmington, N.C.; three stepsons, Dean and David, both of Wilmington, N.C., and John of Lilburn, Ga.; and four sisters , Mrs. William (Anna) Mazur of Export, Mrs. Andrew (Sophie) Yandora, Mrs. David (Kay) Newingham and Mrs. John (Eleanor) Yandora, all of Latrobe. There will be no visitation. Committal service will be held Thursday, May 18, at 1 p.m. in Grandview Cemetery, Export. Arrangements by EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export.

LILLIAN E. URSO

Lillian E. Urso, 77, of Homestead, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in her residence. She was born March 27, 1923, in Herminie, a daughter of the late Flora Clacombe. She was a housewife. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Assembly of God in Lincoln Place. Along with her mother , she was predeceased by her husband, Charles C. Urso, in 1988. She is survived by six children, Dwaine Churma, Ronnie Churma, Diane McMahon, Marie Urso, Kathleen Stone and Charles V. Urso; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria, where services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Terry J. Carnahan, pastor of the Community United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria.

FRANKLIN R. WOLFE

Franklin R. Wolfe, 77, of 238 Leedy Way West, Chambersburg, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 14, 1923, in Rochelle, Ill., and raised in Jeannette, he was a son of the late Fred and Laura Amour Wolfe of Jeannette. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. An accountant, he worked for Grey's Accounting Service. He previously taught penmanship for the Peterson Co., and was principal of Mountain View Elementary School in the Tuscarora School District, near Mercersburg. For a number of years, he worked at Wal-Mart of Chambersburg. A member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 Veterans of Foreign Wars and B.P.O. Elks 600, he had served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Wolfe played the piano with Sounds of the Decades band. He enjoyed flying and riding his motorcycle. Surviving are his wife, Harriett Hetrick Wolfe; two daughters , Linda (Mrs. Bill) Brown of Chambersburg and Lana Faeth of California; a brother, Keith of South Carolina; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert of Jeannette in 1998. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 13, at St. John United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stephen Hoffman officiated. Private burial was at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements were by the CREMATION SOCIETY OF PENNSYLVANIA, Harrisburg.

ELEANOR (ODELLI) ANGELO

Eleanor (Odelli) Angelo, 81, of Smithton, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Dec. 31, 1918, in Smithton, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Reghini) Odelli. Eleanor was the owner and operator of Eleanor's Hotel in Smithton for 55 years. She loved serving her customers daily and became well-known for her fried chicken on weekends. Eleanor was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Smithton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Miles Angelo; and two brothers , Donald and Delmar Odelli. Eleanor is survived by her first husband, Joseph Bosetti of Fitz Henry. She was the beloved mother of Mrs. Marlene Fabean and her husband, Jack, of Smithton; beloved grandmother of Jack Fabean and his wife, Sherrie, of West Newton and Mrs. Mona Shaffer and her husband, John, of Smithton; and beloved great-grandmother of Jonathan, Justin and Jared Shaffer and Jimmy and Stefanie Foster. Eleanor was also the beloved stepmother of Mrs. Judith May and her husband, Mike, of Sutersville and James Angelo of Belle Vernon; and beloved stepgrandma of Sherry and Scott May and Jimmy, Miles and Donna Angelo. She is survived by a brother, Melvin Odelli and his wife, Joyce, of Smithton; a sister, Mrs. Gwen German and her husband, Pete, of Smithton, with whom she resided; and a sister-in-law, Ann Odelli of Smithton. Eleanor was also the beloved aunt of Mrs. Lisa Nickels and her husband, Francis, of Herminie and Donald "Hutch" German and his wife, Diana, of Pittsburgh; and the beloved great-aunt of Erica and Hilary Nickels and Lexie and Tyler German. Also numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, many of whom were customers during her 55 years in business. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, (724) 446-7251, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at noon in St. Timothy R.C. Church, Smithton, with the Rev. Paul R. Stivason as celebrant. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery. A St. Timothy parish rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
