OZENE MOUBRAY BASTL
Ozene Moubray Bastl, 89, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born April 2, 1911, in Fulton, Ky., a daughter of the late Coe and Nola Wright Moubray. She was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Bastl; and two brothers , Joseph and James Moubray. She is survived by a son, David F. and his wife, Diane Bastl, of North Huntingdon; and a granddaughter, Kristine Bastl. Friends were received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Weeber officiating. Interment will follow at Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.
ALBERT E. CINIBULK
Albert E. Cinibulk, 73, of Loyalhanna, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born April 7, 1927, in Loyalhanna, a son of the late Robert and Roseann Prohaska Cinibulk. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by Teledyne-Vasco Co. with 36 years of service. He was a member of Local #7297 United Steelworkers of America; Chesky Lev #234 of Loyalhanna; a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in Miramas, France; a member of American Legion Post #515. He had a great passion for nature and found much joy in his flowers and birds, especially the purple Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tillie Rusenko Cinibulk. Survived by a daughter, Roseann Penrose of Ligonier; a brother, Robert Cinibulk of Loyalhanna; and three sisters , Marian, Irene, and Joann Cinibulk, all of Loyalhanna; also survived by a loving companion, Sibby McLaughlin. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A blessing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Lawrence C. Harr Jr., 70, of Latrobe (Unity Township), died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at home. He was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Unity Township, a son of the late Lawrence C. Sr. and Maude E. (Baum) Harr. Prior to retirement, he was a truck driver for Nickles Bakery, Blairsville, and previously worked at the former Sani-Dairy in Ligonier and Huffman's Dairy in Whitney. He was a member of the Bell Memorial Church, Whitney, and the Blairsville VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ryan Lawrence Harr and a baby boy Harr; his brother, Clarence W. Harr; and four sisters , Alice Allshouse, Clara Harr, Ella Mae Hoffer and Gladys Bates. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie R. (Palmer) Harr; three sons , Lawrence C. III and wife, Lorraine, of Mt. Pleasant, Jeffrey L. and wife, Kathleen, of Latrobe and Mark C. Harr and wife, Lorraine, of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, Maeanne L., Douglas L. and Erik L. Harr, Kelly L. Shomo, Michelle L. Harr and Nicholas D. Mizikar; two sisters , Mildred Miedel of Wimmerton and Mrs. Bud (Mary) Snyder of Derry; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. DOROTHY COCHENOUR MARTIN
Dorothy Cochenour Martin, 79, of Greensburg, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 31, 1920, in Madison, a daughter of the late Ida Pearl Trout and William Harry Cochenour. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a teller at the Greengate branch of Dollar Bank. She was a faithful member and lay leader of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher of the United Builders Class. She had been heavily involved at the district and conference levels of the United Methodist Church, having been a delegate to the Annual Conference, the Registrar of the Lay Speaking School, and a district board member of Ordained Ministry. Mrs. Martin was also an election board officer for 29 years, a volunteer at the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, and a member of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society. She formerly was the president of the Fort Allen PTA and was the first president of the Harrold Junior High School PTA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Martin, on July 11, 1992; two brothers , William and Glenn Cochenour; and three sisters , Ida Landis, Ruth Herrick, and Ruby Cochenour. Mrs. Martin is survived by her loving family, three children, Linda Martin McElroy and her husband, James, of New Paris, Bedford County, Janet Martin Hepler of Kittanning and the Rev. David Ralph Martin and his wife, Karen, of Oakland, Md.; eight grandchildren, Dr. Steven McElroy and his wife, Betsy, of Philadelphia, Erin McElroy of New Paris, Laura and Nathan Hepler of Kittanning, and Ruth, John, Anna, and Timothy Martin of Oakland, Md.; and a sister, Anna C. McGuffey of Smithton. She is also survived by her devoted friend, Robert Elder of Greensburg. Dorothy Martin's life was made full, complete, and rich by the way she lived: learning, laughing, loving, and leaving a legacy through her children and grandchildren. Edward Bitner Porch, 90, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Kecksburg, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born April 5, 1910, in Kecksburg, a son of the late James Albert and Emma Bitner Porch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna McKenna Porch; a brother, Clyde T. Porch; and two sisters , Jeanne Simpson and Ferne Green; a stepdaughter, Lindy Coughenour; and a stepson, Chauncey McKenna. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the World Book Encyclopedia Company, and was a school teacher for the Hurst High School. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and also attended the First Brethren Church, both of Sarasota. He was a member of the Lewistown Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Iona Shaffer Porch; a stepdaughter, Shirley Jones Rusinko and her husband, Michael, of Norvelt; a stepson, William McKenna and his wife, Jean, of Bedford, N.H.; a stepson-in-law, George Coughenour of Hollidaysburg; and numerous stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Michael Joseph Schlegel, 18, of Irwin, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Ocean City, Md. He was born Oct. 9, 1981, in Jeannette, a son of Robert A. and Debbie Wilson Schlegel of Irwin. He was a junior at Hempfield High School. His hobbies included skateboarding and playing his drum. He was a member of Bare Knuckles Discussion. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Chad, at home; paternal grandmother, Clara Schlegel; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Wilson, both of Irwin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pauline Kottar Serro, 93, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, May 14, 2000. Born Aug. 10, 1906, in Arona, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael Kottar and Frances (Renko) Kottar. She was part-owner of the Serro's Diner. She was a member of the S.N.P.J. Lodge of Herminie, also the German Lodge of Herminie. She was the loving mother of the Rev. Richard Serro (Betty) of North Huntingdon and Louis M. Serro Jr. (Dolores) of North Huntingdon. Predeceased by her husband, Louis Serro Sr., who died in 1974, as well as two brothers , Michael Kottar and Frank Kottar; and two sisters , Jennie Pushnik and Frances Flere. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She retired after 25 years in office personnel for Wickes Furniture of Monroeville. mother of Richard E. of Plum and Wendy Szypulski of Monroeville; grandmother of Kristin Todero, Jennifer and Molly Wiesmore, Amy and Michael Szypulski; sister of the late Robert E. Kaufman. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Donna Kaufman; also three nephews and a niece, and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. Jesse C. Wiltrout, 83, of White , died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Bullskin Township, a son of the late James and Emma Dillinger Wiltrout. Jesse was a lifelong member of the Mt. Salem United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was a former student of the Stouffer School and Scottdale High School. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a charter member and treasurer of the Bullskin Senior Citizens. Prior to retirement, he operated the family dairy farm, and was the self-employed owner of the Jesse C. Wiltrout Tree Trimming Service. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Olive Snyder Wiltrout; three sons , Carl E. Wiltrout and wife, Doris, of Connellsville, William L. Wiltrout and wife, Jennifer, of White and Gerald R. Wiltrout and wife, Alma, of White ; four daughters , Marlene Shaffer and husband, Bill, of Mt. Pleasant, Doris Crabtree of Connellsville, Jane Ritenour and husband, Gary, of Connellsville and Linda Greenawalt and husband, Randy, of White ; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a brother, Walter G. Wiltrout and wife, Ellree, of Scottdale Star Route; a sister-in-law, Laura Wiltrout of Scottdale; and a brother-in-law, Steve Kovach of White . Jerry C. Yanniello, 79, of Youngwood, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 2, 1920, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Joseph S. and Josephine Pollice Yanniello. He retired from Westinghouse (Powerex Inc.), Youngwood. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Youngwood, a member and past exalted ruler of B.P.O.E. 511, Greensburg, a charter member of the sons of Italy, Mt. Pleasant, past president of the Powerex Federal Credit Union, and a former member of the Youngwood Food Bank. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Fry Yanniello; a daughter, Jayne Poydence and her husband, Denny, of Pittsburgh; and three sisters , Margaret Terlicki of Detroit, Mich., Lucy Lankey of Mt. Pleasant and Angeline Kolbasa of Farmington, Mich. He was preceded in death by two brothers , Frank and Michael Yanniello; and three sisters , Mary Kachmarik, Clara Gwizdalla and Anne Skapura. A. Grace Stine Algeo, 85, of Pittsburgh, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center of Lancaster County. She was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Jefferson County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ernest LeRoy and Georgia Ethel Whitacre Stine. She moved to Pittsburgh at the age of five, where she remained for nearly 81 years. She retired in 1974 as a medical assistant from the Falk Clinic and the Cleft Palate Clinic at the UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. She was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Her service to the church included teaching, leadership and volunteer work for various ministries. Her special interests were the sewing group and quilting circle. She was a volunteer at the Baptist Homes of Mt. Lebanon, where she later became a resident. Surviving are two sons , Wade Algeo of Spring Lake, N.J., and Arthur Algeo of Lancaster; two brothers , Glenn Stine of Carrollton, Ohio, and Robert Stine of New Matamoras, Ohio; two sisters , Dorothy Crabbs of Carrollton, Ohio, and Elsie Keuster of Steubenville, Ohio; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other close family, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers , Ralph, Lawrence and Arthur Stine. No visitation. A memorial service will be held Friday at noon in the Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, 255 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, with the Rev. Dr. John P. Powell officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, Irondale, Ohio.
