GOLDIE L. KOSLIK
Goldie L. Koslik, 77, of Monessen, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Havencrest, Carroll Township. Born in Lowber, Feb. 4, 1923, Mrs. Koslik was a daughter of the late John and Guisella Horwat Eglar. Catholic by faith, Mrs. Koslik was a member of the former Holy Name Church of Monessen and a current member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen. During World War II, Mrs. Koslik had been employed at National Tube Co. in McKeesport and had worked at Railroad Fusee in West Newton, prior to the war. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Koslik was preceded in death by a half brother, John Molnar. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, John Koslik of Monessen; three sons , John Koslik Jr. and wife, Maureen, of Belle Vernon, Terrance Koslik at home, and Larry Koslik and wife, Rhonda, of Woodsfield, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Kathy) DeLuca of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren; a half sister, Elizabeth Molnar Tumbry; two sisters -in-law, Frances Vreeland and Mildred Koslick; a brother-in-law, Joseph Koslik; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Monessen.
ARTHUR JAMES MILLER
Arthur James Miller, 87, of Greensburg RD11, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born March 25, 1913, in Hempfield Township, a son of the late James and Annie Sadler Miller. He was a retired employee of the Walworth Valve Co. in South Greensburg and was a member of the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Miller; and brothers , Howard, Elmer, Edward and Bill Miller. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Eisaman Miller; children, Jean Wills and husband, Dave, of Oakmont, Robert Miller and wife, Patty, of Colonial Heights, Va., Thomas Miller and wife, Karen, of Romulus, Mich., and Janet Hill and husband, Scott, of Greensburg; brothers , Ken Miller and wife, Beulah, and James Miller and wife, Betty; and sisters , Betty Hoak, Florence Milliron, Sarah Bianco and husband, Orlando, Dorothy Eisaman and husband, Frank, and Kate Saffer and husband, Harold; also survived by five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. INA JEAN QUEER
Ina Jean Queer, 77, of Mt. Pleasant RD1 (Norvelt), died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 21, 1922, in Carpentertown, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Brenner Hunter. She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Bridgeport 50 Plus Group, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the administrative council. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Queer Sr., on Sept. 15, 1992; five brothers , Robert, John, William, Chris and George Hunter; and a sister, Nellie McShane. She is survived by four sons , Paul Queer and his wife, Ruth "Dolly," of Kecksburg, William Queer and his wife, Donna, of Ligonier, Larry Queer and his wife, Jonna, of Laurelville and Timothy Scott and his wife, Kim, of Norvelt; two sisters , Kathryn Metz and Mary Trimmer, both of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, David Hunter of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren, Jeff and Jim Queer, Joe Ostrosky, Bill Evans, Tiffany and Jennifer Ryan, Nanci Marconi and Katey and Tim Scott; and four great-grandchildren, Kayla Queer, Brittany Clawson and J.J. and Kelsie Marconi. GLENN IRWIN WENTZELL
Glenn Irwin Wentzell, 48, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 23, 1952, in New Eagle, Pa., a son of the late Harry Louis Sr. and Catherine Espey Wentzell. He was a member of Pennsville Baptist Church. He was employed by Westinghouse Waltz-Mill as an electronics technician. He was a graduate of Charleroi Area High School, Class of 1970, and Gateway Tech with an Associate Degree in electronics. Glenn was active in the re-enactment of the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War with the 8th Regiment, Compagnie Franche de la Marine de la Riviere au Boeuf, and S.S.R.A. Re-enacting Association. In addition, he was a member of the Hempfield Grange 1952, 7th Degree Granger, and Past Master (in 1985) of Marion Lodge 562 F&AM of Scottdale and 32nd Degree Mason, belonging to the Lodge of Perfection, Valley of Coudersport, Scottish Rite Consistory of Coudersport, Pa. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Martha Glover Wentzell; five children, David S. Wentzell and wife, Dana, of Bolivar, twins, Shawn G. Wentzell and wife, Jamie, of Derry, and Dawn L. Wentzell, Carrie A. Wentzell and Joshua D. Wentzell, all at home; three grandchildren, Dakota M., Cheyenne S.K., and Austin S. Wentzell; two brothers , Harry L. Wentzell Jr. and wife, Kate, and Timothy Wentzell and wife, Leslie, all of Charleroi; and a sister, Sandra K. Kauffman and husband, Scott, of Tampa, Fla. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held in the Pennsville Baptist Church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time his funeral service will begin with the Rev. Robert H. Bixel officiating. Entombment will follow in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery Mausoleum, Mt. Pleasant Township. ROBERT D. BARTKO
Robert D. Bartko, 66, of Delmont, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in McKeesport, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Bartko. Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church of Delmont, and was retired from U.S. Steel National Tube Works in McKeesport. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn Yoncheff Bartko; a son, David A. Bartko of Delmont; a daughter, Christine M. Nixon of Towanda, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Bryan Christopher Nixon and Jarrett Brandon Nixon. The family will receive friends at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. ROLAND F. BREEGLE
Roland F. Breegle, 85, of Irwin, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 1, 1914, in New Cumberstown, Ohio, a son of the late Harry and Marie Long Breegle. He was the owner of Breegle's Contracting Services and also a past president of the American Society of Building and Construction Inspectors. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 236, Irwin, American Legion Post 359, the F.O.E. Aerie 1671, Shidle Lodge 601 F&AM, Greensburg Caravan #8, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Westmoreland Forest 77, and also the Syria Temple Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Laura E. Peters Breegle; and a sister, Marie Breegle. He is survived by two children, Ronald Breegle of Monroeville and Bonnie Chambers of Hammond, La.; two brothers , George Breegle of Panama City, Fla., and Melvin Breegle of Wichita Falls, Texas ; a sister, Elizabeth Burk of Ardara; also nieces and nephews. FRANKLIN J. DUMM JR.
Franklin J. Dumm Jr., 81, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at his home. He was born June 20, 1918, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Franklin and Mirian John Dumm. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a production supervisor for Mine Safety Appliance of Wilkinsburg. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 701 of White Oak, VFW #781 of Irwin, and a member of MSA Retirees Association. He was a Penn State alumnus where he was a member and captain of the basketball team. He attended Scott High School in North Braddock, and was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Miller Dumm, in August 1977. Surviving are a daughter, Annette Miller of Wilkinsburg; two sons , James F. and his wife, Marian Dumm, of Charleroi and Paul V. and his wife, Joanne Dumm, of North Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren, Steven, Kimberly, Catherine, Paul, Kenneth and Patrick Miller, Jeffrey, Jared, Lauren and Catherine Dumm; and five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Paul, Albert, Caprice and Austin. JEANNE FULTZ GARDNER
Jeanne "Gladys" Fultz Gardner, 85, of Greensburg, died Friday, May 12, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 5, 1914, in Mammoth, the fourth child of the late William Gould Fultz and Mary Baker Fultz. A lifelong Lutheran, she was a member of St. Luke's Church, Youngwood. She was also a 1932 honor graduate of Hurst High School, and she loved reading, gardening and family history. In addition, she was an employee of A.E. Troutman's from 1958 until 1972, when macular degeneration took most of her eyesight. For the past 66 years, she has lived in Youngwood and Hempfield Township. She was preceded in death by an infant, Thomas, in 1934; her husband of over 50 years, Edmund Johnston Gardner, in 1984; her oldest sister, Elva Hartman, in 1985; both of her brothers , William and James Fultz; and three nieces, Shirley Cunningham Chandler, Dorothy Cunningham Kessler and Gail Cunningham Hamer. She is survived by her son, Jon William Gardner of Hummelstown; her grandson, Sean Edmund Gardner of Hilliard, Ohio; her daughter, Rebecca Joan Gardner of Hempfield Township; her sisters , Margaret Johnston of Youngwood, Christine Metzler of Greensburg RD8, Rebecca Wilder of Milford, Conn., and Dorothy Mintus of Irwin; and 17 nieces and nephews. Emma West Gibala, 76, of Monroeville/Pitcairn, died Friday, May 12, 2000. Daughter of the late Bessie West Roe. Sister of the late Erma D. West (her twin) and Mary A. Fiedak. Clara E. Hough, 91, of Scottdale RD2, East Huntingdon Township, died Friday, May 12, 2000, in the Mon Valley Hospital, Charleroi. She was born Aug. 2l, 1908, in Scottdale, a daughter of the late William Clarkson and Henrietta Barnhart Hough. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Hough, in February 1975; two brothers , James and Ewart Clarkson; and two sisters , Edith Overly and Lucy Titterington. She is survived by her loving family: daughters , Clara E. Tracy and her husband, Leonard, of Corpus Christie, Texas , Nancy Johnston and her husband, Wallace, of Scottdale RD2 and Frances R. Sullivan of Charleroi; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Thelma Haas and her husband, Paul, of Pennsville. GEORGE JOHN KOSKER
George John Kosker, 87, of Locust Street, Indiana, Pa., died Friday, May 12, 2000, at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. A son of Martin and Agnes Kosker, he was born Feb. 18, 1913, in Latrobe. Mr. Kosker was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana; the Knights of Columbus Council #1481; 40 and 8 Club; American Legion Post #141; and L.O.O.M., Indiana Chapter. A veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Dan Dee Potato Chip as a salesman in the Indiana area for 35 years. Surviving are a daughter, Georgia Shultz and her husband, David, of Indiana; two grandsons, Darrick Wooten and his wife, Amy, of Phoenixville and Sean Wooten of Indiana; two great-granddaughters, Charise and Sari Wooten; and two sisters , Helen Kosker-Wasco of Latrobe and Evelyn Kosker Wickham of La Plata, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; by his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" Rising Kosker, in 1997; four brothers , Walter, Joseph, Leon and Vincent Kosker; and four sisters , Mary Gratz, Frances Kerholtz, Sara Marcinik and Gertrude Beckner. Dorothy T. Lubetz, 82, formerly of Monroeville, died Friday, May 12, 2000, in the Woodhaven Care Center, Monroeville. She was born April 22, 1918, in Albany, N.Y., the daughter of the late Albert and Bessie May Iola Sharp Tingler. She was a retired supervisor for Sears Roebuck. She is survived by two sons , Todd Locklin and his wife, Chris, of Export and Kevin Locklin and his wife, Tara, of Warrenton, Va.; a daughter, Karen Hammerlea and her husband, Ted, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Sean, Kelley, Caitlin, Cody and Devan. SCHUYLER C. MARSHALL
Schuyler C. "Jack" Marshall, 83, of California, Pa., died peacefully, with his children at his side, on Saturday, May 13, 2000. He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Warren, the son of Schuyler and Florence (Watchorn) Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters ; and in 1991, by his wife of 49 years, Doris Rosseau Marshall. He was a retired professor of U.S. and Constitutional History at California University of Pennsylvania . During his lifetime Jack also worked as an usher at Forbes Field, and taught at Langley High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of World War II and a lifelong member of the American Chess Federation. Surviving are his children, Alice M. Cook and husband, David, of Glen Dale, W.Va., and Carl F. Marshall and wife, Christy, with whom he made his home; and seven grandchildren, Steven, Andrea and Suzanne Cook, and Catie, Doris, Schuyler and Arthur Marshall. No visitation. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the United Christian Church, Malden Crossroads, California, Pa. JON MICHAEL (SHAUN) MARTIN
Jon Michael (Shaun) Martin, 37, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Connellsville, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 12, 2000. He was born May 11, 1963, in Connellsville. He was a member of St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. He was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School with the Class of 1981. He was formerly employed by Tobias Associates in Ivyland, Pa. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 493 in Connellsville. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Marla Shuma Martin, to whom he was married 5 ½ years; three sons , Shawn Martin of Waynesboro, Chris Martin of Scottdale, and Logan Martin at home; and a daughter, Nicole Martin of Waynesboro; his Father , Amilio Gallo of Scottdale; his mother , Betty Lewis of Scottdale; also Wilma Younkin of Delaware; the following sisters : Amy Gallo Cornell of Parkersburg, Pa., Christina Crupe of Gaithersburg Md., Jennifer Walker of Acme, Janetta Johnson of Scottdale, Robin Feury of Smithton, Debra Todaro of Fayette City, Vivian Cohen of Concord, N.C., Rebecca Baker of Fayette City, Mechelle Prinkey of Connellsville; and a brother, Cyrus Younkin Jr. of Owensdale.
