{em}William J. Myers, 79, of Box 136, Acosta (Somerset County), formerly of Westmoreland County, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. He was born May 4, 1921, in Kecksburg. He is survived by his former wife, Elva Jean (Sheppard) Myers; five children, James "Ted" of Columbia, Md., Denver of Arona, Sandra and Rebecca, both of Greensburg, and Leslie of Alabama; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; longtime friend, Libby Fleegle of Acosta; sisters , Mary Andrews, Gerrie, married to Lee Haines, Joan Bair and Olive Shaffer; a brother-in-law, Tom Hribal; and a special nephew, Jay Shaffer. He was preceded in death by his Father , James S. Myers, and his mother , Nettie O. Zufall Myers, several sisters and a brother. Member of Jenner Rod & Gun Club and Pittsburgh Chapter of 11th Armor Division Association. Army veteran of World War II. Former employee of PPG Industries, Greensburg. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the HOFFMAN FUNERAL HOME, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. The Rev. Gregory Stauffer will be officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Stoystown.
FRANCIS J. NEMETH
Francis J. "Frank" Nemeth, 50, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a son of the late Peter and Margaret Treszi Nemeth. He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg. Frank had been employed by the former Schneider Consulting Engineers of Bridgeville. He was a graduate of St. Vincent College and a member of the Alumni Association and the St. Vincent Fire Department. He was also a member of the St. Bruno P.T.G. of South Greensburg and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8452 of Youngwood, the Hecla Sportsmen's Club, the Laurel Highlands Model Airplane Club and the First Catholic Slovak Union (Jednota). Among Frank's other interests were baseball and music. He is survived by his wife, Linda Uhring Nemeth; a daughter, Carlese Nemeth at home; a brother, John Nemeth and wife, Joanne, of Greensburg and Sykesville; three sisters , Mary Zultanky and husband, Ed, of Jeannette, Barbara Getz and husband, Gerard, of West Mifflin and Monica Vaughn and husband, Roger, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Parastas service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 7 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Requiem Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Greensburg. Interment will follow in the Visitation Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations in Frank's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
MARY L. OSTROHA
Mary L. Ostroha, 75, of Beaver, formerly of Tarrs and McKees Rocks, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in the Medical Center, Beaver County. Born Nov. 14, 1924, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of the late Felix and Mariana Angotti Fittante. Predeceased by her husband, Rudolph Carl Ostroha, in 1988; three brothers , Frank, Michael, and Anthony Fittante; and a sister, Angeline Mersing. Surviving are a son, Steve Ostroha of Harrisburg; two daughters , Christine Bobiak and Thresa Young, both of Beaver; five grandchildren; two brothers , Joseph Fittante of New Waterford, Ohio, and Louis Fittante of McKees Rocks; and two sisters , Lucy Krupinski of Oceanside, Calif., and Rose Liba of McKees Rocks. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third St., Beaver. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver.
INA JEAN QUEER
Ina Jean Queer, 77, of Mt. Pleasant RD1 (Norvelt), died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 21, 1922, in Carpentertown, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Brenner Hunter. She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Bridgeport 50 Plus Group, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the administrative council. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Queer Sr., on Sept. 15, 1992; four brothers , Robert, John, William and Chris Hunter; and a sister, Nellie McShane. She is survived by four sons , Paul Queer and his wife, Ruth "Dolly," of Kecksburg, William Queer and his wife, Donna, of Ligonier, Larry Queer and his wife, Jonna, of Laurelville and Timothy Scott and his wife, Kim, of Norvelt; two sisters , Kathryn Metz and Mary Trimmer, both of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren, Jeff and Jim Queer, Joe Ostrosky, Bill Evans, Tiffany and Jennifer Ryan, Nancy Marconi and Katey and Tim Scott; and four great-grandchildren, Kayla Queer, Brittany Clawson and J.J. and Kelsey Marconi. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at a time to be announced. DONALD N. ZELTNER SR.
Donald N. Zeltner Sr., 70, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1930, in Latrobe, a son of the late Harry E. and Anna B. (McVay) Zeltner. Prior to retirement, he was a painter with the Painters Union Local. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Unity Township American Legion Post #982 in Pipetown and the F.O.E. #01188 of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Clair and Bill Zeltner. He is survived by four children, Donnie Zeltner Jr. of Latrobe, Vicki Ruffner and husband, Dale, of Latrobe, Trudy Horwat and husband, Rich, of Stahlstown and Doug Zeltner and wife, Annette, of Latrobe; seven grandchildren; two brothers , Raymond of Latrobe and Harold of California; and a sister, Iona Bridge of Florida. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert W. Albright, 87, of Connellsville, passed away Monday, May 8, 2000, at Mt. Macrina Manor in Uniontown. Friends received Wednesday at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale. Frances (Mitro) Benyak, 62, of Hempfield Township, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in Jeannette. She was born Aug. 5, 1937, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Marinak) Mitro. She was a vice president at Benyak Tool & Die Corp. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, and a former member of the Christian Mothers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas M.A. Benyak Jr.; and a sister, Mary Anne (Mitro) Harris. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Benyak Sr.; a son, David Benyak and wife, Cheryl, of Irwin; two daughters , Lorraine Lerch and husband, Mark, of Greensburg and Patricia Benyak of Pitcairn; a sister, Eleanore (Mitro) Schaffer of White Oak; four grandchildren, Shannon Lerch, Kylie Lerch, Bree Benyak and Britt Benyak; and several nieces and nephews. MILDRED A. CECCONELLO
Mildred A. Cecconello, 83, of Herminie, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at the Integrated Health Services of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. She was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Herminie, a daughter of the late John and Mari Zalacheck Beddick. Mrs. Cecconello was a homemaker and was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and a life member of the Herminie S.N.P.J. Lodge #87. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E., in January 1980; two sons , John "Johnny," in December 1978, and Richard, in October 1996; also brothers , Louis, John, Joseph and Frank Beddick; and sisters , Rose Padjen and Sophie Sage. Mrs. Cecconello is survived by three daughters , Mildred Gillespie, living at home, Barbara and her husband, Larry Nemec, of West Newton, and Patricia and her husband, Larry Raczkowski, of Greensburg; a son, William "Billy" Cecconello and his wife, Carol, of Jeannette; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters , Mary Cantini of Herminie and Elizabeth Highberger and her husband, Paul, of Herminie-Madison Road; and numerous nieces and nephews. ALBERTHA H. COLEMAN
Albertha H. Coleman, of Greensburg, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at IHS at Mountain View, Greensburg. She was born in White Plains, N.Y., a daughter of the late John Henry and Agnes Branch Hedley. She was a graduate of White Plains High School and had worked for the Malcolm Parry family in New York for 22 years. For many years, she was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in White Plains. She had been living in Greensburg since 1960 and was an active member of the Christ Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and worked the salad bars. She also had been a volunteer at the YWCA Thrift Shop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Henry Coleman; a brother, John Loyd Hedley; and two sisters , Leola Hedley and Dorothy Hedley. Surviving are three nieces, Leola Bryant, Naomi Gillard and Constance Farmer, and a nephew, James John Gibbs, all of New York. Relatives and friends received at the CLEMENT L. Elizabeth M. "Poochie & Porkie" Frenchik, 77, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Youngstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Hutira Rusnock. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Frenchik, on Jan. 14, 1989; three brothers , Steve, Michael E. and Joseph E. Rusnock; and a sister, Julia A. Batsa. Survivors include two brothers , Andrew Rusnock of Latrobe RD4 and Frank Rusnock of Youngstown, Pa. Also survived by several loving sisters -in-law, numerous loving nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
