BERTHA V. (LIPKE) BITTNER

Bertha V. (Lipke) Bittner, 90, of McCandless, formerly of Shaler Township, on Sunday, April 30, 2000. Mrs. Bittner was a homemaker. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Bittner; mother of Betty Jean Reed of Shaler Township, Grace Jack of O'Hara Township, Ruth Spencer of Hopewell Township, Alice Bittner of Mt. Hope, Calif., and Edward G. Bittner of Upper St. Clair Township; sister of Ida Stickney of Oakmont; also 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends received at the FRANK R. PERMAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 923 Saxonburg Blvd. at Route 8, Shaler Township, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Glenshaw, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, Hampton Township. MILDRED M. CADZOW

Mildred M. Cadzow, 88, of Greensburg, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 26, 1911, a daughter of the late John and Christina Cadzow. She was a teacher, retiring after 35 years from the Greensburg-Salem school district. She taught kindergarten and was principal at the Welty Street School. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a past president of the Greensburg College Club, a member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, a member and past matron of the O.E.S. 281 and a member of T.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter AJ of Greensburg. She was also a member of the N.E.A., T.S.E.A., and the G.S.E.A. She was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels after her retirement. She was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Caughey; and a brother, John M. Cadzow. She is survived by two sisters , Mae Pierce of Greensburg and Rachel Piribeck of Morgantown, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert C. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Redstone Highlands.

DONALD M. DiNUZZO

Donald M. DiNuzzo, 74, of Upper St. Clair, on Saturday, April 29, 2000. Beloved husband of Olga; loving Father of Donna Holdorf of Greensburg and Francis DiNuzzo of Landenberg; also five grandchildren. Mr. DiNuzzo was retired from Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Grand Knights of the Knights of Columbus and served during World War II. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at BEINHAUER'S, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, (724) 941-3211. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Entombment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. MILDRED (PARKS) BOOMER STITZER GUNTHER

Mildred (Parks) Boomer Stitzer Gunther, 91, of Greensburg, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born July 14, 1908, in Greensburg (Paradise), a daughter of the late William and Matilda Oskey Parks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Boomer, in 1939, her second husband, Charles "Ike" Stitzer, in 1958, and her third husband, Frank Gunther, in 1972; five brothers , Thomas, Howard, Lloyd, Edgar, and Russell; and a sister, Ida. She is survived by a brother, C. Arthur Parks of Uniontown; two sisters , Margaret Reed of Hagerstown, Md., and Dorothy Franklin of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Gene R. Stuckey Sr. officiating. Interment Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg.

MARGARET G. (GOLDNER) HOEGLE

Margaret G. (Goldner) Hoegle, a lifelong resident of Turtle Creek, on Sunday, April 30, 2000. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and the Catholic daughters of America at St. Colman Church. She had also served St. Colman Parish as a C.C.D. teacher, lector, and Eucharist minister. Wife of the late George Hoegle. Sister of Mildred I. Hursh of North Huntingdon, and the late Catherine Tighe and Marie Divens. Also nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, (412) 823-9350. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Colman Church Wednesday at 10 a.m.

GEORGE FREDERICK HUDSON JR.

George Frederick Hudson Jr., 57, of Seffner, Fla., passed away Friday, April 28, 2000. Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Seffner; a son, Jason and his wife, Lauren, of Seffner; a daughter, Jackie and her husband, Dwayne Kemp, of Brandon, Fla.; two sisters , Patricia Kugler of Oldsmar, Fla., and Barb Haubrich and her husband, Eugene, of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Morgan, Logan and Dalton Kemp; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the STOWERS FUNERAL HOME/BRANDON CHAPEL, 401 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, Fla. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment will follow.

DORIS G. KENNEY

Doris G. Kenney, 76, of Scottdale, passed away Sunday morning, April 30, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Doris was born Jan. 21, 1924, in East Huntingdon Township, the daughter of the late Donald A. and Margaret Hughes Graft, who passed away May 19, 1983 and Aug. 23, 1996, respectively. Doris retired with 38 years of service at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church Rectory, Scottdale, where she served as church secretary and sexton at the church cemetery. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church and was a member of the Catholic daughters of the Americas, Court Lambing #314. Doris was a graduate and valedictorian of the East Huntingdon High School Class of 1941, and was a graduate of Duff's Business School. Doris is survived by her loving family: her children, James R. Kenney. Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Mt. Pleasant, Edward E. Kenney and his wife, Nancy, of Scottdale, Margaret L. "Peg" Sirianni and her husband, Butch, of Scottdale and David A. Kenney and his wife, Linda, of Scottdale (with whom Doris resided); 12 grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Kenney, Tara Crum, Earl Gilbert, Jason, Jill, and Jeremy Sirianni, Rachael, Heather, Adam, and Philip Kenney, and Stephi Thompson; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Kenney Sr., on July 25, 1953; a daughter-in-law, Harriann Kenney, on July 25, 1996; a brother, William Earl Graft, in September 1991; and a sister-in-law, Monica Graft, in February 1999. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (724) 887-5300, e-mail rferg<\at>a1usa.net, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church with the Rev. Father Emil S. Payer as celebrant. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in the church cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited Tuesday at 2 p.m. and a parish wake service will be held Tuesday evening, both in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 416 S. Broadway, Scottdale, PA 15683, in memory of Doris G. Kenney.

KATHERINE H. KOZUSKO

Katherine H. Kozusko, 72, of Pleasant Unity, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at home. She was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Palmer, a daughter of the late John and Nell (Richardson) Wensing. She was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Kozusko Jr.; and three sisters : Mary Margaret Taylor, Geraldine Mullin and Gertrude Rushnock. She is survived by four children, Maureen Laposky and husband, Richard, of Medina, Ohio, Michael P. Kozusko and wife, Gay, of Magdalena, N.M., Diane Pawlish and husband, Richard, of Pleasant Unity and Susan Harkins of Oakland, Md.; five grandchildren, Aaron Laposky of Chicago, Ill., Robert Kozusko of Fort Collins, Colo., Shana Kozusko of Idaho, and Zachary and Nicholas Harkins of Oakland, Md.; three sisters , Genevieve Rushnock of Humphreys, Eleanor Wensing of Brownsville and Rose Marie Krall of Pleasant Unity; a brother, Ted Wensing of Whitney; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers or memorials, Katherine had requested that acts of kindness and generosity be extended to the needy or less fortunate.

JOSHUA D. MILLER

Joshua D. "Putts" Miller, 15, of Acme, died suddenly, Sunday, April 30, 2000, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Jan. 31, 1985, in Latrobe, a son of John B. and Judith A. Pritts Miller of Acme. Joshua lived in Acme all of his life and was a 9th grade student at Connellsville Junior High East. He was also a member of the Armbrust Wesleyan Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Jeremy Miller and his wife, Jody, of Bear Rocks; two sisters , Shelly Miller Coffman of Sharpsville, Pa., and Jessica May and her husband, Barry, of Normalville; a niece, Kayla Coffman; and two nephews, Kyle Coffman and Colby Pritts. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Arden Pritts of Normalville RD1; and his paternal grandmother, Bertha Faith Miller of Acme. Joshua was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Hilda Gale Miller Pritts; and his paternal grandfather, Jeremiah R. "J.R." Miller. Friends will be received in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Glen Rader officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Keslar Cemetery.

MARY C. RIGDA

Mary C. Rigda, 97, of Whitney, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1903, in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Andrew and Maria Hvizdos Rigda. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Whitney, the Jednota Lodge, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Rigda; and a sister, Sophie Rigda. She is survived by two sisters , Anna Rugh and Margaret Rigda, both of Whitney; a brother, John Rigda of Latrobe RD1; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, Whitney, with the Rev. Chad Ficorilli, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township.

EDMUND D. ROTHWELL

Edmund D. Rothwell, 85, of North Irwin, died Sunday, April 30, 2000. Born April 26, 1915. He was retired from the maintenance department at Westinghouse Electric East Pittsburgh Works and also was a self-employed building contractor for several years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Irwin, Shidle Lodge F&AM #601, Syria Shrine Temple of Pittsburgh and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh. Predeceased by his wife, Mary (Steel), who died in 1998. Survived by a son, William S. Rothwell of Irwin. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Irwin. The Rev. Frank M. Sherman will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.

ANTHONY J. SAMEC

Anthony J. "Tony" Samec, 72, of Latrobe, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in the Edgewood Nursing Center, Youngstown, Pa. He was born June 9, 1927, in Johnstown, a son of the late Augustine and Mary Yerich Samec. He was retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He had 18 years of service with the federal civil service, and was a member of the D.A.V. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Augustine Jr. and Frank Samec; and a sister, Mary Schroeder. He is survived by his wife, Sally Samec; three sisters , Ann Goodwin of Woodbridge, Va., Christine Kucharyk of Johnstown and Judy Zaffle of Sun City, Ariz.; also a number of nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Services and interment are private. Arrangements by the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Latrobe.

MILDRED P. SHAWLEY

Mildred P. Shawley, 65, of Tarrs, passed away Friday, April 28, 2000, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born July 29, 1934, in Jones Mills, a daughter of Calvin and Ruth (Vail) Henry. Preceded in death by parents; her husband, Philip; a son, Calvin; three grandchildren; a brother, Charles Henry; and a sister, Daisy Henry. Survived by children, Phylis (married to Blair) Lyons of Rockwood, Karen (married to David) Sager of Rockwood, Phillip Shawley of Acme, Goldie (married to Edward) Bazzar of Tarrs, and Marie Shawley of Tarrs; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Sister of Eldon Henry of Bakersville, Terrene Smith of Bakersville, Darl Henry of Jenners, Edith McCuster of Somerset, and Sherman Henry of Jennerstown. Member of the Center Church of the Brethren in Trent. Friends will be received Monday 2 to 9 p.m. at the MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Somerset, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor John Palko officiating. Interment Bakersville Cemetery.

VIOLA M. (FABRYCKI) SPRINGER

Viola M. (Fabrycki) Springer, 57, of Uniontown, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Beverly Health Care, Uniontown, after a brief courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 6, 1942, in Martin, the daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Sophie L. (Dudkiewicz) Fabrycki. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Fabrycki Jr.; and a sister, Antoinette M. Plourde, on March 25, 2000. She was manager of One-Hour Martinizing in Uniontown until her illness. She truly loved her work, and was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband and childhood sweetheart, Holbert J. Springer Sr.; her children, Holbert J. Springer Jr. and wife, Rena, of Uniontown, Holly D'Amico and husband, Matthew, of Greensburg, and her baby, Jamie Kurtz and husband, Daniel, of Uniontown; four grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Alyssa and Matthew; brothers and sisters , Loretta McManmon of Boise, Idaho, Theodore Fabrycki of Amston, Conn., John Fabrycki of Uniontown, Richard Fabrycki of Allison #2, Sylvia Burnsworth of Allison #2, Stanley Fabrycki of Hartford, Conn., and Walter Fabrycki of Hartford, Conn. Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS Cemetery, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Extension, Uniontown, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday at a time to be announced. Interment will be private in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
