GLADYS COSTELLO DONALDSON
Gladys Costello Donaldson, 74, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Jeannette, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, of a heart attack. Mrs. Donaldson graduated from business school in Pittsburgh. She worked in many jobs in the Pittsburgh area, including the McKee Glass Co. and the News Dispatch newspaper in Jeannette, before moving to the Silver Spring, Md., area in 1962. Mrs. Donaldson worked as a transportation specialist at the Naval Ordnance Laboratories and as a secretary at the Harry Diamond Laboratories. She retired to Chincoteague Island, Va., in 1985. She was the wife of the late John D. Donaldson, who died in 1995. Mrs. Donaldson moved back to Silver Spring in 1999. She is survived by two children, Yvonne McNally of Silver Spring, Md., and David Donaldson of Frederick, Md.; two grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin McNally; a son-in-law, George McNally; two brothers , Charles Costello and James Costello, both of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
MILDRED V. HENRY
Mildred V. Henry, 81, of Greensburg, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Greensburg. She was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Howard and Tressa Eisaman Altman. She was a member of the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, Hempfield Township, the Women of the ELCA of the church and the Harrold Grange #1984. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mabel Altman; and a grandchild. She is survived by her husband, Howard Henry of Greensburg; two sons , Karl D. Henry of Buffalo, N.Y., and Roy J. Henry and wife, Cindy, of Latrobe; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Susan) G. Eicher of New Stanton; and four grandchildren. Friends will be received in the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and additional viewing Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church. Funeral service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Robert A. Free officiating. Interment Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery. GUY R. HINES
Guy R. "Pickles" Hines, 84, a resident of Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown, formerly of Stahlstown and Ligonier, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in Arbutus Manor. He was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Mansville, a son of the late Milton and Mary Campbell Hines. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Latrobe Steel Co. for 38 years. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1934 to 1936. He was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, Ligonier, and a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Stahlstown, where he was chairman of the administrative board and a Sunday school teacher of the adult class. He was a member of Ligonier Lodge #331 F&AM for 50 years, Tall Cedars of Lebanon #77, Kedron Commandery #18, Greensburg, and the Syria Temple. Guy was a hunter safety instructor, past president of the Chestnut Ridge Lions Club and past president and fire chief of the Chestnut Ridge V.F.D. He is survived by his wife, Anna Belle Neiderhiser Hines; two sons , Scott B. and his wife, Joyce, of Ligonier and James M. and his wife, Susan, of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Gail Ann Hines Shipley of Eden Prairie, Minn.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Snyder of Melcroft. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier, where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Edward Homce, 51, of Stanley, N.C., died Monday, April 24, 2000. He was born in Export ( White Valley), July 8, 1948, a son of Stanley and Nellie Falta Homce. He is survived by his wife, Debra Crama Homce; two daughters , Amanda at home and Diana Karaffa (Jeff) of San Antonio, Texas ; two brothers , John of White Valley and Jim of Ohio; and a sister, Susan Rumbaugh (Tim) of Dawson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom. Burial took place in North Carolina.
VINCENT E. JAMISON SR.
Vincent E. Jamison Sr., 80, of White Oak, on Friday, April 28, 2000, in UPMC McKeesport. Born in McKeesport, May 4, 1919. He was retired from the former Firth Sterling, was a member of St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak, and was former treasurer of the Swedish Singing Society in McKeesport. Son of the late John Jamison and the late Alice Johnson Jamison Spears, he is survived by his wife, Lois Scott Jamison; son, Vincent E. Jamison Jr. of North Augusta, S.C.; daughters , Darlene Kaleta of Fairfield, Ohio, and Patti Miele of Herminie, Pa.; also eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Welch of Plymouth, Mich. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jane Walsh, who died Oct. 31, 1999. MARY ELIZABETH (WHITEHEAD) KRAMER
Mary Elizabeth ( White head) Kramer, 95, of Delmont, died Friday, April 28, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born July 11, 1904, in East McKeesport, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (McCune) White head Naser. Mary was the co-founder, with her husband, of Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Kramer, in 1972; a daughter, Ellen Marie Kramer; a grandson, Kenneth Vaia; a great-grandson, Davie Craig; two sisters , Martha Bushyager and Cora Belle Hoffman; and three brothers , Phillip, Russell and John Naser. She is survived by two daughters , Villia M. Kramer of Texas and LaVerne M. Vaia and husband, Jim, of Delmont; a son, Paul D. Kramer of Texas ; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. MARY D. (KENDI) MINICK
Mary D. (Kendi) Minick, 75, of Mt. Pleasant RD4, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born July 1, 1924, in Mammoth, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Vrabel Kendi. She was a member of the Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, the St. Jude Guild, the Association of the Miraculous Medal, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, and the First Catholic Ladies Association, Branch #44. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers , Michael and John Kendi; and an aunt, Sister Mary Agnella Vrabel. Survivors include her loving family: husband, Joseph T. Minick; a son, Joseph J.; a daughter, Maryann C.; a brother, Paul Kendi and his wife, Jean, of Greensburg; an aunt, Sara Kendi of Scottdale; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. THELMA E. CLUGSTEN PARFITT
Thelma E. Clugsten Parfitt, 86, of Irwin, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe. She was born March 1, 1914, in Irwin, a daughter of the late David and Bessie Porter Clugsten. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Parfitt Sr., in 1993; a sister, Grace Ward; and three brothers , Robert, Russell, and John Clugsten. She is survived by a son, Jack R. Parfitt Jr. and his wife, Betty; and a daughter, Donna Jean Fulmer and her husband, Daryl, all of Irwin; four grandchildren, Stephen Parfitt, Barbara Ann Rossi, Daryl Fulmer Jr., and David R. Fulmer; three great-grandchildren, Brytni Parfitt, Joseph Lissy, and Amber Rossi; a sister, Eleanor Patrick of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, James Clugsten of North Huntingdon; also nieces and nephews. Mary Jane Rodgers, 95, of Greensburg, formerly of New Stanton, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. Born in Darragh, Dec. 19, 1904, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Elizabeth Walthour Harrold. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Youngwood, Youngwood Democrats and The Lutheran Women's Club. She was employed by Robertshaw Controls in New Stanton, and retired from Westmoreland Manor, where she worked as a nurse's aide. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clark S. Rodgers; and three brothers , Elmer K. Harrold, Calvin Harrold and Elroy Harrold. She is survived by two daughters , Ruth Cholock of Hannastown and Mary Jane Elizabeth Rodgers of Greensburg; a sister, Annabelle Flock of Greensburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. ANTHONY I. SCOTT
Anthony I. Scott, 82, of Greensburg RD3 (Salem Township), died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. He was born May 10, 1917, in Sioux City, Iowa. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer at the Springdale Research and Development facility of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Natalie A. Polovina Scott; a son and a daughter, Byron A. Scott, Ph.D. and his wife, Cecilia, of Delmont, and Rebecca S. Warner and her husband, Larry, of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a sister, Zena St. John of Denver, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Kaylen and Cleo Warner. Funeral arrangements were private. Margaret M. (Krivi) Sobester, 80, of Monroeville, on Thursday, April 27, 2000. Beloved mother of Barbara Ann (Wayne) Stiffey, Loretta Mae (Jim) White , Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Tyburski and Joseph Thomas Sobester. Grandmother of Cathy (Ray) Hulick, Connie (Tim) Bacco, Missy (Bob) Tirpak, Wayne Eugene Stiffey, Michael and Sara Sobester, Aaron and Lori Tyburski and Jim Robinson. Seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Sobester; and her parents, Andi and Lizzie (Tenycsik) Krivi. She was also preceded in death by her siblings. Arthur R. Stout, 76, of North Irwin, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born March 2, 1924, in Youngwood, a son of the late Roy James and Anna Klingensmith Stout. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Stout; and a sister, Jessie Maughn. He is survived by his wife, Carole J. Kennedy Stout; a daughter, Gail Marion, and a son, Robert A. Stout, both of North Irwin; two grandchildren, Emily and Robbie Stout; three sisters , Helen Axton of Webster, Grace Evans of Belle Vernon, and Kathryn Olson of Michigan; a brother, Kenneth Stout of New Stanton; also nieces and nephews. John Stranko, 84, of Latrobe, died Monday, April 24, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born May 21, 1915, in Baggaley, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Anna Gourniak Stranko. He retired from Latrobe Municipal Power Authority. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters , Mary Balko and Josephine Sedlacko; and a brother, Steve Stranko. He is survived by a sister, Sophia Hrzeck of Latrobe; and numerous nieces and nephews. There were no public visitations. Services and interment were private. The JOHN J.
