Carl M. Dallas
April 22, 1934 - Nov. 3, 2004
Carl M. Dallas, 70 of Salem (formerly of Medford) died from Lymphoma on Nov. 2, 2004. No service is planned.
He was born in Grants Pass. He is a 1953 graduate of Grants Pass High School. On March 7, 1964 in Atwater Calif., he married
Peggy, who survives. They moved to Salem in 1979.
Mr. Dallas worked fro BLM for 28 years, he retired as a civil engineer technician.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and bowling. He was president of the Salem Golf Association and secretary for the Salem Bowling Association. He made custom golf clubs for friends and family.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, Peggy, survivors include, his daughter, Kimie of Carroll of Wilsonville, OR; his son, Carl Dallas III of San Angelo, TX; his sisters, Marjorie Rice and Melinda Dean both of Grants Pass, and Maralou Cross of Medford; his brother, Charles of Grants Pass; and four grandchildren.
Diana Marie Busch
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Diana Marie Busch will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
Mrs. Busch, 63, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 15, 2004) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1941 in Tacoma, WA.
Mrs. Busch worked for 25 years as a Nurses Aide at Three Fountains Rehabilitation Home, Medford until her retirement this year.
She loved taking care of her family. She was a wonderful, dedicated wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed collecting dolphins and going for rides in the country.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, John; her daughter, Debbie Bee of Illinois; her sons, Frank of Fort Hood, TX, Billy of Tillamook, OR, and Eric of New Zealand; several brothers and sisters; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Michael on Nov. 17, 1978.

Junious Burdett Lemonds
Junious Burdett Lemonds, 90, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 2004) in Medford.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Conger-Morris Funeral Home, Medford. Interment will be in Sunset View cemetery in El Cerrito, CA.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1913 in Okmulgee, OK. On March 11, 1939 in Holdenville, OK he married
Ina F. Bohanan who survives.
He worked as an electrician.
In addition to his wife, survivors include; three children; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ralph Donald Nyberg
The memorial service for Ralph Donald Nyberg will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Assembly of God Church. Pastor Tim Olson will officiate. Committal will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Nyberg, 88, of Klamath Falls, died Monday (Nov. 15, 2004).
He was born April 1, 1916 in Athol, Kansas. On Dec. 10, 1936 he married
Florence Koelmel. He has been in the community since 1967, moving from Chowchilla, CA.
Mr. Nyberg ran the Nyberg farm from 1967 to 2003. He worked for school district 549C as a yard maintenance man until his retirement in 1986.
Survivors include; his wife, Florence of Klamath Falls; a son, Charles Eugene Nyberg of Pahrump NV; two daughters, Glenda and husband Fred Erwin of Malvern AR, and Janet Mrata of Livermore CA; a brother, Jack Nyberg of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Verna and husband Glenn Walton of Klamath Falls and Patricia and husband Bob Fowler of Gold Hill. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Rayford.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, in the Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel, Medford.

Deacon Walter H. Grandon, 91, of Medford, died Wednesday (Nov. 17, 2004) at Farmington Square in Medford. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Delores L. Fairchild
Delores L. Fairchild, 78, of Medford, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 10, 2004) at 4:30 a.m., surrounded by her family and God's love at her home after a long battle with cancer through which she far outlasted any and all expectations.
She was born on October 24, 1926 in Portland, Oregon. She was known as Donnie or Irish much of her young and early adult life and lived in Portland and Eugene until married
on April 2, 1949 to James Webster Fairchild, of Bend. They soon established residency in Medford and also have a vacation cabin in Waldport. She worked as a Registered Nurse until the birth of their first child. She worked tirelessly to maintain a beautiful, joy-filled home where others were always welcome. She devoted herself to all her children's activities, a pre-school for the deaf children in the valley, lots of sewing, beach life, AA, and to making all holidays very special to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband Jim and their four children, Katie Salgado of Medford, Jim Fairchild of Hugo, Daniel Fairchild of Medford, and Amy Fairchild, also of Medford; son-in-law Milo B. Salgado; and 3 grandchildren, Dania, Karina, and Tracy James Salgado. She is also survived by her brothers James R. Irish and Lee Irish. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally M. Irish in 1998 and by her father, M. L. Dayton in 2001.
In both life and death she is an inspiration and hero. She embodied strength, grace, and dignity in every moment of her life. Her limitless, unconditional love and beauty will be treasured and remembered forever.
Jack L. Kabrich
Jack L. Kabrich, 78, of Medford, passed away at Providence Hospital. A Celebration of life will be held at 1990 Lawnridge St. in Medford from 1:00-5:00pm.
Born to Theron and Elma Kabrich on February 3, 1926 in Jacksonville, Florida. Jack married
Juanita Kabrich in 1949 then moved to the Rogue Valley in 1968 from Freemont, California. Mr. Kabrich retired from the Grocery business in 1983. His hobbies included being a Civil war buff and watching old movies.
Survived by his wife, Juanita; son Randall Kabrich from Kent Washington; daughter Sandra Kreisman from Medford, OR; one grandaughter Shamron Cook and two great grand-daughters Auriana & Annika.
Jack Kabrich was preceded in death by his mother, father and his two brothers.
John Brenhaug
The funeral service for John Brenhaug will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Paul West of Rogue River Assembly of God and Pastor Tim Olson of Bethel Church in Medford. Commital will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Brenhaug, 81, of Medford, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004.
He was born Dec. 10, 1922 in Roseau, MN. On Dec. 27, 1945 in Roseau, he married
Ethel C. Olson, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1961 from Norwalk, CA. He was a Custodian at Oak Grove School from 1962 to 1982, when he retired. He was a charter member of Bethel Church (Assembly of God).
Mr. Brenhaug served in the US Army during WWII with the European Theatre (Patton's Third Army), and recieved a Purple Heart.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Ethel C. Brenhaug, include: three sons, Dennis J. of Roseburg; Ruben John and Joseph Elliott, both of Medford; a daughter, Rebekah Ethel Jones, Medford; a sister, Inga Rugland, Roseau, MN; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Rescue Mission, 120 SE "J" St., Grants Pass, OR 97526 in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellinger and Arnold Lane.
Joseph E. Spayde
Feb. 16, 1920 - Nov. 3, 2004
After long illness from cancer, Joseph Spayde passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at his home in Jacksonville.
He was born February 16, 1920 in Nez Perce, Idaho, the fifth child of William Lafayette and Mary Adah (Smith) Spayde. In 1927 his family moved to Ashland, OR where he went to the public schools and OSU, where he played varsity basketball. In February 1942, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and transferred to pilot training with the Army Air Force, receiving his commission and pilots wings in February 1943 at Marfa, Texas. During World War II, he was an instructor pilot, teaching new cadets. He was discharged from the military at the end of the World War II and went into business in Seattle and Portland.
In April 1951 he was recalled to active duty and sent to Korea as a transport aircraft pilot with the Military Airlift Command. He remained in the Air Force, became a command pilot with over 10, 000 flying hours, trained and became a flying, ground and nuclear safety officer and, as such, served a tour of duty in Bermuda. After three years, he returned to Travis AFB in California, serving as a flying safety officer until he was assigned to Cam Rhan Bay, Vietnam as a flying safety officer for a year.. He retired from the Air Force April 1, 1970.
After retirement, he and his wife, the former Ellajo Watson of Ashland, traveled the west coast of British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and Mexico for a year and returned to the Rogue Valley and bought a home in Jacksonville. He found joy in growing fruits and vegetables and sharing with his neighbors, friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing and wintering in Mexico and salmon fishing on the Kenai River of Canada.
He is survived by his wife, Ellajo of Jacksonville; his son, Terry of Jacksonville; a daughter, Linda; one granddaughter and great grandson of Portland, and a sister, Esther Gates of Rainier; and many nieces and nephews.
Joseph enjoyed many people and is remembered by them for his great sense of humor.
No service is planned. A family celebration of his life will be next summer.
Lillian Edith Wood
(July 14, 1912-September 7, 2004)
Lillian was born in Chisholm, Minnesota to Joel and Ellena Sikkila. Both her parents were from Helsinki, Finland and came to the United States in 1909. Lillian was one of 13 children. In April, 1938, she married
Chester A Wood. They had 4 children.
Lillian was preceded in death by her son, William A. Wood, who died in 1948. Her husband also preceded her in death in 1977.
Lillian was a devout member of the Jehovah's Witness 's and attended the Shady Cove Kingdom Hall. She loved nature, religious and classical literature and music, and kept a lifetime correspondence with her lifelong friend, Lillian Krogerus of Chisholm, Minnesota.
Lillian Edith Wood died peacefully at home. She is survived by 3 of her children, Judith E. Gilbert, Medford, OR; Joel C. Wood, Eagle Point, OR; John A. Wood, Hibbing MN. Lillian is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
We will miss her greatly.
Sheryl Shaw
Sheryl (Millhouse) Shaw, 39, died Thursday, November 11, 2004 in her home in Medford, OR.
She was born on April 22, 1965 in Medford, Oregon to Clarence and Doris N. (Lee) Millhouse.
Sheryl will live on in the hearts of all her family and friends who loved her. Sheryl was a loving compassionate soul, even through her own tribulations. Most of her life was devoted to being a personal care giver. She gave tender loving care to the ill, the handicapped, the frail and the less fortunate souls. She loved her children Nick and Kaylynn and her dog "Chance." They were the center of her world. She was a Christian and loved to share her love of God. Her siblings remember her hugs. They were huge bear hugs and came from the heart.
She is survived by her parents Clarence and Dotty Millhouse; children Nick and Kaylynn Shaw; grandfather Earl Millhouse; grandmother Katherine Kerr; sisters Judy Williams, Laura Kaufman and Lisa Rupert; brothers David Lilly and Robert Millhouse; nieces Stephanie, Sabrina, Sundra, Tonya, Sarah, Kyndle and Amanda; nephews Eric, Adam, Christopher and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris and Grandmother Ruby Millhouse.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Perl Funeral Home 2100 Siskiyou Blvd. Interment will take place after in the Siskiyou Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the D.A.R.E. program.

Von W. Pulsipher
Von W. Pulsipher was born on March 4, 1928 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 11, 2004 at the age of 76.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his daughters Kellena Collier (Adam) and Tamalyn Peltier (Stephen), his brother Vern Pulsipher (Ilene), and sisters Nola Felt (Leon), Ruth Cushman (Leonard), and Ella Tobiasson (Corwin).
Shortly after completing high school in Hurricane, Utah, Von attended college at Utah State, and later Brigham Young University and Southern Oregon College. After receiving draft orders in 1950, Von entered the U.S. Army where he fought on the front lines in Korea, earning a purple heart. After his release in 1952, Von moved to Ashland, Oregon where he worked in the timber industry intermittently for the next 50 years. Von served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: Eastern Canada (1954-56) and Western Canada (1961-64). Von married
Nancy Bundock in August 1960, and they made their home in Ashland. Von served as a Bishop for the LDS Church in Ashland and as a Stake President for the Medford Oregon Stake. Von's life was filled with service to others. He was a patient, strong, but gentle man, who loved nature. He is loved as much as a father and husband can possibly be loved.
Funeral services will be held in the Ashland LDS Chapel on East Main and Clay St. at 10 am on Tuesday, Nov 16. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.

Alexander 'Al' Deubert
Alexander "Al" Deubert, 90, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 24, 2004) surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at the Eagle Point National cemetery.
He was born on Jan. 29, 1914 in Fresno, CA. to Jacob and Barbara Deubert. He and his wife moved to the Rogue Valley in 1954.
Alexander worked for Burrill Lumber Company for 25 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nathalene; five children, Gerald of Central Point, Barry "Buzz" of Eagle Point, Gary of Woodburn, OR, Alene Reinhart of Crooked River, OR; Jill Hale of Medford; one sister, Emma Scheidt of Fresno, CA; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers.
He will be loved and missed forever by his family.
Howard R. Hardie
Howard R. Hardie, 86, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 19, 2004) after a short illness. At his request no services are planned.
Mr. Hardie was born on Oct. 5, 1918 in Chicago, IL to Richard and Mary Hardie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Oregon Humane Society, the Jackson County Library, or plant a tree in his memory.
His interest in aviation came from conversations around the dinner table, when as a child they talked of Charles Lindberg and what he was doing from his historic flight. Lindy became his hero from then on, and was the reason he trained as a pilot and received his pilot's license at the age of 18. Mr. Hardie served in the US Navy as a air traffic controller. After an honorable discharge he continued to work as an air traffic controller until 1962. He and his wife Judy, moved to Medford in 1971. He then worked for the City of Medford in the finance dept.
He attended the Humanist Group in Ashland and the Unitarians in Grants Pass.
Mr. Hardie enjoyed aviation, reading, traveling, nature, gardening, feeding the birds, and his pet cat of 17 years.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter from a previous marriage; his second wife, Judy; a sister; two neices; four grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
