June Valerie Dallas
June Valerie Dallas, 44, of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 28, 2003) at Sams Valley Nursing Home. No service is planned.
She was born Aug. 11, 1958, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Bobby and Donna Dallas. She married
Fred Baldonado, who preceded her in death.
Ms. Dallas worked in the food service industry for 22 years. She moved to the Rogue Valley in March 2002 from Phoenix, Ariz.
She enjoyed spending time with her son, Dylan, crocheting and painting.
Survivors include her son, Dylan Baldonado, Medford; and a sister, Laura Nelson, Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Frances Kay Baker
Frances Kay Baker, 62, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born Feb. 11, 1941, in Visalia, Calif., to Surry and Margarete (Whitt) Northington. On Feb. 7, 1960, in Visalia, she married
Frank Leon Baker, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1968.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping and gambling.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Brian, Eagle Point, and Scott, Gold Hill; two brothers, Don Northington, Bellflower, Calif., and Jim Northington, Portland; two sisters, Doris Meyers, White City, and Jodie Lineburger, Visalia; and five grandchildren.

Joyce Louise Jenkins
The memorial service for Joyce Louise Jenkins will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel in Medford. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Hospice will officiate.
Mrs. Jenkins, 66, of Central Point, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at her home.

She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Spokane, to George and Agnes (Howell) Lewis. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Spokane, Wash., and lived here most of her life. She lived in Grants Pass in the early 1950s while attending high school. On Sept. 4, 1971, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, she married
Donald E. Jenkins, who survives.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker. She also worked at Dick’s Market and had an upholstery business in her home for several years.
She was a member of the Medford Eagles Lodge. Mrs. Jenkins enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, James Krous, Central Point; a stepson, Cory Jenkins, Ruch; three daughters, Debria Tiry, White City, Deana Ruppel, West Linn, and Melissa Schell, Central Point; a sister, JoAnne Glaspie, Post Falls; a brother, Dean Lewis, Medford; and eight grandchildren.

Ronald Paul Leaverton
Ronald Paul Leaverton, 60, of Medford, died Feb. 14, 2003, at his home. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.

He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in St. Cloud, Minn. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1998 from Reno, Nev., and had lived here on and off for most of his life.
Mr. Leaverton was a salesman for Skyline Corporation for a number of years and also worked in automobile sales.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Leaverton enjoyed his dog, Jodie.
Survivors include two sons, Sean Ryan, Boise, Idaho, and Kelly, in Germany; a daughter, Priscilla Davis, Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Miranda H. Leaverton, Medford; two sisters, Cheryl Leaverton, White City, and Peggy Foy, Eugene; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Leaverton.

Thomas C. ‘Chris’ Barker
The memorial service for Thomas Christopher "Chris" Barker will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ashland. The Rev. Anne Bartlett will officiate.
Mr. Barker, 83, of Medford, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at his home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Ludwell, England, to Richard and Winifred Barker. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1923 from Canada, and graduated from Medford High School and what is now Southern Oregon University. On April 21, 1946, in Medford, he married
Natalie Wilcox, who survives.
Mr. Barker was a partner in Security Insurance Agency for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
He served in the Medical Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Barker served on the Phoenix-Talent School Board for 14 years, and was chairman for three years. He also served on the vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church, and participated in numerous volunteer activities.
He was a member of the Rogue Valley Medical Center Auxiliary and the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
He enjoyed traveling, gardening, sports and reading poetry.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons: John R., Portland, and Ted R., Springfield; two daughters, Janis E. Barker, Portland, and Maryl L. Barker, Eugene; two brothers, Rev. Peter, Stockton, Calif., and Bill, Jacksonville; a sister, Katherine Barker Wright, Monmouth; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Marie.

Jan E. Sargent
The memorial service for Jan E. Sargent will be at noon Thursday at Rogue Valley Fellowship in Medford. Pastor Dave Booye will officiate.
Mrs. Sargent, 50, of Medford, died Saturday (June 15, 2002) at her home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1952, in Enterprise, to Robert and Minne (Mallon) Culver. She had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1953 and graduated from Prospect High School in 1970. On July 11, 1970, in Medford, she married
Michael C. Sargent, who survives.
Mrs. Sargent owned and operated the Linen Barn, a custom embroidery shop.
She was a member of Rogue Valley Fellowship.
Mrs. Sargent enjoyed crafts, Boyds Bears and dark chocolate.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Greg and Aaron Sargent, and Nick Gilman, all Medford; two daughters, Amanda Sargent and Melanie Baldwin, both Medford; her mother, Minnie Culver, Central Point; a brother, John Culver, Aurora; her grandmother, Clara Lind, Central Point; and one grandson.

Sandra Jean Shearin
The memorial service for Sandra Jean Shearin will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford.
Mrs. Shearin, 75, of Medford, died Sunday (June 16, 2002) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to John and Fannie Sullivan. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1937 from Arkansas. She graduated from Medford High School and attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho. In Medford, she married
Donald Lyle Shearin, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shearin was a homemaker and day-care provider.
She was a member and board member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Association and was director of Caravans Scouting Club.
Mrs. Shearin enjoyed softball and was an accomplished fastpitch softball pitcher.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Jeffries, Medford; two sons, Bill, Medford, and Allen, Portland; three sisters, Velma Woodruff and Ellen James, both Medford, and Shirley Rapp, Elma, Wash.; a brother, John Sullivan, Medford; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Sullivan.

Alicia McGrory Kennedy Struble
The memorial service for Alicia McGrory Kennedy Struble will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Pioneer Hall (across from the store) in Lake Creek.
Mrs. Struble, 76, of Medford, died June 7, 2002, at her home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Airdrie, Scotland. She was educated from kindergarten through the second year of college at Elmwood, a Catholic girls school in Scotland. She then entered Glasgow University, where she was apprenticed to a firm of chartered accountants. She married
an American Air Force officer and raised four children in England, America and Japan. They retired to Monterey, Calif., where they opened an antique shop. She moved to the Rogue Valley 19 years ago from Monterey.
On Jan. 30, 1997, in Gualala, Calif., she married
Wayne Struble, who survives.
In the Rogue Valley, Mrs. Struble was active in the Weavers Guild and was a volunteer at Rogue Gallery for many years.
She was an avid reader and traveler and enjoyed people.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Georgina Kennedy, Eagle Point, and Alicia Kennedy, Boston; a son, Keith Andrews, Millville, Utah; her parents, John and Annie Quigley Kennedy, Coatbridge, Scotland; two brothers, Robert Kennedy, Alexandria, Scotland, and Brian Kennedy, Livingston, Scotland; a sister, Dorothy Ainsworth, Kilmarnock, Scotland; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew; three sisters; and two brothers.

Ruth W. Kevan
Ruth W. Kevan, 75, of Ashland, died Saturday (June 15, 2002) at Skylark Assisted Living in Ashland. No service is planned.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Kevan, Ashland; a daughter, Kathy Hegberg, Basalt, Colo.; two sons, Steve, Eugene, and Bruce, La Grande; and 10 grandchildren.

Carole E. Hobson
Surrounded by her family in her home, Carole E. Hobson passed away Sunday (Sept. 28, 2003), ending a seven month battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Carole was born in Nocatur, Kansas on Dec. 22, 1928, to Victor and Ruth Harmon. When Carole was ten years old, her family moved to Grants Pass where they started a dairy farm. Carole graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1946. She continued her education by taking several college classes throughout her working years. On July 2, 1948, she married
Joseph Vernon Hobson, they later divorced.
Carole was a retired Southern Region Manager for the State of Oregon, Adult & Family Services Division, where she worked from 1973 until her retirement in 1992. While working for the state, she received the Governor's award in recognition of her outstanding achievements as a member of the State of Oregon Management team. Prior to that, Carole was employed in the Grants Pass schools for a number of years, spending time at Highland Elementary and North Junior High. Carole volunteered her time with various organizations, both during her working years and after retirement.
She was a member of the Josephine County Commission on Children & Families; the Citizen's Review Board; and the Council of Governments, Senior Advisory Committee.
Carole enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, baking, and traveling. Her passion was being an advocate for children.
Survivors include sons, Randy and his wife Nancy of Grants Pass, Rod and his wife Heidi of Medford, Rick and his wife Michelle of Medford; daughter, Vicki Summer and her husband Marv of Baker City; a sister Katherine Beck of Eagle, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward A. Rosehill
A memorial service for Edward Alfred Rosehill will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2003, at the Faith Lutheran Church, 8582 Rogue River Hwy, Rogue River. Inurnment will be at Mountain View cemetery, Ashland.
Mr. Rosehill, 86, of Ashland, formerly Rogue River, died Tuesday (September 30, 2003) at the Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.
He was born July 5, 1917 at Trail, British Columbia, Canada, a son of Katie and Henry Rosehill. He was raised in Olds, Alberta, Canada. On October 30, 1940, at Olds, he married
the former Gladys Mae Stern who preceded him in death. On July 3, 1969 at Ashland, OR he married
the former Hazel Middlekauff who survives.
Mr. Rosehill lived in California from 1950 to 1960 where he worked in the building trade. After moving to Ashland in the early 70's he owned and managed the Colonial Motel in Ashland. He later moved to Medford where he operated an apartment complex.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and building.
Surviving in addition to his wife are; his son, Gary Rosehill of Littleton, Colorado; his daughter Pat Meierhoff of Ashland; two step-sons, Ric Middlekauff of Dallas, TX, and Gregg Middlekauff of Twin Falls, ID.; two sisters Wilma Rule of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Alice McKitterick of Olds, Alberta, Canada; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Ellen E. Wade
Ellen Wade, 95, of Medford, died Tuesday (Sept. 30, 2003) at home.
She was born July 31, 1908 in Astoria, OR, where she was raised and graduated from high school.
She married
Elmer F. Wade in Portland, Nov. 28, 1928 where she worked as a legal secretary. They lived in Albany, McMinnville, Klamath Falls, and Eugene before moving to Medford in 1959.
Mrs. Wade enjoyed gardening, feeding wild birds, reading, and was an avid bowler. She began bowling in 1969 and she was presented the Golden Age Award at age 89, by the Medford Women's Bowling Association.
She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Order of the Amaranth, Daughters of the Nile and Social Order of the Beauceants. She was Past Noble Grand of Prosperity Rebekah Lodge No. 104.
Survivors include her daughter, Roberta Nichols of Medford; son, Leander Wade of Phoenix; four grandsons, Ken Nichols of Portland, Steve Nichols of Roseburg, Bob Wade of Mountain Home, ID, and David Wade of Medford; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, Feb. 12, 1966, sister Esther, and brothers Edwin and Elmer.
