Damon J. Miller II
A celebration of life for Damon J. Miller II, DDS, will be held in April at the family home.
Dr. Miller, 61, of Merlin, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) in Prospect.

He was born June 3, 1941, in San Francisco. On Aug. 4, 1968, in Lake Oswego, he married
Kathie Wade, who survives. They moved to Southern Oregon in 1994 from Woodland Hills, Calif.
For the past five years, Dr. Miller worked at Siskiyou Community Health Center, Dental Facility.
He was a member of the Grants Pass Sportsman’s Park.
Dr. Miller enjoyed shooting, hunting and woodworking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his mother, Kay Miller, Redwood City, Calif.; and a sister, Marilyn Scholl, Menlo Park, Calif.

Isaac R. Warlock
Isaac R. Warlock, 70, of Medford, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) in Boise, Idaho. No service is planned.
He was born April 10, 1932, in Mesilla Pueblo, N.M. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1986 from San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Warlock was a retired representative for Lockheed Missile and Space Corp.
He was a Korean War veteran.
Mr. Warlock was an American Indian, a member of the Masons and Elks, a blackbelt karate competitor, and a Christian.

Douglas Stuart Diehl
Douglas Stuart Diehl, 45, of Ashland, died Monday (March 3, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford. A private service will be held.
He was born Oct. 3, 1957, in Oakland, Calif., to Stuart and Carole (Williams) Diehl. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980. He married
Sharon Johnson, who preceded him in death.
He served in the U.A. Army from 1976-79.
Mr. Diehl was a poet and professional musician and guitarist.
He was an avid reader and a practicing Buddhist.
He is survived by a sister, Genna Diehl Berlin, Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hazel L. Smith
The memorial service for Hazel L. Smith will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith, 82, of Medford, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 2093. She was preceded in death by a sister, Annabelle Skeeters.
The lodge number and her sister’s name were incorrect in Tuesday’s obituary.
Lora A. Flury
The graveside service for Lora Aileen Flury will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford.
Mrs. Flury, 67, of White City, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born June 20, 1935, in Paris, Ark., to Claude and Lucille (Bowers) Ming. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1971 from California. In August 1973, in Eagle Point, she married
William Flury, who survives.
Mrs. Flury was a wife and mother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Greg Martin and Tim Flury; and a daughter, Karen Riker; eight brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.

‘JD’ Jonathan Dawn Larson
The memorial service for "JD" Jonathan Dawn Larson will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Prospect Community Hall in Prospect. Pastor Bob Batte of Prospect Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Larson, 28, of Prospect, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) in an auto accident on Butte Falls-Prospect Highway.
He was born July 27, 1974, in Medford. He attended schools in Prospect and lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
Mr. Larson was a logger with Erickson Air Crane helicopter logging and also worked in construction with Express Excavation in Prospect. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping people.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Michael and Cathy Larson, Prospect; his mother and stepfather, Susan and John Ramaly, Ukiah, Calif.; three brothers, Michael Larson, Ukiah, Calif., Christopher Larson, Prospect, and Ben Breiholz, Eagle Point; three sisters, BrandySue Larson, Ukiah, Calif., Rebecca Breiholz, Ashland, and Renee Breiholz, Eagle Point.

Paul F. Simmons
Paul F. Simmons, 92, of White City, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at his home. No service is planned. Interment will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
He was born Dec. 14, 1910, in Coburg, to Earl and Nellie Simmons. He was a direct descendent of William Vaughan, who came to Oregon in 1845 on the Lost Blue Bucket Gold Mining Wagon Train. His grandfather, A. Simmons, came to Oregon in 1847.
On March 14, 1930, in Albany, he married
Francis G. Peters, who survives. He lived most of his life in Coburg and moved to White City in 1977.
Mr. Simmons worked as a painter for Southern Pacific Railroad in Eugene for 34 years. He was a boxer and a motorcycle hill climber in his youth.
He was a sergeant in the Oregon National Guard in the 1920s and ’30s, and served as a lieutenant in the Oregon State Guard in the 1940s.
Mr. Simmons was a member of Eugene Masonic Lodge No. 11. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to Reno.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Dolores (Dody) Ainsworth, Phoenix, Ore.; a brother, Merle, Oakland; a sister, Earlene Handy, Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Isaac ‘Ike’ Warlock
Isaac "Ike" Warlock, 70, of Boise Idaho, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) in Boise. Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.
John Burnette
The memorial service for John Burnette will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Applegate Community Church. Elder Bill Cawein will officiate.
Mr. Burnette, 79, of Applegate, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) in Medford.

He was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Benton, Tenn., to Dorsey and Leila (Swafford) Burnette. In 1952, in Yuma, Ariz., he married
Felicia Beccaris, who died in 2000. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980 from California.
Mr. Burnette worked for GATX in Colton, Calif., repairing railroad tanker cars. He retired in 1980. After moving to Oregon, he worked as an insurance agent for 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Mr. Burnette was a member of Applegate Community Church. He was past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Colton, Calif., past treasurer of the Applegate Lions Club, and past secretary and treasurer of the Applegate Rural Fire Department.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf and bowling, and watching the Dodgers, Lakers and Tennessee Titans.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Rodriguez-Krouse, Grants Pass; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rae Carey and Ann Watson; and a great-granddaughter.

Leona M. ‘Lee’ Sutton
The graveside service for Leona M. "Lee" Sutton will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trail Creek cemetery in Trail.
Mrs. Sutton, 78, of Central Point, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at her home.
She was born May 28, 1924, in Medford, to John and Violet (Haskins) Warner. In October 1946, in Reno, Nev., she married
Johnnie Sutton, who survives.
Mrs. Sutton was a homemaker and lifelong Rogue Valley resident. She enjoyed horses, gardening, camping and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Sherain Millard, Sams Valley, and Sandra Sharpe, Eagle Point; two sons, Roger, Chemult, and Dennis, Beaver Marsh; two sisters, Alice Deupree and Norma Olufsen, both Eagle Point; a brother, Kenneth Warner, Central Point; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Warner.

Paul Blenkush III
The memorial Mass for Paul Blenkush III will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mr. Blenkush, 91, of Eagle point, died Saturday (March 1, 2003) at Hearthstone.
He was born April 29, 1911, in Brockway Township, Stearns County, Minn., to Paul and Mary (Peternell) Blenkush II. He moved to the Rogue Valley 44 years ago from Minnesota. On Jan. 21, 1942, in Corvallis, he married
Hildegard Scheffers, who survives.
Mr. Blenkush was a millwright for Delah Timber in White City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Blenkush was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed welding, fabricating, reading and the outdoors.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Paul and John, both Medford, and Don and Arlen, both Central Point; six daughters, Eileen Herrick, Alice Blenkush, and Doris Parker, all Eagle Point, Georgia Marsh, Phoenix, Talea Whitehead, White City, and Ruth Kayser, Brookings; 26 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph; three brothers and two sisters.

Edwin Lippert
Edwin Lippert, 89, of Medford, died Monday (March 3, 2003) at Rogue Valley Manor in Medford. Arrangements will be announced by Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Grants Pass.
Pearl Kathryn Jacobson
Pearl Kathryn Jacobson, 83, of Ashland, died Monday (March 3, 2003) at a local foster home. Arrangements will be announced by Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.
Victor ‘Vic’ Lloyd
The funeral for Victor "Vic" Lloyd will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Medford.
Mr. Lloyd, 56, of Medford, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 23, 1946, in Portland, to Oliver and Phyllis Lloyd. He attended Portland schools, graduating from David Douglas High School in 1964. He then graduated from a junior college in Spokane, Wash. On Dec. 11, 1976, in Portland, he married
Carol Davis, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Spokane, Wash.
Mr. Lloyd taught industrial arts at several high schools in Spokane, Wash., and was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver.
He was a member of the Medford Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, Operating Engineers Local No. 701 and North West Wildlife Council.
Mr. Lloyd enjoyed his work as a truck driver, artist and craftsman, outdoorsman and chef.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Kevin, Medford, and Steven, U.S. Navy; a daughter, Jennifer Lloyd, in Minnesota; a sister, Berna Kieler, Montecito, Calif.; a brother, James, Kirkland, Wash.; and one grandchild.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Iris Hamp Pray
The memorial service for Iris Hamp Pray will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ashland Christian Fellowship.
Mrs. Pray, 51, of White City, died Sunday (March 2, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born April 10, 1951, in Wendell, Idaho, to Ralph and Zula Hamp. She began school in Filer, Idaho, graduated from eighth grade in Weiser, Idaho, and from Red Bluff High School in Red Bluff, Calif. She received an associate’s degree as a legal aid from Shasta Junior College in Redding, Calif. On Feb. 28, 1978, in Carmel by the Sea, Calif., she married
George Pray, who died in 1998. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1992 from Redding, Calif.
Mrs. Pray was a home health care provider. She enjoyed reading and helping people.
Survivors include a son, William, White City; her parents, Ralph and Zula Hamp, Grace, Idaho; four sisters, Zula Mae Strayer, Colorado Springs, Colo., "Charlie" Hahn and Mary Sherman, both Boise, Idaho; and Rosanne Hamp, Meridian, Idaho; three brothers, Jeff Hamp, Red Bluff, Calif., Ralph Hamp Jr., Salt Lake City; and Ron Allen Hamp, Grace, Idaho; and one grandchild.
