A family graveside service will be held for Evelyn Reynolds, 76, of Ashland, who died Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at the Skylark Extended Care Facility in Ashland. Interment will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland,
She was born Oct. 26, 1926 at Dardenelle, Ark. the daughter of Vinnie and Bernie Atkins. On Dec. 16, 1945 at Centerviller, Ark., she married Don Reynolds who preceded her in death in 1990. She was raised in Arkansas and lived in Lakeview, Ore. and French Town, Mont. before moving to Talent/Medford area in 1987. She worked as a care give for the State of Oregon of several years.
Surviving are: one daughter, Sherry Olson of Phoenix; one son, Howard Reynolds of Reno, Nev.; one sister, Gelia Owens of Sparks, Nev.; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

Candace C. Benton, 88, of Ashland, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003 at the Scenic Hills Foster Care Home in Ashland.

Clarence F "Larry" Quirk
Clarence F "Larry" Quirk, 89, of Ashland, died Feb. 7, 2003 at Linda Vista Care Center. Memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 33 N. Central, Suite 330, Medford, Ore. 97501.
Larry Quirk was born April 14, 1913 in Seattle, Wash., son of Patrick and Isabelle Quirk. On Dec. 1, 1951 in Portland, Ore, he married former Dorothy Anderson, who survives. They lived in the Rogue Valley since 1992 from Sacramento, Calif.
Mr. Quirk served in the US Army as a Technician 5th Grade in the 91st Infantry Division during W.W. II. He was a self employed paralegal and prior to that had worked for Melvin Coben Attorney at Law in Sacramento and Local Loan Company for 25 years, also in Sacramento. Mr. Quirk enjoyed music, entertainment, traveling and had played drums for Russ Brown band in Portland, Ore. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include wife, Dorothy Quirk; and son, Brian Quirk. Preceded in death are his parents; and his brother Russell in 1966.

Dorothy Marie (Morris) Reimers
Dorothy Marie (Morris) Reimers, 77, of Saratoga, Calif., died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 at Los Gatos Community Hospital, Los Gatos, Calif. A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 at Darling-Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos, Calif.
Dorothy Marie (Morris) Reimers was born April 12, 1925 in Ashland to Harry R. Morris and Ruth Emery Morris. She was a descendent of Eber Emery, of the founders of Ashland. Her father and grandfather founded Oak Street Tank and Steel, Ashland's oldest manufacturing business.
She graduated from Ashland High School in 1943 and attended Southern Oregon University.
Her occupations included Engle Insurance, United Airlines, Oak Street Tank and Steel (9 years), office management and homemaker.
On June 24, 1956, she married James L. Reimers at the First Presbyterian Church, Ashland.
She was a member of Zulema Temple, Daughter of Nile Patrol; Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority; Saratoga Country Club, Allied Arts of Stanford. Dorothy's hobbies were tennis, bridge, golf, gardening, lunch with friends and traveling with her husband.

Reimers of Citrus Heights, Calif. and Diane P. Reimers of San Jose, Calif.; son, James S. Reimers of Saratoga, Calif.; and grandchild, Shayla M. Tirk, Citrus Heights, Calif.
Anthony D. Gregoire
Anthony D. Gregoire, 71, of Ashland, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at the Ashland Community Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.
Alan Joseph Karle
Alan Joseph Karle, 46, of Phoenix, passed away. A private internment will be held in Detroit, Mich.
Alan Joseph Karle was born Feb. 22, 1956 in Detroit, Mich. to Mary Jane Karle of Florida. He lived his last four years in Medford.
Survivors include sister, Elaine of Detroit, Mich. He was preceded in death by his father, Al Karle.
Lucille Elizabeth Combest
Lucille Elizabeth Combest, 88, of Elgin, Ill, formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at her daughter's home in Elgin.
Lucille was born Oct. 6, 1914 in Whitewater, Wisc. to Thomas W. Elizabeth M. (nee Greiten) McKelvey.
She graduated from Maple Park High School in 1933. After high school, she was employed as an auditor for the state of Illinois and the Kane County Treasurer's Office in Geneva, Ill. From 1940 to 1943, she was the postmaster in Maple Park. She then worked for Cutler-Hammer and Midwest Co-op Wholesale in Milwaukee, Wisc.
She returned to Illinois after marrying James L. Combest, where she raised her family and returned to work in 1959 for David A. Noyes and Co. in Elgin.
She became a registered representative of the New York Stock Exchange in 1962. Lucille was active in many organizations during her time in Elgin, including, Cosmo Pals, National Secretaries Association, Altrusa International, Elgin Symphony League, Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts. She retired after 25 years with David A. Noyes to Ashland.
Lucille became active in Ashland in volunteer and recreational programs. The Ashland Emergency Food Bank, Interfaith Care Community of Ashland, Tudor Guild of Southern Oregon, Shakespearean Festival, Rogue Valley Symphony Guild, Rogue Valley Jazz Preservation Club, Oak Knoll Women's Golf Club, "Autumn" Women, Book Club "Extraordinaire", as well as involvement in local theatre, music, reading, travel, friends and family.
She was also an active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Ashland.
She is survived by four daughters, Wendy (Ron) Palmer, Sherry DeRaedt, Kathy Dow and Maureen Combest; three sons, Michael, Kevin and Chad (Camille) Combest; eight grandchildren, Devin and Derek (Christina) DeRaedt, Michelle (Jack) Giuffre, Danielle Palmer, Carna Combest, Chris and Shaun Dow, and Clayton Combest; five great grandchildren, Tyler DeRaedt, Ashley Stewart, Haley and Alex DeRaedt and Chase Carlino; four nephews, Thomas, Bruce, Gary and Neal Dahl; sister-in-law, Dorothy Foote of Chattanooga, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward McKelvey; sister, Irene Dahl; a son, Shaun Combest in infancy; and former husband, James L. Combest.
Memorial tributes in Lucille's name may be made to the Lowrie Elementary School Playground Equipment Fund in Elgin or to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 717 Siskiyou Ave., Ashland, Ore. 97520.
