Esther A. McUne
A memorial service for Esther A. McUne will be at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17, 2003, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 E. McAndrews Road, Medford.
Mrs. McUne, 95, of Jacksonville, died Friday (July 25, 2003) at Farmington Square, Medford. Rev. Kevin Gowland of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1907, in Newton, Kansas, a daughter of Jonas and Mary Eby.
She attended public schools in Miami, Fla. before moving west to attend Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID.
In 1937 in Burns, Or. she married
George McUne, who preceded her in death. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1943 from Burns.
Mrs. McUne was a homemaker and worked in retail. She and her husband founded and operated the Pioneer Village in Jacksonville for 25 years. Pioneer Village was a Southern Oregon historical attraction well known for its vast collection of pioneer buildings, artifacts, wagons, Melodrama theater and restaurant. She managed the store until the business closed in 1985.
Survivors include: a daughter, Ellen, of Los Alamitos, Calif.; three sons, George H., of Medford, Roger, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Ron, of Medford; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

George A. Martin
The memorial service for George A. Martin will be held Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at 3 p.m. at the Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mr. Martin died July 25, 2003 at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1920 in Decatur, Ill.
He served in the U.S. Marines during WW II.
On June 2, 1945 in St. Louis Mo. he married
his wife Connie.
They moved to the Rogue Valley 15 years ago.
Mr. Martin was a truck driver for Budweiser Beer Distributors.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of Medford; a daughter, Patricia Martin, Flagstaff, AZ; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Glenn Donald Unger
Glenn Donald Unger, 81, of Medford, died July 31, at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wed., Aug. 6, at Seventh Day Advent Church, 1900 Greenwood Street, Medford. Pastor Dan McCullock will officiate.
He was born Aug. 19, 1921 in Post Falls, Idaho, to Andrew L. Unger and Annie Mae Unger.
Mr. Unger went to school in Washington and Oregon. He joined the Coast Guard in 1939.
On March 19, 1942, he married
Helen Annabell Bradley who survives.
They have 3 daughters; Donna Mae, Shirley Ann, and JoAnn. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, plus two on the way; 1 great-great-grand child, and 1 on the way. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, and 1 sister, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild. He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life with his only wife of 61 years.

Doris June Brown
Doris June Brown, 84, of Jacksonville, died Monday (March 10, 2003) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. A private memorial service will be held Saturday.

Dawn Elizabeth Glick
The graveside service for Dawn Elizabeth Glick will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Scenic Hills Memorial Park in Ashland. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ashland Christian Fellowship. Pastor Steve Bright will officiate.
Mrs. Glick, 28, of Medford, died Monday (March 10, 2003) in Medford.
She was born Dawn Butz on June 4, 1974, in Glendale, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley when she was 17.
Mrs. Glick enjoyed spending time with her children, art and modeling clothes.
Survivors include a daughter, Brianna Glick, Medford; a son, Caden, Medford; her mother and stepfather Cynthia and Steve Dotson, Sunland, Calif.; a sister, Jennifer Butz, Glendale, Calif.; and a brother, Lyle Eric Butz, Lakeview Terrace, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father, L. Rex Butz.

Helen E. (Macy) Pelton
The funeral for Helen E. (Macy) Pelton will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford. Interment will be on Monday, beside her husband, at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pelton, 95, of Yerington, Nev., formerly of Phoenix, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) in Yerington, Nev., following a short illness.
She was born July 7, 1907 in Kanarado, Colo., to Russell Lowell and Leota Pearl (Scott) Macy. When she was 6, her family moved to Modesto, Calif., where she completed her education. She attended and taught at the Modesto Conservatory of Music, and bought her first baby grand piano with her earnings. She was an accomplished pianist and taught many to play. The family moved to Fallon, Nev., where her father established a creamery in 1925. On March 28, 1928, in Fallon, Nev., she married
Philip Gordon Pelton, who died in 1979. They settled on his homestead and dairy farm. After 36 years, they moved to Klamath Falls, and after retirement in 1967, settled in Phoenix.
Mrs. Pelton served as a church pianist and organist and taught piano lessons until her retirement in 1999 at age 91.
She was a longtime member of the historic Phoenix Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Pelton enjoyed doing charitable service, and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include a daughter, Gayle, Fallon, Nev., three sons, James Allen, Phoenix, Garth Philip, Gresham, and Richard Eugene, Chiloquin; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Scott Macy.

Ruth L. Mickelson
The memorial service for Ruth L. Mickelson will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Medford. Dr. William McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in Union cemetery, Mooers Forks, N.Y.
Mrs. Mickelson, 77, of Medford, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) in Medford.

She was born July 15, 1925, in Mooers Forks, N.Y., to Lynn and Gertrude Alford. She graduated from Champlain School of Nursing in Plattsburg, N.Y., and received a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from what is now Southern Oregon University in Ashland. On Jan. 13, 1949, in Mooers Forks, N.Y., she married
John Leonard Mickelson, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mickelson worked as a physician’s assistant and as a neurological registered nurse.
She was a rosarian and a Rose Society show judge.
Mrs. Mickelson enjoyed photography, knitting and crafting.
Survivors include four daughters, Sara Mickelson, Issaquah, Wash., Sherry Mickelson, New York City, JoAnn Brehm, Richland, Wash., and Judy Mickelson, Santa Barbara, Calif.; a son, Gary, New York City; and one grandchild.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
Teresa Ann Gerrard
The memorial service for Teresa Ann Gerrard will be held at a later date.
Ms. Gerrard, 41, of Ashland, died March 7, 2003, in Ashland.

She was born Jan. 29, 1962, in Medford, to Robert and Joanne Wickman. She lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.
Ms. Gerrard trained and showed horses competitively.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and her pets.
Survivors include two daughters, Christina K. Carter, Medford, and Jolene L. Carter, Ashland; her parents, Robert and Joanne Wickman, Medford; two brothers, Mark Wickman, Medford, and Maury Wickman, Portland.

Sarada Ann Jones
The funeral for Sarada Ann Jones will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Center, Ashland.
Mrs. Jones, 49, of Ashland, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at her home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1954, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Deloise and William Kochevar. In 1959, her family moved to Fremont, Calif., where she graduated from Washington High School in 1972. She received a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from California State University, Fresno. In 1993, she married
Gregory Rees Jones, who survives.
Mrs. Jones lived in Santa Barbara, Calif., and later Livermore, Calif., where she worked as a therapist at Alta Bates Hospital. She moved to Ashland in 1983. Locally, she worked with Dr. James Dunn in Ashland, Providence Hospital Home Health, Asante Home Health and in private practice.
She enjoyed bicycling and kayaking.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Sean Covell Roberts, Ashland; a daughter Risa Michelle Roberts, Olympia, Wash.; and her twin sister, Deloise Elizabeth (Kochevar) Tritt, Fresno, Calif.

Matthew Joseph Myers
The memorial service for Matthew Joseph Myers will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Valley Bible Fellowship in Talent. Robert Huntoon will officiate.
Mr. Myers, 38, of Medford, died Monday (March 10, 2003) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born July 15, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, to Joseph A. and Jean (Faller) Myers. He moved to Medford five years ago from California.
Mr. Myers was a home builder. He also worked for Bear Creek Corp., and for Loram Railroad in Medford and Minnesota.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his companion, Erica Friend, Medford; two sons, Lucas and Harlow, both in California; his father, Joseph A. Myers, Talent; two sisters, Kathleen and Kelly Myers, both in Hawaii; and a brother, Michael, Medford. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Faller Myers.

Bernadine C. Wynnyk
The memorial service for Bernadine C. Wynnyk will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Temple. Pastors Bob Gass and Dusty Brian will officiate.
Mrs. Wynnyk, 76, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at Three Fountains Waterford Health Care Center.

She was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Yakima, Wash., to Jay H. and Alice Shepard.
Mrs. Wynnyk was an assistant bank manager for San Juan County Bank (now Key Bank) in East Sound, Wash. She moved to the Rogue Valley in September 2002 from Kellowna, British Columbia, Canada.
She enjoyed painting, sewing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughters, Sandra "Jody" Hardin, Eagle Point; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Rathburn; a granddaughter, Michele Rathburn; one brother and two sisters.

Mary Katherine Vaughn
A private service will be held for Mary Katherine Vaughn. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Mrs. Vaughn, 84, of Medford, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at her home.

She was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Fairfax, Mo. In June 1947, in California, she married
John F. Vaughn, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Vaughn was a former beauty pageant winner in San Diego County, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1952 from San Diego. She worked as a hairdresser for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of the Traditional Jazz Society of Medford and a volunteer for Jazz Jubilee.
Mrs. Vaughn enjoyed reading, gardening and music.
Survivors include a son, John Scott, Medford; a sister, Ila Tazelaar, San Diego; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Franklin.
