Barbara Jean Ivie
Barbara Jean Ivie, 72, of Grants Pass, died Friday (April 4, 2003) at her home. A private service will be held.

She was born April 26, 1930, in Long Beach, Calif. Her family moved to Grants Pass in 1946. On June 4, 1948, in Grants Pass, she married
Delbert Ivie, who died in 2002.
The Ivies owned and operated Del’s Electrical for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Ivie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the PTA and 4-H.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and doing things for family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth, Grand Junction, Colo.; a daughter, Susan Collins, Central Point; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Martt.

Delma Evelyn Peters
A graveside service for Delma Evelyn Peters will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Friends may pay their respects at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Peters, 89, of Medford, died Thursday (April 3, 2003) at Northridge Center in Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Christian college scholarship fund.
She was born Oct. 2, 1913, in Sterling, Colo., to Roy and Helena Dunham. She was reared in Colorado and graduated from high school in 1932.
On Jan 5, 1933, in Sydney, Neb., she married
Arthur E. Peters, who died in 1979. In 1939, the Peterses moved to Ashland, where she operated a children’s day care center at her home. She served as the president of the Briscoe Elementary School Parent Teacher Association.
She was a member of Ashland First Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and served in the Women’s Missionary Fellowship.
Survivors include a son, Ernest, Grants Pass; four daughters, Roanna Beagle, Ashland, Bonnie Morgan, Phoenix, Carol Holsapple, Myrtle Creek, and Phyllis Franck, White City; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Margaret Kelty Wishart
No public services are planned for Margaret Kelty Wishart, 87, of Eagle Point, who died Friday (April 4, 2003) at Vine’s Foster Home in Central Point.
Interment will be in Waverly Memorial cemetery in Albany.

Mrs. Wishart was born Dec. 9, 1915, to Chester and Celia Davis Kelty in Louisville, Ohio. The family moved to Albany in 1929, and she attended Albany High School. In 1933, in Albany, she married
Leonard Horning, who died in 1960. They moved to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, during World War II.
In 1945, they moved to Klamath Falls, where they were caretakers at Gerber Dam (Langell Valley) near Klamath Falls.
Mrs. Wishart was a member of the Klamath Falls Eagles Lodge and was employed by Sears in Klamath Falls for 16 years.
In 1963, she married
Carl James Wishart. After his death in 1989, she moved to Eagle Point.
She enjoyed crafts, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include a brother, Tom Kelty, La Pine; and a sister, Edna Tucker, Port Townsend, Wash. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Kelty.

Helen Rebecca Ferguson
The funeral for Helen Rebecca Ferguson will be at 10 a.m. today at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ferguson, 85, of Gold Hill, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at her home.

She was born May 15, 1917, in Polson, Mont., to Isaac and Helen (Davis) Hedrick. She attended Polson Elementary, Polson High School and Rogue Community College. On Dec. 14, 1957, in Reno, Nev., she married
Martin L. Ferguson, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ferguson worked as a caregiver/nurse. During World War II, she worked at Boeing, taxiing aircraft for the military. She also worked for the weather bureau in Seattle. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1969 from Oxnard, Calif.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and did the church books for many years until 1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Tace Ferguson, Gold Hill; two sisters, Inez Deming, Bend, and Thelma Eng, Seattle; two brothers, Myhre Hedrick, Polson, Mont., and Ross Hedrick, Bothell, Wash. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore, Raymond and Milton Foster Hedrick.

Mildred Edwards
The memorial service for Mildred Edwards will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Conger-Morris Medford Chapel. Peter Wise of White City will officiate.
Mrs. Edwards, 76, of Medford, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.

She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Riddle, to Clarence and Oveda (Beck) Mellor. In 1946, in Reno, Nev. she married
Eugene F. "Henry" Edwards, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Coos Bay.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Roxie Lee Stinson, White City, and Terri Cohen, Newport Beach, Calif.; two sons, Gary, Fairfax, Va., and Michael, Portland; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Inez M. Norman
The memorial service for Inez M. Norman will be at noon Saturday at Clay Street Community Church in Ashland.
Mrs. Norman, 98, of Talent, died March 19, 2003, at her home.

Helen Ann (Fulton) Chapman
The funeral for Helen Ann (Fulton) Chapman will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Conger-Morris Medford Chapel. Pastor Jeff Hurtt of Shady Cove Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mrs. Chapman, 91, of Medford, died Tuesday (April 1, 2003) in Salem.

She was born Aug. 16, 1911, in Haynes Slough, Coos County, to Herbert Bailey and Estella "Docia" (Morgan) Fulton. She attended schools in the North Bend/Coos Bay area. On Sept. 6, 1930, at Kentuck Inlet, North Bend, she married
Frank S. Chapman, who died in 1988. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1952 from the Cottage Grove area.
Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker.
She joined the Rebekah Lodge in 1949 and was an active member on the local and state levels throughout her life. She was recently awarded her life membership from Olive Rebekah Lodge No. 28 in Medford, where she had been a member since 1952. She was involved in their auxiliary organizations, the Beehive Club and the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant for many years. While staying with her granddaughter in Salem, she attended and became an associate member of Salem Rebekah Lodge No. 1.
Mrs. Chapman volunteered for many years with the ladies group at the First Christian Church in Medford, and later joined the Rogue Valley Christian Church. She also attended the Senior Bible Study Group at Westgate Assembly of God in Salem.
She enjoyed travel and in 1991 went to Dublin to meet her pen pal and see where her ancestors were from in Ireland and Scotland. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and needlework.
Survivors include two sons, Richard, Medford, and Ray, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Eunice Roberts, Prospect; a sister, Grace Sargent, Coos Bay; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Clarence William Parker
The graveside service for Clarence William Parker will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National cemetery. Pastor Damon McCoy of the First Baptist Church in Central Point will officiate.
Mr. Parker, 96, of Medford, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003), at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 25, 1906, in Sherman, Texas. On June 14, 1930, in Tulsa, Okla., he married
Mary E. Brown, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1982 from Cave Junction.
Mr. Parker was a bricklayer.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and was awarded a Bronze Star.
Mr. Parker was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the First Baptist Church of Central Point.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a sister, Dolores Gilbert, Citrus Heights, Calif. He was preceded in death by four brothers; and three sisters.

Sharon (Ponder) Griffin
Sharon (Ponder) Griffin, 57, of Wilsonville, formerly of Eagle Point, died March 28, 2003, in Portland. No service is planned.

She was born Jan. 4, 1946, in Hayward, Calif. She was raised in Nevada and graduated from Sparks High School in 1964.
Mrs. Griffin moved to Medford in 1979 and worked for Budge-McHugh Supply Co., followed by SAIF Corp. She retired in 2001 from the Medford Water Commission.
In 1983, she became a member of the Crater Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, where she served as president and was voted Woman of the Year.
Survivors include her husband, Kim Griffin; a daughter, Windie (Teixeira) Summers; a son, Richard B. Teixeira; her parents, Bill and Mary Ponder; two sisters, Charlotte Wright and Tommie Jean Ponder; and two granddaughters.

David Lee Kennedy
David Lee Kennedy, 60, of Tehachapi, Calif., formerly of Cave Junction, died March 23, 2003. No service is planned.
He was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Mecca, Calif., to Milton and Marion Kennedy. He married
Susan McCourt, who survives. He lived in Cave Junction before moving to Tehachapi, Calif., in 1995.
Mr. Kennedy served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years. He was vice president of a bank in Oregon for 10 years, and was a correctional officer in Tehachapi, Calif., for 10 years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Sean Galli, Oakland, Calif., and Matthew Galli, in Oregon; three daughters, Ginger Howard, in Oregon, Tina Kennedy, Las Vegas, and Jennifer Lindblom, Susanville, Calif.; four brothers, Michael, in Oregon, Dennis, Sacramento, Calif., Herb, Redding, Calif., and Richard, Gold Hill; two sisters, Maureen Clayton and Kathleen Fields, both in Oregon; and 10 grandchildren.

Geertruida ‘Trudi’ Kruiswyk
Geertruida "Trudi" K. Kruiswyk, 87, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (April 1, 2003) at her home. A private service will be held.

She was born May 12, 1915, in Barneveld, Netherlands. On Oct. 6, 1939, in Hilversum, Netherlands, she married
Willem "Bill" Kruiswyk, who survives. She emigrated to Australia with her husband and family in 1949. They moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1963, where they lived until 1975, when they moved to Grants Pass.
Mrs. Kruiswyk was a member of the Rogue Valley Weavers Guild.
She enjoyed gardening and weaving.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Erik, Grants Pass; three daughters, Marjolyn Kirkman, Pleasant Grove, Utah, Larsja Peterson, Kennebunkport, Maine, and Kristi Skidmore, Clayton, Calif.; a sister, Kunera Geertruida Bergmann, Netherlands; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
