William James Koepke
The graveside service for William James Koepke will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National cemetery. The Rev. Bernard Andrews will officiate.
Mr. Koepke, 89, of Medford, died Friday (April 11, 2003) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford.

Loy N. Towse
The graveside service for Loy N. Towse will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodville cemetery in Rogue River. Jack Zieser will officiate.
Mr. Towse, 64, of Rogue River, died Saturday (April 12, 2003) at his home.
He was born May 3, 1938, in Ventura, Calif., to Harold and Ellen Towse. He was raised on East Evans Creek Road in Rogue River. He attended Rogue River schools and graduated from Rogue River High School in 1956. On Oct. 12, 1991, on Fielder Mountain in Rogue River, he married
Ann Marie Rutledge, who survives.
Mr. Towse worked for DeArmond Brothers Mill and then Beaver Electric for more than 15 years. He then began working as a self-employed contractor in the Rogue River area.
He belonged to the Boy Scouts in his younger years, and the Rogue River High School Booster Club.
Mr. Towse was known for his stories. He also played the piano, guitar and harmonica, all by ear. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time at a favorite cabin on the Illinois River.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Loy Towse Jr., La Center, Wash., Daryn Towse, Roseburg, and Verne Hanks, Haywood, Calif.; two daughters, Brenda Mortinson, Roseburg, and Debbie Hanks-Standring, Moraga, Calif.; his mother, Ellen Towse, Rogue River; a sister, Myrna Tirrill, Rogue River; and 10 grandchildren.

Harry Robert Frey
The funeral for Harry Robert Frey will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mr. Frey, 80, of Medford, died Sunday (April 13, 2003) in Medford.

He was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Lake Creek, to Frederick and Flora (Edler) Frey, a pioneer family from Germany. He attended Lake Creek Elementary through the eighth grade, and graduated from Eagle Point High School. On Jan. 11, 1955, in Grants Pass, he married
Mae M. Gober, who died in 1995. He was a lifelong Rogue Valley resident.
Mr. Frey was an aeronautical engineer, working for North American Airplane factory prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the logging industry and then returned to the aircraft industry for a brief time. He later worked as a scaler for Boise Casade.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Frey was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper and gardener. He enjoyed teaching these skills to others, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindie Rathbone, Lakeview; a stepdaughter, Jean Riggins, White City; a sister, Helen Barrow, Eagle Point; a stepsister, Margie Warrick, Medford; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Conger-Morris Funeral Home in Medford.
Robin Sue Henagin
The memorial service for Robin Sue Henagin will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Christian Church in Medford. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mrs. Henagin, 48, of Medford, died Friday (April 11, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She had suffered for several years with symptoms of more than one disease.

She was born May 10, 1954, in Martinez, Calif., to James and Naomi Roby. She was very involved in singing from an early age. She sang with the Abundant Life Singers at Berean Christian High School in Walnut Creek, Calif., where she graduated in 1972.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988. On July 8, 1988, she married
Keith Gregory Henagin, who survives.
Mrs. Henagin’s work in the Rogue Valley included time with Attaway, a local trucking company.
She attended Cornerstone Christian Church.
Mrs. Henagin enjoyed life.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Jeffrey and Daniel, both White City; a daughter, Angel, Medford; her parents, Medford; a sister, Ellen Marie Bell, Bay Point, Calif.; and a brother, Gary Alan Roby, Medford.

‘Maggie’ Kelley May
A celebration of the life of Margaret "Maggie" Marie Kelley May will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Wolf Creek Park.
Ms. May, 46, of Wolf Creek, died Sunday (April 13, 2003) as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wolf Creek Civic Center, 120 Park Ave., Wolf Creek, OR 97497.
She was born Jan. 20, 1957, in Grants Pass. She attended Grants Pass High School.
Ms. May was a member of the Hooligan Ladies Auxiliary and the Egg Committee, both in Wolf Creek.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, her dog, Little Girl, organizing community events for children and the outdoors.
Survivors include twin daughters, Doris Atherton and Angela Fricke, both Grants Pass; a son, Jason Benoit, Wolf Creek; her mother, Joyce Larsen, Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Linda Eirls, Reno, Nev., and Ruth Saylor, Grants Pass; two brothers, Richard Kelley, Grants Pass, and Kenneth Kelley Jr., Huntsville, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

Mary ‘Becky’ Arbuckle
Mary Rebecca "Becky" Arbuckle, 81, of Yreka, Calif., formerly of Medford, died Friday (April 11, 2003) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned at this time.

She was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Sacred Heart Hospital in Medford (now Providence Medford Medical Center), to John Joseph Sr. and Tessa Mae (Reynolds) O’Connor. She was raised on a farm near the Beebe farm in Central Point. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Medford in 1940. She lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life and moved to Yreka, Calif., 20 years ago.
Ms. Arbuckle was a chef at Rogue Riviera in Rogue River, the Highway Club, K & D’s and the Grotto in Medford. She also worked at Grandma’s House in Yreka, Calif.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Yreka, Calif.
Ms. Arbuckle enjoyed baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves, playing Yahtzee and cards, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Dona McNees, Medford; a son, Robert D., Yreka, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Marjorie Ann Simonsen
The memorial service for Marjorie Ann Simonsen will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Medford Southwest Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Don Farnsworth will officiate.
Mrs. Simonsen, 69, of Medford, died Monday (April 14, 2003) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 20, 1933, in Merrill, Iowa, to Hans and Gretchen (Carstensen) Simonsen. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1957 from Iowa.
Miss Simonsen was a teacher. She taught at Medford middle schools and South Medford High School. She was a health and physical education teacher and coached swimming. She retired in the early 1990s.
She was a founding member of the Ashland Ski Patrol and was a lifetime member. She also volunteered with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department handicapped parking patrol for many years.
Survivors include a brother, Russ Simonsen, Rock Valley, Iowa. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Sallee; and a brother, Eldon Simonsen.

Mae Bollinger
The funeral service for Mae Bollinger will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Tabernacle in Ashland. Interment will follow at Mountain View cemetery, Ashland. Pastor Curt Wine will officiate.
Mrs. Bollinger, 86, of Talent, died Thursday (April 3, 2003) at her home.

She was born July 23, 1916, in Fairfax, S.D., to Anna and Orlando Delaney. On Dec. 26, 1935, in Butte, Neb., she married
Henry C. Bollinger, who died in 1984.
Mrs. Bollinger moved to Ashland in 1939 from Fairfax, S.D., and worked in the specialty division of Harry and David Corp. for 35 years.
She was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Ashland.
Mrs. Bollinger enjoyed bowling and working in her garden.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Atchley, Ashland, Pauline Cimfl, Medford, and Bonnie Weber, Craig, Colo.; two sisters, Vida Beam, Merriman, Neb., and Dilas Hamilton, Spencer, Neb.; 22 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dean; five brothers and two sisters.

Melva Mae Amundson
The memorial service for Melva Mae Amundson will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Medford. Pastor William Leaman will officiate.
Ms. Amundson, 54, of Talent, died April 2, 2003, at her home.

She was born April 30, 1948, in Los Angeles, and was raised in California. Her first husband and the father of her children was Fred Short III. They later divorced. She then married
David Amundson. They divorced after 20 years.
Ms. Amundson moved to Talent in 1993 and began working at Bear Creek Corp. in 1995.
She enjoyed Oregon, spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, gardening and planting flowers.
Survivors include her companion, Jerry Price, Talent; two sons, Fred Short IV, Medford, and Derek Amundson, Victorville, Calif.; two daughters, JoAnna Short, Medford, and Shawna Short, Arcadia, Calif.; her mother, Mary Amundson, Arcadia, Calif.; a brother, Peter Amundson, Arcadia, Calif.; a sister, Linda LeBlanc, West Covina, Calif.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and her former husbands, Fred Short III, Los Angeles, and David Amundson, Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Amundson; a twin brother, Melvin; and her grandparents, Edith and Peter Amundson.

Earl Paul Weiss
The memorial service for Earl Paul Weiss will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles.
Mr. Weiss, 71, of Calabasas, Calif., part-time Rogue Valley resident, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at his son’s home in Grants Pass.

He was born March 16, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Arthur and Anna Weiss. He graduated from UCLA in 1955. On June 26 1954, in Sherman Oaks, Calif., he married
Barbara Karlin, who survives.
Mr. Weiss lived in Calabasas, Calif., for 52 years and was a certified public accountant for Lincoln Place Apartments for 41 years. He spent many months of the year in the Rogue Valley.
He was a member of the UCLA Foundation, B’nai B’rith-District 4, where he served as past president, the Certified Public Accountants Society, and the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Venice, Calif.
Mr. Weiss enjoyed spending time with family, working crossword puzzles, traveling and attending UCLA sporting events.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of Calabasas, Calif., include a son Jeff, Grants Pass; two daughters, Geri Reisinger, Calabasas, Calif., and Sheryl Weiss, Woodland Hills, Calif.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Milone.

Donald Lloyd Branson
The graveside service for Donald Lloyd Branson will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National cemetery.
Mr. Branson, 42, of Central Point, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at his home.
He was born Jan. 7, 1961, in Landstuhl, Germany.
Mr. Branson retired from the U.S. Navy. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1977 from Florida.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his companion, Lane Sewall, Central Point; a son, Matthew, Talent; a daughter, Jessica Branson, Talent; his parents, Vernon and Elaine (Russell) Branson, Central Point; two brothers, Kevin and Daniel, both Central Point; two sisters, Debra Whitley, Medford, and Kristy Branson, Vancouver, Wash.; his grandmothers, Alpha Branson, Central Point, and Delores Russell, Auburn, Wash.; and one granddaughter.

Marie S. Randahl
The graveside service for Marie S. Randahl will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Hillside Garden at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. Pastor Jim Berglund of Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Randahl, 91, of Central Point, died Monday (April 7, 2003) at her home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1911, in Ola, Ark., to William Shore and Ida Bell (Inman) Belcher. On March 25, 1935, in Huntington Park, Calif., she married
Kenneth G. Randahl, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Randahl moved to Ashland in 1948 from Los Angeles and opened Marie’s Coffee Shop. In 1952, she moved to Talent, where she owned and operated the Chuck Wagon and Marie’s Cafe'. She lived in San Jose, Calif., from 1962 to 1974, when she returned to Central Point. She was also a homemaker and owned a ranch on Yank Gulch in Talent.
She was a member of the Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church, which she was instrumental in helping to build.
Survivors include two sons, Kent, Central Point, and Keith D., Medford; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Belcher and George Washington Belcher.
