Hollinberger
Joe Hollinberger, 92, of Woodburn died Feb. 23 in Woodburn.
Born April 7, 1907, in Clyde, N.D., he farmed near Rock Lake, N.D., in 1932. He lived in Corvallis before moving to Woodburn in 1994.
His interests included fishing, traveling and dancing.
He married
Edna Hall Sept. 24, 1932; she died in 1999.
Survivors include his daughter, Lois Michelson of Woodburn; sisters, Mabel Murdell and Opal Knutson, both of Seattle; brother, Elmer Hollinberger of Yakima, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date in Rock Lake. Interment was in IOOF cemetery in Rock Lake.

Gaeckle
Olga Gaeckle, 95, of Woodburn, died Feb. 12.
Born Feb. 20, 1904, in Kulm, N.D., she attended Valley City State College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in Kulm, Ashley, Rolla and Devils Lake, N.D. After retiring, she moved to Vallejo, Calif., then San Francisco where she worked for the American Lung Association. She moved to Woodburn in 1974. She was a member of the Congressional Church, Kulm; attended Westminster Presbyterian Church of Devils Lake and First Presbyterian Church of Woodburn.
Her interests included traveling.
Survivors include several nephews including Don Swenson of Devils Lake, N.D., Karl Swenson of Houston, Texas and Charles Gaeckle of Sioux Falls, S.D.
At her request, no services will be held.
Arrangements were by Gilbertson Funeral Home, North Dakota.
Wavra
John T. Wavra, 84, of King City died Feb. 20.
Born March 13, 1915, in Pease, Minn., he lived in Mount Angel and Imperial Valley before moving to Gervais in 1956. He was foreman of a welding crew, building Liberty Ships in San Diego. He also farmed in Mount Angel and Gervais. He was a recipient of many agricultural awards including Soil Conservationist of the Year. His memberships include the 10 Ton Strawberry Club, OSU's Pioneer Agriculture Club, Woodburn Elks and Knights of Columbus. He served on numerous political boards and committees.
He was a member of the St. Luke's Catholic Church, Woodburn.
His interests included gardening and recreational vehicles.
He married
Barbara Bostwick Dec. 26, 1938; she died in 1997.
Survivors include his son, Gordon Wavra of Monmouth; daughters, Carol Stowell of Gervais, Diane Swint of Grants Pass, and Linda Cox and Grace Martin of Loveland; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass was celebrated Feb. 26 in St. Mary's Church, Mount Angel. Interment was in St. Luke's cemetery, Woodburn.
Arrangements were by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.

Bermea
Anastacio M. Bermea, 74, of Salem, formerly of St. Paul, died Aug. 12.
Born April 15, 1926, in Dobrowolsi, Texas, he lived in Charlotte, Texas before moving to St. Paul in 1970. He worked as a farmer until retiring and moving to Salem about six months ago. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
His interests included baseball and basketball.
He married
Julia M. Flores Aug. 15, 1951, in Jordan, Texas, she died in 1996.
Survivors include his sons, Mario and Eusebio Bermea, both of Salem; daughters, Jane Bermea of Woodburn and Legicia Anaya of Salem; brothers, Roman Bermea, Marcelo Bermea, Jose Maria Bermea and Juan Berma; sisters, Jesusa Cantu, Dominga Bermea, Ulalia (Foya) Rodriguez, Isabel Calvillo and Carlota Garcia; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mass was celebrated Aug. 15 in St. Luke's Catholic Church, Woodburn. Interment was in St. Paul Catholic cemetery, St. Paul.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.
Rardin
Jack R. Rardin, 90, of Woodburn died Aug. 9.
Born May 22, 1910, in Compton, Calif., he served in the U.S. Navy and worked for the government.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle of Woodburn; one daughter; and two grandchildren.
Private services were held in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
Arrangements were by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Burns
Frank N. Burns, 87, of Woodburn died Feb. 24 in Tualatin.
Born July 22, 1913, in Clovis, N.M., he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a field underwriter for New York Life insurance for 23 years. He lived in Longmont, Colo., for 47 years before moving to Woodburn in 1990. He was a member of Elks Lodge, American Legion, Masons, Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church. He was past president of Longmont Lions Club and former member of the men's chorus at the Woodburn Senior Estates.
His interests included golfing.
He married
Virginia Jones Sept. 10, 1938 in Las Vegas, N.M.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Diane Manning of Vancouver, Wash., and Kathie Moran of Portland; sister, Eleanor Roark of Las Cruces, N.M.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. March 1 in the United Methodist Church, Woodburn. Private interment will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Portland.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.

Lundy
Lauretta E. Lundy, 93, of Corvallis, formerly of Woodburn, died Feb. 19.
Born Nov. 26, 1907, in Chicago, she was an educational secretary for 55 years, holding positions such as public stenographer in Colorado Springs, civil service secretary for NORAD and executive secretary for President Dan Norton of Nestle. She lived in South Haven, Mich., Rockford, Ill., and Steamboat Springs, Colo., before moving to Woodburn. She volunteered for the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, the blood bank and for the Church of the Nazarene.
Her interests included bridge.
She married
Arthur Emory Lundy Jan. 31, 1938; he died in 1968.
Survivors include her son, William E. Lundy of Bend; daughter, Susan Kingsley of Corvallis; brother, Charles Hallock of Kissimmee, Fla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. March 1 in the Church of the Nazarene, 4900 N.W. Highway 99W, north of Corvallis. Interment will be in Benton Hospice Service, Inc. at P.O. Box 100, Corvallis, Ore. 97339 or care of DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel, 815 N.W. Buchanan, Corvallis, Ore. 97330.

Daniels
John "Dave" Daniels, 92, of Woodburn died Feb. 24.
Born May 28, 1908, in Snyder, Texas, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed as a chef and owned several cafes and small restaurants in Texas and Colorado. He was a member of Woodburn Worship Center.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Daniels of Woodburn; son, Derek Daniels of Arvada, Colo.; daughter, Mavis Lloyd of Aloha; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will begin 11 a.m. Feb. 28 in Woodburn Worship Center. Interment will be in Belle Passi cemetery, Woodburn.
Arrangements are by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.

Negrey
David Alexander Negrey, 77, of Woodburn died Feb. 24.
Born Feb. 13, 1923, in Great Falls, Mont., he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a sales representative in electronic manufacturing for the Zenith Corporation. He moved to the Woodburn Senior Estates in 1982. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salem.
He married
Lillyn Unkie April 23, 1945.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Beth Negrey of Monrovia, Calif., and Paula Strid of Poulsbo, Wash.; brother, Fred Negrey of Las Vegas; sisters, Kathleen Leech of Durand, Mich., and Wilma Capaul of Greenacres, Wash.; two grandchildren.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. March 6 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 510 Idylwood Drive, SE., Salem.
Interment will be in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.

Myers
Vesta Elizabeth Myers, 87, of Montana, formerly of Woodburn died Feb. 18.
Born June 29, 1913, in Hubbard, she was raised in a farm near Hubbard and lived in Woodburn from 1933 to 1940. She was a member of the Grange and of the Joseph United Methodist Church.
Her interests included traveling, cards and baking pies.
She married
Ersel Case. She later married
James Myers in 1943; he died in 1976.
Survivors include her son, Lyle Myers of Missoula, Mo.; stepson, David Myers of Oregon City; sisters, Hazel Smith of Woodburn and Selma Wright of Wilsonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held.
Interment will be held at a later date in Joseph cemetery.
