SANDRA LEE ZAHNLE
November 3, 1941 – May 6, 2016
Sandra Lee Zahnle, age 74, of Tigard, Oregon, passed away on May 6th, 2016. She was born in Highland Park, Illinois, on November 3rd, 1941.
The Zahnle family moved to the Oregon Coast in 1956. Sandra graduated from Taft High School in Lincoln City, Ore. in 1959. She attended Monterey Peninsula Jr. College in Monterey, California, and received an associate’s degree in business. She returned to the Pacific Northwest in 1969 where she had a rewarding 30-year career in the accounting office with Consolidated Freightways.
During this time Sandra enjoyed spending weekends with her parents on the Siletz River and accompanying the family on camping trips in the Wallowa Mountains. In her retirement, Sandra was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish in Tigard, Ore.; she enjoyed crocheting prayer shawls and baby blankets for St. Anthony’s prayer shawl group and could always be seen helping out at events hosted by the Catholic Daughters. She faithfully put together the weekly church newsletter with the newsletter group. She had many close friends at St. Anthony’s; these were relationships that she cherished very much. She enjoyed volunteering in the kindergarten classroom of St. Anthony’s School for many years and loved watching the children as they grew up in the parish.
Sandra enjoyed her patio garden in Summerfield and was a member of the Summerfield Garden Club.
Sandra loved traveling and accompanied her family on many family vacations; her favorite place to go was Kona, Hawaii. She also traveled on five pilgrimages to Italy, Portugal, Spain, Bosnia, and France, visiting shrines and other historical holy places with Diocese Travel Club.
Sandra was a devoted daughter; she cared for her aging mother in Tigard until her death in 2012.
She is survived by her sisters, Judy (Douglas) Nesbitt of Montana, Kathy (Michael) McGowan, and niece and nephew Erin Rose and Kevin McGowan of Alaska, as well as cousins, Carol Hudson and Debra Zahnle, of Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be pleased if you would make a donation to St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish or St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Tigard in Sandra’s name.
Arnold M. Olson
Arnold M. Olson of Gleneden Beach, died peacefully at home on Oct. 4, 2011, surrounded by family. He was 91.
Olson was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Highland Grove Township, Minn. On July 5, 1942, he married
the love of his life, Marjorie Burnside in Everett, Wash.
Arnold was a construction superintendent for Wick Construction of Seattle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marjorie, of Gleneden Beach; his children, Wayne (Pat) Olson of Seattle, Wash., Sherry (Tom) Lucas of Depoe Bay, and Joyce (Jerry Johnson) Husmoe of Vashon, Wash; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family held a private memorial service.
Bateman Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
Raymond George Barth
Raymond George Barth, 69, of the Forest Grove community passed away on January 14, 2016 at his home.
Raymond was born on October 18, 1946 in Mott, ND. He was one of eight children born to Floyd and Helen (Stumper) Barth. Raymond and the family moved to Gaston, Oregon where he received his education from Gaston High School.
Following high school, Raymond joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966. He served his country for four years and earned the rank of Corporal before being honorably discharged in 1970.
Throughout Raymond’s life he worked as a cook, did odd jobs, and was a truck driver. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. Raymond was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed everything about cars, building model cars, hot rods and visiting car shows. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, and hosting BBQ’s. Raymond was a very social man who never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.
Raymond is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Barth, and brother, Calvin Barth.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Raymond and Jessica Barth of Tigard, Oregon, Travis and Jennifer Barth of Amity, Oregon, Teresa and Casey Hoffman of Amity, Oregon and Michael Doty of McMinnville, Oregon, mother, Helen Barthof Forest Grove, Oregon, siblings, Floyd and Tina Barth of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Terry and Cathie Barth of Hillsboro, Oregon, Marty and Rae Anne Barth of Salem, Oregon, Kathy and Jim Edwards of Kenmore, Washington, Doretta and Terry Clark of Gaston, Oregon, Cindy Shermerhorn of Forest Grove, Oregon, and three grandchildren, Nevaeh, Montana, and Devin.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday,January 31, 2016 at the Eagles Lodge/424 N. 26th Ave in Cornelius, Oregon.

Paul Engel
Paul Pesach Engel died Oct. 7, 2011, at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City. He was 92.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., on Jan. 10, 1919, to George and Rose (Seigal) Engel.

Nina Lee Graney of Lincoln City died Oct. 12, 2011, at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. She was 77.
She was born in Bridgeport, Ohio, to Frank and Mary (Deangelo) Volpe on Sept. 19, 1934.

Nina Lee Graney of Lincoln City died Oct. 12, 2011, at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. She was 77.

Janet Beardmore
Janet Beardmore, a longtime resident of Depoe Bay and Lincoln City, died on Tuesday, Oct. 11, in Portland, Ore., after a six-year bout with Alzheimer's. She was 87.
Janet was born March 12, 1924.
Her family is asking that in lieu of flowers, friends donate to The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research.
Jerry E. Krajeski
Jerry E. Krajeski, 79, of Portland passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015.
Jerry was born July 17, 1936 in Valentine, Nebraska to Ida (Larsen) Krajeski and Edward Krajeski.
Jerry was preceded in death by father Edward, mother Ida, sister Pauline Flores and brothers Robert and Richard. Jerry is survived by daughter Michelle (Jerry) Rickles, grandsons Nicholas and Adam Emelity, daughter Tamara Krajeski and grandson Christopher Krajeski and son Michael Krajeski. Also, four grandchildren. Plus, surviving are sister Jean Parker, nieces Vanessa (John) Coggins, Donna Herndon, Diane Brown and nephew Terry Justesen. There are numerous other nieces and nephews surviving.
Jerry moved to Lincoln City in 1952. He attended Taft High School graduating in 1955 (he excelled in sports for the Taft Tigers). Jerry worked at the Dorchester House during his high school years. Jerry is best remembered for being manager at Pixie Kitchen and Pixieland in the 1950s and 1960s. Jerry moved to Portland area in 1967 to become a truck driver retiring in 1993.
Jerry was much loved by his family and enjoyed family get togethers immensely.
To quote Cathy Golly-Dunlap. “He impressed me as a nice fellow that treated everyone kindly and that is a testimony that he was important here on earth”. He will be missed.
A private family burial is scheduled.
Richard G. Cribbs
Richard G. Cribbs, a Happy Valley resident and father of three, died Nov. 4, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 55.
Richard was born July 16, 1956, in Portland to Samuel Thurston Cribbs II of Lincoln City and the former Cleo Mae Bowman of Portland. He was raised in Lincoln City, where he graduated from Taft High School in 1974.
He moved to Portland shortly after his high school graduation. He served four years in the U.S. Navy as an electrician. Richard received his associate's degree from Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham following his honorable discharge from the Navy. He most recently was employed by Jubitz Corp. in Portland as a mobile refueling driver.
Richard was the husband of Angela Fox Cribbs, publisher of the Clackamas Review and Oregon City News. He was described by his friends and family as a very kind and gentle person with a big personality. He loved to joke with everyone, but especially with his wife, Angela, and oldest daughter, Alexandria. They always believed everything he said - even though they knew better.
Over the years, Richard enjoyed motor cross biking, camping, golf, bowling, fishing and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; his children, Alexandria, age 14, Zachary, age 10, and Isabella, age 8; two step-children Andy Cole and Amy Cole Owens; seven step-grandchildren; sister Jacklyn Oswald of Portland; brother Samuel Thurston Cribbs III and his wife, Linda, of Shady Cove; brother Boyd Cribbs and his wife, Susan, of Dallas, Ore.; and sister Patricia Yancey and her husband, Paul, of Prineville.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes, 11667 S.E. Stevens Road, Happy Valley.
Close friends of the family have set up an account to benefit the children: the Cribbs Family Fund at Columbia State Bank, 10413 Southeast 82nd Ave., Portland, OR 97086. In lieu of flowers, they suggest that donations be made to that account.
Libba Alexander
Libba Alexander "Lib" died quietly and unexpectedly at home on Nov. 18, 2011. She was 67.
Libba was born Feb. 2, 1944, to Sidney and Frances Alexander in New York City. She was a long-time resident of Lincoln City and a passionate advocate for animal rights. Lib lived a relatively reclusive lifestyle by choice but had a lust for life, wine and art. If you knew her - you loved her.
Cremation has already taken place with only a small private service having been held in her home as per her request.
Donations in her memory to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

Brandy Lee Stroeder lost her brave fight for life and for fairness in the health care system . Brandy, a McMinnville native and McMinnville High School graduate burst upon the scene when she asked that the Oregon Health Plan cover an experimental therapy that might save her life.
After the Oregon Health Plan refused to cover her surgery community members and Shilo Inn Founder Mark Hemstreet reached into their pockets to pay for the surgery.
Hopes were briefly raised in December when a set of donor organs was found, unfortunately they proved unsuitable for transplant.
When she was younger Brandy enjoyed volleyball, softball, trips to the Oregon Coast, shopping and gourmet cooking. Brandy aspired to be a gourmet chef.
