Patricia Lehman
Patricia (Patti) M. Lehman died Aug. 2, 2010, at her home in Rose Lodge of natural causes. She was 71.
Patti was born Jan. 29, 1939, to Mildred M. and Raymond Campbell in Portland, where she was raised, going on to graduate from Portland Christian High School.
On June 8, 1956, she married
Lee V. Lehman Sr., in Portland.
Patti served as head cashier western world region for General Mills, Inc., head accountant for private CPA firms and general manager for condominium associations
She resided in Longview, Wash., Boring, Ore., and retired to Otis.
Patti's life was dedicated to serving the Lord and providing loving support for her family and friends. She gave endless time and financial support to the following not-for-profit organizations: American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Doernbecher Children's Hospital (Pediatric Cancer Center for Research & Treatment), Lions Club International, Lioness Club International, Angel's Anonymous, OMSI, Portland Art Museum, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Mark. O. Hatfield Marine Science Center, youth organizations and various theatre groups throughout Oregon.
Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, crochet, knitting, and visiting museums and aquariums.
One of Patti's greatest memories was being the first Torch Bearer for the Lincoln City Relay for Life Survivor's Lap. She was the only survivor of three types of cancer and it gave her great sense of purpose to share her story and encourage other men, women and children to "never give up, Always think positive and to remember Phillipians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'"
She is survived by her husband, Lee; children, Cheryl Lehman Preston and Lee (JR) V. Lehman, Jr; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lehman; grandchildren, Lorun Lehman-Rogers, Christina Lehman, Robert Lehman, Patrick Lehman Preston, Mycole Lehman Preston, Noah Lehman and Savannah Lehman; extended family, Gretchen Amaucher and "niece and nephew" Erika and Joel; Mari (Larry) Kircher and "nephew" Kaitanie.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, the Assembly of God Church, 1715 NE 19th St., Lincoln City

Loren Martin
Loren Lee Martin died August 10, 2010, at his home in Lincoln City. He was 55.
He was born Dec. 23, 1954, in Gardena, Calif., to Edwin and Marie (Drown) Martin.
Loren attended Citrus Junior College and Pasadena Junior College. He was involved in many fields including public relations but enjoyed working with people face to face the most.
He was a member of the Unity of the Foothills Church in Covina, Calif.
Loren was affiliated with amateur rockets, which were activated in the Southern California Desert. "National Geographic" filmed some of their work, which was seen worldwide. He was an amateur scriptwriter for movies and an active member of Friends of the Library in Central Point, Ore.
Loren is survived by his mother, Marie Martin of Lincoln City; sister Michelle Lawhorn of Tillamook; and brothers Dennis Martin of Woodenville, Wash., Brian Martin of Houquim, Wash., and Brent Martin of Medford, Ore.
Services have been held.
Contributions can be made to the children's hospital in lieu of flowers.

Michael Henry
Michael Duane Henry of Lincoln City died Aug. 9, 2010, at his home. He was 64.
He was born Dec. 5, 1945. A complete obituary is expected at a later date. Services entrusted into the care of Affordable Burial and Cremation.
John Keepers
John Edwin Keepers of Lincoln City died Aug. 8, 2010, at his daughter's residence in Lincoln City. He was 71.
John was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Eugene to William N. Keepers and Eugenia F. Young.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Trent Church of Christ in Dexter, Ore., followed by a reception. Services entrusted into the care of Affordable Burial & Cremation Co.
Kathy Standiford
Kathy Lynn Standiford died Aug. 11, 2010 in Lincoln City. She was 60.
She was born Jan. 13, 1950, in Klamath Falls to Henry and Mae (Seaman) Carroll.

Michael D. Henry
Michael Duane Henry of Lincoln City died Aug. 9, 2010, in the comfort of his home of pancreatic cancer. He was 64.
He was born Dec. 5, 1945, in Klamath Falls to Owen and Patricia Henry. He graduated from San Leandro High School and completed two years of college.
He spent his childhood in Walla Walla, Wash., then San Leandro, Calif. He followed his family to Anacortes, Wash., in the San Juan Islands. He then moved to Oregon, where he finally settled in Lincoln City on the Siletz River.
Over the years Mike held several different types of occupations. He worked in the office of his father's real estate business. He was employed as a machinist for several years for companies like Caterpillar Tractor. He owned a small baseball card shop in Anacortes, Wash. He drove a truck across the western United States and Canada. He also worked in the casino business for 15 years as a blackjack and craps dealer until he retired two years ago.
Mike enjoyed many interests and hobbies. Among them were refinishing furniture, duck hunting, antiques and collecting a variety of things over the years. He coached little league years ago. He also liked playing online poker, but his true passion was fishing. He loved living on the Siletz River and being a part of the river family.
Mike was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be missed very much by all who had the privilege of having him in their lives.
He is survived by his wife, Melody Lynn Henry of Lincoln City; mother, Patricia Henry of Anacortes, Wash.; daughter Heather Barker, son-in-law TJ Barker and granddaughter Kelsey Barker of Livermore, Calif.; son Matthew Henry of Anacortes, Wash.; stepsons Ryan and Bo Clements; brother Gary Henry and sister-in-law Kate Tibbetts of Anacortes, Wash.
His father, Owen Henry, died earlier.
A memorial/celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 11, at Chinook Bend Resort, 2920 Siletz Highway, with a reception following.

Eileen G. Hoog
Longtime Roads End resident Eileen Hoog died July 21, 2010, at her son's home in Redmond, Wash., after a few days of complications from pneumonia. She was 90.
Eileen was born in Dublin, Ireland, on July 28, 1919, and grew up in Belfast.
A kindergarten teacher by training, she moved to Sweden after World Ward II, where she met her husband, Carl Gustav Hoog.
They moved to the U.S. in 1951, settling in Portland a year later. They retired to Roads End in 1984.
Eileen is survived by her sister, Doreen Montgomery of Belfast, Northern Ireland; her son, Carl Peter Hoog and daughter-in-law Diane Harman-Hoog of Redmond, Wash.; four step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at St James Episcopal Parish, Lincoln City.
Samuel T. Cribbs II
Samuel Thurston Cribbs II died July 24, 2010, at his home. He was 87.
He was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Portland to Samuel and Thelma Cribbs.
He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, spent time in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 1951.
Sam had a café in the Taft area of Lincoln City in the 1940s with his wife, Cleo Tate, and started his family. He lived in the Lincoln City area thereafter with a few years back in Portland but always loved the Coast and returned. "Sam the Milkman" had the Tillamook Dairy route along the "20 Miracle Miles" for years and enjoyed, with his children working by his side, his interactions with his many associates along the route.
Sam spent many years actively involved in the school system when his children attended the Lincoln City schools, in various positions with the community government, including the police commission, the JC's, city council and, later, as the mayor of Lincoln City.
Sam is survived by his five children, Jacklyn Oswald of Portland, Samuel Cribbs III and Linda of San Diego, Calif., Boyd Cribbs and Susan of Dallas, Ore., Patricia Yancey and Paul of Prineville, Ore., and Richard Cribbs and Angela of Portland, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren.
His parents and sister, Miriam Francis of Salem, died earlier.
He thoroughly enjoyed the last years of his life with Zela Rutledge of Gleneden Beach, for which his family will be eternally grateful.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Lincoln City Elks Lodge.
Arrangements were handled by Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City. Contributions may be made in Sam's name to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospice or the North Lincoln County Historical Museum.
John E. Keepers
John Edwin Keepers of Lincoln City died Aug. 8, 2010, at his home of Parkinson's disease. He was 71.
John was born Sept. 29, 2010, in Eugene to William N. Keepers and Eugenia F. Young.
He attended high school in Pleasant Hill, graduating in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. On April 19, 1969, he married
Barbara Miller. They had two children.
John was a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, where he enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and the Oregon Ducks. He was also a member of the Trent Church of Christ in Dexter, Ore., where he served as a deacon and an elder. He worked in the timber industry most of his life and retired from the Pennington Crossarm Co. as a trim saw operator.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Miller) Keepers of Lincoln City; children, Will (and Season) Keepers of Silverton and Genie Keepers of Lincoln City; twin sister, Nadine Keepers of Eugene and sisters Carol Ager of Roseburg, Thelma Mathis of Prescott, Ariz., and Clara Harris of Woodburn; and brother Walt Keepers of Pleasant Hill.
Services have been held and were entrusted into the care of Affordable Burial & Cremation Co.
Betty Taylor
BETTY JEAN (THUNDERBULL) TAYLOR, 68, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died Sunday, October 18, 2009. She was born on March 21, 1941 in Pine Ridge, South Dakota the daughter of Clarence and Alvina C. Plentywolf Thunderbull. She married
Robert Rolland Taylor on August 15, 1964 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Betty worked for 28 years as a Human Resources Specialist Grade Eleven and retired on May 1, 2006 with Indian Health Services. Betty is a full blooded Ogallala Sioux. She loved her dogs Kili and Tabber.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle Taylor and family of Dallas, Oregon and son Godson Terence Salinas of Billings, Montana, sisters Elaine Salinas and family of Worland, Wyoming and Wanda Weaver and family of Las Vegas, Nevada and Arlene Janis and family of Rapid City, and brother Everett Thunderbull of Manderson, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on May 29, 2006, brother Wendell Thunderbull.
Funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm Friday, October 23rd in the Black Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Black Hills National cemetery in Sturgis.
Bill Cooley
BILL COOLEY, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died on Monday, July 8th at the Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital in Portland after a lengthy battle with M.D. S. Bill was born on May 10, 1956 in McMinnville, Oregon the son of Don and Margery Cooley. Bill grew up in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1974. Bill married
Terri Griffin on June 13, 1975. Bill had worked for Biskey’s Appliance in Sheridan selling appliances. Bill worked for Boise Cascade in Willamina for a time and later at Smith’s Home Furnishing in Salem. Bill moved to Dallas in 1988. He had been a Paramedic in both Sheridan and Dallas. Bill began his employment with the Sheridan Correctional Center when it opened in 1989. Bill worked as a Supervisory Correctional Systems Specialist. He retired in March of 2013 after a 24 year career. Bill enjoyed tent camping and fishing with his family. Bill loved fishing in rivers, lakes but especially the ocean. He also enjoyed snow skiing. Bill was well known as “Mr. Fix It”
Bill is survived by his wife Terri, sons, Todd and Ryan Cooley of Dallas, father, Don Cooley of Sheridan, brothers, Harry Cooley of Sheridan, Kevin Cooley of McMinnville, along with grandchildren Ashlynn, Kayla, Ethan and Madison. He was preceded in death by his mother Margery Cooley in 2003.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center 287 SW Washington Street in Dallas, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Red Cross, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute or the National Marrow Donor Program. Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is caring for the family.
