Adeline A. Prewitt
Adeline Anna Prewitt, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003. She was born Jan. 2, 1927 in Salem, Ore.
Adeline was a wife and mother, and owned her own business for 25 years. She was an active member of the Eagles Local 2576 in Lincoln City.
Survivors include a sister, Vera Herr of Craigmont, Idaho; daughters, Sandra Stephens of Lincoln City, and Sherry Wagner of Rainier, Ore.; a son Robert Williams of Rowland Heights, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In lie of funeral services, Adeline request a Celebration of Life which will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Eagles Lodge in Lincoln City.
Jerry L. Davis
Friends and family of Jerry Lee Davis are invited to a Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 23, in the community center at Willark Park, 3700 N. Hwy. 101, Lincoln Beach. Jerry died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at the age of 65 at Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro of heart failure.
Prior to retiring and moving to the Lincoln City area, Jerry spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy. Serving our country he was stationed on numerous ships and was in Vietnam and Saigon.
Jerry moved to our area to be close to his sisters, Connie and Vicki. But his move brought him more than families ties. Jerry found the love of his live, Lou Ann, during the spring of 1999. They were married
in March of 2002.
Although their time together was brief, it was filled with an incomparable closeness and friendship that made both their lives complete.

Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, Helen Louise Parscal-Davis and Ralph Davis.
Ron Ruf of the Four Square Gospel Church will be officiating the ceremony, and there will be a potluck following.

Rogers E. Osborn
Rogers S. Osborn, 71, of Lincoln City, died in his home Friday, Feb. 14, 2003.
Born in 1931 in New Mexico, he moved to Oregon as a child. Twenty years ago Rogers moved to Lincoln City and made this his home. He was and active member and past president of the Eagles.
Rogers was a devoted and amazing dad, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his remaining adult children, Susan Asula of Portland; Charles E. Osborn, Sherrie Prestridge, Kim Osborn, Christy Szewczyk, long-time residents of Lincoln City.
By the decedents request, no services will be held.
LUCINDA ‘CINDY’ COTTAM
October 5, 1951 – May 22, 2016
Lucinda “Cindy” Cottam, of Lincoln City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 22, 2016, outside of Eagle, Idaho. She was born to William and Dot LaRock in St. Helens, Ore., on October 5, 1951.
She graduated from Sandpoint, Idaho, and later received an associate’s degree in accounting at Washoe Community College. Cindy spent most of her childhood and early adult years riding horses until a serious accident tempered her desire to ride. In 1989, she married
Paul Cottam, who was her best friend, spouse, and business partner in the Beachcomber Gift Store. She spent several years as a Cub and Boy Scout leader and was actively involved with Kiwanis.
Cindy is survived by her mother, Dot Wiggins of Eagle, Idaho; sister, Linda (Dean) Bishop of Sandy, Utah; daughters, Terrie (Jason) Cloud of Boise, Idaho, and Melissa Jennings of Beaverton, Ore.; a son, Jeffrey (Krystal) Cottam of Ontario, Ore., plus four handsome grandsons and a beautiful granddaughter.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Richard R. Varner
Richard Raymond "Ric" Varner, 34, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at the family home in Yamhill of leukemia.
He was born May 21, 1968 in Eugene, the son of Raymond J. and Diane Lee (Dickerson) Varner. His early years were spent in Yamhill where he attended elementary school and Yamhill-Carlton High School. He graduated from Taft High School in 1987 after spending his senior year in Lincoln City.
Ric spent nearly five years at Oregon State University where he majored in sports physical therapy. During that time, he worked at The Inn At Spanish Head in Lincoln City where he became the room service manager. Most recently he was the assistant production manager at Precision Auto Body in Beaverton.
A lifelong Trailblazer fan, Ric enjoyed basketball. He also liked the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping and traveling. He played the guitar, enjoyed a variety of styles of music and, of course, liked cars.
Remembered by many as a young man who overcame a number of difficult challenges in his life, he always sought out others to mentor and assist during their times of struggle. Even during his most recent illness, he would spend time with others to help them through their difficult treatments. Additionally, he was especially fond of his three nieces,natalie, Nicolasa and Adah. He also valued the many friendships he formed throughout his life.
Survivors include his parents, Ray and Diane Varner of Yamhill; three sisters, Candace Varner of Boston, Mass., Chris West of Sheridan and Lori Hill of Vernonia; a half-sister, Mary Leek of Corvallis; grandfather Ralph Jensen of Forest Grove; and numerous other relatives.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home, 1070 W. Main in Hillsboro. Bryan McKelvey, Chaplain for the Washington County Sheriff's Office, will be officiating. The reception following will be at the River House, 4000 SE Rood Bridge Road, Hillsboro (near Meriweather Golf Course).

Nielo Nickolai Hill
Nielo Hill, age 84, of Lincoln City, passed away at his home on Friday, May 24, 2002 from natural causes. Nielo was born in Taft, Oregon on December 5, 1917 to Thomas and Amelia Perna Hill, who were early pioneers of Taft. He was born and raised in the Lincoln City area where he farmed. He was also nationally recognized for his chainsaw carvings; much to the delight of his family and friends.
He married
Anna Mae Koziel on November 1, 1941, in Vancouver, Washington. Hill was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Ann Smith. He is survived by his wife Anna M. of Lincoln City; his son, Neal Hill of Springfield, Oregon; and his daughter Sheryl Diana Smith of Lincoln City. He had four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and 65 cousins in Finland.
Services for Nielo Hill will be held at the Evangelical Church in the Taft area of Lincoln City on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taft cemetery Association in Nielo's name. Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City is handling the arrangements.
Lee C. Harrison
Lee C. Harrison, 90, died Monday, May 20, 2002 at his home in Lincoln City (Coronado Shores).
He was born March 12, 1912 in Aurora, Nebraska to Alva A. and Viva Woods Harrison.
On December 21, 1930, Lee married
Nona Meir-Henry in Blair, Neb., who preceded him in death in November, 1989.
Lee worked as a butcher in Cottage Grove from 1941 to 1972 and was a member of the Meat Cutters Union.
Surviving are his brother, Ralph Harrison of Portland; granddaughter Karen Harrison, grandson David Harrison, and daughter-in-law Sue Ordway, all of Vancouver, Wash.
Pacific View Memorial Chapel, Lincoln City, handled the arrangements.
Helen Louise Dupus
Helen Louise Dupus died on May 25, 2002 at age 86.
Helen Louise Anderson was born January 1, 1916 in Portland, Ore. She graduated from Lincoln High School in January 1935. She worked at Montgomery Wards from 1935 to 1943. She married
Carl E. Peterson in 1935 and together they founded the Rose City Soap Company. He died in 1957. In 1958, she married
Eugene A. Holbrook. They retired and moved to Lincoln City in 1974. He died in 1989. She married
again in 1992 to Myron Dupus, who passed away in 1999.
Helen was very active in her church, St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran, and in the Lincoln City Elks and Eagles organizations. She was well known for wearing seasonal hats and for her love of dance.
Survivors include her daughters, Dotty Holm of Lake Oswego and Carol Johns of Oregon city; her sister, Ruth Tweet of Milwaukie; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on June 8, at St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church, 1226 SW 13th St., Lincoln City.

Denice J. Wilson
Denice Joy Wilson, 43, a long-time Coos Bay resident, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001 in Lincoln City of a diabetic seizure. She was born in Anchorage, Alaska on June 18, 1958 and grew up in the Salem area.
Denice loved camping, traveling, the ocean and crafts especially beadwork and quilting. She was an active school volunteer and a participant in numerous blackpowder/ mountain man rendezvous. She was a member of the Tioga Mountain Men blackpowder gun club.
Surviving are her parents, Gloria and Orion Wilson of Coos Bay, Ore. and Tucson, Ariz. respectively; sons, Darwin, Nathanial and Matthew and brothers Dan of Jefferson, Ore., Dale of Camas, Wash., David of Seattle, Wash., Denali of Salem, Ore. and Dru of Worley, Idaho.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 10, at the Jefferson branch chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Bradley J. Bogeart
Bradley James Bogeart, 14, of Otis, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 in a motor vehicle accident at milepost 79.9 on Highway 101, Beaver, Ore.
He was born Feb. 28, 1987 in Lincoln City, and was a student at Taft Middle School.
Brad was a very outgoing person; he had many friends who loved and will miss him. He liked all kinds of sports, enjoyed camping and fishing, and dearly loved being with his family.
Surviving are his mother, Laurie Byers of Lincoln City; father, James Bogeart of Otis; sisters, Charlene Foster Bogeart, Kimberly Bogeart, and Rachel Melton, all of Lincoln City; a brother, Leonard Byers, Jr. of Lincoln City; grandparents James and Babe Bogeart of Otis.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Evangelical Church in Lincoln City.
June Clinton
June Clinton of Lincoln City passed away Aug. 9, 2001.
She was born March 28, 1930, in Augusta, Kansas.
She worked for many years for Lincoln County School District. After retiring in 1992 she volunteered as a teacher's aid at Oceanlake Elementary School for 8 years.
She is survived by her brother, Dewey Clinton of Reedsport; her daughters Delores Roberts of Thornton, Colo., Ruth Spencer of Portland, and Deb Gaffney of Lincoln City; and six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, her cat, Sandy, and many friends.
Services were held Aug. 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lincoln City.
