Frankie Randolph
1943-2004
Frankie Joann Randolph, 60, died on March 25 of heart failure.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1943, to Charles and Grace (Bry-ant) Herndon in Bell, Calif. She married
Tommy Randolph on May 6, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She lived in El Monte and Bell, Calif., before moving to Cottage Grove 20 years ago.
A homemaker, she operated the Diamond Lake Campground, worked at Coast Fork Nursing home and ran a boys ranch in Arizona. She was named Employee of the Month at Coast Fork Nursing Home.
She enjoyed bingo, yard sales, hunting, fishing and being in the wilderness.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter: Geneva Beaty of Cottage Grove; three brothers: Billy, Earl and Chuck; two sisters: Helen and Mary Lou; and one grandson: Randy Thomas Beaty.
No service is planned. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
David Sloan
1955-2004
David Allen Sloan, of Grants Pass, has died on March 11 at the age of 48.
He was born to Robert M. and Betty M. Sloan on Dec. 11, 1955, in Garden Grove, Calif. In 1973 he moved to Grants Pass with his family and lived there off and on for 15 years before returning in 2000.
He married
Cathy Bounds in 1978; they later divorced.
He also lived in Las Vegas, Nev., Huntington Beach, Calif., and Battle Ground, Wash. He was a journeyman drywall contractor in California.
He was a member of the Painters and Drywallers union. He enjoyed fishing and target shooting.
He is survived by two daughters: Jennifer D. Sloan of Kelso, Wash., and Aimie M. Sloan of Cottage Grove; three brothers: Timothy Sloan of Kingman, Ariz., Robert Sloan Jr. of Grants Pass and Steven Sloan of Sweet Home; and four grandchildren.
A private service will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors of Grants Pass are in charge of arrangements.
Alice Peterson
1925-2004
Alice Peterson, a 60-year resident of the area, died April 30 at the age of 78 from complications due to open heart surgery and diabetes.
She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Sisseton, S.D., to John and Inas Berquist. She completed school through ninth grade in Hood River.
She married
Orville Peterson in Albany Sept. 1, 1945.
She previously lived in South Dakota, California and Hood River.
She was a homemaker and worked at A&P; Slat Co.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, music and her greatgrandchildren. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and a past grand matriarch of Oregon for the Ladies Encampment Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law: Billie and Darryl Crooks of Creswell; daughter: Bonnie Settera of Springfield; brother: Calvin Berquist of Cottage Grove; grandchildren: Darin and Jennifer Crooks of Cottage Grove, Terisa Settera of Springfield and Timothy Settera of Springfield; and great-grandchildren: Autumn and Derek Crooks and Julie, Talama and Marcus Settera. She was also loved by Mykael McMahan.
A visitation was held May 5 at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. A funeral was held at Smith-Lund-Mill Funeral Chapel May 6 and nurnment was at Willamette National cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent in lieu of flowers to Eugene Diabetes Association.
Wayne Andrews
1946-2004
Wayne Andrews, 57, a 30-resident of the Cottage Grove area, died Thurs-day of Guil-lain-Barre syndrome.
He was born Aug. 15, 1946, to Edward and Mary Andrews in Santa Maria, Calif. He grew up in the Kelseyville and Lakeport area of California.
He graduated from Kelseyville High School in 1964. He attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, Calif., for two years. He received a bachelor of science degree from California State University in Chico in Industrial arts and also received a teaching certificate.
He married
Kristen Grace Arneson in Lakeport, Calif., Aug. 29, 1970.
He taught at Upper Lake High School in Lake County, Calif., before moving to Cottage Grove in 1974. He taught auto shop and social studies at Cottage Grove High School from 1974 to 1978.
He was a member of the Cottage Grove-Eugene Sportsmens Club, the National Rifle Association and Riverside Church of God in Cottage Grove.
Survivors include his wife: Kristen Grace Andrews; daughters and spouses: Kimberly Grace Andrews and Timothy Romanowski of Corvallis and Brooke Elizabeth Andrews of Cottage Grove; three sons: Michael Wayne Andrews and Sean Edward Andrews of Cottage Grove and Kelly Conlin Andrews of Newport; mother: Mary Andrews of Lakeport, Calif.; and two sisters: Rowena Bradley of Kelseyville, Calif., and Joyce Stamps of Willits, Calif.
A visitation was held Sunday at the Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. A service was held Monday at Riverside Church of God in Cottage Grove, followed by interment at Fir Grove cemetery.

Madge A. Johnson
1919-2004
Madge A. Johnson, a lifelong resident of Cottage Grove, died July 20 at the age of 85 from age-related causes.
She was born March 12, 1919, in Cottage Grove to George and Susie (Woodard) Carlile. She graduated from Cottage Grove High School.
She married
Murland Johnson in Cottage Grove Aug. 26, 1938.
She was a homemaker and operated Madges Knit and Stitch Shop.
She enjoyed china painting, porcelain dolls, quilting, helping the needy and tatting. She received numerous china painting awards won at the Lane County Fair.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Cottage Grove.
Survivors include her son: Michael L. Johnson of Keswick, Va.; sisters: Grace Mentzel of Days Creek and Marguerite Roehl of Kanab, Utah; brother: George Carlile of Hoodsport, Wash.; and grandchildren: Heather and Nicholas Johnson.
A service was held Thursday at Fir Grove cemetery followed by interment. Smith-Lund-Mills was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Springfield Hospice.
Alfred Chambers Jr.
1954-2004
Alfred Richard Chamber Jr., 49, of Cottage Grove, died July 24 from cancer.
He was born Sept. 2, 1954, in Wheeling, W.V., to Alfred and Betty Jean Chambers.
After graduating from high school, he attended one year of college.
He married
Georgianna Woolsey in Los Alamitos, Calif., Sept. 7, 1974.
He worked as a meat inspector.
He formerly lived in Graysville and Kirby, Pa.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include his wife; sons and spouses: Alfred and Lauren Chamber of Graysville, Pa., Joshua and Pam Chambers of Waynesburg, Pa., and Jared Chambers of Cottage Grove; daughter: Roxanne Chambers of Waynesburg, Pa.: brothers: Mark Chamber of Morgantown, W.V., and Dennis Chambers of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister: Tammy Jean Borda of Paradise, Calif.; caregiver and sister-in-law: Barbara Lawn; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday followed by inurnment.

William T. Bolin
1917-2004
William T. Bolin, 87, of Cottage Grove, died July 29 from heart failure.
He was born Jan. 29, 1917, to George and Maria Bolin in Pilot Rock.
He married
Violet M. Bolin in Carmel, Calif., Oct. 14, 1950.
He formerly lived in Redwood City, Calif., from 1951 to 1968 and Kelseyville, Calif., from 1968 to 1978.
He served in U.S. Navy communications in the South Pacific during World War II.
He worked as a lineman and engineer for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co.
He was a sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; daughters: Christine Flavio of Mountain View, Calif., Marlene Gerboth of Redding, Calif., and Sydney Hunt of Grass Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be announced. Andreasons Cremation and Burial Service in Eugene was in charge of arrangements.

Ragan McKaye Baker
1986-2004
Ragan McKaye Baker, 18, of Cottage Grove died Thursday from an epileptic seizure.
A service will be at Elkton Community Education Center today at 5:30 p.m.
She was born June 15, 1986, in Las Vegas to Dennis and Maria Baker. She grew up in Las Vegas and lived the past eight years in Elkton and Cottage Grove.
She loved the water and swimming. Her favorite color was purple and she loved the Beatles. Her knowledge of geography and the presidents was impressive.
Survivors include her mother of Cottage Grove; father of Austin, Texas, and two sisters: Erin and Morgan Baker of Cottage Grove.
A private cremation was held under the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
An earlier service was held Sunday at Sunset Hills Memorial Park Chapel in Eugene.
