Parton
Marian Jean Parton, 79, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Woodburn, died Jan. 27, 2005.
Born Oct. 20, 1925 in Traer, Iowa, she moved to Oregon as a young girl and spent most of her life there. She graduated from Yamhill-Carlton High School in 1943.
She married
George W. Parton in 1946. They lived in Portland where she worked as a secretary for various companies, spending most of her career with FMC Corporation.
She was active in Eastern Star, TOPS and Campfire Girls. In 1971 they moved to the Hubbard and Woodburn area and then, last year, to Sacramento.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Parton; daughter, Linda Sutter of Sacramento; son, Jerry Parton of Vancouver; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 19 at the Woodburn Church of Christ.
Beebe
Alta Mae Beebe (Stull), 81, of Woodburn, died Feb. 11, 2005.
Born May 29, 1923 in Marshfield, she worked for BLM in Coos Bay before moving to Clackamas County, then as a secretary and clerk for the Clackamas County Health Department mental health division for 30 years.
She enjoyed bowling, sewing, gardening and dancing.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Moehnke of Woodburn; and half-brother, Donald Silvester of Alaska.
A cryptside memorial service was held Feb. 16.
Arrangements are by Simon-Woodburn Funeral Chapel.
Davila
Agapito "Pete" Davila, 43 of Salem, died Feb. 13, 2005.
Born Sept. 9, 1961 in Lubbock, Texas, he moved to Salem at age 6 and had worked in the shipyards in Portland as a fabricator/welder having been disabled ten years ago.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his parents, Tomasa and Jose Gonzalez of Woodburn; children, Andrew and Jessica Davila of Washington; brothers, Arthur Davila of Texas, Starky Davila of Oklahoma, Camilo Davila of Dallas, Epifanio Davila of Woodburn; sisters, Hope Cantu of Woodburn, Janie Riggs of Beaverton, Minga Romero of Salem, Lola Olvera of Salem; and one grandson.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at St. Luke's Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at St. Luke's Catholic cemetery.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
Torrez
Jose Omar Torrez, 65, formerly of Woodburn, died April 7, 2005 in Stayton.
Born Nov. 6, 1939 in Big Wells, Texas, he married
Ernestina Salinas in Prineville Oct. 28, 1956.
He was a truck driver and a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Woodburn.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestina, of Woodburn; daughters, Emily, Patricia, Christina, and Jose Torrez; sons, Jose Omar Jr., Steve, Armondo, Damian, Johnny, Joe, Eddie, Joseph, and Ronny Torrez; brothers, Gudalupe, Jose, Hilario Jr., Hondo and Montenegro; sisters, Ninfa and Juanita; 40 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ernie, and a sister, Sylvia.
A rosary was held April 10. Funeral mass was held April 11, with burial following at St. Luke cemetery, Woodburn.
Davis
Janice Y. Davis, 74, of Woodburn, died April 6, 2005.
Born Jan. 4, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa.
After he family moved to Ottumwa, Iowa when she was 4, she began music lessons, ultimately becoming a member of the American Guild of Organists at 16.
She married
Dean Davis on Feb. 3, 1954 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They moved around the Midwest and eventually settled in Denver, Los Alamos, N.M., and California.
He preceded her in death in 2000.
They lived in Tualatin and Hubbard before moving to Woodburn in 1985.
She studied nursing at Cottey College, Iowa University, and Washington University/Barnes Hospital (St. Louis) before earning her degree in psychiatric nursing in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse at Damasch State Hospital, and was a member of PEO DT Chapter in Woodburn and Smyrna United Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, piano and organ music, as well as bingo, bridge and traveling.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel Davis of Placentia, Calif., and Dirk Davis of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Susan Becker of Fayetteville, N.C.; five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. April 13 at the Smyrna United Church of Christ. Private inurnment will be in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Smyrna United Church of Christ or Legacy Hospice in McMinnville.
Woolhiser
Sherry 'Sheryl' Woolhiser, 58, formerly of Woodburn and Hubbard, died Aug. 15, 2005.
She is survived by her sons Daniel and Kyle, and one grandson.
Services were held in Florence, and a memorial service will be held locally within the next month.
Domreis
Raena Jean Domreis, 82, of Woodburn, died April 12, 2006.
Born Aug. 21, 1923 in Tama County, Iowa, she served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946, earning the rank of yeoman 2nd class. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1953.
She was a homemaker and was accomplished in working with textiles, oil painting and also volunteered in many areas. She enjoyed cats and provided a home to several during her lifetime while living throughout Oregon and California. She was also an avid golfer and gardener.
She married
Daniel A. Domreis on Aug. 23, 1947 in Portland.
She is survived by her husband; brothers, Henry Dittmer of Woodburn, Russell Dittmer of Warrenton, and Richard Dittmer of Seaside; and sister, Roberta Vandehey of Eugene.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. April 29 at Hoodview Church of God in Woodburn.
Interment will be at Willamtte National cemetery.
Arrangements are by Heritage Memorial.
Crane
Gladys Ingalls Crane, 87, formerly of Hubbard, recently of Salem, died April 22, 2006.
Born Oct. 2, 1918 in Shamrock in Creek County, Okla., she lived in Shamrock during her early years and then the family moved to Hubbard where she graduated from high school in 1937. She then lived in Portland where she worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. During later years she lived in Milwaukie where she worked at Oregon Saw Chain until she married
her third husband and moved to Hillsboro.
She enjoyed living in California, bowling, playing and teaching bridge and her work with the federal government.
She married
Fred Johnston Kinns on Jan. 16, 1940. They divorced in 1946.
She married
Luke Harrison on Sept. 13, 1947. They later divorced.
She married
Frank John Crane on July 21, 1955. They later divorced.
She is survived by sons James Jay Kinns and Frank Chandler Crane of Salem; sister, Bess Yoder of Woodburn; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. April 29 at Belle Passi cemetery.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.

Kilmer
Vincent Eugene Kilmer, 81, of Woodburn, died April 23, 2006.
Born March 20, 1925 in Oregon City, one of nine children, he graduated from West Linn High School in 1943 and joined the U.S. Army right after. His family moved to San Fernando, Calif., in 1945. He served in the combat engineers and was honorably discharged in 1946. He met Bobbi Aldine Charles, and they were married
on Sept. 22, 1946. They were married
for 59 1/2 years.
They had five of their seven children in San Fernando, then moved to West Linn in 1958 and Mulino in 1959 where they raised their family and lived for the next 28 years. They moved to Woodburn in 1987.
He enjoyed playing golf and telling jokes. He worked in the oil fields in San Fernando and worked for Pacific Motor Trucking in Portland for 23 years, retiring in 1982.
He is survived by seven children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church where a memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. April 26.
Interment will be at Willamette National cemetery.
