Bentley
William "Bill" Lincoln Bentley, 78, of Woodburn died March 1, 2003.
Born Nov. 1, 1924, he graduated from Woodburn High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-17 bombardier/navigator. He graduated from the University of Portland. He worked for Woodburn Truck Line and was active in the Army National Guard as a first lieutenant, was a volunteer firefighter and a grocery store clerk. He was a member of the American Legion for 58 years, a member of VFW, American Ex-POW, Eagles and Elks.
His interests included nature, gardening, traveling, friends, children, animals and his hometown, Woodburn.
He married
Gerry; she died in 1998.
Survivors include his sons, Robert and John; daughters, Bonnie Ruth and Margaret McKinney; sisters, Aileen Stone and Jean Brooks; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
At his request, no public services will be held.
Interment was in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
Roosa
Donavon James Roosa, 63, of Phoenix, formerly of Gervais, died Feb. 8, 2003.
Born Feb. 28, 1939, in Portland, he graduated from high school in Raymond, Wash. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1957 to 1961, mostly in Korea. He was a long haul truck driver.
Survivors include his sons, Garrett of Nevada, David of Salem and Van of Roseburg; daughters, Leanne Brown of Maryville, Wash., and Brenda Vanheck of Alaska; mother, Freda of Woodburn; sisters, Patricia Hupp of Silverton and Marlene Tesch of Gervais; half-brothers, Jim, Dale and Grant all of Lebanon; half sister, Sharon Star of Eugene; stepsister, Linda Schwatz; stepmother, Lorraine Roosa of Lebanon; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. March 15, at Willamette National cemetery, Portland.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a favorite charity.
McIntosh
W. Ethel McIntosh, 93, of Woodburn died March 5, 2003.
Born May 17, 1909, in Stevenson, Wash., she was a homemaker. She lived in Portland before moving to Woodburn in 1973. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Luncheon Club in Portland at Sunnyside Methodist Church, and a member of the Garden Club at Woodburn Senior Estates.
Her interests included gardening, cooking and entertaining.
She married
Leslie D. McIntosh; he died in 1994.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane Anderson of Woodburn; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. March 15 in the First Presbyterian Church in Woodburn.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn.
Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Woodburn.
Landles
James Forty Landles, 92, of Hubbard died March 7, 2003.
Born June 1, 1910, in Coos Bay, he was a self-employed plumber, retiring in 1972. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Elks.
He married
Nina Lucille Lewis July 11, 1972.
Survivors include his wife; son, James Landles of Gresham; brother, Thomas Landles of Mendecino, Calif.; sister, Sally Torrey of Granite Bay, Calif., daughter, Alice Terrell of Edmonds, Wash.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. March 14 in Willamette National cemetery, Portland.

Benzin
John C. Benzin, 74, of Woodburn died April 19, 2003.
Born July 22, 1928, in Fernandina, Fla., he worked as a chemistry teacher for Mid-Vale, then taught at Maupin as a chemistry teacher, vice principal and athletic director. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and the Army during the Korean Conflict. He had two masters in education and was a member of the National Education Asociation and Aberdeen Education Association. He was a member of the Woodburn Senior Estates Golf and County Club, Aberdeen Elks.
His interests included guitar, singing, fishing, hunting, traveling and golf.
He married
Vicki Grant Nov. 17, 1951, in Germany.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Steve of Wooburn, Richard of Auburn, Wash., Russell of Hillsboro; daughters, Lee Ann Thompson of Kent, Wash.; brothers, Manuel of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth of Phoenix City, Ala., Joseph of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Bertha Marie; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. April 24, Willamette National cemetery, Portland.

Wagenman
Christian Wagenman, 72, of Woodburn died April 12, 2003 at Hopewell House Hospice care center in Portland.
Born Jan. 3, 1931, in Jamestown, N.D., he worked at Interpace, a brick factory in Renton, Wash. He also worked at Avison Lumber Co., retiring after 25 years. After retirement, he worked at Canby Ford in auto detailing.
His interests included hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking, antiques and tending to his yard.
He married
Inez Evelyn Entzminger Jan. 7, 1955, in Jamestown, N.D.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Chris Wagenman of Gervais and Todd Wagenman of Oregon City; daughter, Barbara Sigurdson of Keizer; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
At his request, no services will be held.
Kapsoff
Vladimir Kapsoff, 80, of Woodburn died April 18, 2003.
Born March 8, 1923, in Russia, he came to San Francisco, Calif., from Iran in 1951. He became a citizen of the United States and was employed for many years as a caretaker or sexton until retiring and moving to Woodburn 25 years ago. He was a member of the Christian Molokan Church in Gervais.
He married
Lida Orloff in November 1949, in Iran.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Nadia Tichanoff of Silverton, Fenya Samarin of Los Angeles and Nina Tolmachoff of Fresno, Calif.; son, Walter Kapsoff, Jr. of Los Angeles; and 15 grandchildren.
Services were held April 21 in the Christian Molokan Church in Gervais. Interment was in Molokan Section of Gervais Masonic cemetery.

Arney
Esther F. Arney, 91, of Woodburn died April 19, 2003.
Born May 5, 1911, in Brownsville, she worked as a secretary for a representative in the Oregon Legislature for the 1953 and 1955 session. She worked as a clerk for Tillamook County for 11 years, then worked 10 years as a receptionist/switchboard operator for Tillamook Hospital. She lived in Thousand Oaks, Calif., before moving to Woodburn in 1978. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Woodburn and the Tillamook County Pioneer Association.
Her interests included cooking and gardening.
She married
Alfus Locke May 12 in Tillamook; he died in 1949. She married
Clarance Arney Jan. 21, 1967, in Oregon City; he died 1984.
Survivors include her stepson, Robert Arney of Canby and brother, Rex Smith of Tillamook.
Services were held April 22 in Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn. Private entombment was in Portland Mausoleum, Portland.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Custer
Donald Custer, 63, of Woodburn died April 17, 2003.
Born May 19, 1939, in Klamath Falls, he worked in the shipyards at Swan Island. He also worked landscaping in the Salem area. He moved to Woodburn in 1946.
His interests included traveling to Reno.
Survivors include his brothers, George Jr., of Woodburn, Dan of Salem and Darrel; sisters, Doris Sobotka, Jackie Fralich and Rose Oakley, all of Salem.
Services were private.

Nino
Francisca Medina Nino, 89, of Woodburn died April 17, 2003.
Born Oct. 13, 1913, in Mexico, she worked as a farm laborer. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She lived in Alamo, Texas
She married
Ascencion Nino; he died in 1962.
Survivors include her children, Gilberto Nino and Amparo Olivarez, both of Alamo, Texas; Pedro Nino and Emma Reyes, both of Stayton; Jaime Nino, Rosario Lubreas and Esperanza Garces, all of Woodburn; two brothers; two sisters; and 57 grandchildren.
Services were held April 21 in St. Luke Catholic Church, Woodburn. Interment was in St. Luke Catholic cemetery, Woodburn.
Arrangements were by Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Wooburn.
