Robert "Bob" Milton Randall
1915-2004
Robert "Bob" Milton Randall, a four-year resident of Creswell, died Friday at the age of 89 from age-related causes.
He was born to Rufus and Myrtle Randall in Blue Mound, Ill., on Nov. 4, 1915.
He finished eighth grade after having been educated in one-room school houses in Central Illinois.
He married Dorothy Joy Harmon in Olney, Ill., on Sept. 8, 1936.
He moved to Loveland, Colo., in 1946 and then to Cottage Grove in 1950.
He retired from Zumwait and Williams Sand and Gravel after more than 25 years of service, working as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
He and his son also operated an excavation business for 18 years.
He spent time doing building projects, hospital visits, prayer vigils, Bible studies and extending a sympathetic ear or helping hand to people in need.
He also loved the farm.
He was a life member of the Church of Christ, serving as an elder for the North Springfield Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Randall of Creswell; his brother: Lyle Randall of Knoxville, Tenn.; his sister: Blanch Hill of Gridley, Ill., his son: Paul Randall of Creswell; and four grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held today at 11 a.m. at the North Springfield Church of Christ at 1305 N. Fifth St. in Springfield.

M.L. "Roy" Wells
1920-2004
M.L. "Roy" Wells, a 47-year resident of Cottage Grove, died Thursday at the age of 84 from lung cancer.
He was born to William and Myra (Murphy) Wells in Colton on July 23, 1920.
He attended Molalla High School and lived in Molalla, Tillamook and Gold Beach before moving to Cottage Grove.
He married Dorothy Irene Glade in Vancouver, Wash., on Sept. 21, 1940.
He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 during World War II.
He worked as the owner and operator of a logging truck.
He loved spending time with family, hunting, fishing and traveling.
He was a member of the BPOE No. 1904 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He received the Elk of the Year award for 1997-1998 from BPOE No. 1904.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Wells of Cottage Grove; his daughters and sons-in-law: Sonja and Larry Michaelis of Cottage Grove and Treva and Rick Majors of Boise, Idaho; his sisters: Ruby Barnes of Molalla, Myra Ferris of Portland, Mable Perkins of Astoria and Judith McDaniel of Mulino; his brother: Les Wells of Oregon City; and seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Wells.
A service will be held today at 1 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.

Britton N. Hurst, Sr.
1937-2004
Britton N. Hurst, Sr., a lifetime resident of Cottage Grove, died Dec. 1 at the age of 67 from heart failure.
He was born to Harold and Ruth (Fields) Hurst on Sept. 29, 1937, in Cottage Grove.
He graduated from high school in Cottage Grove.
He served in the Army Reserve.
He worked as an equipment operator and overhead crane operator for Weyerhaeuser Co.
He loved being outside, hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his kids and his friends.
He is survived by his brother: Harold Hurst of Cottage Grove; his sons: Neil Hurst Jr. of Prineville; James Hurst of Creswell; his stepdaughter: Tonya Thomason of Cottage Grove; his aunt: Jackie Cannon of Cottage Grove; his uncle: Thompson Fields of Cottage Grove; and five grandchildren.
A private family ceremony was held Tuesday.
Arrangements were made through Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
Camille E. Stout
1924-2004
Camille E. Stout, a 16-year resident of Cottage Grove, died Dec. 13 at the age of 80 from Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born to Paul Fink and Gertrude Schardt in Cheyenne, Wyo., on Nov. 11, 1924.
She married John R. Stout in Yuma, Ariz., in February 1949.
She graduated from high school and worked as a homemaker.
She also lived in Inglewood, Calif., San Diego, Calif., Honolulu, Hawaii, Montana and Elkton.
She enjoyed ceramics, oil painting, playing the electric organ, and walking and she loved animals.
She was a member of the CPO Wives Club in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband: John Stout of Cottage Grove; her brothers: Paul Funk of Hawthorne, Calif., Joseph Fink of Santa Barbara, Calif.; her daughters: Arlene Williams of Boring, Carolyn Odell of Sandy; her sons: John Stout Jr. of Central Point, Richard Stout of Cottage Grove; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial was held Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Cottage Grove.
Arrangements were made though Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's disease Association in Portland.
