Alynne 'Gramma Jackie' Ione Dimick

Alynne "Gramma Jackie" Ione Dimick of Madras died Wednesday of natural causes. She was 94.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at 161 SE Dimick St., Madras.
Mrs. Dimick was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Portland to Gerald and Annie Parker.
She worked for Birdeye Food Corporation.
Mrs. Dimick enjoyed traveling and painting.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Cook of Madras; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son.

Trenton Amos Taylor
Sept. 13, 1976 - March 28, 2004
Trenton Amos Taylor of Bend died Sunday in an airplane accident. He was 27.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 5 at Salem Christian Center.
Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 13, 1976, in Portland to Arthur and June Taylor. He graduated from Salem Academy in 1994 and then attended Chemeketa Community College and Western Oregon University, where he earned his teaching certificate.
Mr. Taylor worked in Bend as a snowmobile guide and was also a substitute teacher for the Bend-La Pine School District. During the summer he also worked as a whitewater rafting guide.
He was a member of the Mirror Pond Church in Bend and had been on two mission trips to help remodel churches in the Philippines and Fiji.
Survivors include his parents of Salem; three brothers, Matthew of Sumner, Wash., Michael of Corvallis and Timothy of Ft. Lewis, Wash.; and a sister, Shannon of Marion.

Francis Merlyn Ives
April 22, 1912 - March 27, 2004
Francis Merlyn Ives of Bend died Saturday of natural causes. He was 91.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Aspen Ridge Retirement Community in Bend.
Mr. Ives was born April 22, 1912, in Beaver, Okla., to Arthur and Pearl (Brown) Ives.
He graduated from high school in Oklahoma and married
Eva (Holman) Ives on July 22, 1972.
Mr. Ives worked as a railroad mechanic in Spokane, Wash., and then as a railroad car inspector for Southern Pacific in Eugene. He lived in Eugene for 30 years and in Bend for two years.
He was a member of the Allison Park Christian Church in Eugene and First Christian Church in Bend. He was also involved with the Oddfellows in Bend, Good Samaritan Club and Knights of Pythias.
Mr. Ives enjoyed fishing, watching sports and gardening.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kath Shultz of Beaver, Okla.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, parents and a grandchild.

Mary Leona (Chapman) Toothman
Sept. 21, 1913 - March 26, 2004
Mary Leona (Chapman) Toothman of Madras died Friday of natural causes. She was 90.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Thursday at Bel-Air Colonial Chapel in Madras. A cryptside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 2, at Idlewilde Memorial Mausoleum in Hood River.
Mrs. Toothman was born Sept. 21, 1913, in Goldendale, Wash., to Alonzo and Elva (Bonjer) Day. She married
Al Chapman on Sept. 21, 1930, in Goldendale and later married
Al Toothman in December of 1975 in Madras.
Mrs. Toothman was a homemaker and former member of the Lady Elks.
Her hobbies included sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
Survivors include her two sons, Clyde Chapman of Hood River and Don Chapman of Madras; a daughter, Donna Mooney of Madras; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, two brothers and a sister.

Michael Earl Garrison
Nov. 28, 1956 - March 24, 2004
Michael Earl Garrison of Bend died March 24 of natural causes. He was 47.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Deschutes Brewery's Mountain Room, 901 SW Simpson Avenue in Bend.
Mr. Garrison was born Nov. 28, 1956, in Roseburg to William Garrison and Sharon (Walker) Curry. He graduated from Bend High School in 1975 and attended the University of Idaho.
Mr. Garrison was a musician. He also served as the president of the Central Oregon chapter of the University of Oregon Duck Club and enjoyed football and golf.
Survivors include his mother; a brother, Mark; and a sister, Margo Baker.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Hugh 'Mac' McClelland
Aug. 5, 1923 - March 19, 2004
Hugh "Mac" McClelland of Redmond died March 19 of natural causes. He was 80.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., April 17, at the Springfield VFW Hall at 5344 Main St., Springfield.
Mr. McClelland was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Sultan, Wash., to Hugh and Emma (Banta) McClelland. He grew up in Sultan and graduated from high school in Skykomish, Wash.
He served in the Coast Guard during World War II in Alaska. He married
Tharon Ward on Feb. 14, 1946, in Bandon.
Mr. McClelland worked in road construction and dam building before moving to Madras, where he worked for the Warm Springs Plywood mill for 25 years. He retired in 1981 and moved to Eugene and then returned to Redmond in 2003.
Mr. McClelland was affiliated with the Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends.
Survivors include his wife of Redmond; a son, Roger of Eugene; two daughters, Judy Kief of Redmond and Jill Pavlicek of Bend; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Marvell Alma Vukich
June 14, 1914 - March 26, 2004
Marvell Alma Vukich of Bend died Friday of natural causes. She was 89.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 2 at Eagle Point National cemetery in Eagle Point.
Mrs. Vukich was born June 14, 1914, in Seattle to William and Emma (VanLuik) Lattimer. She married
George Vukich on Oct. 15, 1949, in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Vukich was a model and actress for Screen Gems and 20th Century Fox.
Her hobbies included ballroom dancing, oil painting and sewing.
Survivors include her husband of Bend; two daughters, Naujean Barrett of Laquina Woods, Calif., and Debra Larson of Bend; a sister, Dorothy Cleveland of Medford; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son and two brothers.

Naomi 'Mickey' LaVonne Wells
Feb. 2, 1928 - March 27, 2004
Naomi "Mickey" LaVonne Wells of Bend died Saturday of natural causes. She was 76.
Visitations will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 1, and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 2, at Niswonger, Reynolds Funeral Home in Bend. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, at Pilot Butte cemetery in Bend.
Mrs. Wells was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Blanchard, Okla., to John and Sadie (Lewis) Thomas. She moved to Oregon as a teenager and lived in Bend for 25 years.
She enjoyed flowers, plants and crocheting.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sherry Norton of Bend and Sandra Kerbow of Prineville; a brother, Jack Thomas of St. Paul, Ark.; two sisters, Sharon Cunningham of Bend and Carlis Wood of Port Orchard, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
