Darrel Francis Parent

Darrel Francis Parent died Monday in Salem. He was 60.
The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Odd Fellows cemetery in Lebanon.
Mr. Parent was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Scobey, Mont., to Patrick and Hattie Parent. He attended schools in Montana and California.
He moved to Lebanon in 1961, and then lived in Bend from 1974 to 1981.
Mr. Parent drove a log truck for more than 27 years before retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his three children, Sean, Clarisse Cooper and Melanie Christenson; his mother, Hattie; one brother, Larry; four sisters, Linda of Lebanon, Judy of Salem, Lila Wood of Auburn, Calif., and Patricia Tunget of Sweet Home; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Niswonger, Reynolds & Tabor Funeral Home. Private disposition will be at Greenwood cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Crystal Young; his father, William Delano; and grandparents, Sherry and Jerry Coublucq, all of Bend.

Ann H. (Bentz) Blomquist
March 21, 1929 - May 13, 2001
Ann H. (Bentz) Blomquist of Bend died Sunday at St. Charles Medical Center. She was 72.
A graveside tribute service was Thursday at Deschutes Memorial Gardens. A tribute service followed at the First Baptist Church on 60 NW Oregon Avenue in Bend with Pastor Syd Brestell presiding.
Mrs. Blomquist was born March 21, 1929, in Marble, Minn., to Walter and Leona (Ernst) Bentz. Ann graduated from high school and completed two years in business college.
She married
Robert Blomquist on Sept. 4, 1948, in Marble, Minn.
Mrs. Blomquist was a resident of Portland for 34 years where she was employed by the Parkrose School District as a food preparer supervisor until retiring in 1986.
She moved to La Pine in 1986 where she lived until moving to Bend two years ago.
Mrs. Blomquist attended the First Baptist Church in Bend.
She enjoyed high school basketball, camping, fishing and spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed decorating the house at Christmas time.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Bend; two daughters, Marty Main of Seaside and Leona Pedigo of Troutdale; one son, Robert of Coquille; two brothers, Charles Bentz of St. Paul, Minn., and Burrell Bentz of Bemidji, Minn; one sister, Ruth Gunberg of Champlin, Minn.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barb.

Woodrow Medford
Oct. 16, 1913 - May 15, 2001
Woodrow Medford of Prineville died Tuesday of natural causes. He was 87.
A graveside service will be held today at 10 a.m. at Juniper Haven cemetery.
Mr. Medford was born Oct. 16, 1913, in Broken Bow, Okla., to Lewis and Lucy (Wagner) Medford.
He married
Josie Balack in Bethel, Okla., on Feb. 18. 1934.
They moved to Prineville in 1943 and he went to work for Kelly Saw Mill as a timber faller. He also worked for Tum-A-Lum Lumber and Copeland Lumber, retiring from Coin Lumber Company in 1968.
Mr. Medford was a member of the New Life Bible Chapel.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening, tinkering and playing warrior.
Survivors include his wife, Josie of Prineville; four sons, Calvin of Emmett, Idaho, Don of Clatskanie, Bille of Portland and Jerry of New Plymouth, Idaho; two daughters, Velmer Henderson and Joyce Garner, both of Prineville; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Gilbert 'Gib' E. Musgrove
July 22, 1919 - April 29, 2001
Gilbert 'Gib' E. Musgrove of White Sulfur Springs, Mont., passed away April 29 at Fort Harrison VA Medical Center, of cancer. He was 81.
Mr. Musgrove was born July 22, 1919, to George and Gesine (Ellinghausen) Musgrove.
He married
Barbara Graham on May 15, 1949.
Mr. Musgrove served in the Marines from 1942 to 1946, then he went to work for the Montana Highway Patrol from 1946 to 1954. In 1956 he went to work for Johnson Flying Service. In 1965 he and his family moved to Redmond and went to work for Butler Aviation for nine years. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Barclay Logging in Sisters until 1981. After retiring he returned to White Sulfur Springs, Mont.
Survivors include his wife of White Sulfur Springs, Mont.; two sons, Robert of Terrebonne and Aaron of Forest Grove; one daughter, Evelyn of Fallen, Nev.; one brother, Bill of Farmington, N.M.; one sister, Virge Holliday of Wilsall, Mont.; and three grandchildren.

Sherman Rhodes Eycleshimer
July 29, 1910 - Jan. 27, 2002
Sherman Rhodes Eycleshimer of Bend died Sunday. He was 91.
A private service will be held.
Mr. Eycleshimer was born July 29, 1910, in Seattle. He married
Carolyn (Cubbison) Rabideau on Aug. 1, 1992, in Reno, Nev.
He served as a merchant marine in the Navy.
Mr. Eycleshimer was a chef and owned and operated a restaurant. He retired in 1973.
He was a musician. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; a daughter, Shawna of Bend; and two stepdaughters, Tammy Geddis of Bend and Connie Thompson of Maine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Vera Marie (Watson) Yauney
March 12, 1912 - Jan. 24, 2002
Vera Marie (Watson) Yauney of Bend died Thursday of natural causes. She was 89.
A private service will be held.
Mrs. Yauney was born March 12, 1912, in Clatskanie. She married
Earl Yauney on Oct. 29, 1954, in Portland.
She worked for U.S. Bank for many years. She moved to Bend in 1979.
Mrs. Yauney was a member of a painting club.
Survivors include her husband of Bend; a stepson, Jerry of Portland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two sons and parents.

David Walter Kirbs

David Walter Kirbs of Bend died Sunday. He was 50.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Rimrock Riders, 63303 O.B. Riley Road in Bend.
Mr. Kirbs was a native of Bend.

Elmer Edward Stone
May 11, 1897 - Jan. 24, 2002
Elmer Edward Stone of Canyonville died Jan. 24 in Roseburg of natural causes. He was 104.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Stone was born May 11, 1897, in Blossom, Texas.
He served in the Navy during World War I.
Mr. Stone worked for Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Wyoming, raised produce and hogs in Colorado and operated a grocery store/motel/gas station in Utah before retiring to Bend in 1968. He moved to Canyonville in 1986.
Mr. Stone enjoyed raising chickens, fishing and panning for gold.
Survivors include his two sons, Hollis of Denver. and Harold of Reno, Nev.; three daughters, Dorothy Berg of Sterling, Colo., Helen Anderson of San Raphael, Calif., and Darleen Peters of Bend; two sisters, Beatrice Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ruby McDaniel of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
