Timothy Wayne Jacobs
May 8, 1948 - May 20, 2001
Timothy Wayne Jacobs of Redmond died Sunday. He was 53.
Private cremation will be held.
Mr. Jacobs was born May 8, 1948, in Bend to Wayne and Joan (Rasmussen) Jacobs. He attended Terrebonne Grade School and Redmond High School. He also attended Central Oregon Community College for a short period of time.
After college, he worked for his father in the building industry. He went into the building contracting business on his own in 1975.
Mr. Jacobs was a 4-Banger Jeep Club charter member.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving his Jeep and motorcycle riding with his friends. He also enjoyed being with family and friends, and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include his son, Shawn; and parents, Wayne and Joan of Redmond.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick.

Robert M. Ocklind
March 31, 1925 - May 16, 2001
Robert M. Ocklind of Bend died at his home of natural causes on May 16. He was 76.
A memorial service was held on May 19 at Greenwood Memorial cemetery in Bend. Mr. Ocklind was cremated and his remains will be inurned at Juniper Haven cemetery in Prineville.
Mr. Ocklind was born on March 31, 1925, in Eugene to Earl L. and Euna Roberta (Roberts) Ocklind. He grew up in Eugene and the Willamette Valley, and attended high school in Creswell. He went to work in sawmills in the Willamette Valley.
Mr. Ocklind retired from the Redmond plywood plant in 1986.
He married
his wife, Bonnie, on July 4, 1977. Mr. Ocklind retired from the Redmond plywood plant in 1986.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors and rock hounding. He was formerly active in a Rock Hound club.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; two daughters: Lorie Hildebrand of Santa Clara, N.M. and Angie Ocklind of Chalis, Idaho; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a special friend, Bonnie Dotson of Bend.
Donations in Mr. Ocklind's memory may be made to Hospice of Bend and La Pine, 1303 N.W. Galveston Drive, Bend, 97701.

Alberta Mae (Grubbe) Stubbs
May 28, 1907 - May 17, 2001
Alberta Mae (Grubbe) Stubbs of Bend died Thursday of natural causes. She was 93.
No service will be held.
Mrs. Stubbs was born May 28, 1907, in Long Prairie.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Stubbs moved to Bend to be near family.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Rennie and Kayla Roler, both of Bend; one son, Jack Curtis of Bend; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings and one great-grandchild.

Betty Jean (Ensminger) Patterson
March 4, 1933 - May 17, 2001
Betty Jean (Ensminger) Patterson of La Pine died Thursday at St. Charles Medical Center. She was 68.
A memorial service was held at the Prairie House in La Pine.
Mrs. Patterson was born March 4, 1933, in Portland to Cecil and Doris (Drakeley) Ensminger.
She served in the Army in 1952.
Mrs. Patterson moved to La Pine from Portland in 1978.
She enjoyed drawing, painting and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Smith of Cloverdale, Debra Tompkins of Portland and Cynthia Wilson of La Pine; one son, Robert Wilson of Petersburg, Alaska; one brother, Robert Ensminger; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Perry Center on Powell Boulevard in Portland.

Don Alan Lauritsen
Oct. 6, 1931 - May 18, 2001
Don Alan Lauritsen of Redmond died Friday of natural causes. He was 69.
No service will be held.
Mr. Lauritsen was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Portland. He attended Oregon State University.
His work took him all over the world. He also lived in Eugene, and then moved to Redmond in 1999.
Mr. Lauritsen enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra Dietrich of Lakeport, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Alice J. (Arntsen) Raper
Oct. 30, 1921 - May 19, 2001
Alice J. (Arntsen) Raper of Bend died Saturday of natural causes. She was 79.
At her request, no public service will be held.
Mrs. Raper was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Seward, Alaska to Leonard and Julia (Skilbrigt) Arntsen.
She worked for Boeing Aircraft during World War II.
She married
Melvin Raper on Feb. 26, 1944, in Kirkland, Wash. He died in 1997.
Mrs. Raper worked at J.C. Penney in downtown Bend for 10 years before being employed by First Interstate Bank, where worked for 22 years until retiring in 1984.
She was a member of the Bend Golf & Country Club, the Sons of Norway and the Lady Elks.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian McMahon of Portland.

Jessie Mae (Clark) Rose
Sept. 21, 1907 - May 19, 2001
Jessie Mae (Clark) Rose of Gilchrist died Saturday in Bend of natural causes. She was 93.
Private services will be held.
Mrs. Rose was born Sept. 21, 1907, in Dufur.
She was raised in Dufur, Pendleton and Corvallis.
She married
Isaac Rose in the late 1930s, in Corvallis. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rose was a mill worker in the timber industry in Gilchrist for 40 years prior to retirement.
She enjoyed fishing and bowling. She also enjoyed helping her daughter with her volunteer work.
Survivors include her daughter, Stella Wright of Gilchrist; two sons, Raymond Klepper of Phoenix, Ariz., and Melvin Rose of Miami, Fla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon State Police Citizen Volunteer Group, c/o South Valley Bank in Gilchrist.

Marilyn Jean (Kircher) Bridge
Nov. 12, 1942 - May 17, 2001
Marilyn Jean (Kircher) Bridge of Bend died Thursday of breast cancer. She was 58.
Viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Community Presbyterian in Redmond and a burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bridge was born Nov. 12, 1942, in Boston, Mass.
She married
Ronald G. Bridge on Oct. 19, 1963. They lived in Redmond from 1999 to 2001.
Mrs. Bridge was affiliated with the Community Presbyterian.
Survivors include her parents, Paul and Martha Kircher; her husband; her son, Gregory; her daughter, Kristin Bartch all of Redmond; and four grandchildren.
