Grace L. Gregory
WOODBURN — Grace L. Gregory (Whitehouse) of Woodburn died April 4, 2005. She was 95.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Belle Passi Cemetery.
Born June 4, 1909, in Memphis, Tenn., she came to the Woodburn/Hubbard area in 1942 and worked as a production worker for Frozen Foods Production Plants. She was a life member of Order of Eastern Star and was a member of United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included reading, sewing and watching TV.
Grace married James Gregory on June 6, 1926; he preceded her in death on July 4, 1981.
She is survived by sons James of Tualatin, Charles of Hubbard and Robert of Woodburn; daughters Jo-Ann Marshall of Woodburn, and Luciell Ballweber of Hubbard; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Lau S. Gee
WOODBURN — Lau S. Gee of Woodburn died April 5, 2005. She was 89.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11, at St. John the Apostle Cemetery in Oregon City.
Born Oct. 10, 1915, in Canton, China, she came to Woodburn from China in 1964. Lau married Gee Mon Gong. He preceded her in death May 4, 1994.
She had worked as a cook at their family restaurant in Woodburn, and she enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by a son Bin Gee of Woodburn; daughter Mair DeBoer of West Linn; and six grandchildren.
Lois Imdieke
MOLALLA — Lois Imdieke of Molalla died April 5, 2005, in Oregon City. She was 85.
A funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at St. James Catholic Church in Molalla.
She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Primghar, Iowa, the second of 10 children to Frank and Winifred Beberger. The family moved to Minnesota when she was a young girl.
Lois married Wendelin Imdieke on June 3, 1941, at Belgrade, Minn. The Beberger and Imdieke families were neighbors, and the couple met when Wendelin came to Lois’s house for water during threshing.
The couple lived in Belgrade until 1952 when they moved to Tucson, Ariz. and in 1954 to the Yoder area near Molalla, where she remained until death.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her flowers, especially her roses and her many cats.
She is survived by her husband Wendelin; her children and their spouses: Dale and Kathy Imdieke, Elroy Imdieke, Bruce and Cindy Imdieke, Sheila and Jeff Shultz, all of Molalla, Karen and Vic Belleque of Dillingham, Alaska, Mary and Harold Daley of Pendleton, Rheta Imdieke of Gladstone, Marcia and Jody Liliedahl of Juneau, Alaska, Anita and Joe Irem of Ione, and Lea and Ron Winkelman of Fairbanks, Alaska; siblings Alfred Poss, Rosalia Speldrick and David Beberger; 30 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Donations may be made in her name to the Willamette Falls Hospice.

Ora Earl Hellemn
MOLALLA — Ora Earl Hellemn of Molalla died at his residence on April 4, 2005. He was 83.
Services were held on April 8, at the Molalla Church of Christ.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1921, in Defiance, Ohio, to Emery and Clara Hellemn.
He was raised in the Midwest and moved to Molalla in 1947. He moved to Guam in 1953 and returned to Molalla in 1959.
He lived in Alaska from 1962 to 1968 and again from 1975 to 1985, returning to Molalla both times.
Ora married Evelyn Wade in 1949.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe and was awarded two bronze stars. While in Guam and Alaska, he worked for the military. Later he owned and operated B & F Mechanic.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Hellemn; daughter Sandi Evans; sons John, William, James and Larry Hellemn; 15 grandchilldren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Remembrances can be given to Disabled Veterans.

Hazel Bolton Miller
WOODBURN — Hazel Bolton Miller of Woodburn died recently. She was 94.
A funeral service was held April 8 at the Woodburn United Methodist Church.
Born Jan. 30, 1911, she was a descendant of Absalom and Oliva Bolton, an Oregon pioneer family.
She spent most of her life about The Dalles and Dufur areas.
Hazel married Fred Carl Miller in 1932. The couple moved to Canby in 1941, but returned to The Dalles in 1947, where they farmed the family wheat ranch in the Dufur/Boyd area until 1972 when they sold the ranch and relocated in Woodburn.
She was a member of the Woodburn United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, traveling, writing stories, playing pinochle and family gatherings.
She is survived by daughter Marcia Gruchalla of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; sister Veda Sexton of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Fred, daughter Shirley Deane Howard and sister Enid F. Bolton.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children or Willamette Valley Hospice.
Richard Vernon Shepard
Richard Vernon Shepard, 74, of Canby, died Aug. 26, 2005
He was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Barlow to Dave and Teddy (Gloss) Shepard. He lived in the Barlow and Canby area all his life. He was a farmer for Yule Tree and Gingerich farms. He served in the Air Force during the Korean war. He married Betty Imholt in 1993.
He is survived by his wife; sister Doris Murchland; brother Spike LaFrance; step-sons and their wives Richard and Kathie Imholt, Patrick and Karen Imholt and Andrew and Marina Imholt; step-daughters and their husbands Mary and Thomas Alexander, Lorelei and Bill McCaffrey and Tina and Gordon Wassom; 15 step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.Wednesday at Canby Funeral Chapel.

Kevin Jon Parkinson
Kevin Jon Parkinson, 48, a longtime resident of Canby, died at Hopewell House Hospice in Portland.
He was born in Kadoka, S.D. to E.L. (Butch) and Doreen Parkinson on March 25, 1957. He moved with his family to Oregon in 1970.
In 1975, he graduated from Canby Union High School, where he was a three-sport athlete (football, basketball and baseball).
He married Diane Coe March 22, 1991.
He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Pinnacle Realty Management Co. until April 2003 when he was diagnosed with bone cancer.
He was an avid golfer and pool player. The love of his life was his daughter Katie.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and parents; brothers Keith (Kari) of Hillsboro and Bradley (Mary) of Oregon City; sister Lynda (Michael) Vigus of Canby; five nephews, three nieces and one great-niece.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Canby United Methodist Church, 1520 N. Holly St. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Irene, S.D.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hopewell House Hospice, 6171 S.W. Capital Highway., Portland, OR 97201.

Sherry ‘Sheryl’ Woolhiser
Sherry Woolhiser, 58, a former Woodburn and Hubbard resident, died Aug. 15, 2005.
She is survived by her sons Daniel and Kyle and one grandson.
Services were held in Florence, and a memorial service will be held locally within the next month.
Gleason H. Ledyard
Gleason H. Ledyard, 86, of Oregon City, died Jan. 6, 2006, at his home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Ashland, Ohio, to Harry and Bertha Ledyard. He received his ministry training at Ft. Wayne Bible College.
He married Kathryn Irene Motter on Aug. 17, 1940.
He was a missionary for 15 years at Eskimo Point, Northwest Territories, Canada. Since 1967, he was president and founder of Christian Literature International in Canby.
He was a missionary and an author, publisher, and translator of several books and translations of the Bible. He traveled three times around the world in his ministries. He had a keen sense of humor which he kept through his recent difficult illness.
He was a member of the Logan Community Church in Oregon City.
He is survived by his wife; and sisters Evelyn Holmes and Marian Fromm.
Funeral services were held Monday at Canby Funeral Chapel, with burial at Zion Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Christian Literature International or to the Provident Adventist Hospice.

Chester L. Faulk
Chester Leroy Faulk, 95, of Woodburn, died Jan. 6, 2006, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1910, in Weir, Kan., to Lewis and Janie Faulk.
He was a fork-lift operator for Sears. He married Florence Dahlen in 1947 and they moved to Canby in 1967. In 1980, he moved to Woodburn where he remained until his death. He enjoyed traveling and gardening and was a member of the Christ Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; daughters Beverly Faulk, Helen Carlson and Claudia Talmadge; sons Allan Tyner and Phillip Faulk; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Remembrances may be made to the Christ Baptist Church.
Services were held Jan. 10 at Canby Funeral Chapel.

Edward Paul Lemons
Edward Paul Lemons of Depoe Bay, formerly of Canby, died June 8, 2006, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Canby Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be at Zion Memorial Cemetery.
Goldie J. Flack
Goldie J. Flack, 92, of Canby, died June 22, 2006.
She was born Sept. 14, 1913, in Scranton, N.D., the first of four children of Samuel and Alice King. She graduated from Starkweather (N.D.) High School and later earned a teaching degree. Her first teaching job was in Milton, N.D., where she met Fred Flack. They married Aug. 29, 1938. He died May 18, 2004. They were married 65 years.
She is survived by son Keith F. Flack of Oakridge, daughters Dianne J. Weller of Oregon City and Kaye F. Fischer of Sundre, Alberta, Canada; 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held June 26 at Canby Alliance Church.

Kenneth V. ‘Ken’ Waring
CANBY — Kenneth V. “Ken” Waring of Canby died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 70.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at New Life Foursquare Church in Canby. Burial will follow at Zion Memorial Cemetery in Canby.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Canby Funeral Chapel.
He was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Vancouver, Wash., to Carl and Verna Waring.
He lived in Portland before moving to Canby 39 years ago. Ken married Nancy Young on May 14, 1960.
He drove trucks for Safeway for 32 years, from 1960-92. Following his retirement from Safeway, he drove trucks for Dryers Ice Cream.
Ken loved his family, four-wheeling, RVing, camping, and his dog, Andy.
He was a member of New Life Foursquare Church and the Local Teamsters Union No. 37.
He is survived by son David Waring of Canby; daughters Barb Smith of Canby and Deborah Odden of Freemont, Calif.; sister Jean Ross of Blue Mound, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Nancy on Oct. 1, 2003, his parents, and his brother, Raymond.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
Margaret L. Page
SILVERTON — Margaret L. Page, formerly of Canby, died Oct. 1, 2004, at Silverton Hospital. She was 88.
A private family memorial is planned. She will be buried in Woodburn.
She was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Hubbard to Paul and Elsa Solum.
Margaret married DeWayne Page on July 24, 1939.
The couple lived in Canby for 10 years, and they attended Canby Christian Church.
Survivors include sons Allan of Canby, Jerry of Sherwood and Gene of The Philippines; brother Roy Solum of Idaho; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
