Robert Ross Trautman
TRAUTMAN, Robert Ross — Age 83, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2005. He was born on November 16, 1921, in Newport, Washington, the son of John and Katharine (Roth) Trautman. Mr. Trautman served our country for 21 years while in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the VFW. He was a truck driver for another 15 years. He was always dedicated to his work. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing on his farm, being with people, taking pictures, being in charge and doing things his way. Mr. Trautman was a loving father, and is survived by six children, Diane Hinkson and her husband, Robert of Roseburg; Noreen Barth and her husband, Glen of San Lorenzo, California; Rodney Owens and his wife, Pamela of Payette, Idaho; Susie Hernandez and her husband, Carlos of Lincoln, California; Sharon of Senora, California and Karen St. Johns and her husband, Larry of Red Bluff, California, along with all their families. Also surviving is a sister, Elsa Rauter and her husband, Roy of Moses Lake, Washington; two grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Hinkson; a nephew, Jimmy Rauter and a niece, Jerry Lee Erstad. There will be a funeral service held on Friday, August 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Taylor’s Family Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Phyllis Stelson with military rites by the VFW District Twelve Honor Guard. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, August 25, 2005, between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service there will be a reception at the home of Diane Hinkson, located at 4239 Coronado in Roseburg.

Beverly Jean Cumberland (Flaherty)
CUMBERLAND, Beverly Jean (Flaherty) – A private service was held at the home of Debby and Ben VanTassel on Saturday, August 20, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. Present were many of Beverly’s family and friends. Bev was born on November 25, 1932, in Hillsboro, Oregon, to Howard and Violet Lichty. She passed away on August 17, 2005, in Roseburg, Oregon. Bev met and married her high school sweetheart, Glen L. Cumberland on April 4, 1949, in Newport, Oregon and they had four children. She lived her whole life in Oregon so she could stay close to her family and friends. Beverly is survived by her husband, Glen Cumberland of Roseburg; sister, Marlene and her husband, Bill Friese of Winchester Bay, Oregon; son, Dan and his wife, Colleen Cumberland of Coquille, Oregon; daughter, Debby and her husband, Ben VanTassel of Roseburg; daughter, Dianna and her husband, Jim Riley of Hermann, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Howard and Violet Lichty; daughter, Denise; sister, Helen Hedges and granddaughter, Candace Morrill.

Merrik Naomi Dianna Smith-Henderson
SMITH-HENDERSON, Merrik Naomi Dianna — Of Winston, Oregon, went to be with God on August 23, 2005, at 11:50 a.m. at a Roseburg, Oregon, hospital. She is survived by her parents, Ron Henderson Jr. and Carrie Smith; sister, Saherra and brother, Thomas, all of Winston; Grandparents, James and Connie Smith of Winston; Terry and Dianna Jansen of North Bend, Oregon; Ron Sr. and Chris Henderson of Klamath Falls, Oregon; Uncles and Aunts, Justin “Bubba” Smith of Winston; Ryan and Cami Henderson of Forest Grove, Oregon. Her Great Grandparents include, Robert C. and Catherine Smith (deceased) of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; Neil and JoAnn Woolman of Oakland, Oregon; Cleo and Beulah Hattabaugh of Coos Bay, Oregon; Robert and Loretta Henderson of Klamath Falls; God parents, Nino DeNino and Krys Elliott of Winston; and numerous relatives and family friends. There are no words to express how greatly Merrik will be missed, nor the impact that her being has made on all those involved. She was our tiny butterfly that touched our hearts and left them changed forever. There will be no funeral but a celebration of life at 151 Sherry St. in Winston at her grandparents house on Friday, September 2, 2005, at 1 p.m. Arrangements were made by TAYLOR’S FAMILY MORTUARY in Winston.

Kate Therese Stone
STONE, Kate Therese — Was born November 7, 1983, in Roseburg, Oregon. Beloved daughter of James and Theresa, sister extraordinaire to Allison and Taylor. Kate passed away in Los Angeles, California, in the early morning hours or August 24 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident the night before. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her wonderful personality, her beautiful smile, her gift of friendship, her sense of loyalty, her enormous heart, her tremendous sense of adventure and her strong love of family. Kate lived her entire life in Roseburg. She attended Fir Grove Elementary School, Fremont Middle School and graduated from Roseburg High School in 2002. Kate was very active in sports, participating in soccer, track and field, basketball and her favorite sport, volleyball. She especially enjoyed her time playing volleyball in high school. Kate attended the University of Oregon for two years before transferring to Oregon State University, pursuing a degree in Food and Nutrition Management. She would have been a senior at OSU this fall with plans to graduate next spring. Kate is survived by her parents, James and Theresa; her sister, Allison and her brother, Taylor. She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, John F. Rice; aunt, Kathleen Pashman and her husband, Robert and their children, Daniel, Max and Brooke; aunt, Mary Rice; uncle, John Rice Jr. and wife, Madeline; uncle, Jeffrey Stone and wife, Leslie and their children, Kristi and Jessica and cousin, Madison Stone. Kate is also survived by her many close friends, all of whom she loved dearly and who loved her in retum. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Garrctt M. and Helen J. Stone; uncle, Gary Stone and maternal grandmother, Carol Ney Rice. Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Melrose Vineyards. Casual attire is acceptable as that’s what Kate would have wanted. Private entombment will be within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kate’s memory can be made to the Kate Stone Memorial Fund at Bank of America and will be distributed to the leadership and volleyball program at Roseburg High School. Kate will always be part of our lives. She will live forever in our hearts. Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.

Judith C. Rose
ROSE, Judith C. — Age 62, of Yoncalla, Oregon, passed away August 25, 2005. She was born December 4, 1942 in Longview, Washington, to Vander and Mabel (Smith) Robins. She completed high school in Castle Rock, Washington. She married Kitcher Rose in Castle Rock in 1958 and divorced in 1980. She married Don Mellin in 1984 and he passed away in 1987, and remarried to David Rose in 1990 and he passed away in 1993. She worked as a waitress and she enjoyed painting, horses, reading,m antiquing, and the Native American culture and heritage. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gordon Pierce, two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Cindy Kitcher, Tim and Phoebe Kitcher, three brothers, Elden, Delbert, and Jack, one sister, Sandra, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Wednesday, August 31 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at SMITH-LUND-MILLS FUNERAL CHAPEL. Services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 31 at Yoncalla Applegate Cemetery with internment to follow.

Gertrude Kent Wingfield
WINGFIELD, Gertrude Kent — Age 81, passed away on August 25, 2005, in Lebanon, Oregon, after a long illness. She was born in Roseburg, Oregon, on June 14, 1924, to Robert and Lucie White Kent. Gertrude grew up in Roseburg and attended Roseburg High School. During WW II she worked in the shipyards in Portland, Oregon, where she met William Wingfield. They married on October 4, 1943, in Vancouver, Washington. Gertrude and William worked at numerous Oregon Fish hatcheries, including Rock Creek, Alsea and Roaring River where they retired and built their dream home. She moved to Lebanon in the 1980’s. She was involved in Cub Scouts, Bluebirds, Pinochle Club, Rebecca Lodge, American Legion and the Elks Lodge. She also enjoyed making Christmas wreaths and swags and helping her husband in the fish hatcheries. Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in 1984; her son, Kenneth in 1996; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Kent, and one great-grandchild. Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Linda Gaines, Scio, Oregon; grandchildren, Shannon and Ryan Gaines; Kent and Colin Wingfield; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Gaines; nephew, Jerry Kent; and sister-in-law, Mary Kent Hart of Roseburg; niece, Janet Fryback of Springfield, Oregon; sister-in-law, Mary Ellarae Kent of Lebanon; and many numerous relatives. Services were held on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, in Scio. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

John Rosswell Whaley
WHALEY, John Rosswell — A veteran of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away on Sunday September 4, 2005, at the Veterans hospital in Portland, Oregon, after a short illness. He was born on November 26, 1926, in Leads, South Dakota, to Lou and Dell Ralph Whaley. He was the head of the Western Aires Band, and donated many hours with the band to care homes, senior lunches in Douglas County and the Food Bank and Hobo Stew. He was the father of Linda Medarno and husband, Bill; daughter, Dorothy Saloum and husband, Bob; son, Harold Whaley and wife, Kathy; son, Gary Whaley; daughter, Jeanette Keller and spouse; son, John Whaley and daughter, Betty Rodrequis. He married Norma McCall on July 1, 2003. A celebration of his life will be held at the Sutherlin Senior Center on Sunday at 2 p.m., on September 11, 2005. All is open to the public and friends.

Robert Ben Johnson
JOHNSON, Robert Ben — Age 81, passed away Friday, September 2, 2005. Robert was born June 22, 1924 to parents, Edward James and Cora Annette (Frandsen) Johnson. From 1943 to 1946 Robert served in the US Army, 89th Division of Patton’s. Third Army in World War II, his division crossed the Rhine River under heavy enemy fire in 1945. He was awarded a Bronze Star for is actions in saving fellow soldiers whose boats were sunk. He was also awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French Government. On December 27, 1947 Robert married Bonnie B McCormick in Las Vegas, Nevada. He ran a Dental practice in Myrtle Creek from 1953 until his retirement in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie B. Johnson of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; children, Barbara and her husband John Brandes of Tualatin, Oregon; Beverlee and her husband Thomas Renninger of Bellevue, Washington; grandchildren, Michael Brandes of Eugene, Oregon; Alexandra Brandes of Eugene, Oregon; Ryan Brandes of Tualatin, Oregon; Robert Renninger of Seattle, Washington; John Renninger of Seattle, Washington; Rachel Renninger of Bellevue, Washington; brothers, Darwin Johnson of Fairburn, Georgia; Jack Johnson of Ogden, Utah. He is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Edward Johnson in 1972; parents, Edward James and Cora Annette Johnson. Disposition will be by private cremation. A Celebration of life open house will be held September 24, 2005 from 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m. at 1024 NE Hawthorne St., Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Leo ‘Sham’ Humiston
HUMISTON, Leo — Age 92, of Sisters, Oregon, formerly of Riddle, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2005. Mr. Humiston was born in Potlatch, Idaho to George and Rosa Humiston, the tenth of ten children. He was united in marriage to Margaret Hill on January 1, 1935. Leo worked in the Riddle area sawmill industry for 26 years before retiring in1978. He continued to live in the area until 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, meeting people and making friends, and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Canyonville. Survivors include sons, Bobby in California; and Stanley in Sisters, Oregon; grandchildren, Michael Humiston of Wisconsin; Matthew Humiston of Texas; Becky Dodson and Julie Rufner of Terrebonne, Oregon; Brian Gibson of Lafayette, Oregon; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; and daughter, Linda Gibson. A graveside service will be held at the Riddle cemetery at 11:00a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005. A gathering of family and friends will follow with a potluck at either the J.E. Nichols home (weather permitting) or the Riddle Masonic Hall. Velma V. Hansen
HANSEN, Velma V. — College Place, Washington resident, Velma V. Hansen, 91 passed away on September 6, 2005 at an adult care facility in Walla Walla, Washington. Visitation will be 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, and 1-5 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Mountain View Funeral Chapel, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. A Private graveside service and vault interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor Bruce Koch will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Rogers Adventist School through the funeral home. Mrs Hansen was born March 7, 1914 in Downs, Kansas to Charles Daniel and Laura Ann Hill McComas. She graduated from high school in Portis and attended nursing school in Chamberlain, South Dakota, and the University of Minnesota receiving her R.N. in nursing. On December 28, 1938 she and J. Elton Hansen married in Denver, Colorado. They lived in Denver and Cassville, Missouri. She was a head surgical nurse. In 1956, the Hansen’s moved to Roseburg, Oregon where she worked for many years as an office nurse for a group of doctors, retiring in 1979. They moved to this area May, 2002, to be near their daughter. Mr. Hansen died January 22, 2001. She was an excellent seamstress, making all of her own clothes as well as tailoring suits for her husband and son-in-law. She took great delight in gardening, quilting, and her great-grandchildren. She had been actively involved in the Roseburg, Oregon Seventh-day Adventist Church Community Services program. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in College Place. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Terry Koch of College Place; grandsons, Brenden and his wife Melanie Koch of College Place; and Lorin and his wife Katrina Koch of Salem, Oregon; two great grandchildren, Angelina and Dante Koch of College Place and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Arloa Endicott; Mary Stacey; and Grace Carson; and three brothers, Earl; Lester; and Roy McComas.

Alonzo Wesley Fotheringham Jr.
FOTHERINGHAM Jr., Alonzo Wesley — Age 69 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at his home. He was born September 9, 1935 in Drew, Oregon to Alonzo W. and Ida M. (Hayes) Fotheringham Sr. Alonzo spent most of his life in Douglas County. He served in the US Army from 1954 until 1958. Alonzo lived in Kent, Washington for about 10 years. He worked in sawmills and later as a carpenter for many years. Mr. Fotheringham was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Carpenter Local and attended the Drain Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Dana Fotheringham; children, Ron and Sandy Fotheringham; Yvonne Goodnight; Connie (CJ) Fotheringham; Bonnie and Darrel Clowers; Joseph Kincaid; Danette Anttonen; and Dorothy and Richard Dye; sisters, Pat Williamson; Margaret Ruth Lee and Mildred Lott; brother, John Fotheringham; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Alonzo was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Fred Fotheringham; sisters, Nancy Canchola and Ida Mearl Kinnaman; grandson, Michael Johansen. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 1:00 pm in the Drain Assembly of God Church. Reverend David C Royer will officiate. Winifred R. Kovach
KOVACH, Winifred R — Age 79, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2005. She was born in Los Angeles, California on May 24, 1926, the second of three children born to Pere and Maria Yurich. Living most of her life in California, she moved to Roseburg, Oregon in 2000. She attended Nativity Parochial School Catholic Girls High School, Mount St. Mary’s College in Brentwood where she received a B.A. degree in Social Welfare. Winnie had many devoted friends and family members. She enjoyed being involved in the Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. Winnie loved gardening and crocheting and was a member of the Red Hat Society in Roseburg. Survivors include her sons, John of Roseburg,Oregon; Peter and his wife Lynn and their three children, Bradley, Andrea, and Natalee of Gilroy, California; many nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; brother, Martin; and sister, Mary. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 9, 2005 at 11:00 am at Linus Oaks. Florence Mae Bray
BRAY, Florence Mae — Age 88, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2005. Florence was born in Saratoga, Wyoming, in 1917, to Frank and Mable Kennaday. She married Earl N. Ramsey in 1935. They had one child, Earl E. “Butch” Ramsey and later adopted a daughter, Afton. They lived in Los Angeles during WW II and moved to Oregon in 1943. Earl preceded her in death in 1953 due to an accident in the woods. Florence later married Walter (Pete) Bray in 1955. He also preceded her in death in 1965. She was employed for twelve years by the Glide School District as the Secretary at the Upper Elementary School. Florence was a member of the Glide Baptist Church. Florence is survived by her daughter, Afton Hayes; daughter-in-law, Rosa Ramsey; brother, Lincoln Kennaday; grandchildren, Mike Ramsey; Mendi Boerste; Karen Bolleto; Linda Hayes; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her son, Earl E.Ramsey; brothers, Forest Kennaday and Tom Kennaday; sisters, Rose Lott; Bonnie Marier; June Kelley; and grandson, Toby Hayes. A memorial service will be held at Glide Baptist Church on September 9, 2005, at 10 a.m.

Jeanette A. Williamson
WILLIAMSON, Jeanette A. — Age 84, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2005. She was born in Lake View, South Dakota, on June 5, 1921, to Jacob and Frances (Schatzthauser) Schryvers. She moved from Lake View to Oregon in 1937 with her family. Jeanette married Irvan Williamson on March 7, 1942, in Vancouver, Washington. She worked in private industry, while awaiting the return of her husband from WWII, but her greatest passion was being a housewife, mother and grandmother. She also loved to travel and visited the majority of the states in the US. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Irvan Williamson in 1995. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Suiter and her husband, Doyle of Woodlawn, Tennessee; Dennis Williamson and his wife, Kelly Jo of Roseburg; Gary Williamson and his wife, Terry of Myrtle Point, Oregon; Stanley Williamson and his wife, Debbie of Coos Bay, Oregon; brother, Andrew Schryvers and his wife, Francis of McMinnville, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses, 965 W. Harvard Blvd, in Roseburg. Graveside committal will follow at 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 2450 Highway, in Coos Bay.

Emma Lorena Wageman
WAGEMAN, Emma Lorena — Age 80, of Tenmile, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2005. She was born on March 26, 1925, in Clements, California, daughter of Emery and Minnie (Erikson) Howell. She was the youngest of eight children. She was united in marriage to Edward John Wageman Jr. on August 24, 1941. Mrs. Wageman is survived by her children, Lawrence (Larry) Wageman and his wife, Bonnie of Buckeye, Arizona and Carolyn Dowdy and her husband, Loren of Tenmile. She also leaves three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Speegle and her husband, Herschel of Lodi, California; Keo Howell of Stockton, California, Ruth Wageman of Lodi; and a brother-in-law, Eddie Marcotte of Rye, New Hampshire. Emma had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward and two infant sons, Larry Allen and Bruce LeRoy. She and Edward lived in Lodi before moving to Tenmile in 1965. She loved her family, ranch, gardening and animals. At Emma’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor’s Family Chapel.

Wilma Ruth Mitchell Egbert
EGBERT, Wilma Ruth Mitchell — Age 89, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Scandia, Kansas, with her twin brother William on April 14, 1916. Wilma was the youngest of five children born to Benjamin and Grace (Jones) Mitchell. Growing up in Kansas, they lived in several different parts of the state, but moved back to Scandia shortly before her father passed away in 1931. Wilma graduated from Scandia High School and until recently kept in contact with several of her classmates. After high school she helped her mother move to Southern California to be close to the rest of the family who had already moved out West. While working odd jobs and going to church, Wilma became active in the local Methodist Church. It was at a church sponsored roller skating party she met the love of her life and her future husband, Francis Egbert, and they were married on Christmas Eve in 1939. Wilma and Francis went on to have four children and raised them while living in San Fernando Valley, California. Francis retired from Lockheed in 1978, and in 1979 they decided to move north to Oregon to be closer to their children and grandchildren, settling in Sutherlin. After 41 years of marriage, Francis preceded her in death on March 20, 1981. Wilma continued to be active in the Methodist Church and started to volunteer in the community. She was a member of the Sutherlin Grange and was active at the Sutherlin Senior Center. During her quiet time at home Wilma was an avid seamstress, enjoyed being creative with her crafts and loved to read. In her later years Wilma enjoyed the company of the fellow residents at Douglas House in Sutherlin and working word searches. She could always be found working jigsaw puzzles and her many visitors enjoyed working them with her. Wilma is survived by her twin brother, William; her children and their spouses, Ben and Judy Egbert of Spokane, Washington; Frank and Bertha Egbert of Sutherlin, Oregon; Ken and Sharon Egbert of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; and Carol Swesso of Sutherlin. Wilma is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Wilma will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will always be remembered for her feistiness and love of family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Chapel of the Firs. Reverend Glen Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Sutherlin. Those who wish may pay their respects from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2005, at the Chapel of the Firs in Sutherlin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the new roof fund at the Sutherlin United Methodist Church and these may be left at Chapel of the Firs (who is in charge of arrangements.)

Janna Marie Burdett
BURDETT, Janna Marie — Passed away on July 28, 2005. She was born on August 21, 1956, in Sacramento, California. She enjoyed spending her time by teaching porcelain doll making, scrapbooking, quilting and spending time with all of her grandchildren, family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, and soul mate of 28 years, Dennis Burdett; her sons, Todd and Joshua Burdett; daughter, Melissa Burdett; mother, Jean Long; brothers, Jeffery and Mathew Long; sister and best friend, Karen Hanson; and five beautiful grandchildren, Abriana, Brayden, Tyler, Kaylei, and Ryan, with the 6th, Sierra, due in September. She made many beautiful friendships, impacted a great many people in her path through life, and there are NO words for HOW DEEPLY she will be missed. There will be no funeral as the family has chosen to have a "Celebration of her life" to honor her instead at their family home.

Paul L. Duckworth
DUCKWORTH, Paul L. — Age 80, of Batavia, New York, formerly of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2005, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He was born on July 5, 1925, in Attica, New York, the son of the late Lee Roy and Ethel Whitcomb Duckworth. He was a baseball fan whose favorite team was the San Diego Padres. He enjoyed old-time country music and polka music. He was a retired electronic technician and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Duckworth recently moved back to Batavia from Oregon, where he had lived for many years. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hampton Duckworth, who he married on September 23, 1950; five children, Kathleen R. Craig of California; Cheryl and her husband, Jerry Jones of Oregon; Paul L. and his wife, Betty Duckworth of Oregon; Duane and his wife, Kathleen Duckworth of Oregon; and Roy Lee and his wife, Amy Duckworth of Alaska; two brothers, Howard and his wife, Elsie Duckworth and Raymond Duckworth, all of Batavia; five sisters, Cleta Dais; Irene Duckworth; Arlene and her husband, Robert Demarest, all of Batavia; Clara and her husband, Bill Snyder of Rochester; and Carol and her husband, Frank Aquino of Elba, New York; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Carl, Ida, Harold and Willard Duckworth and Oma Reddick. He was step-son of the late Hazel Duckworth. Services were held on July 19, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Batavia. He was buried with military honors at Grand View Cemetery in Batavia.
