Charlie is also survived by many more great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and many, many friends. Those who knew Charlie best agree he was the ultimate mountain man. He was a hunter, a trapper and a timber faller. One of his greatest loves was to fish high mountain streams and lakes. He spent most of his life in the Kellogg Elkton area of Douglas County. The majority of his work was with his family’s business, Kesterson Bros. Logging, also known as The Big K Guest Ranch. His employment also included Columbia Helicopter Logging, and most recently with Ajay Construction Co. in Lakeport, California. Charlie resided periodically in Lakeport where he was a member of the Lakeport Bible Church. He was loved and embraced by his church family there. Join the family for a celebration of Charlie’s life, April 2, 2005, at the Big K Guest Ranch, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in Charlie’s name, to the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife’s Youth Angling Enhancement Program (YAEP), donations may be submitted via family members, or donate at any US Bank.
