DORIUS, Karen L. — Age 47, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2005. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She moved to Roseburg in 1983 and enjoyed golfing, family trips to the coast and working with children. She is survived by her husband, George; children, Amy and Kelly; her mother, Frances Wiesner; sister, Pam Wolf; and brother, Jay Holcomb. Her father, Sid Holcomb, preceded her in death. Friends are welcome to come and share memories at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at the Redeemer's Fellowship Church in Roseburg. Charles James Ritzman
RITZMAN, Charles James — Age 76, of Tenmile, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2005. He was born on July 22, 1928, to Charles and Edith Ritzman. He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Charles R. Ritzman; daughter, Linda and her husband, Tim Price; four grandchildren, Josh; Corey; Tahlia; and Jessie; mother-in-law, Grandma Hesner; brother-in-law, Eugene Surkamer and his wife, Judy; sister-in-law, Carol Deaton and her husband, Tex. Charles was drafted into the Army at the age of 17 during WWII. He served seven years, then went to work in the civil service. Charles later reenlisted in the Air Force, from which he retired. After retiring from the military, Charles worked for BLM in Tenmile as a heavy equipment operator for 15 years. In 1970, he moved to Glide, Oregon, and joined the Volunteer Fire Department. Charles also was the leader for Glide Boy Scout Troop 112. He loved helping people and working with kids. Charles spent every spare moment making things for the Troop and working with the Boy Scouts. In 1980, he moved to Tenmile, he could finally call it his home. While living there, he was part of the Tenmile Volunteer Fire Department. Charles was the type of person that enjoyed helping people, never expecting anything in return. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. Charles enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Long and Shukle Memorial Chapel.

Wayne Scott Backman
BACKMAN, Wayne Scott — Passed away on February 6, 2005, in Santa Ana, California, after a long illness, with his family by his side. Scott was born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon, and graduated from Roseburg High. He was a DJ at some country radio stations in Roseburg, Oregon, Seattle, Washington, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Los Angeles, California, going by the name of Scott James. He had a great sense of humor and made friends every where he went. We will all miss him dearly. Scott is survived by his very special friend, Peter Panos of Santa Ana; mother, Diane Carter; father and step-mother, Pete and Carla Backman; brother, Gary Backman; maternal grandmother, Gwen Hord; paternal grandmother, Ila Backman; step-brother, Jeff Crenshaw, all of Roseburg; brother, Mike Backman of Lemon Grove, California; step-sister, Michelle Curtis of Hood River, Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins. Scott was preceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, Monte Hord and paternal grandfather, Edner Backman.
Edgar Allen Cole
COLE, Edgar Allen — Was born on March 27, 1923, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2005. He came to Oregon when he joined the Air Force. Even though Edgar was only 19, he had sixty men working under him repairing the fighter planes. Edgar was a Master Sergeant. After he left the service, he worked for Tectronics in Portland, Oregon. On July 1, 1989, he married Faye and they enjoyed 15 years together, spending the summers in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and the winters in Arizona. He was a member of the Myrtle Creek Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Faye and numerous family members and friends. His number one enjoyment in life was repairing things. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held at the Myrtle Creek Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at 2 p.m. Private interment will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at the Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
Joan Carol Robertson
ROBERTSON, Joan Carol — Was born on December 14, 1930, in San Mateo, California, to Helen and Charles Berryessa. She passed away peacefully on February 12, 2005, in Roseburg, Oregon. She is survived by her loving husband, Ted of Sutherlin, Oregon; sons, Michael and his wife, Robyn; Ken; Rick and his wife, Yolanda; and Greg and his wife, Marla Robertson of California; sister, Marian Lamb of Magalia, California; four granddaughters, Maile; Lark; Kemicko; Margo; and one grandson, Kyle; one great-grandson, Patrick; and many nieces and nephews. Joan enjoyed quilting and being active in the Chamber of Commerce. She was involved with the TOPS and enjoyed her many friends in the Sutherlin community. While growing up she attended San Mateo High School. Ted and Joan met in 1947 and married in 1949. They were married 55 years. Memorial services will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Chapel of the Firs. It is suggested, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Clinton H. ‘Junior’ Van Sickle
VAN SICKLE Jr., Clinton H. “Junior” — Age 61, of Newport, Oregon, passed away on February 8, 2005, of a rare terminal cancer that was discovered just 3 weeks prior. Clinton “Junior” was born on January 22, 1944, in Hayward, California. Junior married Caroline in Reno, Nevada, on June 13, 1964. Junior was a resident of Oregon for 30 years. He was the successful owner of Old to New Painting in Newport. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Caroline; children, Jeana Van Sickle and Troy Van Sickle, both of Arizona; mother, Hallie Van Sickle; sister, Hilah Ahnstrom; three grandchildren, Ailia Starr, Hannah Michelle, and Alexander Clinton Van Sickle; nephew, Dale Ahnstrom; exceptional father-in-law, Warren Carnes; great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Junior was preceded in death by his father, C.H. Van Sickle Sr. He will be greatly missed. A private family gathering will be held.

GLEAVES, Dean Frank — Age 81, of Roseville, California, formerly of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on February 3, 2005, after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma cancer. He was born on March 14, 1923, in Treynor, Iowa. Dean is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolee of Roseville; children, Brent, Diane, and Gary Gleaves. Violet Kathleen Belford
BELFORD, Violet Kathleen — Age 92, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away at her home on February 13, 2005. She was born in Los Angeles, California, to Harry and Kathleen (Rolfe) Pope. Violet married James W. Belford in Yuma, Arizona, on February 27, 1932. In 1973, she and her family moved to Elkton, Oregon. They bought nine acres of land, planting Douglas trees and starting a tree farm. In the 1980's, she moved to Pine View Mobile Estates in Sutherlin, Oregon. In 1937, Violet was initiated as a member of P.E.O. She was proud to be a member for over 68 years. Violet was a member of Westside Church in Roseburg for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Adams of Walnut Creek, California; seven grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Ruffner of La Crescenta, California. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, James Belford who passed away in 1988; children, John Belford and William James Belford. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Umpqua Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center. Violet will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Elkton Cemetery. Dorothy Marie Evans
EVANS, Dorothy Marie — Age 83, of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 11, 2005, at a Medford, Oregon, medical center. She was born on December 3, 1921, in Coalgate, Oklahoma, to Wallace and Emma McDowell. On February 15, 1943, in Bakersfield, California, Dorothy married A.D. Evans. They lived in Bakersfield until 1953 when they moved to Sutherlin. Dorothy enjoyed taking care of her home, and being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She gave her love to her family and was always there with understanding and kindness. Her passion in life was her grandchildren, who she raised. Dorothy liked to cook, read and take pictures. She liked to meet her friends at the laundromat and catch up on the local gossip. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Sheldon of Bridge, Oregon; grandchildren, Chuck Jones and Susan Smith, both of Phoenix, Oregon; Jim Jones of Sutherlin; great grandchildren, Aaron Smith and Alyssa Jones, both of Phoenix; sister, Mary Webb of Santa Paula, California. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Evans who passed away on December 14, 2003; two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Chapel of the Firs. Burial will be within the grounds of Cedar Hill Cemetery. Betty Ann Gubser
GUBSER, Betty Ann — Age 82, of Medford, Oregon, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2005. She was born on May 31, 1922, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to William and Mary (Schmor) Sparks. On March 26, 1943, in Klamath Falls she married Erwin I. Gubser. The Gubsers were residents of Winston, Oregon, for many years. Mrs. Gubser moved from Winston to Medford, Oregon, three and a half years ago. Betty was instrumental in the starting of Umpqua Community College where she worked as the bookkeeper for many years. Mrs. Gubser enjoyed fishing, playing bridge and traveling. She and her daughters went on an Alaska cruise a year and a half ago. While living in Medford, she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, squirrels and deer. She also enjoyed many adopted dogs over the years. Mrs. Gubser was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Winston Ward. Survivors include her son, Gary Gubser and his wife, Mary Ann of Tacoma, Washington; daughter, Janis Gubser and Holly Harding of Ashland, Oregon; granddaughters, Julie Sandberg and Laura Romero; great-grandson, John Romero; niece, Bonnie Robeson of Tangent, Oregon; and other extended family. Mrs.Gubser was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Erwin on September 9, 1998 as well as three brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Winston Ward. Bishop Tom Bidwell will be presiding. Graveside services will follow within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Those who wish, may pay their respects today, Wednesday, February 16, 2004, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses, who is in charge of arrangements.
Earl Winifred Howlett
HOWLETT, Earl Winifred — Age 87, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away at his home on February 14, 2005, with his family by his side. He was born on May 4, 1917, in Portland, Oregon, to Perley W. and Helen Louise (Brooks) Howlett. He lived in Oregon all of his life except for the 7 years, 2 months, and 17 days he spent serving in the military during WWII and in the South Pacific. He was united in marriage to Hazel Mae (Baker) Howlett on April 16, 1946, in Portland. Earl worked as a postman, a professional musician and a recreation specialist at the V.A. Hospital in Portland before transferring to the V.A. Hospital in Roseburg in 1959, where he worked until he retired in 1972. Earl loved his family and music. Earl has been playing the piano since he was three years old. He played and traveled with several bands, some of those included Sammy Davis Junior and Tommy Dorsey through out those years. He loved to entertain people with his piano, organ and accordion playing. With his accordion he won the Ted Mack music hour contest in New York, New York. Yes, music was his passion. Over the years he enjoyed doing genealogy and could trace his family back to the 1600's. He and Hazel loved to visit with family and friends, and challenge each other at crossword puzzles. He kept a daily diary for 58 years. In 2002, he and Hazel moved into Riverview Terrace, where they developed good friendships with staff and residents. He called them his second family. Earl is survived by his wife, Hazel; and his children, Rosemary and her husband, Mike Brinkley of Roseburg; Suzanne and her husband, Mark Pace of Sweet Home, Oregon; Steve Howlett and his wife, Gwen Buckingham of Shell Knob, Missouri; his grandchildren, Jocelyn and Chris Miller of Portland; Gretchen and Chad Yaeger and their son, Lance of Roseburg; Megan and Ryan Jones of Bend, Oregon; Charley Pace and his fiancée, Dendra Mitchell of Salem; Jacob and Kimmi Howlett and their three girls, Tatum, Brooklyn, and Kennedy of Battleground, Washington; Zachary and Tracy Howlett of River Falls, Wisconsin; Hilary and Max Braden and daughter, Hanna of Soldotna, Alaska; Dawn and Mike Walker and sons, Nikkolas and Brady of Gold Hill, Oregon; brother, Ralph and his wife, Ruth Howlett of Portland. Earl also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, wonderful caregivers at Riverview Terrace and special care giver, Liz Akins, as well as a host of friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Jonathan Brinkley and his great-grandson, Kenneth Williams Miller. Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m., on Friday, February 18, 2005, at the Chapel of the Roses with Pastor Dan Merrill from Cornerstone Family Fellowship officiating. A reception to follow at Riverview Terrace, 1970 W. Harvard. Earl’s final resting place will be at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. For those who would like to honor Earl in memory may make a memorial to the Salvation Army in Earl's name. Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.
Daniel Paul Wenzel
WENZEL, Daniel Paul — Passed away on January 17, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born to Carl and Jean Wenzel on May 18, 1958, in Burns, Oregon. Dan attended grades K-4 at Hines Grade School. After graduation from high school in 1971, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, he spent a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Germany. Daniel backpacked through Europe and traveled in Central America, and the United States. Dan graduated from the University of Oregon in 1979, with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dan worked in Eugene, Oregon, at various places and at the University of Oregon until moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1999 where he worked as a real estate agent for Rossum Realty Unlimited. Dan never married and kept his life simple. His father preceded him in death in 1981. Dan is survived by his mother, Jean Wenzel of Springfield, Oregon; sisters, Carol and her husband, Kenneth Dickenson of Springfield; Marjorie and her husband, Martin Hughes of Tampa, Florida; Kathy and her husband, Terence Teeter of Salem, Oregon; brother, Norman Wenzel of Portland, Oregon; nieces, Annette Walborn of Springfield; Tamie Smith of Reno, Nevada; Amy Teeter and nephew, Joel Teeter, both of Salem; four great-nephews and two great-nieces. A celebration of life will be held this spring in Eugene, date and location to be determined. Valley Funeral Home of Las Vegas is in charge of arrangements.
Everette Williams
WILLIAMS, Everette — Age 79, of Sutherlin, Oregon, passed away February 8, 2005, in Roseburg, Oregon. He was born Thomas Everette Williams on July 23, 1925, in McAllister, Oklahoma to John and Fern (Wooden) Williams. Everette served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Warhawk in the South Pacific during World War II. On January 3, 1947, he married Jean Johnston in Hollister, California. Everette worked in pipeline construction. Nineteen years ago Everette and Jean moved to Sutherlin from Watsonville, California. Everette enjoyed being with his family and looked forward to the time he spent with his grandchildren. His dogs were also very special to him. He liked to fish and he was an inventor of handy gadgets. Everette was a member of the Oakland Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Jean Williams of Sutherlin; children, Thom Williams and his wife, Kellie of Tualatin, Oregon; Penny Baxter and her husband, Jeff of Oakland, Oregon; grandchildren, Kacey Baxter; Kelley Baxter; Mike Baxter and his wife, Katie; Kimberly Baxter; Kris Williams who is serving in the United States Marine Corps; and Andy Williams; brother, Jim Williams and his wife, Wilma of Sutherlin; special nephew, Tom Terra; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Everette in death were his brother, Jerry Williams and his sister, Goldie Henderson. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., on Friday, February 18, 2005, at the National Cemetery in Roseburg. Pastor Billy Sanders will officiate. Richard Kenneth Cloud
CLOUD, Richard Kenneth — Passed away due to natural causes on February 3, 2005, in Coos Bay, Oregon, at the age of 49. He was born to Richard and Enid Cloud in Roseburg, Oregon, on November 5, 2005. Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had multiple hobbies and trades. He graduated from RA Long High School in Longview, Washington, and then proceeded into the Coast Guard. He had been battling an illness the last several years and was aware that this day was soon to come. However, knowing this does not mean we will not miss the way he had to make others laugh and raise the spirits of those who are feeling down. Rick was known for the goodness of his heart and soul, and that is what touched so many lives. That is also what he will be remembered for. Each of us have our own memories and closeness that we will remember and hold close to our hearts and souls, as well as those stories of the good times that will bring smiles to our faces. He is survived by his wife, Kim Cloud; son, Justus Cloud; daughter, Shanoha Cloud; parents, Richard and Veda Cloud, Enid and Kenneth Gaddis; brother, Dan Cloud and his wife, Renee; sisters, Darla Darling and her husband, Cecil; Cathy Keener and her husband, Jim; step-brothers, Bob Gaddis and his wife, Debra; John Gaddis; and several step-brothers and sisters, three grandchildren, Desaray; Kyler; and Hunter. He is also survived by numerous family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as life long friends. A celebration of Ricks life was held on February 9, 2005, following graveside services that was held at Riddle Cemetery.
Jewel L. Maness-West
MANESS-WEST, Jewel L. — Fondly referred to as "Granny Goose" by friends and family, was born on January 31, 1914, and, after 91 years of sharing her love with everyone around her and being loved by many, has gone to be with the Lord on February 10, 2005. Jewel lived a long and prosperous life. She is one of the most wonderful people you would ever have met, would do anything for anyone, and has touched many a life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a very loving, caring, and giving person and will be missed. Jewel is survived by daughter, Inez Eggers of Roseburg, Oregon; granddaughter, Debra and her husband, Robert Thurman of Crescent City, California; granddaughter, Teleah and and her husband, Victor Potter of Fernley, Nevada; granddaughter, Roidawn and her husband, Tim Hart of Roseburg; great-grandson, Zach Hurst of North Bend, Oregon; great-grandson, Chris Owen of Coquille, Oregon; great-granddaughters, Sascha and Amanda Owen of Crescent City; great-grandsons, Brandon; Corey; Keith; Ty Hart; and Ben Cellucci, all of Roseburg; and great-great grandson, Ty Sabastion of North Bend. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens in Coquille. Hudson Linden Miller
MILLER, Hudson Linden — Age 84, of Dolan Springs, Arizona, passed away on February 8, 2005, in Kingman, Arizona, of Congestive Heart Failure. He was born on September 22, 1920, to Philip and Alice Miller in Midvale, Idaho, he was preceded in death by his beloved Anna in 1966, and one infant daughter, Maryann. He served as a cook in the Army Air Corps during WWII, ranched in Baker County for many years and retired from Roseburg Lumber in Roseburg, Oregon, in 1985. He was faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many years serving in many capacities including two full time missions. He is survived by his four children, Nina Stephens; Alice Sheldon; Philip Miller; and LaFawn Smith and their families. He is also survived by his second wife, Berniece Miller; six stepchildren, Shirley Benjamin; Leland Carlson; Ralph Carlson; Dennis Carlson; Ivan Carlson; and Louise Cunningham and their families. He was beloved by all. Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005, at 1 p.m., at the LDS Church in Baker City, Oregon, on Hughes Lane. Public viewing will be at 12 p.m. Memorials may be made to the LDS Mission Fund through Coles Mortuary.
Joseph ‘Big Joe’ Montalbano
MONTALBANO, Joseph ‘Big Joe’ — Passed away on January 31, 2005, at a medical center in Reno, Nevada. Joe was born in Newark, New Jersey, on May 17, 1941, and was raised in the San Fernando Valley, California, where he met and married, Jane Welter 44 years ago. They lived most of their life in Northern California but moved near family in Sutherlin, Oregon, for a time. They owned and operated the Big Stripper furniture refinishing. While in retirement they moved to Yerington, Nevada, three years ago and dearly loved the town and the people there. They have said these were the happiest three years of their lives and the town had a magic. Joe is survived by his wife, Jane; children, Joseph and Christine; his mother, Flo; granddaughter, Courtney Montalbano; his sister, Jean Gerling and family; in-laws, Anne Welter; Matt and Debbie Welter; Bill and Lou Gross; along with numerous loving family members. A memorial mass was offered at Holy Family Church by Father Paul McCollum on February 5, 2005. Jay H. McVicker Sr.
MCVICKER Sr., Jay H. — Passed away on January 30, 2005. He was born on October 6, 1940, in Payette, Idaho. Jay grew up in Oregon, and lived in Issaquah, Washington and Stanwood, Washington, the past 26 years. Jay is a 1959 graduate of Myrtle Creek High School and a graduate of Marylhurst College in Portland, Oregon. He served honorably in the United States Navy and the Air Force Medical Corps. After his military service, Jay was appointed Laboratory Supervisor at Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport, Oregon, later becoming Director of Laboratory and Ancillary Services for North Bend Medical Center. Jay was elected President of the Oregon State American Medical Technologists (OAMT) Association and was recognized as a national leader in promoting the understanding and advancement of medical technology. Jay enjoyed teaching and taught supervisory and time management at Southwestern Oregon Community College. While in medical sales, Jay taught enzymology and biochemistry seminars across the country. Jay’s sense of adventure and passion for life is evident in the fact that he "reinvented" himself successfully several times in his career. After leaving the medical field, Jay purchased Fire & Brimstone in Bellevue, Washington, and quickly became "the man to see" for all fireplace and BBQ needs. After closing the business, Jay was employed by AT&T Wireless in Bothell, Washington, as a Customer Care Supervisor where he managed and trained new teams of employees. He enjoyed the people he worked with and took his mentoring role to heart. Jay and his wife, Ruthann were just beginning to live their dream of raising alpacas after purchasing a farm outside Silvana, Washington, last year. Ruthann plans to continue their business, JRAM Alpacas, and keep their dream alive. Jay is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruthann; their four children, Jay McVicker Jr.; Deborah McVicker Kiernan; Jeffery McVicker; and Jennifer McVicker Olsen; nine grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; brothers, Mick and Bob McVicker; sister, Gladys Halverson; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Jay’s life of service and positive outlook touched many people. He is truly someone that made the world a better place. Jay is loved greatly, missed terribly, and will never be forgotten. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2005, at the Farm in Silvana, Washington. Gerald ‘Jerry’ Charles Droscher
DROSCHER, Gerald ‘Jerry’ Charles — Age 67, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2005, peacefully at home. He was born on January 10, 1938, in Shelton, Washington, to Charles and Lorene Droscher. Jerry and his family moved to Roseburg in 1946 where he attended local public schools, graduating from Roseburg High School in 1956. After high school, Jerry attended Oregon State University on a baseball scholarship. In 1958, Jerry was a member of the Drain Black Sox National Championship baseball team and voted All-American. In 1959, he participated in the Pan-American Games held in Chicago, Illinois. In 1960, Jerry was captain of the OSU baseball team and awarded Most Inspirational Player. Jerry earned his Bachelor's Degree in Science in 1960 and his master's degree in Education in 1962 from Oregon State University. Jerry's first teaching job was at Grant Union High School in Las Palmas, California. In 1964, he returned to Roseburg to teach biology and coach football, basketball, and baseball at Roseburg High School. Jerry married Mary Lee Mordhorst in 1967. Jerry taught and coached baseball at Treasure Valley Community College from 1970 to 1972, Scottsdale Community College from 1973 to 1974 and Grants Pass High School from 1975 to 1980. In 1981, Jerry and his family returned to Roseburg. From 1981 to 1990, Jerry was a teacher, guidance counselor, and coached football, basketball, and baseball at Roseburg High School as well as American Legion Baseball. From 1991 to 1997, Jerry and Mary Lee owned and operated Droscher Interiors. Jerry then worked at Horizon Mazda from 1998 to 2002. Jerry was an avid steelhead fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved his family, his friends, good food and a good laugh. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched during his years of coaching and teaching. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary Lee Droscher of Roseburg; children, Matthew Droscher and his wife, Elizabeth; Michelle (Droscher) Endicott and her husband, Bill; Marci (Droscher) Michael and her husband, Sean, all of Roseburg; grandchildren, Ben and Kate Droscher; Mikayla and Hunter Endicott; and Brayden and Logan Michael; brothers, Ken Droscher of Florida; and Don Jacklin of Portland, Oregon. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Charles Droscher; and his daughter, Melisa (Droscher) Cole. A memorial service will be held Sunday March 13, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Legion Memorial Field with a reception following at Stewart Park pavilion. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship is being established at Roseburg High School in Jerry's name. WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES is in charge of arrangements.
